I have twins. Daycare wouldn't be pragmatic for us. It would cost more than I was bringing in.
Because I'm not only staying at home but also nursing them I'm 100% responsible for nights. But my husband takes the mornings to let me sleep in. It works well for us.
When they were really little I would put them in bouncy seats on the bathroom floor while I showered. Now I shower during naps or after bedtime.
Unfortunately, we get a lot of take out for dinner. I plan on cooking and then time gets away from me. Other moms in my twin group do a big cook day every couple of weeks and then freeze meals. I wish I was that organized.
Getting out the door is an ordeal. I have to plan huge time buffers if I need to be at a particular place at a particular time.
Having two babies however is completely delightful. I love it when they make each other laugh. I got this walker because it's one of the few that allow for the babies to climb in and ride it as well a push/walk with it. They are always giving each other rides. It's the cutest thing ever. One of my daughter's first words was brother (bra-er) and they miss each other when they're apart. It's nice when planning activities, I don't have to worry about entertaining different age groups. They'll generally like the same things at the same times. They also have to learn to share from the get go. They're only 18 months but they are already awesome at taking turns and they understand "Please wait" and "You must be patient". It's hard as hell but I love having two babies at once.
Thank you for the contest!
Pandora's Myster Summer Box of Goodies
Some really helpful, but frequently unmentioned items:
A pull up bar & mirror (Okay, that one is super expensive, but you can DIY pretty inexpensively)
Walker wagon for around 10-12 months
Wooden Drum - literally a hit in our house. :) Other musical instruments are great, too.
If I think of any more, I'll definitely post them here later.
My husband and I are really big on education, especially geography and science, and we would LOVE to have this Radio Flyer wagon for our daughter. Now that the weather here in Oregon has warmed up (and finally somewhat DRIED up) enough for us to go outside, she really enjoys staring at the trees and playing in the grass in the back yard. We would love to be able to take her out to experience the flora and fauna in the rest of her little world!
And then there's a water bowl for my dog Tucker who has a liver disease that causes him to drink a LOT of water every day. The current water bowl we have now feeds both of our pups and we just can't seem to fill it often enough for him, especially now that the weather is much warmer!
Also, you two magnanimous folk look indubitably pulchritudinous on this magnificent day! Now, C'mon...gimme. (But I honestly thank you tremendously for the contest!)
Back in the day my daughter got this wagon for her first birthday. It was her favorite present and we got a lot of use out of it! If you want it to look more thoughtful, you can get a big stuffed animal and have it sitting in the wagon.
She also loved the play shopping carts at that age....awww I miss having a baby!!!
We've got a wagon, and it was good from like 8 months to maybe 15 months, but now they're just too big to sit in it without freaking kicking each other. It was loads easier to use than their double stroller then. I have heard good things of the more structured ones with seats and we might get one of those next.
It's normal!
If you want to encourage her, a push toy helps some kids get more practice. But really, she sounds like she's doing just fine.
This is what I found, I hope it answers your question!

1 cat power is approximately 0.343 hp and a 189 hp car would be about 551.13 in cat power.
EDIT: To clarify, 1 hp is not the power output of 1 horse. The average horse can output about 14.9 hp.
Now the fun begins.
THE SETUP
This video depicts a man standing in a wagon pulled by 5 cats on a local street. The average weight of a man is 70 kg according to this. The wagon's wheels appear to be rubber and the rolling coefficient of friction between rubber and concrete is between 0.35 to 0.45 and so I used the value of 0.4. The wagon looked similar to this one, which has a weight of 2.47 lbs = 1.12 kg. The weight of the whole cart system and the normal force is thus, 71.12 kg which equals 697.69 N on Earth. I'm going to assume that the system is moving at constant velocity and so the force of the 5 cats pulling is equal to the force of the friction. A dash on a highway is 10 ft = 3.048 m and slowing the video down and timing the dude, I got his speed to be about 4.58 m/s.
THE MATH
Force of friction = coefficient of friction x normal force = 279.07 N
Force of friction = pull force of all 5 cats = 297.07 N
Power exerted by all cats = force x velocity = 297.07 x 4.58 = 1279.13 W
Power of 1 cat = power of all cats / 5 = 255.83 W
1 hp = 746 W & 1 cat power = 255.83 W -> cat power/hp = 0.343
189 hp = 140994 W -> 140994 W = 551.13 cat power
I use a push/pull wagon! This one:

Its easy to maneuver, fits in the tiny trunk of my clown car Prius, has a neat canopy, cup holders, storage space, comes with a cooler. My kids can nap in it if needed. Right now the baby hangs out in his car seat carrier in the wagon and there’s still plenty of room for my 2yo to sit. She loves it— and this is a kid that hates strollers, usually
We were going to get our daughter a radio flyer wagon (until the in laws showed up with the refurbished wagon from my wife's childhood, which was an incredible surprise). After plopping her into it and carting her around the house a bit, we could tell by the smile on her face that we had picked the right kind of present for that age.
We were looking at this model in particular of the Radio Flyer because of the wooden extensions.. The one from the in-laws is basically the same, but it has a wood basin instead of the traditional metal basin.
Edit: you can get that wagon "chassis" with off-road inflatable tires here or with the wood basin here, so it'd work better at your cottage.
wagon?
We have this: [Radio Flyer 3-in-1] (https://smile.amazon.com/Radio-Flyer-Fold-Wagon-Ride/dp/B01CTUGCOQ/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_21_bs_lp_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZA4FZ12WGRB8FRBE7GY4) and love it. Makes walking any distance wtih the SmallChild so much easier.
Can you confirm that this is the wagon you have? I think it's name is different here for some reason.
Radio Flyer Grandstand Deluxe 3-in-1 Wagon by Radio Flyer https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00OD27JHI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_r-AbAbF0SC31X
If that is the one, I really like it and the price is right where I need it! Do you find it's really stable as you pull it around? My biggest fear with wagons is that some will tip over if you look at it funny 😒
I also like that umbrella as the arm bends, but it looks a lot smaller then mine. Does it cover both kids? Or would I need 1 umbrella per kid?
These are the types of images I used as a reference: 1980s TMNT cartoon van
This is a frame that sits over top of a wagon.
The frame is pvc with cardboard affixed by self tapping screws, masking tape, a couple coats of primer, paint, and weatherproof led strips.
It's powered by 8 AA batteries and has a remote to turn it on/off (also dimming and a few flash settings).
Can't wait to take it out tonight! =)
Best keep hold of it. The new ones have cup holders and seat belts.
The power is one thing. The drive train, brakes, etc, are another. You’d need to be able to weld a mount solidly to the frame, and your frame would also need to be able to handle it.
Is it worth it? I mean, this is about the kind of trailer you’d be looking at being able to tow comfortably.
Surprisingly yes:

An alternative that comes in all different sizes, and can easily be attached to most bikes. Link
I have this one, there is a slightly nicer one with built in seatbelts that came out after I got mine. I use some of my husbands old canvas belts through the bottom, there are small holes in the corners. folding wagon
There are also wayyyyy fancier ones with a push handle bar, canopy, etc. but run a few hundred dollars.
We have this folding wagon that is a freakin' godsend:https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CTUGCOQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It folds down small enough for a trolley and is going on the plane with us this winter :)

I’ve been obsessively researching toys for our first birthday/Christmas. I’m all about toys that serve multiple purposes and can be used for a couple years and through multiple children. Here are some ideas I have came up with...
activity cube - there are all sorts of different models and brands depending on budget.
Radio Flyer Walker Wagon
Hape Scooter
Pikler triangles look awesome, but they are a little out of our budget. I might see if my husband can build one though.
. pikler triangle
We are also looking at getting some high quality wood blocks - but they might be a little old for right now. Maybe for second birthday.
Pfft, 75,000$ !?
All we need is a Radio Flyer and Duct tape.
http://amzn.com/B00000IS6G
We got this wagon: https://www.amazon.com/Radio-Flyer-Classic-Walker-Wagon/dp/B00KN0LSUI/ which both the twins have really liked. When they were first pulling up, it needed some weight in it so that it wouldn't tip, but now they can get up no problem. I like a case of canned pears from a Costco.
I have a double stroller that will not fit, but I would imagine a medium sized single will fit just fine. I have this folding wagon and it's no problem to get in there.
As far as groceries go, I've never had a problem with that and part of that is because the Model X Frunk is actually really big. I can have a full cart at the grocery store (not like packed to the brim, but moderately well loaded) and get it all in the frunk no problem. I pull straight in the garage, so it's easier to unload from there anyways which is why I'll use the frunk for groceries even if the back is completely empty.
I don't see many pictures of groceries in a frunk on the X, but this guy put his kid in there to give you an idea of how big it actually is.
heh,
