wow, I just saw amazon lets you select square taper as a filter! Awesome. This makes it alot easier.
Is the SRAM s600 alright weight/durability wise? Seems like it might be a good option. Also Origin 8 and Sinz seem viable. Any opinions on these??
Ah! Yes. Then you need brake pads for v brakes, linear pull brakes.

Anything like this. Personally, i like the pads that have removable inserts. They arent that much more and replacing shoes are a lot easier since you dont have to muck with positioning.

Velo orange make a set. Clarks. Avid. Really any brand has a decent product like this.
These - honestly tried to do this on the cheap and easy so Amazon Prime BMX bars were a quick fix.

Keep in mind you’ll need a shim if you’re using a 25.4 stem, which is standard. BMX bars aren’t thicker in the middle like road bars are.
Quick trick if you're short cash.
Get a dry scotch bright pad (the green ones you clean dishes with).
Put the pad inbetween the rim braking surface and your brake pad. Push the brake pad in OR squeeze the brake and spin the rear wheel.
It cleans up your rims and makes for a quick and easy fix.
Long term fix. Buy some new brake pads. They're cheap.

These brakes are called sidepull calipers. They typically come on beach cruisers and cheap BMX bikes. The ones on your bike are very cheap, stamped steel ones. Forged aluminum ones are considerably stiffer, and brake better, as well as being lighter.
Odyssey 1999 brakes are a good option. They go for $15-20 including lever, cable, and the brake.

I don't know of any dual caliper brakes that long enough reach, and enough tire clearance to work with your beach cruiser.
You just need to buy a new 1/8" chain (a z410 np is good and cheap) and then shorten it to the appropriate length.
Bike cables are made from stranded spun wires that will stretch slightly with use (it's sort of like a ponytail that's kinda loose when tied and gets thin and long when you tug on it, except brake cables are made of metal), which is why bike shops generally offer a free tune-up after the first few months of ownership. It might be time to go through that Park Tool guide anyway.
If you want to upgrade pads, the most popularly recommended pads are Kool Stop in the salmon-colored material. I found these, but I've never used the half-salmon "dual compound" ones before. https://www.amazon.com/Kool-Stop-Bicycle-V-Type-Compound/dp/B001T35RSC

This would be solid for 600
Like half the capacity of that one should be plenty for casual riding. You could go bigger and have longer between charges but the drawback is it costs more and adds weight to the bike (which will make it handle worse, be harder to carry around etc)
It looks like it does have hole drilled in the fork crown so you can run a BMX caliper brake like this https://www.amazon.com/1999-BMX-Brake-Set-Lever/dp/B073RXSLFT
U-brake is a different kind of brake this doesn't have mounts for.
But from experience those kind of brakes are hard to setup and have the least power of all the different kinds of rim brakes. It could work out though
I have a 3-speed internal hub but my chain will need to be approx. 152 links.
I got two of these for now.
Try Koolstop pads.

Just look at how many speeds you have. If you have 6, 7 or 8, then you can buy a chain accordingly. If you have a 1-speed than its probably a 1/2 X 1/8.
No excuse when these and their kin exist! One bolt to undo the lever clamp, one to remove the brake, and SUDDENLY! track legal.
