I bought this headlight on Amazon for $70.

Here’s a before pic.

Bonus GoPro shot.

I’m happy to answer any questions. The light was just plug-and-play, but I’ll answer any questions about the bike itself. It’s pretty awesome.

The fender is the next to go. Then maybe the handle bars/grips.

^(To future readers, since posts can stay on the front page of this sub for weeks, please feel free to ask questions, even when this post is old.)

Is the frame steel? I use a breaker bar to put about 100 ft-lbs on the lockring on my aluminum MTB's and they don't come undone.

That looks like it will be an insanely fun bike, please upgrade the brakes as fast as you can. I also recommend bright lights on every e-bike. I've been receiving much more respect since mounting two of these. They work day and night to disrupt some drivers' dangerous maneuvering. And the good drivers seem to appreciate the match of speed with lighting.

It's crazy how stealth the Bafangs are in practice.

Go ahead and slap peter on it if you like, i won't judge. I replaced the broken stock headlight on my cj360 with this:
http://www.amazon.com/Emgo-Lucas-Style-Headlight-Shells/dp/B00M9MXIBA
It has a 35/35 H4 bulb so wattage is the same and won't change your amp draw. The bulbs are from a scooter so ask for one if you need to replace. Its a real project because all the wiring is shoved in the housing but doable. Also halogen is brighter than the original incandescent. Overall happy with the result. Now if I could just get the carbs to run right...

I don't doubt you're going this fast, I just recommend that people who regularly exceed 25 mph (on streets with 2-way traffic or many cross streets) use lights bright enough to grab attention in the daytime. Here are very easy ones to install.

As far as brightness, they're wayyy better than stock. Even with the tint over them, you can literally light up the entire road and then some. I had to aim them completely to the ground to prevent blinding everyone. So far I've never been bright lighted, so I assume I've fixed the over brightness issues.

Looking at a similar one with more reviews, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MY53YJ3/ref=psdc_8323665011_t1_B0781KY16Y Vendor says no. However, the size should be right, likely just the mounting holes between bracket and grill are just off. I'd bet with a little modification it could work. Order one, line it up and see whats off, and if it's not going to work, just send it back.

Just make sure to report back, because I need these as well. One of my brackets is JB welded "good enough", would like to replace.

Headlight modulator.

Skene conspicuity lights.

An Australian study found that the most effective lighting for conspicuity is two bright yellow DRLs.

It is definitely bright enough for around town at night. I'll have to see how the high beam does on a dark back road some other time. From what I can tell though I think it will do the job.

These:

They are OK. They have no cutoff. I may see if i can find better ones next time. I needed an anti-flicker harness as well.

u/phohenadel · 1 pointr/Jeep

I bought and installed theses, they are way better than stock.

Nothing wrong with them, just didn’t like the look. Make an offer.

Twelve bucks. Pick up a switch and fuseholder for another ~5 each. Just wire it in where the battery meets your controller. The voltage stepdown is built in so you don't have to think about it, and it's... really goddamned bright. I fashioned a different mount for mine because the included one is flimsy. There are two threaded holes in the body so you can get creative.

I've used Flash 2 Pass headlight switch garage openers for about 15 years on all my bikes. I'd never go back to the old fashioned way.

also use motion sensor light switch in the garage, one of my favorite house upgrades

I use this cheap $12 headlight and I really like it.

New reflector for my headlight. Felt like going faster then 40mph I was over driving my light. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GZXB6O/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_wgittb05E5VK6

I just cut, soldered, and used good glue filled shrink wraps. Im sure if you are not comfortable with that type of installation you could find connectors to plug it right in.

That is a 7" sealed beam(bulb/element & reflector are one). Choices

  • replace with another sealed beam
  • replace with a 7" H4 reflector housing & H4/9003 bulb. Like so
  • replace with a 7" LED Daymaker or Daymaker clone.

I literally just installed this one today. I'm tickled pink.

You can just find an LED rig on amazon that has wire leads on it already. I have two of these on my bike. They accept 12 - 80VDC. I don't recomend them because the boards on them need to be modified to make them not stupid.

I know there are bulbs that have the standard bayonet that you could swap into your exsisting housing too. like these but idk how shitty they are or if that is the right bayonet

I don't really know how shipping to you works, but you could have a seat that doesn't cook your balls, and has padding, a headlight, and controls for under a Benjamin.

Oh, and hook up your damn front brake.

If you post tire size, I could probably send you links to something that could deal with sand Too.

You could have the poor backwoods version of the Marines KLR.
