I recommend using the size calculator linked in the beginning guide when you get a chance to double check your size: http://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/wiki/beginners_guide.

I am about 110 lbs and 5'2 and I was measured by places like VS as 32DDD. I would constantly have problems with bras not giving me enough support and the only way I could exercise was to wear two bras on top of one another. I also used to be super self conscious of my boobs not looking super perky like everyone elses.

Learning about bra fitting has seriously changed my life. It helped me learn that sizes exist beyond the 32DDD that American brands stop at and that the only reason I was measured as that is because it's their lowest band size, highest cup size that is offered in these stores. Their fitting methods are designed to put women into bands too large and cup sizes too small just so they can continue to sell the sizes they offer. My underbust is 27 inches and I was wearing a band a good 4/5+ inches too loose to provide much if any support.

I now switched to UK 28GG bras and get so much better fit, support, lift and comfort from my new bras. My favorite sports bra is panache wired sports bra. It's an amazing sports bra which comes in bra sizes and has padded wires like a regular bra for max support and separation (so no awful uniboob). It gives me enough support to do high impact sports and is super comfortable. It also gives good lift to my heavy boobs and has a great shape under anything from casual dresses to exercise clothing so I can feel sexy and great while being active. It's completely amazing and I can't imagine ever having to go back to the "sports" bras offered by regular stores which give me no support and make my boobs look horrible.

u/oberstofsunshine · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I am very busty. I wear a 36H in regular bras but can get away with 36G and 38F in sports bras, which is good because those sizes are cheaper and more easily found. I buy my sports bras on Amazon, just finding ones with good reviews in my size. I never spend more than $30. My best support comes from this one. It's frumpy as hell but has amazing support.

I buy my leggings from Old Navy and Target. I love the Champion Freedom line. I wasn't a big fan of Old Navy's highest waisted leggings because I have to roll the waist band.

u/vallary · 3 pointsr/ABraThatFits

It's a bit harder to get diagnose fit and for some people to get the best possible fit in a moulded bra, but if you're not at all open to wearing a non-moulded bra, that's totally your choice. Your measurements put you between band sizes as well as between cup sizes, so you're likely to wear a 32 band in some bras and a 34 in others (in addition to being between cup sizes).

I'm putting only amazon links in here for ease of shipping/returns. Everything I've linked is available on Prime, but it might default to another seller if the size you choose is out of stock or they have a lower price so just pay attention when you're adding stuff to your cart as other sellers will have their own return policies.

For absolute basic, 'everyday' bras, your best choice to start would probably be Freya Deco. This bra runs bigger in the band, so you'll probably do fine in a 32 band here.

Personally I prefer the fit of the Parfait Jeanie to the Deco, I find the cups/straps are a little closer together so it's much more comfortable for me. (Also it's $20 cheaper, though, I'd still pay the extra money for something that fit better).

Strapless bras are fairly difficult to come by in larger sizes, the Deco Strapless is what I would consider the most useful one, it also comes in a longline version which may be more supportive if you don't find this sufficient. It is tighter in the band than the regular Deco, so you may take a 34 in this.

Panache Sport is probably the most consistently recommended bra on this sub, it comes in underwired and non-wired versions. It's not moulded, the cups are seamed and made of flexible foam. The underwires in the wired version are padded, so it's pretty comfy. You'll probably take a larger band in this based on the fact that you're lifting and doing yoga, and not running.

However, since the Panache sport is an encapsulation bra, it's really not my first choice for yoga. I prefer this Shock Absorber which is a strong compression bra, to just flatten my boobs as much as possible to get them as much out of the way as they can get. This runs tight in the band, so I might suggest trying a 36 band. The sizing is kind of weird on this as well, the boob section never gets any wider, it just gets taller (I own this in a FF and H cup in the same band size), so if you try it and think it doesn't provide enough coverage and is showing too much very squished cleavage, just size up even if it's a cup size much larger than you would normally wear.

$250 is a bit of a tight budget for the number of bras you want, but really not impossible once you've narrowed down your size. Even based on Amazon-pricing, if you like the Parfait Jeanie, you can get 3 of those, the Deco Strapless, and a sports bra for $260.....but you can also get 3 Decos, the Deco Strapless, and a Panache Sport from here for £161 which converts to $213USD. You can also often find new with tags bras on ebay from UK sellers that are selling off previous seasons' printed or fashion colour bras.

u/IlludiumQXXXVI · 2 pointsr/fitpregnancy

My opinion is that Gap leggings are the best, but Old Navy are a close runner up and less than 1/2 the price, so I go for those. I wore under bump until about 18 weeks and then switched to full panel, but it's all personal preference.

I went with these sports bras, and am loving them. I started at a 32DDD and am now a 34-36G and they still fit fine. Lots of support and still give some shape.

I love these tanks, which are not technically maternity, but have a great amount of stretch. I wear one as an undershirt every day and then wear it to the gym after work so it minimizes my laundry too, lol! I'm 30 weeks right now and they still fit fine, should last my whole pregnancy.

u/erinunderscore · 2 pointsr/Reduction

I'm two weeks post-op.

People here all have fantastic suggestions so far!
I used:

  1. Fruit of the Loom bras from Wal-Mart, look like this. They were cheaper at the store vs. Amazon. I specifically like this bra because it's shaped like a tank top -- not a racerback, which means I can wear more clothes with it without straps showing.
  2. Curad Non-Stick pads that look like this. That's what my doctor shoved in my post-op bra, so I just got more of them. Now I don't need them anymore. I didn't even finish the one box of 12.
  3. Husband installed this bidet for me. The dignity of cleaning my own butt after such a challenging surgery was nice.
  4. Someone else said heating pad -- yep.
  5. Consider pre-making some food -- something really healthy and easy to eat. I made a diet soup that is meant for a cleanse because it had a ton of fiber (cabbage, lots of other veg) and was easy to heat a little at a time. I can provide the recipe link if you want it. I also took psyllium fiber tablets every day and drank dark coffee each morning, while drinking as much water as I could. And I lost some extra weight with the soup, too. For breakfast, I only ate oatmeal with cinnamon and bananas since that's so easy to digest. I had no problems, uh, getting the job done with all that fiber.
  6. We installed a handheld shower head. I had my husband around to help me bathe, and it made things easier for both of us. I sat in a shallow bath and he helped me clean with the shower head. In the shallow bath, I used some scented epsom salts to help me relax. The first couple of baths were uncomfortable and awkward and it helped.
  7. Tylenol. I weaned myself off the drugs after 3-4 days. In the morning, I took half the dose of Tylenol (which is every 3 hours vs. 6) to see how my pain was, then I'd either take another one on time, wait a while, or take half a pain pill. I did this until I was using only Tylenol and eventually nothing or only one dose a day of it.

Not a lady, but my girlfriend shares your problem. I was looking for running gear for her, and came across this on the sweethome:

Sweethome link

Amazon Link (not an affiliate link dont worry)

> Overall the Pro Rival hits the sweet spot for most runners, but if you have a DD-plus cup size, you might prefer the ultra-supportive Enell High Impact Sports Bra. It’s overkill (and it can feel restrictive) if you’re a C-cup or smaller, but Enell sets the standard for support when it comes to larger cup sizes. Lori Wahl looked to Enell for inspiration while designing bras at Asics and adidas, noting that Enell layers its fabrics to provide great bounce-back and recovery. “Women who buy this bra, you can’t pry it out of their hands,” Wahl said. You can count Sweethome editor Casey Johnston among its fans. “I’ve tried a lot of different sports bras, and there is simply nothing like the Enell,” she told me. “Absolutely nothing moves in there. I’ve had this bra lost or stolen three times, and have gone straight out to buy it again.” Our 42DD tester echoed those sentiments: “There’s no bounce. It’s pretty crazy,” she said after trying it on. “I feel like it’s supporting my back and correcting my posture very gently.” Enell spokesperson Mara Osborne explained to us that the bra’s extra back support comes from its full-coverage design: “It brings a woman’s shoulders up and back to alleviate the weight of heavier breasts.”

I've only had surgery past friday, so my experience is very limited but absolutely DO get something that closes in the front. I've bought a medical compression bra as well, because of sudden changes in my operation date, and it has a way to open up the shoulders so you don't have to do a lot of weird arm work to get them on. The one I have linked is the one I have, and it has hooks first, so you can close those before you zip it up. My nurse in the hospital and my mom both found that VERY handy. Especially if all things are still a bit swollen and such.

Also got these linked from someone on here, and I've ordered similair as those, and they're so nice. Super colorful, and I need to wear one for 6 weeks straight, so the colors really are helpful to keep the cheering up :)

Good luck with your surgery! It may not be as bad as you think.

EDIT: Also get some shirts and hoodies and such that you can close in the front, because you will need it.

u/normal3catsago · 2 pointsr/ABraThatFits

I love the Glamorise Sports Bra.

I have two of them in 38DD and find them true to size despite the reviews. The band is tight for the first couple of wears but gets just perfect after that. There is very, very little give and no bounce.

Since she may lose weight, the adjustable portion of the double layers would be great. I haven't had to use it yet but am hoping I may as well as I've taken up run-walking.

Glamorise has a 40I, though not a J. When I first purchased Glamorise brands, I found that I had to originally try a few different sizes in this style, of which I own multiple (38 F was what the ABTF calculator originally put me at), and the 38DD has been great across Glamorise bras.

u/deng-meowping · 1 pointr/ABraThatFits

I am the same size and struggle from a similar problem. I’d highly suggest trying out some Panache bras. They hold you in like grandma bras but also look super cute at the same time.

My faves right now are the Elan bra and this sports bra. Good luck!

u/true2u4 · 2 pointsr/Reduction

I'm so sorry for the rescheduling problems. The thought of upcoming surgery is emotional enough without them screwing with you that way. I would've been a wreck too if mine had been put off. I'm the kind of person that once I decide to do something, I want it done NOW lol! If the do end up rescheduling again, threaten to go to another surgeon (even if you really won't). My guess is they won't mess with you again though.

Use this extra time to prep yourself. I too had to buy (and bring to surgery) my own post-surgery bra too, it's pretty common. I bought bras a few weeks before my surgery. I didn't have to worry about any return times for mine though. Unless they're telling you that you need a special type of surgical bra, don't spend a ton of money on one. My best ones were just front-close sports bras. They provide plenty of support. I got the cheap Fruit of the Loom ones from Walmart, and ordered some from Amazon. I did also order a couple surgery bras, but like I said, the sports ones were my go-to. This was my fave, and my nurse liked it:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015QQVR0E/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm 10 weeks post surgery and I still wear these. Have several colors.

Hang in there!!

u/BAM225 · 1 pointr/running

Yes, I love these bras! Champion They are comfortable, don't ride up and keep the ladies in their place. Now, my boobs have always been on the smaller size (thanks running) so I found these really were the best. Plus they aren't too tight where I felt like it was restricting milk flow. Since I'm BF I wanted to make sure that my bras weren't too tight.

u/bigchiefhoho · 2 pointsr/Fitness

Over the years I've been a 34DD, 36DDD, and now 32G, so I know what you're going through trying to find a good sports bra... I've always had great luck with Wacoal's sports bra for running: http://www.amazon.com/Wacoal-Womens-Sport-Bra-855170/dp/B001ULCBG4 No bouncing at all, relatively comfortable, gives a nice rounded shape. Downside: looks like body armor.

u/_cool_beans_ · 4 pointsr/xxfitness

I feel you about caring. I sometimes feel a little boyish when I work out (muscles + pixie cut + flat boobs + ruler-ish shape from the front), which is a totally fine thing, I just prefer to look more feminine myself.

Anywho, I have this padded sports bra and it's the best! It's enough support for me to jog, lift, and jump rope. But it doesn't squish my boobs flat, and gives them a nice round shape.

I also have this one. It also has pads and I do like it, but it's slightly less comfortable and makes things a little more compressed.

u/Jiggy90 · 12 pointsr/MtF

I recently purchased these off of Amazon. I got them more as protection, since my nipples really only show right now through very thin shirts, but they were getting sensitive enough that thicker shirts like the ones I wear at work would really zing when the shirt would move around too much.

However, I was recommended these because they're both comfy and hide developing breasts well, so they should be perfect for what you need.

u/forethoughtless · 3 pointsr/ABraThatFits

It's been so long since I bought a sports bra that I'm not sure what to expect from them any more! I am a 32E/F-ish, FOB and projected w/ soft tissue so I have a lot to hold down (at least, a lot relative to what typical sports bras seem to be built for).

Can I expect full immobilization from a high impact sports bra like the Shock Absorber Ultimate Run Bra?

I tried on the Syrokan high impact sports bra in 32E and still had a small amount of up/down movement, although at least this bra actually did an okay job of encapsulating my breasts. Idk if sizing up to 32F would improve things?

Also ordered the Moving Comfort Fiona sports bra in 34DD, haven't tried it on yet.

TL;DR:

Sports bras. If I want more immobilization, does going up a cup size (same band size) help or harm? How much movement reduction can I expect from a high impact sports bra? What features seem to help, in your experience?

u/SharkAttackDat · 1 pointr/ftm

Try buying an underworks binder if you can afford it. G2bc binders aren’t as comfortable as the underworks ones I own. I pretty much exclusively wear underworks now.

This one is very comfortable.

u/kaloryth · 6 pointsr/xxfitness

I do wayyyyy shorter of runs, but I'm personally having success with and heard good things about Panache. Here's the one I use which is designed for us busty ladies. linky

u/WanderlustWanderer · 4 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Champion has a bra called the show off

It's amazing, especially for large chests, and you don't have to worry about removing pads.

u/my-alter-ego-Melody · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

That's the last book I read!! I just posted that in this morning's post :) great book. I use this one but I'm on the small side so I don't need as much support.

u/manowar88 · 3 pointsr/ftm

The Underworks binding bra is probably your best bet, though it likely won't be quite as effective as a normal Underworks binder.

u/idunnoshutup · 2 pointsr/curvygirls

Fruit of the Loom Women's SPAG Sports Bra, White/Heather Gray/Black, 36 (Pack of 6) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015R97SPS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_GNJ.yb6WE4Q4T

Im a fan of these. Not a ton of support if youre big or do high impact. But for lifting i find them super comfortable. They come in racerback too

u/tchaikovskaya92 · 3 pointsr/ABraThatFits

I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/Enell-Womens-Wire-Free-Sports-Black/dp/B000PCTM66/ref=sr_1_39?keywords=sports+bra&qid=1557153737&s=gateway&sr=8-39

It's a bit on the pricey side, but I'm a 36DDD and it keeps everything in place, no matter what I do, I basically forget I have boobs when I work out lol. It's magical. I'd be curious if anyone else has this one and likes it just as much, though.

u/jleitei · 5 pointsr/ABraThatFits

I'm looking for something similar—haven't been able to find it, but if you want a sports bra that separates, try the Panache Underwire Sports bra: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B005X5FMYG/ It's been a godsend for me

u/galaxystarsmoon · 4 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I really like the basic Champion sports bras that are just a soft cotton with elastic. They never bother my neck. They used to sell them at Target but I find that the ones Target carries now are a lot heavier duty and not as soft and comfortable.

u/ElectroShark · 2 pointsr/xxfitness

I'm smaller band but still have issue getting things that fit my small boobs and can get off over my shoulders while sweaty (being A cup most annoyingly tend to just be crop styles rather than having clasps). A couple I like are http://www.amazon.com/Shock-Absorber-Womens-Support-Sports/dp/B00AZLJT1A but the smaller cup sizes never seem to get any colour apart from black and white.

Also http://www.amazon.com/Champion-Womens-Show-Off-Sports/dp/B00AHRDK4Y although this is just s-xl so I don't know how that will work for you.

u/aewillia · 5 pointsr/running

Panache is the recommended brand pretty much unanimously in other threads like this one.

u/Scaaaary_Ghost · 1 pointr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

The best option I've found for a sports bra that is supportive but doesn't give me "uniboob" under clothing is the Panache underwire sports bra. Unfortunately, they're normally super expensive, so it's something where I keep an eye out for sales, but they're hard to get on short notice on a student budget.

Is there something you can do about not having time to fully change before gym? That seems unreasonable to me.

u/greentravelgirl · 1 pointr/Reduction

I know nothing of that particular one but that is the boob holder down thing that is supposed to work very well.

I use these at work (without the padding) to keep mine in check: https://www.amazon.com/FITTIN-Racerback-Sports-Bras-Seamless/dp/B016MXOY00/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=fittin+sports+bra&qid=1554229739&s=gateway&sr=8-3

I came across this Booband while shopping online for sports bras. Maybe this might help?

u/thesame10things · 1 pointr/xxfitness

I recently had to buy a non-sport bra to wear with a dress and confirmed that you get what you pay for with bras. Wacoal and Glamorise are two of my recommendations for sport bras.

u/chucksluck · 1 pointr/xxfitness

I am the same chest size as you and feel your pain (literally). I have been doing the Strong Curves program and there are a lot of moves that really have helped my upper back and chest. Those being bent over rows, underhand grip pulldowns, good mornings and my chest has benefited a ton from bench press.

Also, I know a lot of people love the Panache, but it didn't work for me. Maybe the [Enell] (http://www.amazon.com/Enell-Maximum-Control-Wire-Free-Sports/dp/B000PCTM66/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450736357&sr=8-1&keywords=enell+sports+bra) would be good for you...its ugly as hell but holds the girls right where they need to be.

u/baaaaanana · 6 pointsr/progresspics

This sports bra has changed my life! It's a little pricey, but it keeps these bad boys down. I used to get bruises on top of my boobs after working out. It was weird and embarrassing.
