I second darn tough socks. I also hate the feeling of seams on socks. Darn tough are very cozy and comfortable and I’m sitting here at work pushing my toes to the front of my socks trying to feel the seam and I can’t. I’m not sure about the female equivalent socks I use but these look about right. Light cushion is their thinnest, cushion is a good everyday sock and full cushion is thickest and best for winter. I hope this helps. I absolutely love my socks and have turned 5 people on to them who have all now got rid of all their old socks and only wear these. I realize I’m starting to sound like I work for them I swear I don’t lol.

I got the Point6 socks on sale for $10.99 at Eddie Bauer when I had a $10 reward certificate, so I literally got them for a dollar and change. My Point6 socks are lime green. Like my Darn Tough running socks, they are also no-show tab socks. I'm not a fan of the lime green, but I'm not going to complain about color when they cost a dollar.

Both are running socks. Both have held up equally well. Both retain their shape. Neither of them is prone to foot odor. For the two brands in comparable socks, I cannot find a reason one is better than the other (unless you count color, and that's not a brand-thing).

Because I adore my Darn Tough running socks, I ordered some other Darn Tough styles. I don't like them nearly as much. These attract every fuzzy in the house:

They are also a challenge to put on. The ankles aren't tight while they are on, but they have very little give. They are hard to pull over the heel. I've also had trouble with the footbed stretching. I can wear my running socks for a week straight without any deformation, stretching, or stink. These stretch after just a day. By the end of the day, when I put my foot in my shoe for the umpteenth time, I might start to get a crease somewhere.
I got these in both "midnight" and "gray". The "midnight" version looks very fuzzy after washing rather than retaining its original appearance. Combined with the lint-magnet quality, I'm not keen on the "midnight" version. The "gray" version did a much better job of retaining its original appearance after washing.

I haven't worn these enough to determine whether there are any problems with footbed stretch. I specifically purchased them to wear at work because "charcoal" looked black in the listing. It isn't black. I'm in the Navy and wanted to wear them with my uniform, but am restricted to black socks, so they are a no-go. At some point, I'll probably wear them enough to give an in-depth review, but haven't had a chance yet.

I'm a teacher and I'm moving to Costa Rica in a month, where apparently all you do is sweat so I've been doing some research on this!

Target has some cheap linen stuff on their website right now. I bought the shirts, and they're really comfortable! They're huge compared to normal Mossimo sizing though, so read the size chart before you buy.

I also got these pants from Roxy that I'm totally in love with and don't look too casual if your shirt is long enough.

Other than that, I got some maxi skirts so I can still bend down without kids being all up in my crotch and some dolman tops, which are lovely because they're not all up in your armpits so the sweat stains don't show.

The fit was perfect (at least for what I was looking for)! It may run just a tad bit big (which may just be because it's a relaxed-fit shirt), but I'd go with whatever your normal size is. I tend to wear smalls, so I ordered a small. I had thought about sizing up (based on the reviews of some of the Columbia shirts), but I'm glad I didn't. I can take a fit picture of me wearing it if it'd be helpful. I also considered a few other shirts (listed below).

And you said she is a nurse. If she is still working and standing most of the time, I think these compression socks will be useful for her

Wouldn't buy- sewing kit. I have a smaller one currently, but it's missing most of the items in it. I don't use it very often so I wouldn't buy myself a new one, but it would be great for my backup kit.

Would buy- socks. Because I love hiking and can never have enough socks for it. It's also the perfect time of year to break them in before a big hike in spring.

They pack down into the side pocket, so I could carry them in a pack to have handy if needed. They were loose enough that I could just pull them on over merino leggings which is mostly what I wore when I was there. But they still had a bit of a shape to them so it didn't look like I was wearing a plastic garbage bag like some rain pants do. With those plus some tights underneath I was perfectly warm and dry.

Ankle height merino wool socks. People assume wool means warm and itchy, not the case. They can be used all season, as they are thermo-regulating, keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. They also wick away moisture and dry quickly, while giving an excellent extra layer of padding. I wear them casually now too. So comfy.

I recommend getting tall socks and something like this. Jeans are the pretty much the worst possible thing you could wear to work outside in the summer. I assure you that they make outdoor pants that are thin enough to easily tuck into your socks. Been working outside on the Gulf Coast doing bio research for 5 years and you couldn't pay me enough to wear jeans to work.

Wool socks are great gifts. They're pricey if you need to buy a weeks worth all at once. I really like Darn Tough socks. They're better quality than Smartwool and guaranteed for life.

The real problem is that there is such a wide range of temperatures here in Fairbanks (80F in the summer down to -40 or -50 in the winter) that you really need two or three pairs of everything. Your -40F mittens are going to make you really uncomfortable when its +20 out. Same with your heavy down parka and your heavy boots. But I wear hiking weight wool socks and normal boots every day from September to May if I'm not going to be outside for the whole day and my feet stay warm.

I like these Columbia ones. I wear them for hiking and like to have pockets for things and because they're belted, I don't have to worry about them moving down. I'm fairly girly though so I like the length of them. If you're looking for longer, maybe you want ones like this.

Stretch khakis, black tee, and jacket and/or sweatshirt depending on season. I tend to go with a khaki colored pants because my jackets are black. I love my Prana pants, but sometimes I also wear Dickies. I just like having a slightly thicker fabric than leggings when I travel.

These socks are very good if you wear cropped pants. The uniqlo socks always slid down showing skin. These stay up look good and dont fade.

I'll try to enter with these. Maybe not the fuzziest or cutest, but they are soft merino wool, have a lifetime warranty, and can be worn several days straight without any stink at all. They are tough enough for outdoor activities, too.

Even if they don't win, you should get a pair! I have two pairs, and they are very comfy. At least, comfy on my scruffy feet :)

I bought a pack of these socks from Costco last year. They haven't held up well at all. They've started to get holes. I've also got a pair of darn tough socks that I've worn for the last 7 years. They're in nearly the same condition as when I bought them, just a bit worn in places.

I also have about 24 pairs of these omni-wool socks I bought at nearly the same time. They're holding up as well as the darn tough and are much, much more comfortable. Though I did get them at $10 a 3 pack way back then. I still would buy more if I ever need to.

Also bought a pair of smartwool around the same time which are holding up pretty well. And a pair of wigwam then that are starting to get thin and go the way of the costco socks, but after a lot more time.
