I would go more neutral, beige, brown. Size looks like you need bigger thinking 8 x 10. Measure and use the 3D app. I think 5 x 7 might be too small. The 3D thing helps give you an idea. From what I’m seeing is the brown couch, some red orange, some red. If you throw that into a rug it could get overly busy unless you find something you love. It needs to be big enough. Safavieh Hudson Shag Collection SGH280A Ivory and Grey Moroccan Ogee Plush Area Rug (8' x 10') https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PP4RJ6E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_zvJVDb8XCJHS4 ok so here’s what to think about. What length of rug do you want? Plush, Berber, thin and hand woven? How do you clean it? This matters because longer may not let a room a work. Kids? Stains? Pets? I like shag but didn’t buy shag. Why? I’ve got a cat that rarely gets sick. Cleaning that out of shag sounded horrible. Think about stains. So if you tend to spill things and stain things don’t go really light. The lightest I go is ivory. Really Dark can make the room look smaller but if your choice is dark or stains go dark. Amazon and Wayfair (they seem a bit higher than amazon) have 3D view or virtual view. Use that to at least see how rugs look in the room. It gives you an idea especially if you’re going out of your comfort zone. Something like this is lower pile. Unique Loom Autumn Collection Checkered Abstract Casual Warm Toned Multi Area Rug (9' 0 x 12' 0) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NCI6TR4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_kFJVDbB905ND1 it looks like you tend to stay with warmer colors. A cool colored rug would be tricky. I would stay warm. If you change colors often don’t pick a rug to match the room just go neutral. Sculpted rugs have designs cut into the carpet. Large sculpted usually look nice, smaller not so much. Certain sculpted look tacky. In general I would say yes to something like this. While there may be some guides as far as what to avoid like a tiny rug. It needs to be functional, your style (picking something that you don’t hate is different than you love, you’re spending good cash get you love), something you can vacuum. It’s going to be big enough taking it outside and shaking it is insane. Some prefer safe. Safe would be lighter brown or neutral like the following.

Just some links and suggestions to help you narrow it down. If you buy non prime from amazon you can message them to clarify if they charge return shipping if it doesn’t work for you. At 150 and over price tags some will offer it if you ask.

WOW! Thank you so much for the information. I very much appreciate the advice. I personally actually really like the pale yellow with white, but that's just me! Unfortunately I can't do anything to change the wall colors/paint at all since this is a rental. And as for my couch/armchair, I don't quite have the budget yet to purchase anything else. Sorry to place these restrictions on you, I really hope its possible to work within those!

Here is the rug I bought, to replace the one that is currently in the room:

And as for inspiration, I really love this, but I'd like to go not-so-monochromatic and more colorful:

What do you think of my wooden Oklahoma sign on the wall, is it too dark? Also on the subject of the gallery wall, is it crucial to frame them, or would something like this be okay? https://www.itsalwaysautumn.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/how-to-mount-photos-cheap-easy-make-gallery-wall-collage-foam-core-DIY-5.jpg

Yeah, you definitely want a direct drive turntable. I found a Technics 1200 in brand new condition for like $250, so that's what I am going to learn on (one of these days).

You also want to get a new cartridge and needle specifically designed for scratching. I just picked up and Ortofon Concorde Pro S, but there are a lot out there to choose from.

As far as a mixer, it's necessary that you pick up one with a steep slider slope. As you drag the slider from left to right, or right to left, a slow slope will slowly fade from one turntable to the other (or just get quieter and eventually silent). A steep slope means it will just cut the sound completely with a very slight move of the mixer (if that doesn't make sense let me know and I'll try to describe it better).

The problem with cheaper mixers is that the sliders tend to wear out quickly and are very expensive to replace, so it's definitely worth getting into a good mixer to begin with. I don't really have any suggestions because that's what I'm looking at now.

As far as learning, DJ Qbert has amazing DVD series called Do It Yourself Skratching where he covers all the techniques. A few of the lessons are on Youtube.

Oh, edit. you'll want to get Qbert's Butter Rugs and he has some amazing battle records released through his Thud Rumble company, too.

What about something a little crazier...like this royal blue pattern rug?

Now this is a cheap poly rug...so you'd definitely want to get a nice thick rug pad with it.

But I think blues, whites, greys, and ivories would look good in this space.

couple blue and white pillows, maybe a white linen lamp shade instead of the odd yellowish one.

This blue geometric shape rug is pretty cool too

u/RubySapphireGarnet · 2 pointsr/January2018Bumpers

Ooh I would love a link for that!! Right now I'm think Grey crib and green chevron sheets,

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P76ZO1C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_3W1dzbNC0M2FJ

That rug

I was just going to link my pinterest on it but it's gotta be secret right now lol. Would you want to PM me your email and I'll add you as a collaborator and we can do it together? :)

u/cuppachowder · 2 pointsr/DesignMyRoom

This rug would look great! It’s lighter so it will be pretty neutral other than brightening up the space.

nuLOOM Moroccan Blythe Area Rug, 6' 7" x 9', Grey/Off-white https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HDWIRQG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_elSiDbNQ1NCVZ

I got one of these to protect my floor, this pen (which is super easy to reconfigure), and this rug. I actually got two of everything and put it all together so that my bun has like 4' by 10' all to herself. I don't feel guilty when I have to leave her in her pen when I go to work/class, but of course she gets to roam around the house when I'm home. :)

u/crazybugzzzz · 2 pointsr/billiards

I've never leveled a table but that sounds annoying at best.

If it were me, I'd get a much bigger rug and cut the thing so that the feet make direct contact with the floor and so that I could remove it entirely for cleaning, or whatever. I just made this drawing. The peach is the carpet, and the black line is the slit I'm talking about, with circles cut out for the feet. If you get a good rug pad it should stay in place where you make the slit on the side..

That is what I'd do :)

EDIT: Note about the rug pad, I'd cut it the same way as the rug, but I'd install it so that the slit in the rug pad but installed 180 degrees opposite. This way the slit in the rug would be on the solid side of the pad, and the slit in the pad would be on the solid side of the rug.

EDIT 2: You could also use a flexible glue and something very thin (like fabric) under the carpet so that the slit wouldn't come apart.

u/mrfeelg00d · 1 pointr/malelivingspace

Yeah, the idea is there it just needs some updated furniture. I've got the funds tucked away so was just hoping to get an idea of where to start. I am thinking a new larger rug, new coffee and side table(s?), then some wall art and accent pillows?

I really like the look of this type of rug, do you think I could work that into the room?

u/MrGelowe · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

When I had carpet everywhere I bought bamboo floor mat to put on the PC. They are pretty cheap. InterDesign Bamboo Floor Mat, 24-Inch by 48-Inch, Natural https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0052JOJHE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_U4ElzbAN8KPV6

Thanks!

Actually just some foam that came in an Ikea box. As for the sub, I was originally planning on a BIC F12 or an R-10SW, but the sub was shelved for now. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

This will be the rug I have once its delivered, but no rug yet.

Also, dimensions wise, the TV stand is 70" with about 20" on either side.

u/Soupchild · 3 pointsr/Stepmania

You don't need a particular DDR mat. Get a rubber mat, like the one people put under rugs. It will be virtually impossible for your ddr pad to slip on this.

Random 1st thing that popped up on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Rug-Wrench-Washable-Non-Slip/dp/B00SPIZG7G/ref=sr_1_7?s=furniture&ie=UTF8&qid=1456890557&sr=1-7&keywords=rug+pad

u/Seangel-zero · 3 pointsr/SchoolIdolFestival

I always play with anti-slip mats. I'm doing fine with slide notes on sukufesu or deresute.

u/splelling · 1 pointr/buildapc

That's the top you want to use? That fibre board & vaneer style will just sit on top of another tabletop. You could buy some non-slip mat and put it between the two.

u/Tickerbug · 5 pointsr/frenworld

Fren u need to get a floormat, like dis on: bamboo flor mat

u/bizznissphil · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

You could just use something like This

u/Prumpkin · 4 pointsr/moderatelygranolamoms

DII Contemporary Reversible Indoor Area Rag Rug, Machine Washable, Handmade from Recycled Fabrics, Unique For Bedroom, Living Room, Kitchen, Nursery and more,, 4 x 6' - Multi Colored https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LTT79H8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_NdSDCbP4MAYZ1

I really like these ones! Not very plush but sturdy and machine washable!

u/djfc · 1 pointr/Beatmatch

Keep your existing slipmats, and just put wax paper under it.

If that's beneath you, then I used to use butter rugs (http://www.amazon.com/Thud-Rumble-Butter-Slipmat-Pair/dp/B000US7JWE), but still used another slipmat on top.
