Pizzamaking.com has a selection of oliera owners, but, after doing some digging, it looks like all of them have gotten their oliera's either in the U.S. or via ebay Italy.

I did find this:

https://octocog.com/a-memory-from-naples/

although, to be completely honest, I've seen prettier olieras with less clunky handles.

How is your Italian? If it's good, I would ask here:

https://laconfraternitadellapizza.forumfree.it/

One thing you want to be careful about is that these types of cruets have been known to be made with lead solder. You want to make sure that they're lined with tin, or you'll want to line it with tin yourself.

I did find something very similar to what the previous poster went to great lengths to source in Italy:

https://www.amazon.com/Gi-Metal-OL10-Copper-Cruet-2-pint/dp/B008NXLX2U

and a smaller version here:

https://www.amazon.com/Gi-Metal-OL05-Copper-Oil-Cruet/dp/B008NXLB4A

Same handle and everything.

There's also these off of ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/CASOLARO-GI-METAL-Handmade-Copper-Brass-and-Tin-Oil-Cruet-Capacity-0-25L-250ml/183863641227

https://www.ebay.com/itm/CASOLARO-GI-METAL-Handmade-Copper-Brass-and-Tin-Oil-Cruet-Capacity-0-5L-500ml/183863639051

https://www.ebay.com/itm/CASOLARO-GI-METAL-Handmade-Copper-Brass-and-Tin-Oil-Cruet-Capacity-1L/183863635076

Lastly, as much as I despise Williams Sonoma, this is pretty graceful:

https://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/hakart-copper-olive-oil-cruet/

You might even take the WS cruet and glue on a brass coin or pendant to give it a little bling.

Edit: Subito is apparently an Italian Craigslist. I found this while doing a search in the Campania section.

Your options, as far as I know, in descending order of drastic-ness are:

  • Continue using oil, but use less. If you look at blogs like Skinnytaste and Slender Kitchen, you'll note they still use cooking fats, just a lot less than a similar recipe which isn't being created with calorie limiting in mind.

  • Use truly minimal amounts of oil. This is easiest with a spray can like Pam (there are also things you can buy which allow you to load, say, olive oil into it). Alternatively, a pump-action spray bottle also works for spreading out tiny amounts of oil, like the dinosaur one Alton Brown uses in Good Eats.

  • Water sauteeing is a thing. I was gifted the vegan cookbook Forks Over Knives, and it has some rather extreme viewpoints on what restrictions are necessary for a healthy diet, one of which is totally cutting out cooking oils. Basically you just continually add water to the pan sufficient to keep stuff from sticking, and then cook it off. I've never actually tried it, though -- I usually add back in oil to do the sauteeing when I make those recipes.

These are absolutely the bomb for obvious reasons. I'm notorious for not finishing a beer (party foul), but these handy little things would keep the beer nice and fizzy so that I can finish it later!

Thanks for hosting :) It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine.

As an amateur wine maker, here's my advice - Start drinking wine and hit up friends and family! You can certainly use used wine bottles for this. The labels come off pretty easily when soaked in water (bath tub). You can sterilize using a bottle cleaner like 1 step and one of these from amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Steel-Carboy-Bottle-Washer/dp/B003H84UD0/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1502891465&sr=8-12&keywords=wine+bottle+cleaner

You'd be amazed how quickly you can come up with a bunch of empty bottles.

These are the ones I like; you can also get a set of three 4 oz bottles but I like the little ones for certain things. The cobalt blue ones are really pretty too haha.

u/MadSc13ntist · 1 pointr/BeardTalk

Though that is conventionally true of spray bottles in general, I have been reading lots of reviews for these olive oil misters and many of them get great reviews in regards to not clogging using olive oil which is notably heavier than any beard oil I've ever used personally.

One part of the experiment that is yet unresolved is the best mister to use. I am looking for a unit that:

  • isn't huge

  • isn't (too) expensive.

  • doesn't firehose oil

  • has decent reviews for not leaking.

I stumbled across units like this one that might be cool for adjusting how much tea tree oil I want in my mixture.

I know people love PAM but its noy "zero carb" and its made of more than just canola oil. IMO, that can make food taste funny at times.

If using a spray is important to you, try looking for something like this. https://www.amazon.com/Misto-Gourmet-Olive-Sprayer-Silver/dp/B009I5U3NW/ref=sr_1_9

I found a pair at my local food store for $10USD. You fill with whatever oil you love, pump it a few times and spray away. No propellant, no additives.

u/CityBarman · 2 pointsr/cocktails

500 ml is untypical for wine and spirits; 375 & 750 being the most common. For 500s, look to olive oil bottles. 500ml = 16.9 oz.

3 17oz clear, including pour spouts for $17. Pick up some corks and you're good to go.

Amazon has an entire home brewing and wine making category.

Many online stores cater to packaging in jars and bottles, like this one.

~Good luck!

u/BaconOfTroy · 3 pointsr/fatlogic

I own this glass sprayer for olive oil and love it. It is refillable, you can infuse flavors in it, and it is also good for a quick spray when cooking to lightly mist the pan. Love it so much.

u/hacelepues · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I recently learned about olive oil misters. How did I not know about these!!! Olive oil is so expensive and I put it in everything... this could definitely extend it's life in my kitchen.

It's getting cold, and I love cooking when it's cold! What's your favorite weird kitchen tool that you can recommend to others?

u/MakeupDumbAss · 2 pointsr/Wishlist

Since you said cooking item, my husband & I absolutely love this olive oil dispenser. It looks like they don't have it now, but there are plenty of similar ones. It has been a dream for cooking & measuring out small amounts for pan cooking, or perfect for just drizzling over anything.

u/ice-nine- · 2 pointsr/electronic_cigarette

Hard bottle I just screw the top off, fill it and screw the top back on. You'll probably get a little juice forced up the tube once you screw it back on just from pressure but I just grab a paper towel or a napkin and squeeze whatever was forced up into the tip and dab it off.

After that I just tilt the bottle at slight angle and shimmy the tube onto the squonking post/pin/whatever.

510 refill bottle you can just grab from Amazon, here's a link for a 30ml but they do offer 60ml as well. Good luck, hope this helps!

u/-tink · 1 pointr/vandwellers

Very true. I would look at something like this.

Looks much easier to clean and less likely to squirt where ya dont want it to.

u/Doomaa · 5 pointsr/LifeProTips

I'll eat onions while in the plane. Along with my garlic tuna fish sandwich. If those shitty parents are bringing their demon child on the plane then I can enjoy my food while crammed in an aluminum tube.

Bonus LPT:. You can by small glass bottles from Amazon and easily smuggle 4 minibooze bottles on the plane. 2 in your laptop bag/purse and 2 in your carry on. It's great!

A lot of the basic stuff you can get as sets from Amazon as an example. I remember seeing things like it at the science museum, and they have them on thinkgeek although postage is an arm and a leg from america but we have similar/equivalent geek novelty sites.

The classic vinegar ones are handy for looking swish with your spirit dosing.

It's a reasonably popular thing, it's just if you want the slightly more specialist items i'm not sure about. Your workplaces aren't thinking of ordering any glassware are they? ;)

Edit: also had a thought that ebay might serve you better actually for the odd other bit. Noticed a separating funnel. I guess most suppliers just don't deal with small orders either. Probably not quite as standard looking though if you're having to mix and match on the same thing, could be some suppliers on there though.

u/livelylivers · 2 pointsr/cocktails

I found them both at Target. The crate I just happened to see and thought it would be useful. The bottles are 8.5oz bottles that came with pourers. May be able to find them cheaper on amazon, though.

Tablecraft H9085 Olive Oil Dispenser, 8 oz SET OF 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017GI8BAY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ErXhAb55YR4SA

Or maybe you can’t get them cheaper.

The crate was advertised for beer bottles.

Loving them so far. Recommend some masking tape for labeling.

u/Focus62 · 2 pointsr/soylent

I use these: https://www.amazon.com/Dairy-Shoppe-Glass-Water-Bottle/dp/B018BDCUYG/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1468374170&sr=1-1&keywords=glass+pint+bottle

If you don't want to buy six and instead you want to just try one out, you can get a single bottle here: https://www.amazon.com/Glass-Water-Bottle-Virtually-Unbreakable/dp/B01800IHXI/ref=sr_1_2?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1468374170&sr=1-2&keywords=glass+pint+bottle

The cap looks like crap, but I've had no problem with them leaking and they actually fit quite nicely. I really like them. I just wash them out at the end of every day using a bottle brush. No weird smells in my experience. I use Schmilk which fits well into a 16 oz bottle...not sure about a serving of Soylent.

u/_mischief · 2 pointsr/xxfitness

Search for oil dispenser on Amazon. You can set it so that you know your pour is X tsps or tbsps. It makes it easier to use so you don't have to get a measuring spoon.

Something like this.

u/JohnoTheFoolish · 2 pointsr/EatCheapAndHealthy

An aerosol oil sprayer might work for you. They're hand pumped, so no propellant taste in the oil.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/Homebrewing

I was confused by the previous post saying "PBW will clean them". I use oxiclean and oxyclean interchangeably (aren't they the same thing)?

I got about 4 cases of empties that I plan to de-label over the weekend, and here's my plan:

  1. Soak everything in oxyclean overnight
  2. Scrub off any remaining glue.
  3. Use a jet bottle washer to get all the junk out.
  4. Leave bottle to dry on a bottle tree
  5. On bottling day use vinator filled with starsan to sanitize the inside
  6. Leave on bottle tree until I am ready to fill it.
u/bastardos · 2 pointsr/bartenders

you can probably put it into a mister like this: http://www.amazon.com/Cuisipro-Stainless-Steel-Spray-Non-Aerosol-Mister/dp/B00009V4CA/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1411418214&sr=1-1&keywords=cuisipro+mister

should work with grain alcohol bitters too. I used to caramelize limes with sugar and some bitters with something like this for a show, before tossing them into a caddyscratch margarita to shake.

u/mynameisjonas · 0 pointsr/food

you can buy a pump spray like this (but much cheaper at Target or Walmart) that you refill with spray and is non aerosol because it's hand pumped. Easy peasy.
Also, olive oil is delicious and all but it has a really low burn temp. so it's not that fantastic to use for cooking.

u/Headsupmontclair · 1 pointr/Homebrewing

oxiclean soak followed by a long hot blast from a [carboy/bottler washer] (https://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Steel-Carboy-Bottle-Washer/dp/B003H84UD0)

u/MoonOverJupiter · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I just use a standard kitchen oil dispensing bottle. It lives right on my bathroom sink counter.

u/NinjaAmbush · 2 pointsr/cider

I use one of these bad boys on a cordless drill, using oxiclean. These are also really useful for rinsing.

u/rdcpro · 1 pointr/Homebrewing

IMO, true sterilization is difficult for a homebrewer to do, because it requires an autoclave. For lab ware, a pressure canner will work (not a pressure cooker, which doesn't go high enough). But that's not practical for bottles, and possibly unsafe because they're just cheap glass.

That said, homebrewers don't need to be sterile, and hot kill works great. That's how I sanitize my fermenter on brewday--run boiling water through the spray ball and out the bottom dump valve until the whole thing comes up over 180F for 10 minutes.

For bottles, a soak in 160F PBW in your kettle should be sufficient to clean them. I would finish with a good rinsing via a faucet mounted bottle cleaner and spray with star-san or saniclean, or even a chlorine based sanitizer, and let the air dry upside down in a fast rack or bottle tree.

If you've got some nasty stuff stuck inside, one of these can help blast it out: http://www.amazon.com/Jet-Carboy-Bottle-washer-rinser/dp/B003H84UD0

u/ameoba · 1 pointr/NoStupidQuestions

it's probably overkill for a single bottle but they make things that will shoot water up into bottles for you.

Our refillable olive oil container has a measuring cap. (This thing.)

The only fat-containing items I'm guessing are dinner protein (I always get a pound of fish, beef, etc. and cut it almost in half, with the larger portion going to my partner) and how much milk is in my skim latte. It is possible that I'm overeating protein but at worst, that's an additional 100-200 calories.

Literally the only other thing I could think of is I might eat too much fruit, if you consider tomato plus the fruit in my green juice plus 2-3 fruit-based snacks?
