Top Reddit comments about Arthritis Gloves:

u/CanDoGal · 2 pointsr/pokemongo

I live in northern New England, USA. It's cold here, too. I'm 47, and getting arthritis in my hands quite young. I've always just ignored it, but this winter, maybe because I've been out so much playing Pokemon Go, my hands have been aching a lot. I just bought these gloves: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0014WXCYY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 They came today, and I've been wearing them a few hours. My aches are all gone, and my hands have been pleasantly toasty. (I've just been inside, though.) I don't know if they'd work for Raynaud's, but I was planning to wear them under my gloves/mittens. And yes, definitely get a stylus! I use one with replaceable tips and it's been great. Maybe with a stylus + good gloves + something like my arthritis gloves you'll be able to play like you want? Gloves good enough to hike or ski in should work...

u/Justheretotype · 4 pointsr/Dermatillomania

Wear arthritis gloves. They will help your hands feel better as a major plus.

https://www.amazon.com/Compression-Arthritis-Gloves-Original-Foundation/dp/B0014WXCYY

I have arthritis symptoms and pick. The gloves help me with both. They make my hands feel better and provide enough sensory stimulus that I can easily focus on that sensation as a soothing self calming tool. And they make my hands feel good enough that it's a general positive sensation which helps alot with the urge to pick. They keep my hands warm too.

These one don't inhibit my movement, I'm a pharmacy technician and use my hands constantly with a lot of typing and fine movements.

u/TeaPoweredMath · 1 pointr/ArtistLounge

I do a lot of writing/typing/etc. and have wrist problems. I have found that wearing wrist braces at night (as well as during activities sometimes) helps. You can write/draw with the Mueller ones somebody else mentioned, or the Futuro brand ones. It'll be a bit awkward but doable IMHO.

Another thing I've used in the past is compression gloves; they help more with my hand pain issues, but it's worth a shot if your hands bug you too. Much less movement interference, more help for the joints at the base of your fingers if those are an issue, but they won't provide much support for your wrist. (I think I have these.)

Good luck, if you find anything else that works or other good resources, I'm still looking for groups who field questions like this.

(edit for link formatting, ugh)

u/SneakiePuffins · 10 pointsr/pcgaming

Maybe you could look into getting some sort of glove? Breathable so you don’t sweat extra, but also has fingertip grips so you don’t fat finger any keys. I’ll search it on amazon and see if I can find anything.

Edit: Something like these might help. These are compression gloves for wrist pain/strain but you may enjoy that for long gaming sessions.

  • Lightweight, breathable cotton-spandex material will allow you to wear the gloves comfortably all day long. Temperature regulating - retains heat to soothe hands and knuckles without becoming stuffy.*
u/ThatGhoulAva · 2 pointsr/ChronicPain

I LOVE mine ( I'm wearing them now, actually! ) I had to try a few pairs, and what i found worked for me were these:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XWWN4D3/ref=cm_sw_r_em_taa_7b1XCbP7PG6VN ( you can get them in pink, too, if you like. I spill too much stuff for that :P)

I tend to wear them during the day for activities- I really like that they go over all my knuckles. I also bought a pair of Vive gloves - those are extremely light compression, almost like a tshirt, for when I dont hurt as much but just want the support. They have really helped the swelling and the pain when doing simple things like cleaning, typing....I'd say cooking but I guilted my husband into that awhile ago.

Also, I don't know if any Fibro/CPS people have this same issue with your arms unable to get warm, but you sweat your butt off if you put on a long sleeve shirt - I certainly do. I bought a bunch of those UV arm sleeves that hook over the thumb - they work great! No more wrapping blankets around my arm!

u/ConnieC60 · 2 pointsr/rheumatoidarthritis

I got these ones from amazon UK. They’re super comfy and the compression actually feels really nice. They’re definitely better than some of the more expensive gloves I tried.

Edit - these look closest to what I’ve got and are available on the US website:

https://www.amazon.com/Compression-Arthritis-Arthritic-Rheumatoid-Osteoarthritis/dp/B000N4G8IQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=rheumatoid+arthritis+gloves&qid=1557264985&s=gateway&sr=8-5

u/joshannon · 2 pointsr/Thritis

I bought these and they're a big help. The copper ribbing did come off fairly quickly but the compression goes a long way.

Best of luck to you, my friend.

Edit: I do also sometimes use medical tape on the joints closest to my nails, if they're hurting.

u/MattTheGeek · 1 pointr/Guitar

I agree with everybody telling you to go to the doctor, but in the short term, compression gloves have given me some relief from my arthritic symptoms. I use these. And, bonus you get to wear "cool" fingerless gloves!

u/ShenziSixaxis · 1 pointr/Thritis

Plaquenil is usually tried before biologics and metho, so definitely give it a try if you've already been on metho. Lots of people report good results with it. It gave me the shits something fierce, though, so keep an eye on your stomach if you get put on it. Besides it, there are other disease altering drugs they may try you on; IDK what since your goal is to get pregnant soon and I've always done everything I can to avoid that so I never had to check anything on that, lol. You could also ask about taking a steroid or anti-inflammatory alongside this.

Besides drugs, get yourself some compression gloves. You might not be able to wear them at work, but if you can wear them during your down time, they'll probably help. I have a pair very similar to this pair and they're amazing.

u/kaisawheel · 2 pointsr/Thritis

I use these gloves. I really love them. I wear them whenever I do anything that requires a lot of fine motor skills, like coloring or drawing or writing for extended periods of time. They are, by far, the most comfortable option for typing that I have found. I have also begun wearing them while I sleep and I've noticed a reductoin in day to day aching since starting that routine.

u/alienbanter · 2 pointsr/FigureSkating

Is this the kind of thing you mean? I'm not really familiar with wrist guards specifically meant for skating, but this kind of thing is what I used playing soccer for a while after I hurt my wrist as a teenager. It fit pretty well under gloves.

u/TheTatteredRemnant · 2 pointsr/Dermatophagia

These are really good. Thin and comfortable and they cover your hands! 👍

u/bikerbrenda · 3 pointsr/scleroderma

I have scleroderma, reynaud, and lupus. I wear fingerless gloves every day. I can still function and work, but my hands stay warm and compressed. You can find all the colors now!

u/MrTwoToedSloth · 3 pointsr/Fibromyalgia

Yeah, mine are a mess in the morning. I sleep in compression gloves to help with it. I also use these when I'm at the computer. I've dismissed it for the last 10 years because I thought I was too young to have RA but I think it's probably time to bring it up at my next visit. Hoping it's just fibro being fibro.

u/radarlock · 1 pointr/summonerschool

I have wrist pain only with lol, not CS:GO(dpi in csgo are a lot less than i use in lol). I tried to gradually decrease the dpi in lol and change to jungle, the lane constant click-click increase my pain. I tried gloves like this https://www.amazon.com/Hand-Pain-Relief-Gloves-Osteoarthritis/dp/B019SVSYJA and they help me to minimise the pain.

u/yahumno · 10 pointsr/rheumatoid

I have the IMAK ones and I like them since they look a little less "medical" looking. I find that they help

https://www.amazon.com/Compression-Arthritis-Arthritic-Rheumatoid-Osteoarthritis/dp/B000N4G8IQ

u/MonkeysOnMyBottom · 1 pointr/talesfromtechsupport

Update: since my old pair are starting to get a little stretched out I decided to browse Amazon and bought these the material isn't quite as thin as my old ones and I could do with the thumb being 1/2 inch shorter it does pull my thumb joint to a comfortable neutral position too

u/SoWhatComesNext · 2 pointsr/Cartalk

That's a bit strange for a new car. It's not a misbalanced tire or anything?

If everything is working fine, then your best bet would be a steering wheel cover. I'm not a big fan of them personally since some have a habit of sliding around on the wheel, so make sure to look for one that is of high quality and fits very very tight.

https://www.amazon.com/Just-Squeeze-Rheumatoid-Arthritis-Hand-Wrist/dp/B018VZ9AC4

u/icanteven_3 · 2 pointsr/Raynauds

Fingerless compression gloves like these make a huge difference for me.

u/hitherebehappy · 1 pointr/PSMF

Here's the linky : https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ZO4WW7Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1543265701&sr=8-4&keywords=Compression+gloves&dpPl=1&dpID=416KpfTuZFL&ref=plSrch

Sometimes I just cut the fingers off of regular knit gloves and that is a bit warmer than these would be. and the added bonus of looking punk rock.

u/vivio_bold · 1 pointr/rheumatoid

For anyone also looking for an answer to this... I wound up buying these:

https://www.amazon.com/IMAK-Compression-Arthritis-Original-Foundation/dp/B000N4G8IQ

And they've been a great help. They don't offer the wrist stabilization that I was looking for but there are other products out there that may fix that.

u/C0uchHugger · 4 pointsr/TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

Look for a compression glove that's designed for arthritis relief, they tend to focus more on the palm and fingers rather than the wrist, I have to wear one when I sew.

This is the pair I use

u/mishymc · 1 pointr/ehlersdanlos

Try those compression gloves (the arthritis) gloves mentioned above. I think you will find they give you some relief Amazon - compression gloves

u/beepybird · 3 pointsr/knitting

Compression gloves, they’ll protect your hands and help with any pain in your hands from knitting too long, I think the ones I have are by vive, I got them for around $13 on amazon
Edit: these ones right here are what I have

u/socess · 2 pointsr/MaliciousCompliance

FYI, the shortest way to type an Amazon link is like so:
amazon.com/dp/[product number]. The product number is the one that starts with B0 (usually B00) so, for example, a shorter link to a pair of these touchscreen compatible gloves (these are for operating smartphones with a single finger, not for typing on a full keyboard; they would be just as useless for that as any other pair of gloves) would be amazon.com/dp/B015QNN0T8.

ETA: These are also for arthritis, not warmth.

u/genlilliana · 1 pointr/rheumatoid

I purchased these:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GAOHSY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They are Imak joint support compression gloves and I paid just under $18 for them. I've heard from others that Walmart carries them, but I can't say I've looked for or seen them myself; but you may want to keep it in mind in case you have a tight budget.

The gloves really do help...

u/sea_wall · 1 pointr/DigitalArt

I use these when my hand hurts

u/jmereddit958 · 1 pointr/HelpMeFind

These come in pink and black-

u/anthroteuthis · 2 pointsr/knitting

This sounds like carpal tunnel to me, and since it's an RSI it will only get worse without intervention. I've got carpal tunnel, and I'm stubborn as hell, so I'm not willing to stop. I wear arthritis compression gloves when I knit, and sometimes overnight as well, and it helps a lot. You can also wear wrist braces, if you can stand it. They force you to keep your wrist in a neutral position so you're not compressing those poor nerves. Here's the gloves I wear and strongly recommend: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XWWN4D3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_m5W-Bb92BKHYG

u/anotherjunkie · 2 pointsr/ehlersdanlos

So, it isn’t taping but you can buy a pair of Arthritis Gloves for $10-$15. They provide light compression and stop most of my day-to-day displacements.

u/phineasfogg442 · 2 pointsr/knitting

After marathon knitting sessions, I’ve also experienced similar pain. I wear compression, fingerless gloves for a couple days (even when I’m not knitting) and they really helpOn Amazon
