I gotta say, this is some pretty fun shit.

I have this one. It's very pretty, but the lining doesn't go all the way to the edge. The outer lace part still lets some sun through.

I'm planning to replace it with something like this, which has better coverage. There are several other lace style ones available. I started with the cheapest because I wasn't sure if I'd actually use it. Turns out I adore it.

If you don't care for lace, there are lots of other styles out there. Pagoda, rainbow, or you could use a regular umbrella.

For a rain jacket, I strongly recommend something that has "goretex" for breathability.

Keep in mind, goretex does not keep you warm. It only keeps you dry. You want to layer up in the winter.

If you walk or take the bus... I love my goretex hiking boots. Waterproof and breathable.

It is a slightly broken collapsible sheath for an umbrella. ^1

Edit: I used to have one of these and while it was cheaply made the idea is a good one. If higher quality ones were made I would purchase it. Ideally it would utilize some kind of twist rinse function like this mop. After coming in to the office you could pull down the sheath and twist it to get all the water off your umbrella. Somebody smart please design this and let me know. Thanks

Okami is my most favorite game of all time. And it draws inspiration from a very worthy place! I should get a switch just for LoZ:BotW (not the first time I bought a console primarily for a single game) but I should replace my car that recently died instead. And build a nice PC as well after that.

I came here to say this too! Advantages of parking farther:

1. You don't have to fight for a space.
   
2. Save on gas if you're self-interested and emissions if you're not.
   
3. Burn maybe 5 extra calories.
   
4. Your car is less likely to get scratched.
   
5. You can pull out faster and easier.
   
6. You gain 3 arbitrary cardio points.
   
7. You're less likely to hit pedestrians.
   
8. You can see if anyone is hiding under your car at night. (for the vulnerable)
   
   I'm sure there's more reasons...

    Honestly, I can't think of ANY other reasons. If it's raining, bring an umbrella. Seriously, they're no big deal now with those nifty backwards-folding ones.

It’s not clothing, but I highly recommend a UV umbrella while you’re walking around. They also make a huge difference in the temperature!

I've got this one. You'd save two ounces for $9 which isn't too bad. At 5.45 oz on my scale it's the lightest one I could find without paying Montbell prices. They do have free shipping for the holidays if that makes a difference.

Does it have to pack or can you get a new one in each country? I'll pick up an cheap umbrella in a country and use it as a cane/walking stick of sorts while I have a couple cheap ponchos in my bag for emergencies. I like umbrellas for sun protection and light rain and use poncho for the heavier stuff since it covers my pack and everything. I've found the telescoping umbrellas are flimsy and bend easily, but are more compact. If you can spare the space, I'd recommend either something small with a solid post and UV reflective material on top like this, or this, or this, or a full-ish size umbrella that you walk with like this, or this

I like my Lilac UV umbrella. It's UPF 50+ and can supposedly withstand up to 60mph!~

It also has auto-open and the case is also very nice, which makes it super convenient to carry if you use it a lot.

I'm very happy with the Samsonite flat umbrella. Packs super light and small enough to comfortably fit in your back pocket. Obviously in harsh rain and wind it's not gonna be great, and I'll still get a wet arm in light rain, but I have this and a collapsible rain jacket and I find myself reaching for the umbrella more often than the jacket when it looks like it might rain.

My favorite part about spring is that the weather starts to warm up, it's not freezing cold anymore! This umbrella would make the spring showers more enjoyable, and it reminds me of the Walking Dead :)
