For reference I'm 5'4" and 145lbs but I weighed max 160 at the time of purchasing some of these items. I wear a size 29 jeans but sometimes I need a 30 or 28 depending on the cut/style. I am a 36c so sometimes finding shirts that fit is a mission. Hope this helps

Off shoulder dress. I use belt so I have a nicer shape. The girls fit nicely and the belt is a must so I don't feel like I'm wearing a poncho.

You will never have the perfect garb at your first event, but you can have some pretty cool garb.

I recommend contacts, black out contacts if you can afford them. They can give you some big wow points

Practice makeup the weeks before. A lot of the characters personality will come from the face. YouTube tutorials. I liked this one: https://youtu.be/Xzm9nzAQe4U, but if it's an outdoor or combat larp it may not be appropriate.

Next I will recommend a corset. Corsets are easy to buy, comfortable, and sexy as hell no matter your shape. Here's an example of what I would look into getting: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ESYASXM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_k-xJxb81BDKWY

Last depends on the character's personality. You can either do a skirt or pants. I'd do a pair of pleather pants because that's the type of character I play. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U83KYIM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_uiyJxbMK49XWC

Something else you could look into is hair. I'd dye my hair black and spike it, but my hair is short. You could also look into getting a wig. Sometimes you can get the look you want without a wig which is what I'd recommend if you can. Long and straight is a classic, but high ponytail is dominatrixy.

Tit-bits here and there can really make a character shine. Pop into your local thrift store to check out belts, jewelry, and non costume props like a goblet or black leather boots.

Head jewelry is a must for any princess. Something like this maybe: https://www.etsy.com/listing/202284704/gold-headdress-gold-head-chain-boho

Add some sculpy horns. There are so many tutorials on this. If you're budget is a little more fluffy buy some horns like: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003JH8T9A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_0uyJxb2CTFW3A I'd spray paint them to look like bone and reenforce the horns with clips and better elastic for active wear.

Fangs might be a good idea too. I normally use scarecrow brand for those. They're inexpensive and look good. It's a good bang for your buck

Really what it comes down to is the characters purpose and personality. I'd do a combat succubus because that's what I would enjoy playing (lust and wrath are easy for me). You could also do an extremely useful vain daemon and be painfully georgeous, you could never do combat and get away with a lot better costuming. I don't know what your budget is either. I normally drop $100 on any character I start, but you could be rich. I don't know.

I'd say that going for a (mostly) black outfit maybe your best shot at looking professional while also being able to mix in your personal style.

Regarding shirts, this black floaty top will certainly look smart when paired with something like a simple pencil skirt (which is petite too! and elasticated so it'll be comfortable to move around in)

I'd pair these with a pair of simple black or sheer pantyhose, a blazer in any style really, you can't go wrong with an all black outfit and some simple brogues. You can add further personal touches with your hair and jewellery.

If it was something a little more covered up this shirt is pretty good for that.

And to make it a little more casual a cardigan (1) (2) would be a good way to go.

And, lastly, for trousers, these look pretty good and as they are juniors they should fall a little shorter.

Obligatory, Working in my birthday suit and good luck! I hope you find something :)

This top

With these pants

And this blazer

and to top it off...

get these pumps

It doesn't even break the bank and with all the colors you can mix and match and accessorize with jewelry and look different every day.

This outfit goes from the board room to the dance floor with ease. Also, they are durable as hell, for instance, the white one of the tank top I spilled an entire glass of red wine on while I was dancing the night away after work. Threw it in the wash after throwing some shout on it - like brand new.

I also try to stick to chiffon for shirts for two reasons. First, they lay nicely on everyone, and second, if you spill something on it, you can run to the bathroom, shout pen it, rinse, and then stick it under the hand dryer and it's like you never spilled your coffee on you for the millionth time this year. (This will also work for pit stains if it gets too hot, have your friend hold the door, take off the shirt, run it under the hand dryer, LIKE NEW.)

These items go on sale ALL the time at Amazon. I only buy the tank tops when they are $7.99 for instance. Install camel camel on your browser and set a price watch for them.

Bonus, if you're in a colder room and the tank isn't your thing, you can substitute this blouse, which also looks amazing on everyone and professional AF

Another bonus, if the boot cut pants are too "professional", you can dress the tops down with jeans or these leggings which manage to hold you in all day long without riding down.

I am obsessed with Amazon style in general. Almost everything has free returns if you have prime, so I order a ton of stuff, see what fits, and then send back what I don't like. It's great. People compliment me on my outfits all the time and I am like muahahhahahhaha, I didn't even pay a ton of money for this. <3

I travel a ton for work and these have been my workhorses:

u/ediblesprysky · 3 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Ahh, gotcha! That makes a lot of sense. And hey, needing to shop in Rome is an okay problem to have ;) This is an excellent formula for a small travel capsule that you can adjust for your needs.

So if you're going to be going into any of the churches, you can't show your knees or your shoulders, so dress with that in mind. (I kept a lightweight cardigan in my purse and wore a midi skirt and a tank.) Jeans were torturously hot, especially since basically nowhere had air conditioning. I went in late July, though, so it might not be as bad right now. But honestly, I wouldn't be too worried about being too casual. It didn't matter for all the touristy stuff, and even the Italians were very casual (tee shirts and jeans, sundresses, etc) in most of the restaurants we went to. One or two nicer outfits and you should be fine.

I would bring a couple of jersey midi skirts (like one, two, three) instead of jeans. As for pants, I'd go for basically anything lighter than jeans (one, two, three, four). Some light dresses would be great, too, since I find dresses are a really easy way to look put-together with minimal effort. I love this, this, or this (if you're in the market to spend $500 on a dress, I don't know your life). Finish up with a few tops and cardigans and you should be good to go.

Have a great time!!!

Hello!

I recently purchased a bunch of these [pants] (https://www.amazon.com/LEE-Womens-Petite-Eased-Tailored/dp/B074Y1SK4G/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1) in multiple colors (navy, black, grey, khaki, olive, and light blue). They're very comfortable and as a short woman who lifts weights, I struggle to find pants that fit me well. I also got a bunch of these simple [short sleeve tops] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071ZX3JWB/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s05?ie=UTF8&psc=1) (olive, dark grey, light grey, and black).

I'd love some input about how I should wear these. Did I do a good job? I'm a bit of a tomboy, so I'd love some advice! https://imgur.com/a/BTIFtx5

I work in science, so the dress code is super casual. I'm 5'4" and pretty hourglass shaped.

Thanks :)

We have similar taste in a way!

I dabble more in Victorian-era style clothing, but retro-ish things find their way into my wardrobe and wishlist sometimes as well.

Some things I think you would like: These cute space-themed tights, another cute pair of tights, high-waisted shorts, way cute dress, just trust me on these capris, frilly socks, and a graphic tee for good measure.

u/unicornfairymermaid · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

You could also consider wearing harem pants, palazzo pants, things like that. I have a pair of pants that look like a super flowy skirt, and something like those would be perfect for you. Also, your leg is beautiful! I love the artwork!

Here's a link to similar pants, I got mine at Earthbound Trading Company in the clearance section. If you have a store like that you could go to, I'd definitely suggest it. They have flowy clothes galore. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LN5PXX4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9ZWVCbNSVSREM

u/Dracofaerie2 · 2 pointsr/BusinessFashion

I will admit to being 100% against black clothing. It's too hot to suffer through the 1/2 mile to my car after work. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your T-shirt and blazer idea.

I bought this pair last week.

I used Amazon's Wardrobe function to get these.

u/geometric_kitten · 6 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Joggers and linen pants!! I was a skinny-jeans-only person for years but finally branched out into some looser pants last summer and I absolutely love them. I have these joggers (I got mine at Kohl's) and these linen-blend pants and love to style them with a fitted tank top, usually half-tucked in, and a breezy shirt over that if I need more layers. These outfits are SO comfy but, in my opinion, make me look a lot more stylish and put-together than jeans and a t-shirt. This year I'd like to graduate to these linen pants from notperfectlinen - I just got a dress from them and the linen is incredibly soft and comfortable.

u/elle___ · 17 pointsr/TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

Ooo I love looking for outfits/shoes. Do you watch 'The Bachelorette'? I just started watching it since I've heard so much about it, and there is an outfit Hannah wore on one of her dates that I think would look really great style-inspo for court in the summer (and other occasions), in a modified version. Here's a picture of it, obviously you would want a shirt different from a crop-top and longer pants.

I'm looking on Amazon since they ship quickly.

Pants: Here's one that has an array of cute long, striped, loose fitting pants in different lengths, colors and patterns. Loose/long would absolutely cover your ankle accessories :)

Shirts: You could do a loose fitting collared shirt that is still cute/trendy tucked in, depending on the pants. This shop (is that what you call it on Amazon? Or seller?) has all different colors and styles. Another style that ties at waist or could be tucked in. (Other styles: Belle-Sleeves , Classy 3/4 Chiffon ).

Shoe Ideas: - Standard Black Pump that's not overly tall (I remember Oprah saying everyone should own a classic black pump and a pair of leopard print flats and it always stuck with me-- I'm surprised how many times I've ended up wearing both).

- Classic Summer Strappy Heels

- Steve Madden 'Dress Sandal' Heels

- More of a Chunky/Summer Heel

- Simple Black Flats (Pointed toe) //Simple Black Flats (Rounded Toe) // Simple Black Flats "Lacey"

Editing to add other things I'm finding while browsing. These are 3/4 Sleeved Lightweight Blazers that would be great for summer and come in every color under the rainbow. You could even wear it over some type of wide legged jumpsuit if you found the right one that had more of a simple top part.

Sending you a 🌟 Lucky Court Star 🌟

u/mikmaq_paddywhack · 8 pointsr/egg_irl

I got this pair for like $15 I think and they fit really well, plus I also got these and these, which are kind of more femme and brightly colored but they fit nicely.

u/cp311 · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I'm not the OP, but would Dickies pants or something similar be up to safety standards? I have some of their cargo pants (this pair in olive green, you can see them here too) that are relatively flattering on me and have held up well through field work. They also make styles without cargo pockets. I'm assuming they would be office appropriate in this situation since you can wear jeans.

Please be more sarcastic tho. I found these with a simple Google search. I'm sure there are more. I can talk to the like 2 women in my life who actually care to buy pants that have larger pockets at the expense of looking sexy all the damn time. Because that's often the price you pay. Because large pockets aren't sexy.

I maintain you'd look fucking fabulous in this. Just saying.
