Things that I already have but I wouldn't mind having more.

Chain lube/degreaser/cleaner pack. It doesn't go bad, so it can be saved for later.

A thermal bike cap. With visor or without visor and ear covers. I have one but i wouldn't mind having a backup.

Merino wool socks. Can't have enough of these.

Scratch labs hydration mix. It's like gatorade, but imho better.

It’s a Hidey Hood 90, and it’s fantastic. Use a helper to set it up, and then it’s super easy to use once in place.

I got this cover for my bike.. It’s light and folds down into a pouch that’s about the size of a padded envelope. It’s not weather tested by me yet, but it goes on and off easily and the holes for a lock should help secure it to the bike. Plenty of space for bags under it as well.

Best thing I could think of is buying a cover for it, they're not super expensive and probably your best bet.

Here's one that's not too bad.

I have an S1. If you got an OG, you may want a L rather than XL. Just as a reference. This cover fits it perfect. Like it was made for it. Not that much slack for wind to blow and lift it.

Given the size of my apartment and all the new baby stuff, storing the bike inside isn't an option as of now. I ended up ordering Yardstah XL and that should arrive tomorrow. This winter I'll have to pay extra close to my bike, make sure to do daily maintenance checks (i.e. oiling chain and moving parts).

Maybe I can remove the wheels so that way I can at least store the frame on the wall? That way the wife is happy that its not taking too much space....blah.

It is not. I have a Z1, and if I have to park it outside I use a waterproof cover just in case. I’ve left it out in the train covered for two rainy days and it was fine/dry:

This cover is a bit big for the Z1, what model did you get? Congrats!!

Prodecotech ebikes are assembled in Florida and are sold and serviced through Dick's Sporting Goods and independent shops. They use direct drive hub motors with twist and go throttle and the new version 5 models get up to 20mph on flat land without pedaling. The Genesis version 5 and Phantom X version 5 models have 600w motors, a front coil suspension fork, 14.6ah battery (30 mile range) mounted on the down tube for better weight distribution, and cost $2k. The Islander beach cruisers have 500w motors, 11.6ah battery (25 mile range) mounted on the rear rack, a more relaxed riding position although rear heavy, and are $1800. Parts availability for the Cross Current is ok, parts availability is a problem for the Ancheer, quality control for both brands is variable, while Prodecotech has a parts warehouse and assembly line in state so parts availability is not a problem, they do quality control of final assembly, and offer a 2 year warranty but they do not cover water damage to the battery - although in their FAQ Prodecotech claim increased water resistance with their version 5 redesigned frame mounted battery pack.

Crazy Lenny's in Wisconsin are currently selling ex-demo Prodecotech Genesis 300 with a 300w front wheel hub motor, 18mph speed, and 10ah battery (20 mile range), for $580 plus $200-300 shipping, you get a front suspension fork and the frame folds in half which would help keep it out of the way if you wanted to stow it indoors which I would recommend because an owner complained on Electricbikereview.com his Genesis got water in his rack mounted battery which then failed and wasn't covered under the warranty. Amazon sell rain covers if you have to keep it outdoors, maybe try putting a pannier cover over the rear rack battery when riding in the rain.

This is what I use and it helps.

1-3. [Schlage 999478 High Security Chain with Cinch Ring] (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X6E0NE0/) and Abus Granit X-Plus 54 Mini

4.(8-10 Hours at work) Same as 1-3 plus Pro Bike Cover for weather and to keep eyes off it.

I have a motion alarm like this mounted on my bike (but never felt reason to set the alarm). I carry a cable lock that I use occasionally. I usually cover my bike at night with something like this. It keeps the saddle from getting wet with condensation and adds an extra layer of deterrence (just can't jump on and pedal off).

Most of my camping is away from towns, in remote camping sites. I rarely see anyone that doesn't seem to belong there. Also helps if your bike can't be seen from the road through the campground, so it won't be spotted by someone cruising through the camp.

edit: the one time I woke up from noises by my bike was from a raccoon.

edit edit: I sometimes leave my bike in the highest gear so if someone is going to try to ride it away, it will be damn hard to get started.

I tried this product and i was very pleased with this, it's the second year with this cover and it doesn't give any signs of weakness. I will leave a link here if you want to try it https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074QPX3LK?ref=myi_title_dp

I'd use a bike cover and the shed. I just started using a bike cover for an old hardtail that I recently bought. Got it too muddy for the garage and it's too cold to use the pressure washer. Works well so far, and it's a cheap one from amazon that I picked up at a thrift store for $1. Here's a link to the one I have.

u/sparklekitteh · 2 pointsr/cycling

Would a bike cover be an option? Granted, a cat could turn it into a magical cave, but it would certainly be another layer of deterrent to keep him from making too much mischief.

u/phantes · 1 pointr/Fahrrad

Diese hier (in XL für 2 Räder) habe ich meinem Schwager zum Geburtstag geschenkt, da seine Rennräder leider auf den Balkon verbannt wurden. Er ist bisher sehr zufrieden.

They make cheaper covers, but you get what you pay for.

u/maze_of_death · 1 pointr/bicycling

I have no experience with this but saw it recently. It's supposed to emit magical vapours to inhibit rust(!).

u/Carnyworld · 2 pointsr/ebikes

The machine shop where I work is next to a trailer park with sketchy people who have previously stolen my bosses $6000 bike, and the only place to store my ebike during the day is right next to the front door which stays open. Along with an Abus lock, a Tile Tracker, and a heavy duty cable lock, I also got this bike cover by Pro Bike Tool on Amazon. It hides it enough that people don’t bother with stealing it.
