look at the label on your supply for the watt rating. it will be 203w, 175w, or 150w. if it is 150w, then any of three will work. if it is 175w, then 203w and 175w supplies will work. if it is 203w, then you need to find another 203w supply.

just hit up craigslist or eBay and find any working supply. I see RROD 360s for sale on craigslist in my area quite cheap, $20-$30, and typically they include working power supplies. if you are in the USA, here is a 203w for $22 delivered on eBay.

this one on amazon looks fine too, but it is $30 and I think you need prime for free shipping on it. I did not read the reviews, but this says it is 203w, so it's pretty easy to check that. the 203w ends will work with any old style Xbox 360, regardless of what supply they originally came with (203w, 175w, 150w). If they send you a supply with a different watt-rating, then yeah, that could be a problem, if your 360 needs 203w.

These are the cables in use, and yes, there are probably a couple of weak links in here:

Xbox 360: https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-6FT-Component-Cable-Xbox-360/dp/B004C4U1VI/

Wii: Not this exact cable but something similar, 3rd party cable purchased at GameStop long ago - https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Component-Wii-Playstation-3-2/dp/B003SVVHIW/

Wii U: https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-6-Feet-Audio-Video-Component/dp/B003L14Y9I/

PS3: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Gold-Plated-Component-HD-AV-Cable-for-Sony-PS2-or-PS3-Retail-Pack/191850627294

Gamecube: Offical Nintendo GC cable

Daisy chain link: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Component-Video-Cable-Audio/dp/B01D5H8C4K/

gcompsw to BVM: unknown 3rd party component cable, have had a long time

The "noise" is visible regardless of which source is in use.
Having now typed all that out - would it be logical to first try replacing that unknown component cable feeding to the BVM with another Amazon Basics component cable (I have a spare)? Or are those trash?

While I can’t help you diagnose over the internet, I don’t know why you didn’t just buy one of these . Would have saved you time and there would be no risk of breaking anything. Best of luck.

Start Here

I'm not saying buy that one, it's just the first one that came up with a quick search that would fit. Do some research, find a seller/product combo you're happy with, and there ya go.

u/AndCockGoesTheGun · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

I can vouch for the $10.99 HDE adapter. You have to do a bit of work installing a driver (oh no, one minute of your time) but after that it works perfectly. Not sure why it's rated so low.

u/ave2 · 3 pointsr/Whatisthis

It's a Datel Xsata
http://www.datelcustomerservice.com/product_pdf/XBOX360%20-%20XSATA
http://smile.amazon.com/Datel-360-XSATA-Drive-Linking-System/dp/B000GBADDC

The Xsata allowed you to access the 360's hard drive through USB on your PC. Along with that modchip, I assume, the original user had the Xsata installed to make copying over games easier.

Something

Pooper Scooper

=)

I use this with the xbox chat adapter: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00O1CKQW0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

However you need an additional cable, I had an extra from my Cloud headset. Should be something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Headset-Controller-Adapter-Headsets-One/dp/B00MG73JV2/ref=pd_sim_63_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=41-87Lv9fYL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0162X4J5QKN6SWN7DYW8

The reason you need this extra dongle is because that third strip (don't know the name) on the cable to carry voice. If you just use the 3.5 to 2.5 with the 2 strips on either side only it will only have audio.

You're voice will now be way clearer and will actually get picked up by the Astro mic, because AG1 cable is complete garbage.

Why not get something like this that adapts your old fat power supply to work with a slim? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0093FQ9KS/

$5 is better than spending $30 for a whole power supply at GS!

u/spunker88 · 2 pointsr/techsupport

You'll need a AV cable for the Xbox 360 that will have RCA outputs on it, something like this. Then an RF modulator, this will allow your cable TV to pass through if you connect it to the ANT IN. Also if you have an old VCR laying around you can use that instead of buying an RF modulator.

u/bensly · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

This is the one I use. I like it because I don't need to hook it up to my computer. Just plug in a USB drive and press the record button. Then I just transfer the files to my computer and go from there.

It sounds like you have an "e" model which uses a different style av cable than the phat and the "s" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I6BOSYY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_p6eUzb7YYGMJJ)

> I said Bill Gates

Well there is your problem. Bill Gates no longer works at Microsoft. He is just a part time non executive chairman with no role now. He spends most of his time with his charity. He's busy saving the world from disease and giving kids an education. I'm pretty sure he doesn't care about your console.

Ask for the angry chair thrower aka Steve Balmer. DEVELOPERS DEVELOPER DEVELOPERS!

Why are you trying to contact the CEO directly anyway? It's not like they can just take time out to talk to you out of millions of customers while trying to run a company.

Also a USB device breaking your xbox does seem a bit far fetched. You could try The Consumerist if you feel that strongly about it.

Try connecting the kinect to your PC to see if it works. It may just have been a coincidence. Father son project time! or just but an adapter.

u/Purple7up · 1 pointr/oculus

(Kinect 360 adapter 8$)[https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Kinect-360-HandHelditems-Sketch-Universal/dp/B005EIXVAE]

(XB1 Kinect adapter 48$)[https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-9J7-00001-Kinect-Adapter-Windows/dp/B00NMSHT7E]

Still pretty expensive for the XB1 adapter but not more expensive than the Kinect itself.

u/SadXbox · 2 pointsr/xbox360

there is a composite video cable for the Xbox 360 E, which would give you analog stereo audio.

I am surprised that you have an LCD monitor that does not at least have a DVI input. I don't think I've ever seen an LCD display with only analog inputs.

u/IAmTheFatman666 · 1 pointr/xbox360

Xbox 360 Slim Power Brick

Here ya go. Should work just fine.

u/MyOtherAcctsAPorsche · 1 pointr/argentina

u/Anonymous_user_of_US · 1 pointr/xbox

It's the spot where your charger connects, here is a new charging cable since you may not have one.

u/ErantyInt · 1 pointr/crtgaming

If composite is your goal, a Pi is probably the cheapest way to get 240p.

Insten USB Breakaway Cable Compatible With MicroSoft xBox 360 https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B006GLM866/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_oYCYCbHQHFYHB

u/senlsessDoug · 1 pointr/whatisthisthing

This is part of a breakaway cable for an xbox360/one wired controller. Could be used with other devices but that is where I have most often seen it.

Link to it on amazon

u/Kuhmotionz · 3 pointsr/xbox360

They're only 15 bucks on Amazon

u/adamacuo · 1 pointr/linux_gaming

I've bought a few of these:

https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Compatible-Xbox-360-Controllers-Platforms/dp/B00LAAWMSW/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1521477727&sr=8-20&keywords=xbox%2B360%2Bwireless%2Breceiver&th=1

They work better in Linux than in Windows for whatever reason. In Windows you need to specifically set them up in the Device Manager and they tend to be a little glitchy, but under Linux / SteamOS I've had no problems whatsoever.

u/Kayedon · 3 pointsr/gaming

Is this what you need? If not, point me in the right direction. Fuck shit, I'll buy you one.
