The existing cables were long enough with the risers, but looking back at the order, they were 2" risers:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FAVW9LC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I removed the metal cable guide of the clutch cable, but all original cables still reach fine.

The other item I found to be a great help was a throttle lock to give the throttle hand a break on long trips:

u/daniell61 · 1 pointr/motorcycles

those levers are these which these are the cheaper kind.

the kind you have might be legit's....

do yours wiggle per chance? like up and down? thats the only thing staying my impulse buy....the possibility of the dreaded wiggle. had a dirtbike with a wiggley clutch. no thank you. :l

and nice to see you like em! I love the look of shorties. and that red is fabulous on your bike.

u/pickandpray · 1 pointr/Fixxit

i purchased that one and used it for a few years until I decided I wanted an adjustable lever setup. So I purchased and installed this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Sporacingrts-Cylinder-Reservoir-Motorcycle-125-600CC/dp/B07G982ZYS/ref=sr_1_56_sspa?keywords=shorty+brake+clutch+master&qid=1563230566&s=gateway&sr=8-56-spons&psc=1

the adjusters are crap, but if you tighten the adjusters real good it's not terrible. I have another set of levers on order to replace them but adjustable is much nicer than that first option you posted.

Get a handle on your piston sizes so you understand what size master cylinder will work for you. My 750 has upgraded dual piston single caliper on the front and I'm running a 1/2" master cylinder. Dual calipers will prob need a larger master cylinder like 14mm

u/SgtBaxter · 2 pointsr/cycling

These will fit them just fine

Although I'd suggest getting better brake handles. I got some Shimano 600 drilled off eBay for $15 in pristine condition, but that was blind luck because other auctions had them selling for $50+, Now I see them for $130.

There are also retro looking modern handles that are supposed to work really really well and aren't terribly expensive . It's a worthwhile upgrade.

Levers are very easy to replace. You can get:
OEM replacements from Partzilla, AVS or CRG RC2 levers from DROWsports, Steady Garage, Hard Racing etc.

I went with a cheap set off Amazon that someone had recommend on the HGN forum. The fit perfectly and work as you’d expect them.

u/StaRn3ss · 1 pointr/Kawasaki

So, I got mine from amazon here

I personally never had issues, I quite like these levers. I even had a mechanic check it out. Now there are like 100's of variations of a similar design, but the one I have seems to be decent, and has great reviews on amazon.

u/Firby03 · 1 pointr/motorcycles

I picked up these a about two months back. No complaints, super easy install. They look really nice and are a lot more comfortable than the stock ones on my 300F.

I've had These Pazzo wannabes on both my CBR and VFR for over a year now. Looks great, operates as they should and the price is definitely right. As soon as I find a set to fit the Triple, I'll be getting a 3rd pair.

u/ligglo · 1 pointr/motorcycles

This is where I got them from. Aliexpress wasn't my first choice but I took a chance and it worked! Also here are the levers, mirrors, and grips I installed too. These are fit for the Z900 only, so they probably won't fit a different bike, but I am sure they make something for it.

u/Chappssss · 1 pointr/CB500X

There's a left and a right lever, at least with aftermarket ones. These are the ones I got and I absolutely love them. There's similar pairs for less than $20. I think it's one of the best mods because it's cheap, looks really good, and easy to put on. As far as the stock ones go I would just call Honda and see if they're reversible but I don't think they are

u/AlaskanST · 1 pointr/FZ07

Looking at buying these for my ‘17 and the reviews are mostly good but I’ve seen some 1 or 2 star reviews saying these shorty levers locked up the front wheel and it’s giving me second thoughts.
Anyone here own these? Let me know how you like them

I have these on mine and they work great. just had to tighten some of the bolts on the levers to prevent them from shaking around. Install takes 10 mins tops.

Hey everyone! Has anyone used these cheaper clutch/brake levers with any success? I just purchased a 2014 Street Triple R and am looking to get shorty clutch/brake levers and was eying either of these:

u/Cmille19 · 0 pointsr/motorcycles

So I ordered these levers off amazon and they arrived today. I figured for $34 i could afford the mistake if they were bad. First thing I would like to comment on is the prompt shipping. I placed my order one week ago and they arrived today, even though amazon said they wouldn't arrive until atleast september 1st. They came boxes up in a nice box with some instructions and some stickers, so I was pleased by the overall appearance of the product. I opened and played with them a bit be for work today and they feel of high quality, so im not afraid of them breaking. The finish is also very nice on this.

Overall I would recommend these to some one who likes the look of the levers but doesnt want to fork out $300 for some asv levers.

u/nighthawk650 · 2 pointsr/motorcycles

Yeah since you noted those i looked up the other prices...

levers are $15, not $100
https://www.amazon.com/Black-Adjustable-Motorcycle-Clutch-Levers/dp/B00CQNEZ5U

tires are $160 for the pair... not $400.

Looks like he's covering labor prices as well...

u/mfairplay · 1 pointr/HondaCB

Here's one of Amazon that appears to be the same as the 4-into-1 and it's <$19 before a $4 coupon. Reviews are good too. That was the first one I found without really trying. There might be other (better) options and it is Prime Day, so maybe there's even a deal too. MC

u/StManTiS · 5 pointsr/motorcycles

I would go to ex500.org and register on the forums first. Anyways here's my top mods:

  • Replaced clutch springs with stiffer ones - this helps at higher RPMs because the stock ones start weak and get weaker with age $10.80

  • Replaced rear shock with stocker from a new gen ninjette because it's a lot stiffer and raises the bike a bit $49.99

  • Removed the pair system because it does nothing good and with exhaust it makes popping noises $15.00

  • K&N air filter installed and drilled 4 Half Inch holes in the left side of airbox $49.99

  • Airbox mod requires carb tweaking so I opened up the carbs and rebuilt them for reliability $45

  • Got some shorty levers 36.99

  • Replaced stock ignition with Coil on Plug type ignition for an '08 ZX6R - prices vary but i got mine for 40 bucks including harness.

  • New sparks gapped at .30" $8.10

  • Higher quality front brakes $32.00

  • Oil changed to Shell Rotella T $19.16

  • Avon Roadrider tires big upgrade over stock. Prices vary I got mine for 350 installed both front and rear

  • Best for last: Racetech .90kg/mm springs with gold valves $300

I just completed my list of aesthetic mods and I figured I'd share it with you all!

Since I bought my bike (09 SV650A) last May, I have made a few aesthetic mods:

u/solitudechirs · 2 pointsr/motorcycles

You can get aftermarket levers that allow you to adjust where they rest. You can also adjust the friction zone of the stock clutch lever because it's a cable lever, but it's still going to rest where it does now, far from the bar. There's this type of lever where you turn the dial and it has a few settings that you can set it to, or this type that allows for more fine tuning as you turn the screw on those.
