1. Instant Granite Counter Top Self-Adhesive Vinyl Laminate Sheets, Great As Kitchen, Wall, Bathroom, Cabinet and Shelf Decor Covers (36" x 72” Inches, Faux Italian White Marble Design)

    Features:
  • ALMOST MARBLE: Premium quality vinyl laminate sheets from Instant Granite provide the unique look of genuine stone for just a fraction of the price. High resolution scans of actual granite tiles are taken to create true-to-life repeating patterns across the self-adhesive paper. Transform your tired countertops with the realistic colors, designs, and richness of marble.
  • DESIGNED FOR PERFECTION: Measuring 36” wide with a choice of various lengths, one roll of vinyl peel and stick film covers a long section of countertop with fewer seams for a clean, professional finish. Instant Granite’s collection of laminated sheets includes today’s most popular genuine granite and marble options. These are the perfect complement and decorative feature for your DIY upgrade!
  • TROUBLE-FREE INSTALLATION: With a self-adhesive backing, simply peel and spread across the countertop with the squeegee included in the kit. Gridlines on the back make it easy to accurately measure and cut any size or shape. The no-bubble backing allows air bubbles to escape through special channels for a smooth countertop finish. Unhappy with your application? No sweat! Since full adhesion only occurs after a few hours, remove the film carefully and reapply it to the surface.
  • FADE, WATER, STAIN, TEAR & HEAT RESISTANT: Instant Granite’s countertop peel and stick laminating sheets are made of durable, calendared PVC vinyl - the same material which printers and sign shops use to wrap vehicles. Sealed with a clear glossy laminate, your counters will hold up to the normal wear and tear of daily living and usage.
  • UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES: Don’t stop with countertops alone! Continue up the backsplash, cover a table, line shelves…practically any flat, non-porous surface and wall. These vinyl sheets are ideal for refinishing counters in the kitchen, bathroom, wet-bar, and more. Spruce up your home, apartment rental, or RV without great expense.

If you like bright rooms, you might try to find a more modern yellow color that you like that will pick up the flecks in that counter. I like these two for bright colors:

In other random suggestions from an internet stranger, there is such a thing as peel & stick countertop. "Instant granite". It is getting pretty decent reviews online. I have no experience with it myself, but you do not have a ton of counter space, and it is fairly affordable in small pieces. So if you get it and hate it, it would not be a big deal to get rid of. You might like the kitchen better if you didn't feel your counter came from hell. And then you could do whatever color scheme you've always dreamed of.

For example:

Great Falls for the wall color: https://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW6495-great-falls#/6495/?s=coordinatingColors&p=PS0
White Marble on the counters: https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Granite-Adhesive-Laminate-Application/dp/B00DSRG376
And a touch of fake backsplash for fun (I'd use half the height of what is shown): https://www.amazon.com/Art3d-Stick-Kitchen-Backsplash-Sticker/dp/B01AJ4O8FO/

that floor tho..... I hope you get the laminates.

I think it's a console sink. Haven't seen any quite like that except in old interior design books, but maybe something like this would feel similar?

And something like these [peel-n-stick tiles] (http://www.amazon.com/Armstrong-Afton-Self-Stick-Diamond-Flooring/dp/B001DKNUSU) might also give a similar effect, albeit without the decorative edge.

This stuff? Looks like they are still selling 2mm, 3mm, and 5mm versions.

^ link to 2mm version

Looks like Amazon sells these too, when in stock:

Just peel and stick! Tip: Subfloor surface must be clean- smooth- and level.

^^ says Amazon

So you still might be able to get 3mm, maybe.

But I doubt you would want it, given the failure of the product.

I would guess that if the flooring gods were with you and the floor was nice and flat and the surface of a good material to which the planking' adhesive would bond well to, that this product could work as a decent flooring material. In the real world though, I would not use it...too many opportunities for failure.

I think that the fault is more on the installer than Lumber Liq. myself. The subflooring has to be flat and clean; I don't see how this would be possible w/o either pouring self leveling concrete or putting down a new plywood subfloor (plywood being 1 side pre-sanded variety) prior to install.

And plywood? Usually takes well over a month to get nice and flat...sitting in the place where its to be installed...for this application.

I know with my plywood I got, most were flat after a week but some sheets took 3 mos to get flat (I did not play the water this side-water that side game...I just let them sit against a wall so that they could breath). ..I ordered all boards at once (50 of 'em--4 ended up being extra, so pretty good estimating there) once I figured out after ripping out some carpeted areas that a new subfloor would be needed...so it did not delay my project timeline).

My advice? Tear up the vinyl, put in 3/4 hardwood or quality engr. wood (that I refuse to buy) to replace.

Want $$$ from 1st install - sue installer.

When I see "just peel and stick" .. I shudder.

How about commercial vinyl baseboard trim?

https://www.amazon.com/M-D-Building-Products-75887-120-Feet/dp/B000BOCA6M?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_12

I'd probably just paint it to somewhat match the floor and call it good.

I know it's not your job to fix something like this, but if it bothers you enough, you could buy something like this adhesive trim and put it along the crack

u/samabacus · 0 pointsr/DIY

Saved you a click https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004L7EMNO?ref_=Oct_CARAsinC_2231037011_2 this looks similar. Use extra adhesive

A typical single car garage is something like 20' deep and 10' wide. 200 square feet. If you put your drywall 1/4" off of the ground, as is typical, you would stay dry until 1/4" * 200sqft = 6.6 cubic feet of water accumulated. That's roughly 50 gallons.

So I know there are places in the US that get a lot of snow... But not enough to melt into 50 gallons of water. And if it does, your garage probably has a slight slope to it (almost all do) that will naturally drain the water out the garage door.

I'm currently renovating my garage, and I left 1/4" of space, and I will be putting "Cove Base Trim" around the floor. It's a 4" tall, thin vinyl trim that will withstand any splashes.

Once you replace your drywall I'd suggest installing this

M-D Building Products 73898 4-Inch by 60-Feet Dry Back Vinyl Wall Base, Silver Gray https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000R3X10G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Hx8qzb2R0SN2F

Should prevent any water wicking up the drywall again.

I found these interlocking vinyl tiles at Lowe's the other day that I'm thinking about doing as my backsplash. I ordered a sample in 4 different colors.
