My favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast. I identify with Belle, I love the story, and the scenery is beautiful! Oh and not to mention the awesome freaking sound track. I love it. Second place is tied between Mulan and Aladdin. Third place Lion King because I watched it hundreds of times as a kid.

Edit: I changed them, I hope these are better. The top one says free shipping and the second should be below 5 with shipping. Again I'm so sorry :(

u/BrainKatana · 4 pointsr/ramen

Best instant ramen I've ever had is Nissin Raoh Tonkotsu ramen. You can get it from Amazon here.

Then get this pair of bowls.

Then, go to the store and get some eggs, green onion, a few thick cuts of pancetta (like 1/4 inch), wood ear mushrooms, nori, soy sauce, and mirin. If you can't find mirin at the store, you can also order it from Amazon!

Do up the eggs like this.

Slice the green onion really fine, like 2mm slices. Slice at a 45 degree angle.

Throw the pancetta in a skillet with a bit of vegetable oil. After it starts to sizzle, drop 2 tbsp of soy sauce and mirin (each) into the pan. Once the pancetta is carmelized (you still want it to be a little floppy), remove from heat/set aside.

Get some water to a boil and then add the wood ear mushrooms. Cook for about 3 minutes (they cook fast). Drain/rinse the mushrooms in cold water, then slice them thin, about 1/4 inch. Set aside.

Cook ramen according to package instructions. Immediately after plating (while it's still too hot to eat), add your toppings: 1 egg (sliced in half), 2-3 pieces of pancetta, nori, green onion, and mushrooms to taste. Let the bowl cool with the toppings in it for a minute or so, then dig in.

That's how I do my "too lazy to get to a ramen shop" ramen. Total prep/cook time is less than 20 minutes.

Also, remember that the best bowls of ramen are the ones you eat next to each other. Happy noodling!

I would want something with equivalent dimensions to this except I'd want it to be ribbed so that the "spines" go from the bottom to the top, not around the bowl. Ideally, the ribbing would be such that it's ribbed on the inside and out (should make it easier right?) for additional grip as well as a handle. if you could choose a glaze for the outside that was slightly gritty so that it'd grip better, that'd be awesome.

u/Hayasaka-chan · 3 pointsr/cookingforbeginners

I am seconding the ceramic bowls for ramen. I also recommend trying to find bowls with spoon or chopstick rests like this. I do not have the exact same style but I do like having the chopstick rest in my own bowls.

And I would definitely pass on the steel chopsticks, you'll have noodles slipping all over the place.

If you are looking to get a full set you can find spoons like these to eat the broth with if you are not fans of sipping the broth right out of the bowl.

ETA: This is my personal set. and it has worked well for my husband and I for years.

Did a quick search on the web and found this on Amazon for only $6: http://www.amazon.com/French-Single-Serving-Ceramic-Two-Tone-Two-eared/dp/B000I4MGI2/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt

The reviews say it's too small but it does look good and should work well for those who want to bowl lather.

You can pretty much lather with anything from an onion soup bowl to even a coffee mug. It's all about what works well for you.

u/sonsue · 1 pointr/cookingcollaboration

Wife got me the Le Crueset French Onion Soup bowls and I bought myself a used copy of How to Cook Everything. So pretty good scores.

Read every top-lever comment so far:

  1. not French onion soup - ironically not a single person mention that the ONIONS ARE NOT FRENCH CUT!
  2. not a single comment, that is not OP, that thinks this recipe looks good... with 2.5k positive vote score, this is crazy.
  3. Yes, OP subbed in alcohol when making this... we still think they are drunk, we know they were starving when they made this.
  4. The best comments offered links for real recipes & https://gfycat.com/CommonHighArrowana, complimented OP on the video editing, or helped identify the bows that are crocks - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PXGZXN7

I bought this little bowl, it seems like just the perfect size for bowl lathering. Also it is pretty cheap!

These owl salt and pepper shakers look really sweet and fit the HP theme. I also really like this soup cauldron.

As far as essential cookware, I regularly use this silicone cookware in the oven or microwave:

u/hoetheory · 3 pointsr/OrganizationPorn

Nice! Another option is inexpensive Tupperware. It’s just a little sturdier and will last longer, plus they’re easier to clean

When we eat rice with chopsticks, the rice is placed into a small bowl where we can scoop it up.

Something like this

And in bowls like this or this or this or even this

u/almightywhacko · 2 pointsr/wicked_edge

The walls of the mug are important, they are what keep the lather from falling out of the mug when you are whipping your brush back and forth. In general a good mug needs two things, it needs to be wide enough that you can work your brush back and forth and it needs to be deep enough that you aren't flinging lather everywhere.

If you are looking for something cheap to pour your soap into, small japanese rice/soup bowls are a pretty decent choice.

u/ketokate-o · 2 pointsr/ketorecipes

I use a ceramic soup mug like this one for my microwave muffins and cakes. It's a little wider than a coffee mug and makes the perfect size bread for sandwiches.

u/arasay · 1 pointr/IndoorGarden

I use pressed glass plates as saucers. They look nicer than plastic, have a nice high lip to hold the water and come in different sizes. I find them in thrift shops for about $1.

u/Zefirus · 1 pointr/AskCulinary

Actually it's the other way around. Stone/earthenware is an excellent tool for dispersing heat evenly. It's why people cook pizzas in brick ovens and on pizza stones. It's the same as a ceramic baking dish (or say, French onion soup crocks), which are quite common.

u/atavax311 · 2 pointsr/Showerthoughts

nothing i saw on ikea looked that big, but looking on amazon, i found a cheap japanese noodle bowl thats 38oz, compared to the bowls that looked the same dimension as the ones in IKEA were advertised as 28oz. https://www.amazon.com/JapanBargain-Japanese-Plastic-Noodle-Soup/dp/B0042ITNBI/ref=sr_1_110?ie=UTF8&qid=1486223504&sr=8-110&keywords=cereal+bowl edit: found seemingly same size 3 pack with amazon prime shipping https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N1G9H3U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/juvenescence · 1 pointr/ViteRamen

So you're saying that it should fit in one of these bowls for microwaving then, right?

u/blahblahsdfsdfsdfsdf · 3 pointsr/TooAfraidToAsk

If you go to a restaurant in Italy and order pasta, you'll actually usually get it in a wide bowl like this: https://www.amazon.com/Quality-Melamine-Serving-Vegetable-Spaghetti/dp/B07HQHPHF5

I use a microwave soup bowl I bought off Amazon. The price has doubled since I originally bought it though.

This amazon listing has a few different styles/sizes available, although the pricing seems a little high:
