15. Rug Grippers, Best Non-slip Washable Rug Gripper, “VACUUM TECH” - New Materials to Anti Curling Rug Pad : Keep your rug in place & Make corner flat and Easily Peel off when need

    Features:
  • ★Wondering how to keep rugs from slipping? This is a problem that troubles many people. To address it, we provide a new material which works as a rug pads gripper. This method uses VACUUM TECH design which grips all types of floors firmly and easily. Patent Pending.
  • ★Design Feature. This product can easily be glued under any rug. The side facing the floor features tiny suction pores. These pores utilize the VACUUM TECH feature in which whenever pressure is applied from the top, air escapes and creates a low-pressure region within the cups. This produces an adhesive effect, which keeps your rug in place. Does Not Work For Rugs On Carpet Floors.
  • ★Advantages. The rug anti curling gripper is less than 1/10 inch thick and inconspicuous after installing. Suction technology firmly sticks to the floor without causing marks or damage, and the gripper easily peels off the floor. It is convenient to wash, as you won’t have to separate it from your carpet for cleaning. The rug tape adds extra comfort underfoot owing to the slightly bouncy nature of suction technology.
  • ★Components. This package includes 8 pieces. Each piece is square in order to increase the surface area in contact with the floor. That leaves your kitchen, bathroom, and hallway much more secure. You can even use them outdoors to prevent slipping and flatten corners.
  • ★A 1-YEAR Money Back accompanies this product. This ensures that your rug remains securely in place, and helps to prevent accidental slips and falls. If you are not satisfied, send us a message and we will make a refund without any question.

I just got a queen Zinus "Green Tea" memory foam bed. Currently $289 shipped on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q7EPSHI/

It is pretty firm. I actually ordered a 3" gel topper because of the firmness (you sleep on top rather than sinking into it), but that proved to be too squishy (the topper leaves an imprint of your body when you roll). I have a 2" topper on another bed & imo that is the right level of squish vs. firmness: (the bed is firm to the point where my side wasn't sinking in & was kind of being compressed instead, like when you lay on thin carpet when watching TV or something)

https://www.amazon.com/Sleep-Master-Memory-Topper-Queen/dp/B00FJNQBJ2/

Also, I picked up their awesome 18" tall frame:

https://www.amazon.com/Zinus-SmartBase-Foundation-Replacement-Noise-Free/dp/B017YETH8K/

TONS of storage space underneath, easy to setup (2 pieces that screw together & fold in half, lightweight & only requires one person to assemble...literally takes more time to unbox it than put it together), no noise in use, plus with the 12" Zinus bed, it's at a good height to walk up to & fall into bed. You will need a grip sheet underneath, otherwise the bed will slide off pretty easily:

https://www.amazon.com/TRU-Lite-Bedding-Slip-Mattress/dp/B01AS3HADS

I also recommend getting a waterproof sheet (goes underneath the regular sheets), as any spills will sink directly into the foam mattress & never, ever come out:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A2G9VFM/

I got these Mellanni sheets - they are thin, but feel nice:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NLNDU00

Slightly better than the Amazon Basics sheets I have on another bed. I have a plastic bin underneath the bed for storing a spare set of sheets & waterproof sheet (both are washer/dryer-safe). Total comes up to under $600 shipped for a 12" memory foam bed, 2" gel topper, 18" metal bed frame, a non-skid pad for the frame, two sets of sheets, and two waterproof mattress sheets. I was going to get a Casper or Leesa, but those were like $800 just for the bed...I got all that for $200 less, still a pretty hefty investment, but a decent deal. Other than that, you just need some pillows & a duvet or blanket on the top.

The mattress comes vacuum-sealed in a box, so you just undo it from the packaging & let it air out for a day or two to fully decompress. The frame comes in a large but thin box (two frames folded in half with some assembly hardware). I didn't have to mooch a truck off a friend or go to a mattress store or anything...ordered it all off Amazon Prime, showed up in a couple days, put it all together by myself in minutes. Easy peasy. Would definitely order another one!

I'd suggest bringing some red into the space to tie in that counter top and the beautiful brick to make the space cohesive. You can do this with throws, accent pillows and rugs. I found your link through interior design and recommended this this couch possibly with a couple of these guys and some similar chairs. I really, really recommend keeping an eye on craigslist everyday if you're looking to save money and get an awesome look. I'm not sure where you're located but I just typed 'leather chair' into CL in my town, Chicago and got this sweet fucking chair for $100 I'd pair with a bold patterned rug similar to this or maybe this. Additionally this could work as a throw across the couch but I've also seem people put floor pads under blankets on carpeting and use them as rugs.

If you really like the industrial look you could add a minimalist industrial desk these are pretty inexpensive to make and are sexy as fuck, in fact I'm looking to build one myself and that link has plans included. I'd love to see something like that in your space wall under that tri-window in your first picture.

A rustic sideboard would look cool in that little notch behind the stairs you have.

Man, I wish I knew where you lived so I could craigslist some stuff for you. I'm cheap as fuck but love things to be stylish and have gotten so many awesome things for my own apartment by just being patient and checking craigslist a lot.

u/OliverBabish · 10 pointsr/Cooking

A perfect chef's knife is the first place to start (that's my preference, the Wusthof Ikon Classic 8", $160). Go to a kitchen supply store, or even Bed Bath & Beyond, and test drive some steel - see how comfortable it is in your hand, how balanced it feels. If you want to save money for other things, you can't go wrong with the Victorionx Fibrox 8" chef's knife, at an extremely reasonable $40. The chef's knife is an impossibly versatile tool all on its own, but if you want a smaller knife for detailed work, grab a paring knife from whatever manufacturer you choose for your chef's.

A huge, heavy cutting board ($88). For most of my life, I went with the $20 3-packs of plastic OXO or other cutting boards, ranging from small to extremely small - nothing will slow down your cooking more than an inadequately sized cutting board. Things roll off, you pile up your chopped veg and run out of space, you feel constantly crowded, and you can never carve a whole chicken or roast. Buy a piece of non-slip material (usually used for carpets) ($9), place it under the cutting board when you use it, and it will never slip or slide around - more convenient and safe.

A Thermapen. Expensive - it's $100, but it's the fastest and most accurate kitchen thermometer money can buy. A less expensive alternative would be the Lavatools Javelin at $24 - not quite as good, but a damn sight better than any other digital food thermometer you'll get your hands on. This is essential for cooking any meat, deep frying, baking - it will change your game.

An All-Clad Sauté Pan ($129). Also expensive, but an absolute essential tool for everything from sautéing to braising to deep frying. Do not go cheap with your stainless - you can do cheaper than All-Clad, but even heating, comfort, and build quality are absolutely essential.

An inexpensive but awesome nonstick set($164 for 11 pcs). Alternately, you could get a very versatile 12" TFal Professional Total Nonstick, an impossibly stickless, oven safe, dishwasher safe wunderkind.

A 12" Cast Iron Skillet ($34). These are kind of a pain to take care of, but are invaluable for searing, baking, even serving. It'll last you a lifetime if you take care of it.

u/Patternsix · 0 pointsr/trees

You need to have some sort of gripping surface on that. I get anxiety just thinking about the soap water and a very nice rig slipping from your hand and landing on the floor making a mess and a hazard. I suggest something like the stuff used to keep throw rugs from slipping on hardwood. Just big enough to go around the stem, the stuff has a big of tack so it should adhere to itself and not leave a residue.

BTW ... Love, LOve, LOVE! The ink

Edit: added a link to the mat material

These are probably those same cheap ones. We had the same problem with them sliding around but I was able to find a slip pad on Amazon for fairly cheap that works pretty well. They're still not great, but work well enough for this.

Edit:. Here's the link to the slip pad:

Sounds like you've got a pretty good solution for now, but if in the future you want to try something else, have you considered just using the non-slip rug liner by itself? I used that on my tile hallways while my pup was recovering from knee surgery and it works great, doesn't slide and provides excellent grip. It's reasonably cheap as long as you don't have to cover too much square feet. You can buy a couple large sheets and cut them to whatever proportions you need.

u/PictureofPoritrin · 3 pointsr/taekwondo

As far as the puzzle mats go, the more you use, the better it gets tied together. I'm going to put down about 40 square feet of mats (if not more, having had some time to think about the configuration), and the more you've got the better it will weigh down. Not sure if these yoga folks are dropping down 10 square feet and having trouble, but if that's the case, that's where the antislip matting comes in -- and if it's 3 or 4 tiles, it certainly is not going to stay in place. I've used this type of antislip matting before, and it grips pretty well on carpet and wood. I'm hoping to avoid having buy it -- more money, you know?

u/BuckyDog · 3 pointsr/hometheater

Under a rug (a large rug). It also improves the sound in the room.

Also, I recommend a good rug pad, as it will protect the floor (some rugs can scratch hardwood finishes) and provide a nice soft surface for the speaker wire to lay on.

I find that I use the same amount of space in Asylum that I do for Insanity, about 4' by 6' of space. It's hand weights or bands, and the pull up moves are modified if you don't feel like getting a bar. That's just my personal experience though! Best of luck with everything! If you get Amazon deliveries, I'll see if I can find what I'm talking about on Amazon for you :)

EDIT:: Found it here!

u/mystpoke · 5 pointsr/DanceDanceRevolution

Put some gripper (shelf liner) below your flux. If that doesn't work, get piece of plywood slightly larger than your flux, tape gripper around the edges, and then also put gripper on the carpet.

Find gripper roll that works best in your situation - https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Grip-Original-Available-Protection/dp/B00MEYZZXW/

Also check if the ones for the drawers works better for you instead of carpet ones - https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Grip-Original-Non-Adhesive-Cabinets/dp/B07D9T39QG/

You'll also want to like "fold over" and have like two layers of the stuff.

(I don't use any of the above brands. You can also try with dollar store.)

u/autumnwake · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I'd really like these Non-Slip Rug Pads. My house is completely hardwood floors and my rugs slide everywhere. These would make my life a lot better, and safer.

Thank you for the contest. $100 is a lot to give out!

u/UnicornToots · 3 pointsr/Parenting

If she gets a rug, definitely make sure she puts a carpet pad like this under it. Not only will it insulate against noise, but it will help with tumbling and bumping of heads. :)

But, in general, during daylight hours she should be totally 100% allowed to make whatever amount of noise she wants, within reason. But "after hours" (which is usually defined by the landlord, HOA, etc.) she has to be respectful. So, she only needs to worry during that time - usually around 9pm to 9am (which is probably around the time her kids sleep, conveniently).

u/crazybugzzzz · 2 pointsr/billiards

I've never leveled a table but that sounds annoying at best.

If it were me, I'd get a much bigger rug and cut the thing so that the feet make direct contact with the floor and so that I could remove it entirely for cleaning, or whatever. I just made this drawing. The peach is the carpet, and the black line is the slit I'm talking about, with circles cut out for the feet. If you get a good rug pad it should stay in place where you make the slit on the side..

That is what I'd do :)

EDIT: Note about the rug pad, I'd cut it the same way as the rug, but I'd install it so that the slit in the rug pad but installed 180 degrees opposite. This way the slit in the rug would be on the solid side of the pad, and the slit in the pad would be on the solid side of the rug.

EDIT 2: You could also use a flexible glue and something very thin (like fabric) under the carpet so that the slit wouldn't come apart.

u/TehHamburgler · 1 pointr/battlestations

The south shore desk is a little taller than the file cabinets and I cut a piece of this type stuff to match the surface area of the old desk and just laid the counter on top. It's pretty heavy and takes some force to move.

http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Stop-Non-Slip-Indoor-Size/dp/B003UV3FJ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1456973351&sr=8-1&keywords=non+slip+pad

and it holds pretty good.

u/Morfesto · 2 pointsr/XWingTMG

Anti slip mat! best thing I've ever played on and it's cheap too!
You need to get the ones for rugs, those ones are big enough.

Anti-slip mat
If you keep searching you can find em in black. Just get a big one and cut it down to 3'x3'. This is your cheapest and best bet. If you knock a ship the base lifts and goes back to where it was, zero slip.

u/alphabetcitygray · 2 pointsr/dogs

Somehow I think you would be better off with a regular large area rug (or several smaller ones) sitting on top of the carpet. Although, it looks like there are some pet resistant rugs too. The one in the link is like a long floor tile, you can put a few together.

Also, here's a few plastic carpet protector products:
Carpet protector
and
another one

u/DesolationRobot · 2 pointsr/HomeImprovement

This is the kind of rug pad you want for hardwood. It's mostly to make your rugs cushier, but it also helps if they have a scratchy backing like some do or if any debris gets under the rug.

u/SomeWaySomeHow · 3 pointsr/lifehacks

I think poopyboobies is talking about gliders which go beneath legs like drink coasters - they ease the movement of furniture, protecting the floor - they don't keep large furniture from moving

http://www.stayfurnituregrippers.com/ You might try grippers - but any you get in the dollar store are not likely to work well

They also sell gripping rug-pads for beneath carpets; putting an area rug/carpet beneath your bed might help - they even sell some in ultra-gripping fabric.

I have a large mousepad that everything sits on, but you might also look into some rug gripper. Another great option is to mount them to your chair with VESA mounts.

u/Pennative · 2 pointsr/Vive

I bought this and it has made my carpet a slip free tactile chaperone enhancement :) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B003UVCWMU/ref=pe_386430_121528420_TE_dp_1

u/HappyDonut · 1 pointr/knives

What LockoutTagout said.

I used to display my collection by buying those cheap little desk drawers, I'd line them with that rubber carpet pads .

Now I use spyderco's spyderpacs. I hang them up on nails using the few loops that the pacs have. Then I just place the knives inside. Nice little wall decoration. :)

u/iusedtobeinteresting · 3 pointsr/howto

These work pretty well: http://www.amazon.com/Grip-It-Non-Slip-Surface-Floors-10-Feet/dp/B003TDQQIA

My living room rug on carpet would always slip when the dogs ran around. I put that under it, and now even if I do a running start and jump on it, it won't budge.

u/pragmatizm · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

What is the underlayment made of? I personally use this works great and you can get it in rolls.

u/With_which_I_will_no · 1 pointr/woodworking

I have also used these from time to time.
http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Lock-Rug-Pad-Provides-Surfaces/dp/B0018DHBBY/ref=sr_1_5?s=furniture&ie=UTF8&qid=1347036708&sr=1-5
they also work pretty good and are inexpensive but don’t hold quite as well. They also start to break down pretty quickly.
I have also used Rocklers bench cookies and they also work but they do wear out as well.
For some reason I keep coming back to the stupid tape trick. It can be a pain to get off sometimes because it sticks almost too well.

u/eponra · 2 pointsr/hotas

Yes. There are rubber mats for carpets, which are working really good for stopping pedals from slipping around, IF the pedals are heavy enough.

Something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000209YT6/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1496574464&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=carpet+anti+slip&dpPl=1&dpID=51z9VFdfJAL&ref=plSrch

I dont use pedals any more, but i had a stone old saitek (?) one, for which i used these rubber mats, together with a bit scrap metal which i put on the pedals to make them heavier. (because these pedals were really lightweight)

u/Soupchild · 3 pointsr/Stepmania

You don't need a particular DDR mat. Get a rubber mat, like the one people put under rugs. It will be virtually impossible for your ddr pad to slip on this.

Random 1st thing that popped up on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Rug-Wrench-Washable-Non-Slip/dp/B00SPIZG7G/ref=sr_1_7?s=furniture&ie=UTF8&qid=1456890557&sr=1-7&keywords=rug+pad

I always play with anti-slip mats. I'm doing fine with slide notes on sukufesu or deresute.

u/splelling · 1 pointr/buildapc

That's the top you want to use? That fibre board & vaneer style will just sit on top of another tabletop. You could buy some non-slip mat and put it between the two.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AVJ9GBY

u/Lianad311 · 3 pointsr/Vive

I'd get any standard 4 x 6 rug that you like that fits your decor. Then you can just pick up a roll of this https://www.amazon.com/Optimum-Technologies-Gripper-Runners-25-Feet/dp/B000209YT6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1479592566&sr=8-3&keywords=rug+tape and it will never move an inch (unless of course you want to move it then it pulls right up).

u/localgyro · 4 pointsr/lifehacks

A anti-slip rug mat can help. But what really fixed it for me was a futon cover that had sewn-in straps that tied onto the futon frame -- I bought mine from the futon store.

u/bizznissphil · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

You could just use something like This

u/parametrek · 1 pointr/CampingandHiking

CCF and uninsulated inflatable is a very common combo for the budget minded. You get a lot of flexibility and robustness and it doesn't weigh too much either.

OP do you have any stuff used to keep rugs from slipping on floors? Like this for example.

u/xX_Justin_Xx · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Life depends on BGO. Sounds retarded but I need this for my house. My dog, cat, and wife will thank you.

u/Astramancer_ · 1 pointr/DIY

What's the floor that will be under the laminate?

You could probably get away with one of those "rug gripper" thingies that you put down under a rug to keep it from sliding around, but also to protect the surface of the floor.

Once the table's on it, it probably won't move unless it's particularly low friction between the laminate and the floor.

https://www.amazon.com/Epica-Super-Grip-Non-Slip-Surface-Floor/dp/B00IAVY52U/

u/PusherLoveGirl · 1 pointr/malelivingspace

You can also get little rubber mats to lay under a rug to prevent them from slipping. This was the first result I got on Google.

u/stonecats · 1 pointr/Pets

I would not use that design unless you tape it to a larger tray where the cats can apply their mouth to when licking it up, that you can then clean up later. if you use that on the floor, the area around it is going to get pretty gross. the feeder i linked to has a similar problem that i solved with a 18x26x1" fiberglass tray most restaurant supply houses sell for $10 http://www.webstaurantstore.com/18-x-26-white-display-storage-tray/962WHP1826%20%20WHITE.html then use a few feet of no skid rug pad under the tray to keep it from shifting around during feeding. http://www.amazon.com//dp/B00IAVY52U you can probably find smaller pieces shipped on ebay.

u/Moofies · 1 pointr/hoggit

There's this stuff you can get for putting under rugs to keep it from sliding. I had a few feet left of it from the last time I needed it, so I just cut a rectangle to sit under my Satiek pedals.

This is what I have (not exact brand but same stuff): Amazon link

You can get it at hardware stores or a bunch of other places. I literally just googled "non slip rug stuff" and got a bunch of hits.

u/Doowrednu · 1 pointr/3Dprinting

I use a non-slip mat under mine - like this

u/PinkOrgasmatron · 2 pointsr/drums

How about using a non-slip rubber liner under the rug itself?

u/akronymn · 1 pointr/fixit

An area rug pad might work - cut out a rectangle a little smaller than your cutting mat.

Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Epica-Super-Grip-Non-Slip-Surface-Floor/dp/B00IAVY52U/

u/Vlad_the_Homeowner · 5 pointsr/homeowners

After you get the glue out, go to Amazon and buy some of these:

https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Stop-Non-Slip-Indoor-Size/dp/B003UVCWMU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1519664013&sr=8-3&keywords=rug+underpad&dpID=515qcqWhQpL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Yes, they cost more than a couple dabs of hot glue, but you buy them once and forget about it.

u/neodiogenes · 1 pointr/yoga

Just a thought, they sell this no-slip pad you can put under rugs to keep them from sliding around on wooden floors. It'll be less awkward than a towel, and probably more reliable. I don't think you'd need more than a small amount, so you shouldn't have to pay more than $5-$10.

u/flamero · 0 pointsr/Multicopter

u/StarHunter_ · 1 pointr/hotas

Look at the hardware store for anti-skid mats for carpets on hard floors. You can cut it to size to give them more grip. Or maybe a desktop version at an office supplies store.

u/Linguist208 · 1 pointr/HelpMeFind

This sort of thing works great. That's an Amazon link, for $25 worth of the stuff, but I've seen sheets of it for a buck at Dollar Tree.

I use it to keep tablecloths in place, to stop my cutting boards from sliding around on the countertops, to keep my kitchen table from sliding around on the tile floor, all sorts of stuff.

u/Pjamma34 · 2 pointsr/yoga

I'm a 6'3 and 190. I use a 80" XXW Jade Mat, which is awesome. Only thing is that they tell you not to leave it out in sunlight, so that could be an issue if you're doing it outside.

I don't know if the Manduka Pro mats are offered in any thing other than black, but another thing to think about is that black will absorb a lot of heat from the sun and could get uncomfortably hot.

As for damaging the mat, I think your main concern would be any lateral force you put on the mat. If you're pushing the mat forward, I could definitely see those rocks causing tears. I don't think you need anything too heavy-duty, just something in between the rough patio surface and the mat. What about a rug pad? I feel like it's just enough to separate the surfaces, relatively cheap and you can cut it to size.

u/HappierShibe · 2 pointsr/Vive

>Why is that, blends better with the floor?

NOPE! Black shows lint from socks and stuff real quick, and white gets really grubby since it shows any kind of dirt or particles clearly.
Thought a chess board pattern would look nice, so I got the worst of both worlds. If I could do it over I would go with solid tan.

>people complained they separated a lot as well.

People are probably being stupid and putting them directly on the floor. You should put a Rugpad underneath the mat, No flooring is going to stay put otherwise unless it runs wall to wall. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TDQQIA/
