🎓 Reddit experts on protective body equipment
The comments and opinions expressed on this page are written exclusively by redditors. To provide you with the most relevant data, we sourced opinions from the most knowledgeable Reddit users based the total number of upvotes and downvotes received across comments on subreddits where protective body equipment are discussed. For your reference and for the sake of transparency, here are the specialists whose opinions mattered the most in our ranking.
1- Vests and armour may be thick but trust me when you get hit you'll know your hit, there's a specific sound that you'll hear, it also has a specific feeling that is unmistakably a hit, the only thing you may not feel are really weak ricochets, vests are good cause they protect the torso but if your arms are being lit up then try getting some paint ball arm guards, A lot of guys run them at my field and their low profile and if you get a hard plastic one you'll still know your hit.
Summary here, If your getting shot up I'd invest in a Vest and Paintball Arm guards
https://www.amazon.ca/YAKEDA-Tactical-Outdoor-Equipment-tactical/dp/B01LLEVBEW/ref=sr_1_5?crid=IDNZPIEKKH4H&keywords=yakeda+tactical+vest&qid=1549594740&sprefix=yakeda+%2Caps%2C198&sr=8-5
This one is pretty good from what I've heard and I know that if you wait it will go on sale

2 - This one may sound a little weird but a shop called Badlands Paintball generally has sales on different stuff for really cheap, Hero Outdoors is a shop in Canada as well and you may be able to pick up some good deals from their Tactical Tuesday deals

3 - If your not aiming well with Iron sights I wouldn't count on getting a sight to improve accuracy marginally. I suggest getting a better mask because it was probably the lack of being able to line up shots that was giving you problems. I suggest the OneTigris Foldable face mask, it's a good price and a good fit, I personally enjoy using it
https://www.amazon.ca/OneTigris-Foldable-Protection-Military-Protective/dp/B078MLSMBC/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=onetigris+mask&qid=1549595079&sr=8-6
I personally like the ear protector version but you can get one without ear protectors.

However if you truly want to change out the sight then the one I have these to:
I have something similar to this one, It's a nice Style of sight because the reticle is the same size no matter where you put it, This style the Replica 552 styles also take AA batteries so that's a bonus
https://www.amazon.ca/Holographic-Reflex-Tactical-Adjustable-Brightness/dp/B078S75HY3/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=552+sight&qid=1549595211&sr=8-4

This one is good because it has a small dot and isn't tinted as much, but doesn't take AA batteries
https://www.amazon.ca/RioRand-Tactical-Green-Cantilever-Reflex/dp/B01HTEHGO2/ref=sr_1_13?keywords=red+dot&qid=1549595188&sr=8-13

4 -Generally your glasses shouldn't be fogging, or at least mine don't, I use guard dog evader 2 goggles however I might recommend finding a pair like the Revision Desert Locust because they have dual pane (Thermal Lenses) should stop goggle fog however if fogging on the glasses is a problem maybe you could use Scuba/Snorkel solutions for anti fog

5 - My tips for being successful at airsoft
Any and all questions about materials, methods, and possible complications are very welcome! I will be at work all day but when I get home I will be sure to answer as many as I possibly can!
I got almost everything from Amazon in one big order (I looked through each product's list of prices and origin to find the cheapest one). Everything else like the athletic tape, brads for the belts, the old white T-shirt for the arm wrap, boots and makeup I already owned or are very easy to find.
The pants were a pair of orange Stone Touch cargo capri shorts from Amazon, slightly lighter orange than I wanted but it would still look fine without the tea staining like I did. They could also just be dirtied up with some makeup or real dirt to get a good effect.
The gloves were brown, unlined leather driving gloves from Amazon. Amazon has a universal sizing chart they use to size jackets, pants and gloves, and I found it to size pretty true, if not a bit small for gloves. I got the smallest size that would still fit me so they would be skin tight and just broke them in. Note: these were the gloves that matched the psycho's best, but I saved a bit buying ones that were close enough.
The knee and elbow pads were Alta Tactical Superflex/AltaFlex pads from Amazon (one size, if I remember correctly)
The shins guards I got at Dick's Sporting Goods before I started looking online for all of the supplies. They were a pair of Umbro GT soccer guards (could only find the youth guards online, but any hard plastic shin guard will do).
As I said in the pictures, I used a plastic primer on the guards before the silver paint. There are probably many options for these paints, but the primer I used was Krylon Fusion For Plastic (Gloss, White). It said "Bonds to Plastic" at the top and "No Sanding or Priming" towards the bottom, both things I wanted. The paint I used was Krylon Dual Paint + Primer (Hammered Silver). For the paint to get the ideal texture, you need to get a good medium coat on; too light a coat and the effect doesn't happen, too heavy and the effect is flooded. You get a good idea after doing a couple of coats, it isn't too difficult.
The leather straps were made from some cheap buckle-less leather belts from Amazon. They were size 44 so I could have a lot of extra for vertical straps as well. I had enough, but I'm a skinny guy, so I guess it depends on how wide your thighs are.
The snaps for the arm wrap were a bit difficult to find, only since I had no idea what I was looking for. I went to a Michael's arts and crafts store, had to ask a couple people where I could find snap fasteners. They have a kind that you sew on (do not want) and the kind that you need a press or a tool for (these are the ones). As a word of advice, I needed to use needlenose pliers to spread the head of the protruding bottom section before hammering it down or else it just basically wanted to go back through the hole in the top part (you'll know what I'm talking about here only once you've tried to install a snap already).
And finally, the mask was the cheap latex one by Neca. I got it from Amazon along with pretty much everything else, but it's the only oficially licensed latex mask and you can find it at a lot of different places (I got it when it was on sale for $30).
As for the markers I used for the body lines, I used some black artist pens that I already owned (Faber-Castell 1,5 was the most useful, then M). I got them in an 8-piece pack from Michael's. The only reason I mention this is because the lines came off fairly easily in one shower (except near my arm pits, for some reason), and I don't know if you'd be able to say that about Sharpie lines.
One last note, I'm naturally a very hairy guy, and if you're like me, please shave your chest/stomach before trying to draw any lines on yourself; it won't work and you won't look like a psycho. Just a fuzzy weirdo. If you've never shaved your chest before, don't be ashamed to look up some tips, because it can go bad if you have no idea what you're doing and just jump into it (wicked razor burn, bleeding, ingrown hairs, etc).
Good luck and have fun!
Edit: Sorry if it seems like I'm karma-whoring, I just didn't want the How-To to get lost in the comments of my first post
Edit 2: I accidentally a spelling
fear cuts deeper than swords
1.) Something that is grey. probably the best thing invented.
2.) Something reminiscent of rain. who doesn't like doggy rain jackets? :3
3.) Something food related that is unusual. BACON
4.) Something on your list that is for someone other than yourself. Tell me who it's for and why. this item is something i would like to give to my boyfriend as a gift. he finally got his dream car on the road and we both love Judas priest.
5.) A book I should read! I am an avid reader, so take your best shot and tell me why I need to read it! this book is a classic. if you have seen the movie then the book is even better. along with my grandparents being back round actors in the original movie. look the book, love the movies.
6.) An item that is less than a dollar, including shipping... that is not jewelry, nail polish, and or hair related! cause its "cheap stuff"
7.) Something related to cats. I love cats! i would never get bored with this. or tiss on my wishlist :3
8.) Something that is not useful, but so beautiful you must have it. it's useless to me because i don't drink, but it's cool as fuck. (on wishlist, for my sister)
9.) A movie everyone should watch at least once in their life. Why? I loved this movie when i first watched it. it's interesting, keeps you watching and it doesnt start out boring like most "scary movies" do. it's a movie i would suggest to all. (on wishlist)
10.) Something that would be useful when the zombies attack. it explains itself.. but you can hold a lot of stuff while out hunting zombies!
11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals. my mother is a nail tech and i want to go to school as one so i can become one as well. this would help me become better at doing nails while i 'practice' on people.
12.) One of those pesky Add-On items. do you want a stinky toilet?
13.) The most expensive thing on your list. Your dream item. Why? i've always been a huge fan of sugar skulls and i would love this in my room. it's not a dream item but it is the highest priced item on my wishlist. i think it's beautiful.
14.) Something bigger than a bread box. on my wishlist. isn't it pretty? :)
15.) Something smaller than a golf ball. on my wishlist. " a golf ball weighs no more than 1.620 oz (45.93 grams), has a diameter not less than 1.680 in (42.67 mm)" my item is 1.25 in.
16.) Something that smells wonderful. i'm native american so i enjoy burning incense and sage. don't know about you, but it's a wonderful thing to me.
17.) A (SFW) toy. who doesn't like laser pointers? dog people. thats who.
18.) Something that would be helpful for going back to school. fuck, i'm 17 and i'd buy this for myself!
19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be. i'm obsessed with Judas Priest, as well as my boyfriend. i need to knew sweatshirt and i've been trying to convince my parents to get me this one. Turbo Love by Judas Priest is my boyfriend and I's song to each other, he just got his car on the road so his license plate is dedicated to that song. (wishlist item)
20.) Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand. you may not think this is so amazing, but holy shit who wouldn't want to fucking float on a donut? i mean paint yourself yellow and just call yourself mothafuckinnn homer simpson! or this you'd have the best skinny dip of your life!
this was really fun! thank you :)
Well, here's what I'd get if I was starting today:
Tippman Commando or Tippman Recon. I have no experience with the Recon, but it's their higher end model with quick change spring and mosfet. I'd love to try it, but I'd probably go with the Commando because I know it's solid.
9.6v nimh/smart charger - Just a standard battery and charger
G&P High RPS mags - I'm not sure which mags fit best in a Tippman, but G&P are usually a safe bet. They're usually a tight fit which usually means good feeding, and they're just good quality. I have had issues with fresh ones misfeeding the first few shots, but if you leave them fully loaded for a bit to wear the spring out a bit it should fix that.
Pyramex i-force - Just good and cheap goggles. Even though I use some fancy fan goggles now, I keep 3 pairs of I-forces in my bag in case I need to lend goggles out or I just feel like using them.
One Tigris mask - Just the best lower face mask. Also have a version with ear covers if you want that. For ear protection, I just use Howard Leights.
Mechanix M-pact gloves - I like them.
Condor Rapid Assault Chest rig - I like it.
Magpul RSA - Just a front sling point
LBX 2-point sling - I like mine.
Boots are really personal preference, but I love my Salomons
Airsoft can get pricey, but one thing that helps a lot is separating needs from wants. For example, you need a good gun that'll last you a while, but you don't need that $200 optic or that mock suppressor. You need something to hold your mags and stuff, but not that stupidly expensive Crye JPC plate carrier.
Now, onto the gear.
Gun - G&G Combat Machine Raider 16L - a really good starter gun that will last a while, as long as you take care of her (as with everything in airsoft). I'd recommend getting the charger and battery package because you'll need both and it saves you a decent amount of money.
Chest Rig - Condor Recon Chest Rig - my first chest rig. No idea how it's only $36, this thing is awesome. High quality and holds a lot of stuff, with room for more accessories. Only con is you can't remove the mag pouches it comes with. Also comes in a bunch of different colors, such as tan, black, and I think multicam.
Magazines - Evike BAMF 190 round Mid Caps - the cheapest midcaps I can find that are still good quality. Not the best on the market, but they get the job done and I've heard they feed well in Combat Machines. You'll also need a speed loader, which are only a couple bucks. One thing though, is that you don't really need a ton of magazines. If you're in a budget, one hi cap and a smart trigger finger can last you longer than you think. Sure, more magazines are always helpful, and if they're in your budget, go for it. But it won't hurt to wait a little, and save up some more money, and then buy them.
BBs - Check Evike and whatever other airsoft stores you shop at. I'd use .25s for the Combat Machine (maybe .28s later on), just check to see what is the best choice in terms of cost to amount. Also make sure they're high quality and not some Walmart $5 special.
Eye pro - Not Lancer Tactical goggles. Pyramex I Forces are a good choice.
Other stuff I'd recommend are gloves and a mesh mask. Gloves can really be any old mechanic/ work gloves you have lying around, or even some wool gloves that you cut the finger tips off. Anything to lessen the impact of a BB against your knuckle. The face masks are nearly essential in CQB so you don't get your tooth shot out - this one is only about $5 and can save you from a ton of expensive dental work.
Now, before you go ahead and add all this stuff to your cart, go to your local field and rent a gun for a day. If you like it, start saving. If you don't, then you just saved a couple hundred bucks. Don't dive head first only to realize it isn't as good as you thought it would be; there are many things that sound awesome on paper but once you actually do it, it's the worst thing ever. I'd hate to have you waste a bunch of money like that, especially if you're on a tighter budget.
Loose clothing will help. My advice is to look into a cheap outer carrier.
Yakeda sells some cheaper full wraparound vests that can help a lot with getting hit in the flanks. Amazon is selling them for about 67 bucks, so that's a cheap modular option for one stop shopping there. They're not great though. But if money is a concern it's one of the cheaper options available.
If you prefer, save up and get a better MOLLE carrier down the road, but a full wrap around style like this can really help. https://www.amazon.ca/YAKEDA-Tactical-Outdoor-Equipment-tactical/dp/B01LLEVBEW/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1Z270K5CRI3PL&keywords=yakeda+tactical+vest&qid=1571854194&sprefix=yakeda%2Caps%2C158&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyWVBRTFo4SFBEUDJQJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzEyMDk3OTE0V0RKODNIRDE2JmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAwMzcwNzUyU0hESUg0M0kwWkczJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
I play a lot of CQB and have had this issue getting shot up at close range in my fat love handles.... And it does hurt a lot.
Also get gloves. Don't be cheap. Buy a decent set of full coverage tactical gloves or Mechanic ones. Anything will provide better coverage than nothing, and your hands will thank you.
Build your kit gradually, but yeah, for now if budget is an issue, get gloves first, then maybe some kind of full wrap vest carrier, then add other kit as you want.
I also run a drop pouch that hangs off the front of my vest to protect the boys as well.
Ultimately, you're gonna sting no matter what. But mitigating that with some good PPE will make a huge difference in the long run.
Amazon isn't where I'd usually go for a vest, but there are some decent options. Condor isn't a fantastic brand (not great quality and durability), but they have some good options for a budget on Amazon. I think the Condor Rapid Assault chest rig is fairly popular and it has some pouches built in. The Condor Recon chest rig has more pouches built in.
People often don't get gear with pouches built in, because it gives you more space to put on and switch out whatever pouches you need at the moment. This is a little more expensive to get started with because you have to purchase the pouches separately, but it gives you more options in the future. This Condor chest rig is more like that, though if you really want a lot of space for pouches you should look into a plate carrier, which is bigger than a chest rig.
But for getting started, you probably don't need that many pouches. Do you have an M4? If you do, I'd suggest the Rapid Assault rig. It has M4 pouches built in which you can use but also has a decent amount of MOLLE space for adding your own pouches. It's a good balance.
Keep doing research, search for other threads like this on /r/airsoft. There might be some better quality options that I don't know about. Buying used is another option, it's harder but you might get a really good deal. Let me know if you have any other questions!
EDIT: /u/zxj4k3xz is correct in pointing out that you probably don't need one. If you're just using a rifle with a high-cap magazine (probably came with it) you won't have much use for a vest/etc. But when you buy mid-cap magazines, and if you use your pistol enough that you want to have it with you as well as your rifle, a chest rig is a good way to carry it (the pistol probably fits in a mag pouch fairly well) for much cheaper than a good holster (the cheap fabric ones are godawful, don't use them).
It sounds to me like you want to get some kind of construction kneepad since they have a flat front which is better for being on your knees for a long duration vs. "tactical"/military focused kneepads which are designed to stay on well while moving and give protection while transitioning into different firing positions in rough terrain.
Any of the mid priced options here will probably work fine for your purposes, you definitely want something with gel though.

As for military knee pads, my personal favorite is the Hatch X-Tak, and I am speaking as someone who has worn them for the past 6 years between being in the military, training after the military, and while hiking to keep my knees from getting wrecked while doing camp chores.
https://www.amazon.com/HATCH-Xtak-Knee-Pad-Black/dp/B01AJ5DNZ4/ref=sr_1_10?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1480215796&sr=1-10&keywords=hatch+xtak+knee+pads
I figured black would be more your speed, but the OD green is my favorite. Make sure you are getting the knee pads and not the elbow pads.
Anyways, cheers and I hope you find what you are looking for. Remember, soft front pads will wear out faster, but they might be easier to conceal/wear without distracting you with noise, etc.
Just wondering, do you have a budget in mind? If you do I could recommend stuff within that budget.
Edit: Anyways, here's what I would recommend just to start you off with:
M4 RIS
Magpul vertical grip
Red dot sight (for faster aiming)
Dye i4 Mask(These things never fog, fit glasses really well, and is low profile enough that you can still use the iron sights. I would recommend a beanie for head protection)
Condor Chest Rig(Not the best quality, but enough for Airsoft, also has MOLLE weaving so you can swap out the pouches for other MOLLE addons)
I would not recommend a sniper rifle because they need a lot of costly upgrades in order to be effective. Also playing the role of a sniper in a game is boring, you just sit back and shoot all day. You may get a lot of "kills" but in the end of the day, you're just robbing yourself of the fun/adrenaline rush of being on the front line.
Also I would not recommend a pistol until you really feel like you need one. Most of the time, especially if you play CQB, you're not going to run out of ammo any time soon, and your primary isn't going to suddenly die on you for the most part. If you do decide to buy one, I would recommend a Tokyo Marui pistol, even though it's plastic, it shoots the best out of the box and is super accurate, has crisp blowback, and they make unique pistols that other manufacturers don't make, also avoid the M92 like the plague, it's a lemon design. Echigoya
This is a pretty ideal beginner loadout. It'll also be good so you don't blow everything on the sport to find out you don't want to completely get into it. I'd say get this, maybe a cheap plate carrier and some pouches and roll with that for a bit, then alter your kit to how you want it to be.
Cheers man! Glad to see another in the sport
I like this little rig a lot, it's not too bad and it's decently constructed. Condor makes pretty good stuff for low price. Condor Recon Chest Rig (Tan) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0085Y4JF0/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_xLNmub13DEPN4
Also don't forget eye pro! What style do you like, mask or goggles?
I appreciate it. For the price chicom is awesome but would something like this be a solid buy? I like that it has mag pouches for the pistol as well, but do you think reloads would be made easier?

I already have a rig, this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0085Y4JF0/ref=twister_B07G7F8D7F?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have a few weapon attachments, as I was gonna buy an m27 from my friend but decided not to. I am missing safety gear (Googles, face protection) as well as proper clothing and footwear. So i got a few other investments to make.
And as far as budget 400 for rifle, pistol 100-ish(cheaper the better ), googles 100-200 unless I can find something better.
VISM AK Chest Rig - $20.
Absolutely love this chest rig! It holds 6 mags comfortably, and 2 more could be tucked in the pouches on the side. For the price, it cannot be beat.

I run around without the bungee straps attached. With double stacking, the mags stay in there quite nicely, and have never fell out. The way I play, I have an 18 and a 12 mag in each pouch. I pull the 18 mag out first, because on it's own without any bungee straps, it's possible for it to fall out.
So I opted to go with a budget set-up and I must say, I've been pretty damn happy with it.
I got an Uncle Mike's Tactical Competition belt for $23.55, a Blade-Tech Tek Lok Classic OWB Holster for $57.49 and two 3pk's of mag holders for 23.99 (x's 2)... all from Amazon (links below).
The only thing I have reservations about is the belt, but ONLY because they didn't have any in size M, so I went with a L. It still works fine, there's just a lot of overlap.

Ah, so you would want the Olive Drab - Sage field uniforms or the Olive Drab Garrison Uniforms.
For the field uniforms, those were custom made for the show.
They were Olive Drab WEP G-8 in Ripstop Cotton. The pilot episode had them in surplus Sage WEP G-8s made of shiny nylon. A bit warm for casual wear.
You can buy the Nylon WEP G-8s around the internet but to get cotton ripstop, you're gonna pay a pretty penny for them to be custom made.
Next best, in my opinion is the standard Olive Drab BDU jacket. Looks about the same, except it does not have shoulder pockets or a pre-sewn velcro pad for patches. If you have any sewing skills, you could add those yourself.
The pants are standard BDU Cargo pants in Olive Drab.
https://www.militaryclothing.com/search.aspx?q=Olive+Drab+BDU
The vest was a Blackhawk Omega Utility Vest:
https://www.amazon.com/BLACKHAWK-Omega-Tactical-Medic-Utility/dp/B001NDSZ2S
Any tactical boot in black would work. They Used Magnum Stealths though IIRC.
https://www.amazon.com/Magnum-Mens-Stealth-Force-8-0/dp/B002KQ5WLO
The Narrowbase magazine holders are designed specifically for NERF mags. The AK Chest Rig does fit nerf mags as well. Two 12 dart mags will fit just fine in each pocket with the elastic and will stick up about an inch out of the pocket. 18 dart mags will still fit in the pockets but the included elastic isn't long enough to old them down.
Oh, if you're in Europe some of Blastersmith's stuff might be good for you but I personally don't have any experience with it. And this looks like the exact same AK Chest Rig I linked but in green and more expensive.
vAv YAKEDA Tactical CS Game Chest Vest - KF-099 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077HSWFZY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_QFVyDbEBFEHWA This is the one I use, it’s double the price of that one, but it has great reviews, is well made, and is still relatively cheap. Btw I’m just starting out in airsoft so I’m probably not the best person to answer this but I thought I might as well try.
Is something like a Condor Recon Chest rig for $56.63 out of your budget? (Amazon.ca has more colour options as well!)
Check out other sites as black Friday sales are going on today! Could be some pretty good stuff on cheap elsewhere!
I use this Condor chest rig, it comes with 6 built in mag pouches and a spot on the back for a hydration bladder, you don't need a plate carrier unless you want the extra exercise from carrying them around. The mag's fit great and are easy to take out or put back in if you don't want to use a dump pouch. On top of the vest you may want to purchase a small pouch to throw your allen keys, o-rings, lens cleaner ect in.

Condor recon chest rig 4 total magazines, w/ extra mag holders for 10 rd pods
Random hoodie I found at a local store, when paired with my (not pictured) beanie and random pair of jeans I wear it fits the whole pseudo resistance fighter type deal I like to roll with in scenario play. (also not pictured is my ghillie suit)
Carbon HK KLRs and diamond clear lens
T15 w/ Ergo Grip a random 1/2 inch rail riser and RGB red dot (currently waiting on Rap 4 TCA stock and tan pistol grip)
Cheap, secure, adjustable.
Holds 12x18rd clips at max capacity.
Edit: The Urban/Snow Camo version is probably your best price/performance ratio.
Condor Recon Rig. It just fits me at ~32" and the mag pouches are sewn in, but it's great for the price.

I've gone to my Army Navy Surplus store nearby, and the closest thing I could find is similar to this.
I was considering something like this or this, but if I can find something more accurate it would be better.
Sure - but just a warning - the Offworld jacket is the most expensive part of the outfit. It's a USMC WEP style jacket, which is typically a Nylon shell and goes for $200+. On the show, however, they used a RipStop material, which isn't as shiny. If you don't care about that, you can save yourself about $100.
I followed this Costume Guide
Things left for me to add: (I haven't bought them yet since I spent enough on the costume already and feel good where it is)
Thanks, great!

Glad to help, if you feel like picking up a cheap bit of apparell to go I'd recomend one of these or [these] (https://www.amazon.ca/Tactical-Equipment-tactical-jungleadventure-mountaineering/dp/B01LLEVBEW/ref=pd_sbs_200_7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=G0RBG2YENY90TR6KPWSZ) of course for apparell always first check for used or surplus stores in your local area seeing as plate carriers don't usually have technical problems besides maybe size
It doesn't really take extra time, tons of vests are made to hold 2-3 mags in the same pouch, which at least for the quad stack mags means no reload pentalty at all, for he 60rnd pmag for me personally, my 60 round pmags fit just fine in this vest since the mag pouchs are designed to hold 2 mags at a time, same for quad stack mags fitting in there. For the rigs in game, the blackrock clearly has a dump pouch on it, and regardless of that it is one large pouch for 4 mags instead of 4 one mag pouches, so a drum or quad stack could easily fit. Scout sniper is a little iffy for the drum, but the quad stack can clearly fit, AVS has a dump pouch, but no way it can fit the quad, let alone the drum mag, and finally the wartech does not have the space for a quad or drum, and does not have the dump pouch, but it is same modular ability of the AVS so it can have either a bigger mag pouch added, or the dump pouch added.
I love this chest rig...

Here’s one with good reviews for 40. Just remember that you want to wear it a little higher than I see most people wear it. Watch a few YouTube videos on reload techniques from Garandthumb or Haley or WarriorPoet and see how they wear their armour or rigs. It’s for efficiency in reloads, but if you’re just after the look, it’s still worth getting right.

Oregon Areo is good but the pads freeze in winter... which I found out the hard way.

Heard good things about Skydex and am looking to replace the pads I have for next winter.
https://store.skydex.com/helmet-pads
I had the issued one clip rust shut on me and had to cut it off, I am a sweaty bastard... A few MCPL's and above have seen my helmet and were more interested in what I thought of it and getting there own then giving me shit for modifying my issued gear.
Yeah, I've thought of doing that. Oregon Aero also makes a drop-in suspension for them. I have to agree with you there, my M35 is somehow very very comfy.

The vest is just a regular one, I couldn't get the pigskin one he actually has and the suit is like a janitor's outfit.
What about this one? I’ve seen a lot of good reviews about it, but I think I’ll look a little ridiculous in it lol
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N8TOG4X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_kRTZDb9ZX86X9
Check out Condor Outdoor's stuff. They have a ton of different vests, you're bound to find one that works for you. You can find a bunch of their stuff on Amazon pretty cheap. If you're looking for something light to only carry about 6 mags, then something like their Rapid Assault Chest Rig might work well. However, it has no webbing on the back to mount a tank. I'm also not sure how it fits, since I have no experience with it.
If you want a vest that gives you the ability to mount a tank on your back, then their Modular Chest Set would work a bit better at the cost of being a bit heavier. I actually own this particular vest and I used it for quite a while, but eventually decided it was too big for my current loadout. If you're on the thinner side, this vest will be loose, even when fully tightened.
I'm suggesting these vests because they'll get you going the quickest, as they already have enough pouches for 6 mags built in. There are plenty of makes and models to choose from, I just recommend Condor because, in my opinion, they're a good bang for your buck. I've been using Condor gear since I got into magfed and can't say I've ever had a bad experience with them.
Works with AS VAL Mags So I think that means it should work for AK mags as well? Condor Chest Rig $34 bucks baby.
here is a link to it it is very light and well made https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0085Y4JF0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Another user on here recommended these - $25 for 3 pouches. He said they were a knockoff of more expensive gear, but I have zero experience with them. You might want to give them a shot!

A UTG Crossdraw will last you forever, and have enough pouches to hold everything while still looking pretty decent. I usually swap the holster with the second pouch they include for more mag space, then attach a thigh holster.
Here you go. This is the black one but they have other colors too. Mine's in MARPAT.
