I'm also a lunch salad lover. I've been really into soy sesame ginger dressings-like this one from Trader Joes http://www.amazon.com/Trader-Joes-Sesame-Ginger-Vinaigrette/dp/B0071QTGDI
They are usually way lower in calories and a little bit goes a long way. I buy a bag of coleslaw mix and add diced chicken, cilantro and green onions and almonds and its awesome. The cabbage stays nice and crunchy

This is the best approximation I've found that is available in most grocery stores. It's pretty damn good.

I'm sorry, can you recommend something better maybe? I need it to pair well with this (I've been giving it to him in his bottle)

u/wolfpack86 · 1 pointr/food

get some of this stuff it's available at Whole Foods, Kroger, Walmart, and a bunch of other places.

it is PHENOMENAL. seriously the best salad dressing I've ever had (on field greens) and a great marinade for chicken or whatever else.

Walden Farms makes 0 calorie dressings. They taste fine (not fabulous) but for zero calories, I'm ok with that :)

here's the creamy bacon:

I like to do a variation on this model that's served cold.

Pre-cook some chicken. Maybe do some extra while yer wok-ing and save it.

Blanch the vegetables enough to soften them, but leave some firmness. Then dump them into a collander and run cool water over them to chill them. (or you could wok it and then rinse to cool, but that would knock lots of flavor off)

Throw the chicken and veggies in a bowl and toss in [greek dressing.](http://www.amazon.com/Kraft-Vinaigrette-Dressing-Marinade-16- Ounce/dp/B000E1BKY0) (sparingly and with some extra spices thrown in to reduce calorie addition)

My version has angel hair pasta thrown in as well, but that'll run the calories up a bit.

The best part of this is that it’s not at all far from the truth. Wishbone came out with dressings that you could spritz on your salads quite a while ago.

My son love Cheese Fantastico salad dressing This
He will pour some on a plate and dip his fingers in it.
He also eats salt straight from the shaker.

Walden Farms makes a zero everything ranch dressing, but, like all of their other products, it tastes like absolute dogshit.

Red Shell Miso dressing is awesome for this. It's available at some Costco's, chain supers, asian markets and also on amazon for a little more $

I love that it comes in 64 oz jugs on Amazon.

Problem Solved This stuff is wonderful. Mix with mayo and buttermilk to make salad dressing or mix with sour cream to make a veggie/chip dip.

Looks like he's vegan, he has [Silk Chocolate Protein Nutmilk] (https://silk.com/products/chocolate-protein-nutmilk) in his hand and J U S T Chipotle Ranch dressing in his refrigerator.

Like the packets of dry seasoning that you can buy. Not the bottles already made kind.

Subway has deals where you load up a gift card and they give you a bonus on it. You can use it at any location.

Subway: Oven roasted chicken + bacon add on can also be less than the chicken/bacon ranch, depending on the exact pricing. Spicy italian + add 6inch portion of ham is more meat than a BMT and usually less. Load up on veggies but for the love of god don't be the guy that asks for every sauce on their sub.

Getting an arizona tea from CVS is cheaper than pretty much every soft drink on campus.

You can get queso on the side at Moe's when you order nachos and use that with your own tortilla chips (Moe's get gross after a few hours) as a snack or meal. But you have to eat nachos without queso.

If that salad place in Ellicott still sells make your own salads by the pound, use your own dressing. Dressing weighs a lot. You can get a bottle from wegmans for $2. If you don't want to be known as the weirdo with the salad dressing bottle in their backpack, you can be known as the weirdo that brings salad dressing packets with them.

You can buy bulk bagels at Tim Hortons with your meal plan and use them as breakfasts/snacks.

It's expensive, but ever marinated in this? omfg sooooo good

u/Rabmonk006 · 4 pointsr/Vegan_Food

I love 'Just Caesar' and the oil-free one they sell at whole foods.

skinny girl dressings are AMAZING!! 5-15 cals per 2 table spoons! you can get them on amazon but they are much cheaper at walmart

I always eat it with Red Shell miso dressing. It's delicious!

Asian salad? Idk. Grilled chicken marinated in garlic and soy sauce, on salad w/ lettuce, red onion, clementines/oranges, slivered almonds and Trader Ming's Sesame Soy Ginger Dressing ($1.50 at Trader Joe's but this was the only link I could find!)
