For some reason this didn't show up the first time I posted, so sorry if it shows up twice :-)

1

2 (Snow is kind of reminiscent of rain)

3 (food related because I would serve hot meals on it; unusual because it is multifunctional)

4 is for my two year old daughter because she has the normal version, but loves it so much (probably her favorite thing) that it is now in three pieces with the cover off and losing pages every day, but this one has a carry handle and is smaller for toddlers and easier to carry around.

5 You need to read it because I've been told I need to read it.

6

7 because Catwoman

8 The picture of beauty! :-)

9 Because it's a classic. . . it's sweet, has adventure, and teamwork. . . dinosaurs.

10 because it's a sword that I will always have with me because it's a keychain

11 I'm on my 4th week of P90x, and I hate yoga day because I can't do all the moves, so I don't have the desire to do it, but this would help on moves where I am not as flexible.

12 I want these so I can make necklaces with them.

13 Because it has a swingset and a playhouse and my daughter (and when he's older, my son too) would love this, and I love them very much. So seeing them happy makes me happy :-).

14

15 seeds are much smaller than golfballs

16 Nothing smells as good as a freshly bathed baby :-)

17

18 I could practice my letters and spelling (as long as each letter was only used once) :-)

19 My current obsession is being a mom! All of my other obsessions are geeky stuff, so this is perfect!

20 I know this really needs no explanation as to why it is so grand and awe-inspiring, but here are 10 good reasons. . . First of all, it's huge because it's a rug. Second of all, it is from one of the greatest movies of all time, Star Wars Episode V. Third, it looks sooooo soft (it's so fluffy, I'm going to die). Fourth, how many people do you know who have this in their home? Fifth, it has claws. Sixth, it's smiling. Seventh, you could hide under it during a home invasion. Eighth, you could cover up with it if your power went out in a snowstorm. Ninth, (since you love cats) I bet cats love laying on a wampa rug. Finally tenth, it would be the perfect addition to this boy's nursery (I've shown this picture a lot on RAoA, but I can't help it. He's too cute!)

Bonus Item 1 will be PMd to you when I found out your real name, not if but when :-)

Bonus Item 2 Looks yummy!

fear cuts deeper than swords

This was super fun by the way! Thanks!

I would go more neutral, beige, brown. Size looks like you need bigger thinking 8 x 10. Measure and use the 3D app. I think 5 x 7 might be too small. The 3D thing helps give you an idea. From what I’m seeing is the brown couch, some red orange, some red. If you throw that into a rug it could get overly busy unless you find something you love. It needs to be big enough. Safavieh Hudson Shag Collection SGH280A Ivory and Grey Moroccan Ogee Plush Area Rug (8' x 10') https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PP4RJ6E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_zvJVDb8XCJHS4 ok so here’s what to think about. What length of rug do you want? Plush, Berber, thin and hand woven? How do you clean it? This matters because longer may not let a room a work. Kids? Stains? Pets? I like shag but didn’t buy shag. Why? I’ve got a cat that rarely gets sick. Cleaning that out of shag sounded horrible. Think about stains. So if you tend to spill things and stain things don’t go really light. The lightest I go is ivory. Really Dark can make the room look smaller but if your choice is dark or stains go dark. Amazon and Wayfair (they seem a bit higher than amazon) have 3D view or virtual view. Use that to at least see how rugs look in the room. It gives you an idea especially if you’re going out of your comfort zone. Something like this is lower pile. A cool colored rug would be tricky. I would stay warm. If you change colors often don’t pick a rug to match the room just go neutral. Sculpted rugs have designs cut into the carpet. Large sculpted usually look nice, smaller not so much. Certain sculpted look tacky. In general I would say yes to something like this. While there may be some guides as far as what to avoid like a tiny rug. It needs to be functional, your style (picking something that you don’t hate is different than you love, you’re spending good cash get you love), something you can vacuum. It’s going to be big enough taking it outside and shaking it is insane. Some prefer safe. Safe would be lighter brown or neutral like the following.

Just some links and suggestions to help you narrow it down. If you buy non prime from amazon you can message them to clarify if they charge return shipping if it doesn’t work for you. At 150 and over price tags some will offer it if you ask.

Bunnies don't have pads on their feet like cats or dogs--only fluff down there on bunny paws! so there's no way for them to have any traction. They slip and slide, and it's extremely uncomfortable for them. Sometimes, they won't enter certain areas of your house (bedrooms, but also up onto furniture or even into their litterbox) if their only way to get there is through hardwood or tile floor. If there's not an adequate amount of space to run on that is carpeted, you won't ever see your bunny binky, either! And every bunny deserves to run and binky at their leisure because it's such a sign of true happiness.

This kind of rug is not only cheap but made of a texture that bunnies love to dig and claw it. It's kind of lack a scratching post for them! I have these laid out all over the area where my bunnies play, which also protects the carpet! :)

You should consider getting him a friend, too, because they are very social animals and their lives are drastically improved with a friend. Read about bonded pairs and all the sweet bunny love that comes with it!

And check out /r/rabbits for so much bunny love from house rabbits!

Our nursery is finally done at 37 weeks! This has easily become my favorite room in our house. It is also our cat’s favorite room (cat tax included in the pictures above). She thinks we redecorated it for her - she loves the soft rug, the play-mat with dangling toys for her to play with, and hiding spots under the chair and crib. I originally wanted to go light on any theme, but I fell in love with the mural. We travel a fair amount and got married at a Zoo, so the nursery is very fitting. This was our first time putting up wallpaper and we didn’t do the best job, so don’t look too closely at the seams. The large window in the room has significant rotting and mold at the bottom, and after a 4 month wait for a new custom wood window, it should be replaced in the next week (hopefully before the baby is born).

Top 5 items:

Crib - Babyletto Hudson 3-in-1 Convertible Crib, Grey

Rug - Safavieh Hudson Shag Collection, 9’ x 12’, Ivory/Grey

Dresser – Baby Relax Georgia Campaign Dresser – Blue

Play Mat – The Play Gym by Lovevery

We also love the handmade quilt and afghan made by our moms. For more info about our nursery.

I'd suggest bringing some red into the space to tie in that counter top and the beautiful brick to make the space cohesive. You can do this with throws, accent pillows and rugs. I found your link through interior design and recommended this this couch possibly with a couple of these guys and some similar chairs. I really, really recommend keeping an eye on craigslist everyday if you're looking to save money and get an awesome look. I'm not sure where you're located but I just typed 'leather chair' into CL in my town, Chicago and got this sweet fucking chair for $100 I'd pair with a bold patterned rug similar to this or maybe this. Additionally this could work as a throw across the couch but I've also seem people put floor pads under blankets on carpeting and use them as rugs.

If you really like the industrial look you could add a minimalist industrial desk these are pretty inexpensive to make and are sexy as fuck, in fact I'm looking to build one myself and that link has plans included. I'd love to see something like that in your space wall under that tri-window in your first picture.

A rustic sideboard would look cool in that little notch behind the stairs you have.

Man, I wish I knew where you lived so I could craigslist some stuff for you. I'm cheap as fuck but love things to be stylish and have gotten so many awesome things for my own apartment by just being patient and checking craigslist a lot.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

It's always fun making a house a home.

A rug. I like this one, it has a nice mix of autumn colours which will make your living room feel warm and welcoming, and keeps the orange colour whilst introducing browns and reds.

A lamp Personally I think this twin pack of value lamps is fantastic value. I've had them myself, and they work with any decor, and give out a decent amount of light, as well as being height adjustable.

Pictures for the wall is a little bit of a cheat, but works out well if you're on a budget, and costs almost nothing to change if you get bored of the look. You could also try framing wallpaper samples. Most DIY stores will let you take numerous free samples.

Cushions I personally like ethnic style cushions, and think they're a great way to make unusual colours such as orange really work with a room. In fact, you may want to consider using a wall hanging with some non-slip backing instead of a rug for a good match - much more lightweight, and of course, comes with the advantage of being light and easy to take with you when the year is up.

u/tacobellbreakfast69 · 3 pointsr/malelivingspace

Hi! My best recommendation is to move the furniture around! You could try your bed in the back right corner where your keyboard is, or moving everything clockwise. Moving the furniture you have can sometimes make a room feel like a whole new space.

I would also recommend a rug for a pop of color. I recommend this one off amazon because it is relatively large/cheap, soft, and comes in a variety of colors. Also, string lights or a lamp are fun and can make your room look nice at night.

You could also organize your desk and fill up some of your wall space with art, posters, or a bunch of small photos that you organize on your wall.

Overall, your room looks like a pretty nice starting point. It's important to organize it in a way that functions well and makes you happy :)

u/anyquestions · 3 pointsr/malelivingspace

The attached album is the space I have to work with. All the erratic decorating is from the previous tenant and will be out by the time we move in, and I'd love some suggestions on what to do with the place. Renting for $1300/mo in South Florida in case you're curious.

My girlfriend and I are moving into our second place. Our current place is decorated pretty sparsely as we'd both just moved to the area, but having saved up for two years we're basically ready to start over again.

For the living room, the only thing we're bound to is this coffee table which we have and like. We were thinking of one or two of these matching end tables as well. Area rug is obviously a must as the apartment has the signature cheapest-beige-carpet-I-could-find. My girlfriend's in love with this rug but I'm unsure if the traces of gray and black there would go with the beige carpet and espresso furniture we'd have. Would a gray or black couch help that? We'll also definitely be putting curtains up that'll match whatever rug we go with.

For the bedroom, we have a Love Is Art painting with these colors so we were thinking of going with a deep purple color scheme with white/gray accents. We have a few IKEA Hemnes dresser sets in the black-brown finish. I'm thinking solid deep purple rug, a patterned white/purple duvet cover and curtains to match.

Thoughts? Suggestions? With a modest budget, what would you do with the space? Thanks in advance. I consider myself okay at decorating, but I'd hate to get all the pieces together only to find out I'm an idiot.

u/LoomaHome · 1 pointr/malelivingspace

Total self-promotion here, but I did create a guide about how to decorate in the Scandinavian style, if that appeals to you. I did it from the angle of decorating bedrooms, but the advice applies to any room, honestly.

What's your budget?

At the minimum, you'll need:

- A rug.

- Some curtains (get a nice, thick linen fabric, not the cheap-o fabrics. It'll make a huge difference).

- Pillows for the couch. (Bonus if you can put another, different but complementary, pillow on the chair, too. This would work well with the other pillows I linked.)

- A small potted plant for the coffee table.

- A floor lamp for that back corner.

- Some cool artwork to frame above your couch.

Good luck! :)

I printed a shit ton of maps out on my own printer and taped them together. It was a nightmare but it worked.

If you don't mind spending the money tossing a grid on top of a map together on a single file and the heading to your local print shop is your best bet. I was fortunate enough to have an architect friend print out 2 maps in black/white for 2 of the encounters (also in LMOP).

TBH the best thing ever has been using a dry-erase map with a premade grid. Now I'm able to draw basic designs out on the fly.

The ones I got are HERE

Definitely a worthwhile investment and the printed texture keeps it from being a boring white dry-erase.

u/JaymieZ · 1 pointr/DesignMyRoom

You actually have a right setup of the sofa and the tv. Just need a little make over.

  1. For the sofa, why not add some cover? to add an accent like this one.
  2. Put some rugs, a white or grey rug would be great just like this.
  3. The bookshelf, you can put it in the corner. (I can't actually see what's on the other side of the photo so I can't suggest moving it) Then paint it white to lessen darkness of the space, put some succulent plants, books and some small frames and arrange it like this.
  4. Remove the blue and black storage. (Is that a storage?) you can put them away or in your kitchen.
  5. Then the wall will leave blank, you can hang some wall art on it. Wall Art of your choice or what you love (characters, nature, flowers) I've found some elegant wall arts here.
  6. The room is dark, I think you need to add some light above the tv and I suggest adding a wallpaper to add some accent coz the room is kinda bald and dark. You can get your idea here.

I hope it helps you. ;) It's just my suggestion by the way. \^_\^
u/VeganMinecraft · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

99 cents over, hope that's not an issue. I indeed love Prime. I'm not on the student I just leech off my mom's. Obviously not grown up yet LOL

I want it because it's super colorful, recycled, and it reminds me of one of my floormates who had something like it in his room. He was always the weird jokester of the hall, making fun of everyone, stealing their food...literally he took my roommates sour patches from out of her bin...he didn't even know her!, apparently drug dealer in high school, and found empty beer cans in the ceiling of his dorm. He was actually though very protective and of his "nerdy" roommate and would bring out a blanket for him when he found him sleeping in the study room couches, and whenever we were looking on he told us all to shoo and he called us stupid turds or something when we wanted to play harmless jokes on the poor guy. It was kinda heartwarming LOOOL we all miss him since he transferred :/

Butts are super funny

u/acornedbeefhash · 11 pointsr/DesignMyRoom

Love what you’ve done with the place! Love the mirror above the fire place. I’d recommend this rug from amazon. The soft geometric pattern isn’t too harsh or too floral and “girly”. I find it to strike the perfect neutral.

A soft off white or grey rug to match the accent chair would be perfect.

Also a nice deep wood rectangular coffee table would looks great to tie in the wood tones of the table.

u/omgitsjustturtles · 3 pointsr/islam

Not exactly "mini", but I bought this travel one because I could, well, travel with it. Folds up into a pouch, fits into a pocket. Comes with a direction finder. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J377EL8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Total size when unfolded is 24x38 inches. It's not soft, it's very thin and more like a small tarp, but I didn't expect much for something to carry with me. Free shipping with Prime. I'm not sure about without, but I'm happy to buy and ship to you as a gift if it is much more than you're willing to spend. I have Prime, so no issue here :) Hope this helps.

u/CarrieStone2 · 1 pointr/malelivingspace

you’ve started a pretty set-up, I like the colors, just for suggestions, it seems that you need to add some decors, you might want to add some lamp, a rug like this one and some cool wall art like a multi-panel one like here, it’s best if you hang your favorite stuff

u/Patternsix · 0 pointsr/trees

You need to have some sort of gripping surface on that. I get anxiety just thinking about the soap water and a very nice rig slipping from your hand and landing on the floor making a mess and a hazard. I suggest something like the stuff used to keep throw rugs from slipping on hardwood. Just big enough to go around the stem, the stuff has a big of tack so it should adhere to itself and not leave a residue.

BTW ... Love, LOve, LOVE! The ink

Edit: added a link to the mat material
Something like this Mat

u/Rainbow_Toilet · 4 pointsr/malelivingspace

What your room is missing is some color.

I love the painting but that seems to be the only place where you took a chance to bring color or personality into the room.

The two easiest changes would be to your curtains and rug. I would definitely look to change the rug into something that can compliment the painting. Maybe something like this?

u/saibog38 · 2 pointsr/dogs

Sounds like you've got a pretty good solution for now, but if in the future you want to try something else, have you considered just using the non-slip rug liner by itself? I used that on my tile hallways while my pup was recovering from knee surgery and it works great, doesn't slide and provides excellent grip. It's reasonably cheap as long as you don't have to cover too much square feet. You can buy a couple large sheets and cut them to whatever proportions you need.

u/AngelSlices · 2 pointsr/femalelivingspace

Thank you! This is the rug that I got! I purchased it from amazon because it was a bit cheaper there at the time I bought it (and also 2-day shipping) but it is also available here at wayfair.com! I got the 7 feet 10 inches x 10 feet size. It's super plush feeling!

And yes my bed is a queen size. I believe the dimensions of my whole room are 16 feet long x 10 foot 1 inch wide.

u/adrienev3 · 3 pointsr/DesignMyRoom

I bought this rug about a week ago. I love it. Its very soft and in-expensive! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XCF7QFR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I think the Grey or Deep pink would look great and would be amazing for throwing different colors in there!

u/PictureofPoritrin · 3 pointsr/taekwondo

As far as the puzzle mats go, the more you use, the better it gets tied together. I'm going to put down about 40 square feet of mats (if not more, having had some time to think about the configuration), and the more you've got the better it will weigh down. Not sure if these yoga folks are dropping down 10 square feet and having trouble, but if that's the case, that's where the antislip matting comes in -- and if it's 3 or 4 tiles, it certainly is not going to stay in place. I've used this type of antislip matting before, and it grips pretty well on carpet and wood. I'm hoping to avoid having buy it -- more money, you know?

u/90Days_Lex · 1 pointr/90daysgoal

I find that I use the same amount of space in Asylum that I do for Insanity, about 4' by 6' of space. It's hand weights or bands, and the pull up moves are modified if you don't feel like getting a bar. That's just my personal experience though! Best of luck with everything! If you get Amazon deliveries, I'll see if I can find what I'm talking about on Amazon for you :)

EDIT:: Found it here!

u/DekKato · 8 pointsr/DMToolkit

I have a half dozen or so boxes of tiles, as well as a bunch of the Paizo map packs. They're one of my primary map tools.

So first off, I got one of these collections of basic terrain mats. They work with the corresponding tileset really well. I use the mat as the base, then put tiles on top for detail. Anything that I don't have a mini or tile for I just draw onto the mat.

I usually set them up before the game, take a picture, then set them aside to quickly assemble when my players get to the location. If they already know whereabouts they're going, I'll leave it set up because it doesn't really give anything away like a basic town setup. I've learned the tiles pretty well at this point so I can quickly put stuff together at this point if they take a sudden left turn.

And yes, I do actually like it a lot! It looks good on my wood floors and with my furniture. It's better quality than you would think for such a low price, TBH.

Edit to add- when I bought it, it was $86. Seems to have gone up in price. Maybe it will be on sale soon? Either way, its not a bad price for a rug.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to write all this out. Proved to be very helpful. Ended up going with this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VSQZ2BK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_13XVDb9761FHB

Excited to see how it looks! Thanks so much!

u/gcThrizzle · 2 pointsr/DMAcademy

Be careful when printing these maps to have the scale correct. If the map says 1 square = 5ft sq, then you want each square to be 1 inch on each side. This will make the maps "feel" the right size.I do this measuring in Gimp to be sure. /u/sanderdc also makes a great point about the squares being 10ft sq !

You can also just buy some gaming paper or a wet/dry erase battle mat and draw it out yourself. Sometimes, that's pretty fun, and you can draw new parts as you go. This simulates the "fog of war" effect. It also requires far less preparation because you're just live copying the map as you go.

For decorating I love how colorful it is!

Easiest solution:

  1. Buy this.

  2. Buy dry-erase markers (or washable markers, depending on your preference).

  3. Use the markers to draw terrain and walls as needed.

  4. Anything extra you have is icing on the cake. Toys, miniatures, printed custom maps, pathfinder flip-mats... just slowly build your collection for the rest of your DMing career, great side hobby.

The south shore desk is a little taller than the file cabinets and I cut a piece of this type stuff to match the surface area of the old desk and just laid the counter on top. It's pretty heavy and takes some force to move.

and it holds pretty good.

Anti slip mat! best thing I've ever played on and it's cheap too!
You need to get the ones for rugs, those ones are big enough.

Anti-slip mat
If you keep searching you can find em in black. Just get a big one and cut it down to 3'x3'. This is your cheapest and best bet. If you knock a ship the base lifts and goes back to where it was, zero slip.

u/TroubledViking · 1 pointr/DnD

I use the Pathfinder Play-Mats, just the generic brown mat worked fine for me and it's wet/dry/permanent erase too. They also have themed maps (forest, hills, ship, tavern, etc) if that interests you but the basic brown/grey mat works great. This one is probably the most versatile for ~$20.

u/historianLA · 1 pointr/DnD

I really like this map made for pathfinder. This pack has two-double sided maps (stone, grass, water, and dirt). I find it very versatile and works great with wet erase markers. They make other maps with basic buildings/rooms on them too!

u/SomeWaySomeHow · 3 pointsr/lifehacks

I think poopyboobies is talking about gliders which go beneath legs like drink coasters - they ease the movement of furniture, protecting the floor - they don't keep large furniture from moving

http://www.stayfurnituregrippers.com/ You might try grippers - but any you get in the dollar store are not likely to work well

They also sell gripping rug-pads for beneath carpets; putting an area rug/carpet beneath your bed might help - they even sell some in ultra-gripping fabric.

I have a large mousepad that everything sits on, but you might also look into some rug gripper. Another great option is to mount them to your chair with VESA mounts.

u/OverlySexualCellist · 1 pointr/DnD

Does it need to be a board/inflexible? I use these and am also planning to get this when funds allow it. They're great because they're portable and work with dry and wet erase pens (chessex mat is only wet erase I believe).

u/bntyhntrqueen · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

You NEED the Wampa throw rug. Like, for serious. You have to have it.

What I would really really like is a Bodhi Rook Funko Pop, but they don't have one! Like, really? WHYYYYYY? I have all the others, but he doesn't exist. I have lots of Star Wars stuff on my lists and some other fun stuff, too. :)

May the force be with you!

u/Ryngard · 1 pointr/DnD

I've not found much luck... we learned that lesson too so no red pens. :)

I changed to the flipmat... it was SteelSquire when I got them oh... 12 years ago?... but I think it's Paizo now. They have multiple sizes, they are double sided (hex and squares) and fold to the side of a sheet of paper. You can use dry erase, wet erase, or permanent marker and it all cleans up.

Yeah here is an example. Its 24" x 30" for $15 and you can get ones MUCH larger. And they now have terrain ones and buildings and shit. It's neat.

https://www.amazon.com/Paizo-Publishng-Inc-Pathfinder-Flip-Mat/dp/1601255381/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1467311605&sr=1-1&keywords=Flip+mat

(Paizo has a BUNCh but I'm not finding the larger one... I KNOW it used to exist but I guess not anymore unless I just can't find it. We've been using the 24"x30" for a year now and I've never had any issues (I have two so I can easily plunk another up there.)

This is cool though: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1601255578/ref=s9_simh_gw_g21_i2_r?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=S2Q2HN9TWR10MXKXNG7C&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=6aad23bd-3035-4a40-b691-0eefb1a18396&pf_rd_i=desktop

I got a rug similar to this one off of Amazon. I think the yellow and the white would look great in the room. The grey ties it back in to the rest of the room. Might be a little too loud for your tastes however.

These work pretty well: http://www.amazon.com/Grip-It-Non-Slip-Surface-Floors-10-Feet/dp/B003TDQQIA

My living room rug on carpet would always slip when the dogs ran around. I put that under it, and now even if I do a running start and jump on it, it won't budge.

Yes. There are rubber mats for carpets, which are working really good for stopping pedals from slipping around, IF the pedals are heavy enough.

Something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000209YT6/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1496574464&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=carpet+anti+slip&dpPl=1&dpID=51z9VFdfJAL&ref=plSrch

I dont use pedals any more, but i had a stone old saitek (?) one, for which i used these rubber mats, together with a bit scrap metal which i put on the pedals to make them heavier. (because these pedals were really lightweight)

u/UnicornToots · 1 pointr/beyondthebump

You can just use the same anti-slip pads that go under rugs to prevent the tiles from sliding around, like this. Very easy.

u/mrjwojcik · 2 pointsr/DnD

Hi, dm here - the battlemat is from the standard paizo flipmatset I think:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1601255578/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_2YKDCbD9CE4MJ

This set is really useful as it has green-grass, water, dungeon and market-square on it.

u/Hunyock · 1 pointr/DnD

My solution?
http://www.amazon.com/Pathfinder-Flip-Mat-Basic/dp/1601255381/

Or even better, the 2-pack http://www.amazon.com/Pathfinder-Flip-Mat-Basic-Terrain-Multi-Pack/dp/1601255578/

I can't believe these aren't more popular. I love mine - dry erase is so much easier and faster than wet erase!

u/Lianad311 · 3 pointsr/Vive

I'd get any standard 4 x 6 rug that you like that fits your decor. Then you can just pick up a roll of this https://www.amazon.com/Optimum-Technologies-Gripper-Runners-25-Feet/dp/B000209YT6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1479592566&sr=8-3&keywords=rug+tape and it will never move an inch (unless of course you want to move it then it pulls right up).

CCF and uninsulated inflatable is a very common combo for the budget minded. You get a lot of flexibility and robustness and it doesn't weigh too much either.

OP do you have any stuff used to keep rugs from slipping on floors? Like this for example.

I bought one of these at gencon, while practical the fold areas distract. Nice and compact if you don't have a lot of space, but for an everyday mapping tool, spend a few dollars more for a chessex mat(http://www.amazon.com/Role-Playing-Reversible-Vinyl-Gaming/dp/B00OCYO8XK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1451556892&sr=8-3&keywords=chessex+gaming+mat) or the Piazo ones http://www.amazon.com/Pathfinder-Flip-Mat-Basic-Terrain-Multi-Pack/dp/1601255578/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1451556939&sr=8-2&keywords=paizo

What's the floor that will be under the laminate?

You could probably get away with one of those "rug gripper" thingies that you put down under a rug to keep it from sliding around, but also to protect the surface of the floor.

Once the table's on it, it probably won't move unless it's particularly low friction between the laminate and the floor.

You can also get little rubber mats to lay under a rug to prevent them from slipping. This was the first result I got on Google.

u/Moofies · 1 pointr/hoggit

There's this stuff you can get for putting under rugs to keep it from sliding. I had a few feet left of it from the last time I needed it, so I just cut a rectangle to sit under my Satiek pedals.

This is what I have (not exact brand but same stuff): Amazon link

You can get it at hardware stores or a bunch of other places. I literally just googled "non slip rug stuff" and got a bunch of hits.

u/stonecats · 1 pointr/Pets

I would not use that design unless you tape it to a larger tray where the cats can apply their mouth to when licking it up, that you can then clean up later. if you use that on the floor, the area around it is going to get pretty gross. the feeder i linked to has a similar problem that i solved with a 18x26x1" fiberglass tray most restaurant supply houses sell for $10 http://www.webstaurantstore.com/18-x-26-white-display-storage-tray/962WHP1826%20%20WHITE.html then use a few feet of no skid rug pad under the tray to keep it from shifting around during feeding. http://www.amazon.com//dp/B00IAVY52U you can probably find smaller pieces shipped on ebay.

u/RuruTutu · 1 pointr/highrollersdnd

I believe this is the kind of thing he uses. I think he mentioned it being the pathfinder mats.

An area rug pad might work - cut out a rectangle a little smaller than your cutting mat.

After you get the glue out, go to Amazon and buy some of these:

https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Stop-Non-Slip-Indoor-Size/dp/B003UVCWMU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1519664013&sr=8-3&keywords=rug+underpad&dpID=515qcqWhQpL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Yes, they cost more than a couple dabs of hot glue, but you buy them once and forget about it.

u/neodiogenes · 1 pointr/yoga

Just a thought, they sell this no-slip pad you can put under rugs to keep them from sliding around on wooden floors. It'll be less awkward than a towel, and probably more reliable. I don't think you'd need more than a small amount, so you shouldn't have to pay more than $5-$10.

u/1bdkty · 1 pointr/DnD

You can definitely but I find its a bit harder and can lead to more arguments. For example, if everyone is on a grid map you can see where walls are, how far away from mobs you are, etc. If you use imagination someone will inevitable say "I thought I was behind the wall, how did they hit me" or "i wouldn't have run forward if I knew all the mobs were that close" or whatever.

The cheapest way to do maps is to get a reusable grid and some dry erase markers. It takes time to draw out the maps but its reusable and also very flexible. This pack uses square grids and has 4 different terrains (grassland, street, stone floor, and water) http://amzn.com/1601255578

u/inmatarian · 2 pointsr/rpg

Oh! I see, I misinterpreted what you were looking for.

Since this is more battle-mats than dungeon maps, the generic solution that everyone does is a Chessex wet-erase Mat, but you could also try Paizo dry/wet erase flip mats. If you're not pleased with the $20 range and want even cheaper, Gaming Paper for $4, or Graph Paper Notebook for $6.

u/Linguist208 · 1 pointr/HelpMeFind

This sort of thing works great. That's an Amazon link, for $25 worth of the stuff, but I've seen sheets of it for a buck at Dollar Tree.

I use it to keep tablecloths in place, to stop my cutting boards from sliding around on the countertops, to keep my kitchen table from sliding around on the tile floor, all sorts of stuff.

u/TheNonAbsolute · 2 pointsr/warhammerfantasyrpg

I actually use Paizo Flip-Mats and draw on them with Dry-erase Markers, because that is most suited to my Style of Prep and running Games.

I also use some of the Minis I have from other Games to mark the Heroes and Villains if possible, but that is not always the case. LotR Moria Orks work as Goblins, and Poxwalkers work as Zombies, but a Rivertroll, or a Halfling Scholar? No Chance portraying that with what I have here.

What I do in those Cases is just use a Die to mark the Position and Wounds of a Monster or Character, I have enough Dice in enough Colors to make that work pretty well.

Edit: me no spell gud

u/Pjamma34 · 2 pointsr/yoga

I'm a 6'3 and 190. I use a 80" XXW Jade Mat, which is awesome. Only thing is that they tell you not to leave it out in sunlight, so that could be an issue if you're doing it outside.

I don't know if the Manduka Pro mats are offered in any thing other than black, but another thing to think about is that black will absorb a lot of heat from the sun and could get uncomfortably hot.

As for damaging the mat, I think your main concern would be any lateral force you put on the mat. If you're pushing the mat forward, I could definitely see those rocks causing tears. I don't think you need anything too heavy-duty, just something in between the rough patio surface and the mat. What about a rug pad? I feel like it's just enough to separate the surfaces, relatively cheap and you can cut it to size.

u/HappierShibe · 2 pointsr/Vive

>Why is that, blends better with the floor?

NOPE! Black shows lint from socks and stuff real quick, and white gets really grubby since it shows any kind of dirt or particles clearly.
Thought a chess board pattern would look nice, so I got the worst of both worlds. If I could do it over I would go with solid tan.

>people complained they separated a lot as well.

People are probably being stupid and putting them directly on the floor. You should put a Rugpad underneath the mat, No flooring is going to stay put otherwise unless it runs wall to wall. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TDQQIA/
