I'm also wondering this.

  • It's a bit suspicious given that this model can't be bought anywhere other than amazon.

  • This model only has 10 reviews. It's almost like it was just added to amazon for this sale. The 650 has over 2000 reviews.

  • The thetracktor page for the 614 has very little fluctuation in price, which is a bit suspicious imo. The thetracktor page for the 650 has a lot more regular price movment.

I'd say that although it's a reasonable deal for a Roomba, I don't think it's as good a deal as they'd like us to believe.

edit: According to the the Amazon page, the only difference between the 614 and 650 is the scheduling feature. I'd say it's a pretty decent deal. I may end up going for it.

The wife and I recently picked up this Eufy on sale for $170 and it does a pretty good job. However, we have mostly luxury vinyl plank with a couple rooms in carpet. I would recommend checking the reviews for fully carpeted houses.

On a side note for manual vacuums, have you tried Shark? We have a Shark and the suction is second to none.

Personally, I ordered a RoboRock S4 for $300 from Amazon yesterday (coupon on the page for $100). I plan to also order an i7+ (because of the sefl-emptying feature) on BF if prices are what I anticipate ($699). There are lots of good options, but from my study of YouTube robovac videos, it seems to me the LIDAR robots are significantly better at navigating than the ones that use a contrast style camera (Roomba).

If all goes as planned, I'll find out sooner rather than later when I compare the S4 to the i7. I just wish RoboRock had a self-emptying option. There is a Shark IQ model that self-empties, but it is bagless (which I don't care for) and had some initial teething problems. Those issues may have been resolved with later firmware upgrades. But it's a bargain for under $400 for the self-emptying version, at least in comparison to the Roomba versions.

I've been interested in a robotic vacuum for a while now because my wife and I are very lazy and can hardly be bothered to vacuum more than once a month. Neato and Roomba were the big names I was looking at, but I also saw a Samsung Powerbot which looked pretty cool:

Have you heard anything about them?

u/performancereviews · 0 pointsr/VacuumCleaners

If you get a robot with smart navigation I don't see that as a problem. Even my Miele Rx1 which starts up in the middle of the house will go through every doorway down The Long haul into the bedroom run out of battery return to the base station and then continue. That's from a 6 year old robotic vacuum. I would make sure you get one rated for the proper square footage of your house. Here's a link to the robotic vacuum I'm talking about there are definitely better ones out there now. Understand that's affiliate link.

I have an ILIFE V5s pro that I love. Gets the hair and is able to go between our rooms from carpet to wood floors. As an FYI pick up any cords as this vacuum loves finding them.

We got the Roomba 890 model - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XS31V18/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It does a great job at picking up hair/dust bunnies and all the pine needles that we track in from outside. We run it 2-3 times a week and usually twice before we have company over.

u/KOloverr · -2 pointsr/personalfinance

Not sure why I thought there was an I in front. Coredy on Amazon.

u/ScottRiqui · 2 pointsr/roomba

I think it's a new Roomba, the S9 (AKA 9150). Before it was taken down, there was a video online that showed a new feature - "Imprint Link". It showed the Roomba S9 "talking to" a Braava Jet M6; the Roomba finished vacuuming a room, told the Braava it was done, and then the Braava started mopping the room.

As for the Roomba S9 itself, I don't know what's different, except that it's no longer round; it's shaped like a capital "D" with the flat surface at the front. Combined with a new spinning edge brush, it's supposed to do a better job of getting into corners.

Edit - I forgot that the video also showed the Roomba S9 docking with a clean base, similar (or identical?) to what the i7+ uses.

Edit again - I searched for "Roomba S9" and found an Amazon link to it. The link is broken now, but I could pull up a copy of the Amazon listing that Google had cached.

u/blorpblorpbloop · 17 pointsr/news

Depends on the model.

This one, likely identified as reaching for something and subsequently shot.

This one, likely helped out of the room, carried to charging station, offered whatever comfort food a roomba eats.

u/Sqeaky · 4 pointsr/Showerthoughts

Yeah we do: https://www.amazon.com/Neato-Botvac-Connected-Smartphones-Smartwatches/dp/B01KV1C1C2

I can also do it all from the couch it doesn't need emptying.

u/AstarteHilzarie · 4 pointsr/BroMoHousekeeping

I got this one on sale so it was about the price of buying a nornal vacuum and I didn't feel extravagant for it. Lools like it's on sale again. It works well, but I've only had it sonce December so I can't speak to long term use

u/zonq · 1 pointr/roomba

I just checked the 620 one and in the Amazon description says "new Cleaning system" and has a thumb of the blue cleaning system, so it should have the new one. I'd make sure though if I get it that that's also the case.

u/IronGut73 · 0 pointsr/homeautomation

I have two of the Eufy RoboVacs and absolutely love them. I've also bought two more for my mom & sister and they love them too. We all three have a mix of dogs & cats and they are great with animal hair too. I have all hardwoods but my mom & sister have a mix of wood & carpet/rugs and none of the four units ever trip up. I have mine set to start cleaning at 11am (while I'm @ work) daily and when they're finished, they return to the base unit to recharge. The only issue I have with any of them is that the one in my master bedroom sometimes gets stuck under a low point in the bathroom vanity. Not the vac's fault, it's the crappy vanity that needs to go.

Prepare yourself for how full the trash bin will be after you run it. You just thought your floors were clean. lol

u/SmileyLebowski · 2 pointsr/Flipping

Your first listing has refurbished in the title. If yours are not refurbished, I wouldn't use that listing.

Have you checked this listing?

We got it as a gift, but seriously - robot vacuum: Eufy RoboVac 11, High Suction, Self-Charging Robotic Vacuum Cleaner with Drop-Sensing Technology and HEPA Style Filter for Pet Fur and Allergens, Designed for Hard Floor and Thin Carpet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LYCLS24/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_YuVwzbCWZHH2W

$200ish, run it twice a day, and have storage for their toys. Ours recently broke after too many toddler rides (we were dumb) and the difference it made the past year is immediately (next day) noticeable. DO IT.
