I may be bending the "PC Games" part here, but...

  • Sonic CD — Originally a Sega CD game, I'm shoehorning this in there as there was a PC port. Special features: Japanese and American soundtracks, Sonic CD engine was ported to Android/iOS (not an emulation!), save points, Tails added to the game.
  • Minecraft - Pocket Edition — Technically not a port of the PC version, so much as a recreation of the PC game for Android/iOS. Still missing a lot of features from the PC version, but if you're interested in the game, it might be worth it as they continue to add features. (Smart money tests the demo before spending any money, there are some incompatiblities)
  • Peggle — Popcap classic, like if Pachinko, Plinko, and Pinball had a lovechild. Available on the Play Store and the Amazon Appstore.
  • Words with Friends — Like Scrabble™, but different enough to keep Hasbro® off Zynga's back. Your play state syncs between the Facebook and Mobile apps, so play wherever. Available on the Play Store and the Amazon Appstore
  • Osmos — A very relaxing, peaceful game where you try and absorb other cells to become a larger cell. Big deal about it is the spacey music and elegant visuals.
  • World of Goo — Build bridges and collect goo. It was a big hit when it first came out, interesting little puzzle game. Kinda cute too.
  • Canabalt — Began as a free flash game, became a big deal on the iPhone. Now it's available on Android. Simple enough run-and-jump game, except all you can control is jumping. The music is pretty good too, runs in "classic" (8-bit-esque) and "HD" modes (sharp semi-3D graphics) and allows you to swap between the two in-game (alá Halo Anniversary). Available on the Play Store and the Amazon Appstore.

Yes it's finally happened the Boston Mayhem has been reconfigured to run on a mobile phone both in Android hosted by Amazon App Store and Windows hosted by Windows App Store.

The process to convert it from the PC supported Unity Steam version to the Android / Windows UWP version was incredibly difficult, how hard I hear you ask? I'll have nightmares about converting every Polyon Collider thoughout the game to Box Colliders till the end of time!!!

Initially I was not going to announce it because I didn't want to annoy the good people at Steam who took a chance on this game, and was just going to quietly work on it in the background.

However it turns out in order to make it run on an app I had to scale down the first level a bit, things like the glass coming out of windows now just disappears on the way down rather than hitting the ground and being removed by the coroners van, quirky little touches like that had to be removed or slimmed down.

Fortunately the rest of the game levels are almost identical and the video cut scenes which are completely identical so the whole point of the game - The Storyline - remains the same.

That then means Steam still hold the fastest PC supported version with all the trimmings for the hardcore gamers out there and now that the Beerman Website has had it's contacts page reconfigured to include the app addresses a new customer base is potentially on route to them.

Anyone who finds the game on Amazon App Store or on the Windows App Store will inevitably find the attached Beerman Website and since all the game buttons in the website are and will remain targeted at the Steam Website a whole bunch of folks who might not have frequented Steam will now be directed here.

So there are three winners from this process then :

  1. Steam win by getting unofficial advertising on their rivals websites through the Beerman Website directing a new bunch of folks to them.

  2. The fans win by getting news of one more step on this mad Boston journey.

  3. And I win by getting to laugh at all the old Greenlight haters who said this game was never going to go anywhere one more time.....

    Isn't Life Great!!! ːsteamhappyː

Tap Tap Infinity v0.3 iOS | Google | Amazon | Subreddit

So, a week (iOS) or two (Android) since this game went live and getting nothing but positive feedback on the game itself (which is awesome!). Would be great to hear from anyone using the shop - do you like it? Does it seem fairly priced? Are there other things you want to see for sale?

More interestingly, I'm considering adding a massive sub-layer to the game. The broad idea is that as you clear levels you slowly add to the population of the village you're saving. You can then set the villagers to building houses, collecting materials, etc. All to boost your hero DPS, or maybe unlock weapons to use in combat. Effectively this would add a more traditional incremental game underneath the clicker/idle dps game that it currently is.

While (to me) this sounds like a lot of fun I'm concerned it detracts from the simplicity of the core game. What do you think? Thanks!

Hi Reddit, Iwould like to promote our three android apps/games.

If you ever wanted to know in advance if an event will suck or not than this might be the right App for you.
Will it suck? is a fun app that will tell you in advance if an event will suck or not by asking you some questions.
It let's you enter any event of your choice and will then scientifically calculate the suckiness of it. Nevertheless It's up to you if you take the result serious or not.
The App also features a nice design and easy to use interface so that everyone can start right away.
Have fun!

ColorSplash is a fun, quite simple but challenging game about colours, like the name says. Your goal is it to survive as long as possible by matching the colour of a ball to the changing colour of the ground. It feartures three different modes including a Split-Screen Multiplayer. Feel free to try it out: Free but with some ads or Paid without any ads

ApocalypZ is a sniper simulation game, featuring realistic ballistics and nice 3D graphics. Your goal here is it to defend your fictional friend Hannah from incoming zombie waves, which is getting more and more difficult over time. It also features a training mode, where you can train yourself by shooting at targets. You can switch between different difficulties in the settings and choose f. ex. if you want to play with wind and gravity or not. Feel also free to try this game out: [Free with some ads] (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.MambaMobile.ApocalypZ) or Paid without any ads

Flipr (Formally Project Flip)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Google Play - Amazon - Website - YouTube - Twitter
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
___
Flipr is a 2d physics-based gravity puzzle platformer. (That's a mouthful...)

This week we finally released Flipr with a soft-launch on Google Play and Amazon on 3/15! It took many long nights to get it finished so quickly, but we're super happy with where we are right now. We've had 4 updates since launch, mostly fixing bugs/tweaking various settings. Our plan is to update the game a few times a week until we are 100% happy with it's stability, and play-ability. After that, we'll look into adding new content.

We also released our trailer, and game page!

We launched the game with 3 worlds, consisting of 16 levels each (that's 48 total for those of you without college degrees :D) If things go well, we'll add a few new worlds, with new mechanics. Time will tell, though!

P.S. Our website doesn't play super well with mobile yet, so keep that in mind. It runs fine, but the layout get's a little weird when there's largish content on the page.

There is an excellent software (at the moment I can't find it) that shows all kinds of firearms to be taken apart, and their inside workings. I am not into guns but I really liked the software. Try to search for it, very good for visualization and understanding...

Apparently there are a bunch of free apps, try these:

u/corkiejp · 1 pointr/AndroidGaming

Currently 33% off on both app stores:-

I bought it on 23/12/2014 for €4.65, Only now completed the full game on easy! that's a full month of occasionally playing it. Will be replaying it again at Normal level.

Highly recommend this game, works great on the Nexus 9, check the required specs for the game before purchasing.

> lets look at the permissions.... why does it require access to your device's camera and the ability to create network sockets? come on, think about it... if you look on this Poland based developers privacy policy, section 4.2.d, they have the right to (and do) collect images while using this app. this probably extends to stored photos too as you also grant access to protected storage. why? what possible use could this be to them?

Looks like one to avoid completely.

I love the Finn and Jake ones the most!

Any 8-bit video game icon would be great! What comes to mind first is Space Invaders and Minecraft.

> When one says "I play on PC" you expect they play with mouse+keyboard.

No, I don't. PC configurations vary and controllers are ubiquitous today. Heck, I have a couch gaming rig consisting of a PC with i5 4690k and GTX 970 mini connected to a 4k TV and game on it with PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers. Last night I was playing SSX 3 on it. Is that PS2 gaming or PC gaming in your mind? Because it's running on a PC, emulating a PS2, and playing upscaled in HD. Blurred lines and gray areas and all that.

Despite being solely a PC gamer these days, I still feel most games (barring 4x and competitive FPS titles) benefit from a controller over keyboard and mouse.

Also, there's nothing wrong with add-ons. The SNES had a Super Scope. Boktai for the GBA had a light sensor. There was a Wario game with an accelerometer. There was a Pokemon game that came with a pedometer for hatching eggs. Guitar Hero and Rock Band had instrument controllers. The Wii and Wii U have more peripherals than you can shake a stick at. You wouldn't say those weren't console or handheld games because of the add-ons.

There are Android games and ports made with controller in mind. Shovel Knight was ported to Android, but requires a controller. Do you claim it's not an Android game? It runs natively on the platform.

u/lnxr0x · 2 pointsr/Doom

You can still purchase through amazon app store. D-touch was pulled from the Play Store with little to no explanation from Google. Belokos ports are amazing!! Definitely grab this if your looking for a portable Doom experience!!

http://www.amazon.com/Beloko-Games-D-Touch-Port-Doom/dp/B00ZV118YK

u/Gollgagh · 1 pointr/Doom

D-Touch is currently your best bet, it supports chocolate doom, some version of prboom, and an old version of GZDoom.

Someone was working on a port to support newer versions, but I don't think he's made much progress (at least publicly).

u/softchassis · 1 pointr/Doom

Sorry in advance that this isn't really answering your question but, I tried a handful of them and all of the controls were too poor to use. Could barely get through E1M1 on UV.

It's $2.85 on Amazon, but D-Touch is seriously the best option and not in a "It's sucks less than the others" kinda way either. The controls are configured specifically for touch screens and they're highly configurable, and there's also support for gamepads. Not only that but it comes with PrBoom, Chocolate and GZDoom, and the GZDoom part is good enough to run most mods you throw at it provided your device is powerful enough--even Brutal Doom if you're into that.

The controls work like there's invisible joysticks on each lower corner of the screen, with the left side being for movement and the right being for aiming. There's a fire and use button on the right side, on the top edge of the aiming zone. Tapping the fire button and sliding your thumb around will continue firing.

I seriously recommend just forking over the 3 bucks for it like I did because it's seriously worth it, but I'm sure we'll all look the other way if you want to obtain it via other means.

u/Twofoe · 4 pointsr/eFreebies

Sorry :(

Maybe I can console you with a free Photo... Suite... 3. Darn. Well, check that page in another 21 hours and maybe something good will be on it.

EDIT: Amazon realized how much that app sucked, and replaced it with Age of Zombies prematurely. :)

u/db2 · 1 pointr/freebies

Unencumbered link

Also it's pretty good. The controls need a little work though.

u/androidgamerguy · 3 pointsr/AndroidGaming

It looks like it's still available on amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Kokak-Doom-GLES/dp/B0080GZAVA

In my opinion though, the best Doom port is D-Touch:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beloko.doom&hl=en

u/csolisr · 1 pointr/wiiu

Good idea! And if not, it's available in every system for about $15 (except for iOS, Android, Xbox 360 and perhaps Mac/Linux if I recall correctly).

EDIT: there is an Android port... but only on the Amazon's app store

ANOTHER EDIT: Sorry there, Mac and Linux do work nicely with Shovel Knight... one less reason to reboot into Windows I guess?

u/jaquanor · 3 pointsr/EmulationOnAndroid

Beloko had to move to Amazon, and made them temporarily free for people that had purchased them on Google Play, but that time passed long ago.

JK2-Touch on Amazon.

Holy shit, they fucking released an Android port?

Looks like it's available only through Amazon (made for Fire TV with a game pad). The product page says it's Treasure Trove, and the description includes all 3 campaigns so I'd say yes it does.

you need the Amazon app installed to download it though, there is a free version so give that a try. I hate using the amazon app so I just sideload it when I get new devices.

u/greggarz · 2 pointsr/AndroidTV

Download JK3-Touch, has full controller support. Copy the files from your Jedi Academy install location (eg Steam folder) to the location it tells you to on your TV and you're away.

D-Touch is probably the best DOOM engine port (it even supports GZDoom)

It was on Play, and Google pulled it. Not entirely sure why, but I can't even seem to find my older version to download, I should ask for a refund.

u/rube · 3 pointsr/AndroidGaming

Well, I just learned it's apparently on the Amazon App Store. It must be made for Fire TV type devices that require a controller anyway.

So in theory you could sideload the game, but I have a feeling that controller is going to be the only option unless someone else knows how to add touchscreen buttons to it.

I personally don't use it anymore, but I threw it in there to help people understand alternatives to Google.
