Yea I've had the.. unfortunate privilege of watching a few friends go down on their bikes and get rashed up. I carry bandaids, cleaning alcohol, wrap and gauze, and some other little things that would help keep people from bleeding until help arrives or if they're brave enough to let me clean the road rash haha.

Also this neat thing is really cool to have on a bike for easy jump starts, easy battery tender for the winter, and can also buy the more expensive kit for a phone charge + jumpers.

>AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

I just want to take this chance to say how amazing Amazon customer service is. Last week I ordered a new Kryptonite disc lock (after a few years my old one started to suck). Somehow I received a Ryzen 1700X CPU instead. I contacted Amazon and they overnighted my lock and said I could keep the CPU as a "gift."

The best part is that I was planning on a Ryzen build but two weeks ago my old bike kicked the bucket so I had to use the funds I was going to spend on the new PC on getting a new bike.

So, thanks Amazon! It might just be a write-off to you but it was a really big deal to me :)

pretty sure these are the ones, inexpensive and they have a good battery life, not super long but good enough for a few hours of riding time... at first it was a little annoying and they didn't seem like they were a perfect fit but if I just wiggle my helmet a little bit once its on, my ears are not crimped and im good to go

u/intermaggio · 2 pointsr/snowboarding

Your link doesn't work for me, but I think these are what you're talking about?

Looks pretty awesome, and it's tempting me to finally buy a smartphone :)

u/SqueakyHuevos · 1 pointr/motorcycles

If its just for you and a passenger then I'd suggest these

https://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Bluetooth-Communication-Interphone-Walkie-Talkie/dp/B07HK9X34Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?keywords=motorcycle+bluetooth+communicator+2+pack&qid=1572206103&sr=8-6

I have them on helmets I use with just me and a passenger. They work well and aren't too expensive. They're also good for phone calls and GPS Nav from my phone.

For rider to rider comms, I'd go with a Sena. I have a Sena 30k that I've been using with my group of friends and over the last year its been great! But the cost is pretty high

u/lizzim280 · 1 pointr/motorcycles

I've used a nav before, but I honestly found it to be more distracting than helpful. That's just me. How about this one? It's not waterproof but you can stuff into a waterproof case like this. You want one that's quick and easy to use, no unnecessary gimmicks. Also, have you tried using your phone's nav?

u/dude_pirate_roberts · 1 pointr/bicycling

I looked at this, found Interphone products on Amazon, but I don't think they were from the company you linked to, and they were expensive, like this one. [I have to find products like this on Amazon because I want to read the reviews before I buy.]

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

u/09RaiderSFCRet · 1 pointr/motorcycle

Looks like a standard Sena headset. I’m sure your friend will give you a deal, 1/2 off or better. Amazon has it for $233. www.amazon.com/dp/B00L15WWCW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SImvDbNSA71DZ

u/addy8 · 3 pointsr/MotoUK

Alarm no, GPS tracker yes. (if you are buying from a dealer you can often get a tracker thrown in or at least a very high discount)

At home you want a ground anchor with a high quality chain like a Pragmasis or Almax (16 or 19mm) and a high quality disk lock.

Fore when you park on the street take a 13mm Pragmasis noose chain, a high quality disk lock like a Abus 8077 and a cover like Oxford Aquatex.

Getting security at first seems expensive but if you are investing a few thousand on a bike then you need to invest a good % on security.

u/NIWID_Sysadmin · 1 pointr/motorcycles

I bought this a few months ago: https://www.amazon.com/FreedConn-Motorcycle-Bluetooth-Communication-connective/dp/B06XF9RWNR/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=freedconn&qid=1568325924&s=automotive&sr=1-6

It works well for 2 people, but has had some wear and tear issues. I am upgrading to a set up Cardo PackTalks. All of my research says that this has the better pairing tech right now, but im sure we'll see new verisons from sena and cardo in the next year or so. My research has also told me that while you might be able to get different brands to pair, its usually not reliable and doenst work well. Go Cardo or Sena.

u/60PercentLeft · 2 pointsr/motorcycles

This isn't the one I bought, but it looks pretty similar. I reckon anything that clamps to the bars (not with any sort of quick release) and has redundant security for the phone would work. I've taken mine off-road and do some spirited riding with it.

Yes, tapping the wires onto the cigarette lighter outlet is perfectly fine since they are on their own circuit. Use something like this to hard wire into the cigarette socket.

u/ka36 · 7 pointsr/Cartalk

Try a motorcycle alarm in the driver's side door pocket (and leave the door unlocked). The cheap ones are about $10, but are still loud enough to possibly get them to move on after opening the door. [This] (https://www.amazon.com/Mengshen-Wireless-Vibration-Motorcycle-Anti-Theft/dp/B00QIEVI4E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537238528&sr=8-1&keywords=motorcycle+alarm) is one I used for a while (on an actual motorcycle), and I was pretty happy with it. Battery only lasted about 3 months though.

u/kalleina · 1 pointr/pokemongo

I use a Widras one that is amazing -> link

I have a One Plus 2 phone with a case that I use with it and its been really good so far in being able to securely hold my phone while biking around.

u/TeamRocketBadger · 2 pointsr/motorcycles
  1. Have it looked over by a mechanic or someone who knows what they are doing to evaluate issues from previous owner.

  2. If you hate the stock grips you can get Driven D3 grips they are fatter and make it easier to grip. More feel. The blinkers will take time and practice. You open your hand and slide your thumb across to use it without removing your hand from the bar. You will get good at doing this over time, don't make it a priority. Focus on riding and do it as much as possible withou affecting your ability to steer.

  3. Theres all kinds of aftermarket stuff out there. Stuff like this http://www.amazon.com/Koso-KN002000-Indicator-Model-Specific/dp/B00T6J4ORQ/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1449821980&sr=8-4&keywords=gear+indicator+motorcycle

There may also be an aftermarket cluster for it.

Definitely take the MSF course. Nerves will go with time. Where most new riders mess up is trying to go too fast before they are ready. Take it real slow and leave your ego at home.
u/newmdog · 1 pointr/motorcycles

I got this one [ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P7TF67H?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share ] but the main thing I wanted out of it was to listen to music and the gps lady, and phone calls werent a big priority for me. If you want better quality on the phone calls, I'd assume that a more expensive model would be a better idea

u/Pinkytheck16 · 1 pointr/Dualsport

Its actually black, but yes they're just el cheapo boss handlebar speakers that I found in Walmart. They have a built in amp and bluetooth. They're decent for being 60-70$ but definitely don't hear them at highway speed where they're located, I just didn't have room on the bars for them. Here's an Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GBHLDNB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_D17XCbTS6655Z

u/Villeo · 2 pointsr/Harley

I went super cheap with my setup. I used my existing full face helmet that had enough room to throw in some snowboarding helmet speakers (i think they were skullcandy). Along with a little bluetooth receiver which i velcroed to the back of the helmet....this was done about 6 years ago and now there are all in one units that do the same thing for cheap like:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0796Q99F5/ref=psdc_3248694011_t1_B01N4NUJXO

I don't call people while riding so i don't care about microphone clarity.

u/sv650nyc · 1 pointr/motorcycles

Look into Scala Freerider instead. From what I've read it's better quality than the over-hyped Sena. It can communicate with Sena comms as well.

If you want one just for the audio features, a $57 Freedconn T-COM-SC for $57 will be good enough.

u/-Kevin- · 5 pointsr/motorcycles

Do I need a fuse for a USB charger?

https://www.amazon.com/MICTUNING-Adapter-Waterproof-Motorcycle-Cellphone/dp/B01MSK7ZAV/ref=sr_1_17?keywords=motorcycle+usb&qid=1557912571&s=gateway&sr=8-17

Does that...matter? I know what a fuse does, and I realize we're directly hooking a battery to my cell phone. So it seems like it has value, but none of the other products have one. Is it not needed?

u/project13k · 4 pointsr/motorcycles

I’ve been using this headset for the last four years. I love it. I’m not sure why this new version has a screen on it but no biggie. I listen to music while riding at highway speed. Starts to become harder to hear above 60mph with a windy helmet. I’d recommend it 1,000 times over. $60...

https://www.amazon.com/Communication-FreedConn-TCOM-SC-Motorcycle-Range-800M/dp/B013JUCMW6/ref=mp_s_a_1_fkmrnull_3?crid=1IOXV7ZL3X3WM&keywords=buyee+bluetooth+motorcycle&qid=1555361724&s=gateway&sprefix=buyee&sr=8-3-fkmrnull

u/xrayvision1 · 2 pointsr/motorcycles

This seems to fit you requirements:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P7TF67H/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza

"When you listening to music, you can press the Switch/Intercom button, BT-S2 will automatically pause the music, and enter the intercom call state. When you press the Switch/Intercom button again, the intercom will be disconnected, and the music will automatically resume playing."

u/---Crash--- · 1 pointr/motorcycles

So far until a better idea is proposed my two favourite options are:

1- Directly on the battery. MICTUNING SAE to USB Cable Adapter SAE Quick Disconnect 2.1A Waterproof USB Port with Inline Fuse, Socket Cable 12V-24V for Motorcycle Cellphone Tablet GPS More https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MSK7ZAV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_YugNzbZ6N1N0E

2- Factory conector the bike harness. http://www.nippynormans.com/gps-accessories/lead-for-connecting-any-garmin-or-tomtom-gps-into-the-bmw-harness
And USB adaptor wired the above mentioned conector. Modified Part, RAXFLY Universal 5V 2.1A Car Charger Power Socket Plug Adapter [ Waterproof ][ Easy Installation ][ Dual USB Ports ]for 12-24V Car Motorcycle Boat RV Vehicle & iPhone iPad Samsung etc https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M4RW6MR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_.KgNzbREMAW2H

I would like to hear pros and cont, specially regarding rain and inadvertent battery discharging due to the installation.

Obviously the first option is simpler, but I don't want to have extra cabling and I am specially worried about battery drainage.

Edited: To extent my comment.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0796Q99F5?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

It’s fairly inexpensive, doesn’t get in the way of anything and battery life is great. I charge it once a week or so and it can last on standby for hours. I often use it in conjunction with google map directions or if I have to take a call on the road. The volume is a bit low at times if you’re going really fast or there’s a strong headwind, but otherwise no issues!

u/clinton-dix-pix · 1 pointr/motorcycles

Get a covered USB port and only plug in the charger cable when you need it?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MSK7ZAV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_gkjNAbC0BSFXX

u/DamngedEllimist · 2 pointsr/motorcycles

I use [this] (http://www.amazon.com/UClear-HBC100-Bluetooth-Helmet-Communicator/dp/B004QF0XZW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1369556564&sr=8-1&keywords=u-clear+hbc100) for both my helmet, and my wife's helmet. I caught them on-sale for $99 bucks a piece I believe.

u/blah_itsx · 1 pointr/fz6

the sae is just a common connector type. this is the connector that i have leading to my battery:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MSK7ZAV

basically the usb component has a resistor in there that's slowly draining your battery. a physical switch will completely break the connection to the battery

u/Trazac · 2 pointsr/motorcycles

The highest quality is going to be some normal headphones. I have a pair of these guys that I can just slip my helmet over. (If you look around these headphones can be had for about $5-$8 and are phenomenal at this price.) I keep my phone in my pocket and it works well. The real issue is that it's kind of illegal in many parts of the country.

There are also wired helmet speakers which I don't know much about. Ryan F9 has some recommendations. Both of these options don't have the advantage of having a microphone, so you can't make or take phone calls.

I have one of these as well. They're kind of quiet and sound like total garbage but I keep it so I can make phone calls from my bike when I need to.
