All good questions!

-If you're coming up 43 from Milwaukee, I'd highly recommend visiting the USS Cobia in Manitowoc. It's the most intact submarine from WWII on the US and it's awesome. I'd also say you should stay there (you can actually stay overnight in the sub!) but it seems that it's full for Saturday 11/8. Definitely a unique experience. The tours are great as well.

-Depending on the quality of stay and the price you want to pay, staying an hour out would most likely be cheaper. Some of the hotels in GB/Ashwaubenon have been pretty heavily used and are also pretty expensive/hard to book for days around games. Manitowoc is about 45min out if you wanted to just end your Saturday there.

-I'll admit it might be a bit weird to have someone come up randomly to tailgate. However, if your dad brought his own stuff (grill, beer, food) and mosied on over to people near him, they would probably be okay with that. I usually enjoy meeting new people, but I can't speak for everyone. Make sure he is wearing some Packer gear and that he doesn't try to hang with some Bears fans (unless you're Bears fans, may God have mercy on your souls...). I kid, I kid.

Gates open about 2 hours before game time for the entire stadium usually. The Atrium is usually open about 4 hours before (and it's indoor, not bad in November). You don't need a ticket to get inside the Atrium usually, but once you've used a ticket get in, you have to stay inside the stadium; there is no re-entry. Here's a list of most questions you would need answers to.

-The camera: Per the guide above, as long as your lense is under 12" you should be fine. The bag will not be okay though. You'll need one of the clear 12x12x6 NFL bags. I have a few of these and they fit my DSLR. You'll just have to be a bit more careful than with your normal bag.

Hope this helps! Go Pack Go!

Edit: Link formatting. Also, I'll be at that game so I hope our offense has worked out the links by then!!

> Can't buy certain things in the UK, like antibiotics or anything you'd inject. Things like that are very tightly controlled by the NHS. I'm getting a tourniquet, saline solution, gauze and low adherent pads.

I totally get that. I would suggest looking into "animal pain killers." The often aren't regulated the same way those made for humans are but (from what I understand) they are simply the generic version of a drug in a less regulated facility.

> Everything in that FA pouch is very thin and fits very comfortably in the flat pocket at the back of my bag. I could remove the water purification pills, but they weigh about 100mg, so it having it isn't a downside at all.

I understand that it weighs next to nothing. But a dozen next to nothings adds up to something. The point of an "every day carry" is to demonstrate the equipment that you carry on your person and use everyday. This sub just takes it a step further and is often used to display EDC's in a "cool" format. Try and cut it down to things you actually need. My first few go bags and hiking bags I had were cumbersome and I often carried things I didn't need because I wanted to be ready for everything. Try and be ready for what is feasibly possible, not for trying to triage a plane crash.

> I can't drive, so another secondary bag isn't really in the equation yet. I agree having a small notebook is a good plan, but I feel like anything I need to note down I can do on my iPhone. Everything other than the first aid stuff, I use every day, or need to have with me. The pack has enough pockets that everything is always where I expect it to be. If you look at the picture I put up of me wearing it around the back, I can get anything I need to without looking, so swinging it round the front or just taking it off would make it stupidly easy to find stuff.

You don't have to drive to keep a medical bag somewhere feasible. Ask your employer if you can store it on site or simply just keep it in your backpack with our lunch or something. You can still keep all of the medical stuff like bandages in there. Things like tourniquets are going to have a very low chance of ever being used and its obviously great to have it and not need it then need it and not have it. But even a quality tourniquet can wait 2 minutes while pressure is maintained so that you can grab your bag.

If you plan on carrying more, it is going to make it harder to find the things you need without dumping everything on the group. Which you don't want to do if you're having to move around. I suggest getting a different bag, something like this would offer a greater carrying capacity and the ability to add/remove bags to fit your needs.

Pistachio butter Would make a great unique gift.

Cosmos and Neil DeGrasse Tyson related

One of Louis C. K.'s DVDs. All his DVDs are pretty cheap on Amazon.

So much Licorice!

Fun book all about New York.

You're sweet to want to treat him to gifts. Happy early Birthday to your dad! I love shopping for others.

Edit to add coffee Community Coffee is made in New Orleans and living in South Louisiana it's the coffee king down here. Where I live there is a CC's coffee house on every corner like Starbucks in Seattle. I had to recommend this coffee to you for your dad. The Cafe El Special is the smoothest greatest coffee.

Echoing that it I absolutely prioritize comfort and practicality over fashion for luggage.

Right now I have a carry on 21" spinner (Delsey) I can't find the exact one but this one has more similar wheels which has turned out great. It's pretty much as big as I'll ever need -- I packed most of my clothes for college in it after expanding it. The construction seems great but I've only had it for a year.

For smaller bags I have this Nike gym bag that I primarily use for the gym but I've been known to toss it in the wash and take it with me on small trips (~4 days) because it's a free carry-on on Frontier.

Then I have a (normal school) backpack which tbh I use more than anything else. It's this Hershel backpack -- which I use as a personal item (I generally fly Southwest so I have the carry on + backpack). ETA: Maybe it's because I'm not actually fashionable IRL but I prefer to carry a backpack rather than a purse when travelling because I can carry stuff in it (let's be real I use this bag to carry my groceries at college) -- including a small camera, some snacks, my wallet, jacket, etc. I unexpectedly had to stay at a hostel recently (didn't pack light at all) and I'm probably paranoid but it gave me peace of mind to carry my passports, wallet, and a couple other valuables on my person rather than leave them in the room.

Be realistic on how much you want to invest in luggage. Depending on how much travel you do don't discount grabbing a cheap bag from Walmart/Target. When we were kids my parents just got us cheap bags knowing that they'd be abused. My Target bag lasted 10 years, my brother has one from Walmart that was $30 is 18+ years old and still is going strong (it's been on all family trips -- min of 4/year -- and to 8 band camps).

Here is what works for me! Hope it helps :)

Long term storage:

I have a small unit that all the supplies live in permanently, which can stay in a closet or under the bed, and having a separate tote for my current project.

For you I'm picturing something like this: https://www.target.com/p/translucent-tote-handbag-shade-shore-153/-/A-53913203?preselect=53752648#lnk=sametab or

https://smile.amazon.com/Clear-Bag-Stadium-Approved-Games-Cross-Body/dp/B01NAJELJ3/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1543006502&sr=8-3-spons&keywords=zipper+tote&psc=1 or

https://www.target.com/p/sterilite-174-clear-plastic-under-bed-storage-bin-clear-with-white-lid-7gal/-/A-13794483 to hold all your extra fabric, hoops, and floss.

I like to wrap my thread and organize by color, I use these for storage:

https://smile.amazon.com/Plastic-Bobbins-Floss-Needlecraft-Organizer/dp/B000BKVMOM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1543005340&sr=8-3&keywords=floss+bobbin+storage

It has one section that is a bit bigger than the others, which is where I keep needles, seam rippers, thimbles, etc.

Short term - Project in process:

When I am working on a project, I take all the necessary colors and clip them together using one of these binder rings, example:

https://www.staples.com/Staples-Loose-Leaf-Rings-1-Size-Silver/product_481326

Then I have a particular zipper pouch that I keep everything in for a project. There are all kinds of cute ones out there. I'm currently hunting for a zipper pouch which has an interior zipper pocket as well to hold little scissors and a needle threader. Currently I just use a Klein Tool bag that my SO gave me. The hoop, bundle of floss, scissors, etc all fit in there nicely and make it really easy for your project to be portable. It makes it easy to have a central location where the project lives and everything goes back inside every time.

If you want a thin wallet above all else, I'd recommend the Big Skinny models. They have a variety of different sizes, and their claim to fame is their thin nylon material, and card placement designs. I use a Big Skinny Open Sided Mini Skinny, which is pretty small but has a leather face, and easy access to the 2 main pockets.

They're not the most attractive, but they're pretty cheap and hold up well. The leather is a really thin top grain, so it gets scratched up easily but looks alright.

u/cleanedge · 2 pointsr/minimalism

Chum's Wallet A slide out place for your most used credit card. Transparency for your ID. Key ring for your keys. And most importantly for me, zippers for your coins. I only grab this (which I hang on a 3M Command Hook) + cell phone on my way out the door in the morning. I used this to replace a Dash 2.0 Minimalist wallet where even modest coin management was a bit of a chore. As an aside, and I travel a bit for business, for receipts, there's CamScanner.

I've long minimized coins by never carrying more than a dollar's worth, trying to turn it into as many quarters as possible (something I learned from my father). If something is $1.28, and all you have is a 10 dollar bill and change, pay $10.28 if you have it, $10.03 if you don't, getting back three quarters. If something is $5.74, pay $5.74, or in lieu of that, $5.24. If you have a lot, many grocers will allow you to turn any amount of coins into gift cards. Then there is tipping. The easiest thing of all is to pay everything with Visa. Every automatic bill paid (like Utilities, Phone, Internet, Water) is one less transaction you have to fuss with, and all your expenses get tracked and turned into pretty charts in places like Mint.com besides. At the end of the month, I enter a value and press a button to automatically transfer it from my bank account to the credit card company.

u/emmaballoo · 5 pointsr/Mommit

You may find that a deep purse like that one is more frustrating than helpful, as everything gets lost.

Seconding /u/Ploppers00. A backpack purse might be your best bet! They have some really really cute ones for cheap - $25, $24, $70.

A backpack purse + zippered pouches to keep things organized inside might be your best bet here. I really like these because they're waterproof and machine washable.

u/vxcosmicowl · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This cute backpack might be up your alley. If you hate purses, a backpack is a great alternative. You can carry it like a purse, over one or both shoulders...it's versatile. Also, you can fit your iPad or a swimsuit or a change of clothes in there if you're going somewhere overnight.

I chose this one because it's simple, but the gold accent still gives it a little sophistication. It's structured and has classic lines. It's very inexpensive and has good reviews as well.

I love purses so this was fun

  1. This wallet is the most expensive thing on my wishlist.

  2. I really just loved it because it's beautiful and I adore Michael Kors.

  3. I would be okay with that. I don't need to own expensive things. Sometimes, they're just pretty and make you feel good.

Now I'll be singing Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds all day long... & I'm okay with that.

PS. I like this contest because it had me re-examine the things on my "expensive list"... the most expensive thing (above) is pretty but not really "useful" but my second most expensive is. Maybe I should re-think my priorities!

When they mean clear bags they mean it. With all that has been happening with shootings in Miami and around the United States they are cracking down. Security it's going to be tight especially after the bar shootings and the airport shootings. Spend the extra few bucks and buy a clear bag off of Amazon or whatever sight you get your gear from.

Workout out clothes - always. Gym bag - never had this one but I linked it on my 'wish list' since it seems to suit my purposes. I just got new shoes last year so I'm good on that. I'm... easy :)

I bought an Under Armour sling backpack for walking around the city, and it's been on of the best bags I've had. It holds quite a bit and is comfortable.

That and a light jacket...those are the 2 things I tell friends who are visiting SF to bring with them.

u/Omap · 4 pointsr/HomeImprovement

I like the rothco bags you can get on amazon.

They're cheap, and unlike the HF "voyager" bags they are pretty well made, cotton canvas with thick zippers. I much prefer cotton, way more durable than the thin nylon and won't separate at the seams. I've been using this one for my work tools for ages and it's not ripped at all. Plus you can throw them in the wash to clean them.

u/EncomCEO · 1 pointr/Nationals

Just to be safe, I ordered two 12x12x6 clear bags and will just use those. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NAJELJ3?pf_rd_p=76bd99fd-409f-46a4-9ff6-b66b5703e95b&pf_rd_r=AYSH4BX5S90HM5RS99KJ

Better safe than having to scramble for one of those lockers on a bobblehead day.

u/csgoleakz · 1 pointr/bodybuilding

I have one of these and it's awesome. It has a nice little zipper pouch to store important small things like earbuds and a ton of room for clothes or lifting gear or whatever and even has a shoe tunnel, which is dope.

u/gub117 · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I have this Columbia Security wallet because I travel a lot, and I don't like carrying big bags. This carries all of my credit cards and ID, as well as some cash. I can put it in my pocket, a small crossbody, or anywhere! I love it.

u/mx_Seattle · 1 pointr/bjj

I like those but for a cheaper option but not as big, I have this one and it pretty good - especially at $40. I wanted a mesh backpack so things would air out a bit after class.

u/mollymcdeath · 8 pointsr/Predators

I bought one of these about halfway through the 17-18 season and it's been great. Big enough for all the things I need to bring along (since my lady-jeans pockets are only about 2" deep), and big enough to fit my game notes in there too. Towel/T-shirt nights I just tie those on to the strap. I thought it'd fall apart pretty quickly but it's been through hell and still perfectly fine. I should probably clean it though, it tends to thrown down and get kicked around once in awhile post-game.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/declutter

I scan my loyalty cards into Google Wallet and throw them away. ID + credit card + health insurance card I put in a minimalist wallet. If you search for minimalist wallet it's an entire cottage industry. You don't need more than one credit card, right?

I searched a lot for such a wallet and had luck with Chums Surfshort Wallet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003CK2EFO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_JAqSyb237S9V8

Not the slimmest you could find but it's functional and secure with two zippers and importantly it has an integral keychain and a pocket for such keys. For me it's a must since I can use one Tile to find both my keys and the wallet (and because I still struggle with clutter I search for it quite often)

u/Gamesenhanced · 1 pointr/boardgames

Interesting idea. I guess I will see what is costs once it launches. For now I use an Adidas Gym Bag.

I would go with a bag not a backpack. Some stadiums won't allow clear backpacks.

There are a bunch of options on Amazon if you search 'Clear Stadium Bag'

Such as: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010RBSAC6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_tLf9AbSKTX4QJ

This is the one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MUBNNQT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_1Jf9AbW7B7V8C

Taylor is also selling a Reputation one you could buy online beforehand

u/JsterJ · 2 pointsr/WaltDisneyWorld

I like going with a clear bag, maybe like this. It might not be the most durable bag, but it makes bag checks a bit faster.

u/LikesBoardGames · 11 pointsr/orlando

I don't know why you are getting so many downvotes. Here is a picture of a 12x12x6 bag

It seems like you can feet a lot of stuff in that bag.

u/sillybun99 · 2 pointsr/minimalism

Used to carry a Dash. When it wore out, I really decided I missed a place to store my coins because they'd fall out every now and then. The Chums wallet has two zippered pockets as well as a quick access pocket, a keyring so there's less one thing to grab, and is less than half the price of a Dash to boot.

u/realslacker · 1 pointr/Fitness

I just got the Adidas Team Speed Duffel, before that I was using a duffel designed for my motorcycle hard bags. I chose this one because of the separate shoe compartment and outside side pocket that runs the length.

I carry lifting shoes, towel, gym clothes, toiletries, 8x 1/2lb plates, a tennis ball, and headphones.

u/shakyjellyfish · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

I have a Chums Surfshort Wallet because I wanted something that could hold up to a lot of abuse.
It fits easily into my back pocket, has a clear ID window, a cash compartment, and a space where i can slide my lip balm. It may not be beautiful, but it's very functional.

u/spaghetti216 · 3 pointsr/WrestlemaniaPlans

She will probably be fine with a small wallet, but anything bigger needs to be clear. This is the bag I took to Wrestlemania last year, and I guess I'll have to pull it back out this year. It's ugly, but most people will have one, and it'll come in handy.
