Reddit mentions: The best bra extenders

For the time being, I would recommend getting bra extenders. They sell them at most maternity shops, but also at joanne fabrics or similar. They look like little extensions.

She can also buy a few nursing bras, but I would caution against this. She's got bigger boobs now - they are going to get a lot bigger still when she's nursing. (I went from a B before, to a C during pregnancy, to a DD when nursing, and settled on a C after both of my kids).

I would highly highly recommend a few sleeping bras (I had some similar to this - they give enough support for her boobs not to hurt while sleeping, and are great for sleep-nursing after the kid is born.

Her best bet is going to be bras without an underwire, and with a certain amount of stretch to them. (Edit: Stretch is important - her boobs are going to continue to change and towards the end she may want to fit absorbent pads in there in case she leaks as well.) She may want some with light padding for cover, but not too much, because they are going to be bigger than she's used to already, and she probably wont want to accentuate that.

Also, I would recommend easily washed bras - ones that you don't need to worry about drip drying, etc. (this goes back to simple cotton, no underwire) because if she's anything like me she will sweat a lot. Its just part of pregnancy.

As for other things that help - 100% get a belly band! Worth every penny.

Its just a stretchy piece of fabric, but you can wear it doubled over unbuttoned pants (helpful again in the weeks after pregnancy). And then towards the end of pregnancy, i would wear it all the way up to help support my stomach. I recommend getting one in black, white, and maybe another color. The white was great to wear over my belly when i was 8-9 months, because it covered what i called "belly cleavage" - where the shirt hangs down from your belly button, and your pants are under your belly, so you have bare skin exposed to air.

Target has a belly band that they sell - its a little bit thinner material than the bellaband one though. Also, if she doesn't mind a seam, lots of people make them and sell them on ebay / etsy, etc. - they aren't quite as stretchy and supportive, but they cover up which is really the main function of them.

Edit 2: I can't stress enough not to spend a lot of money on bras now. A few temporary ones to get you till the baby is here, and wait until the baby is here to buy nursing bras. I spent a lot of money on bras I was never able to wear because they were too small for me when i was nursing. There just isn't a good way to gauge it. Also what she finds comfortable now - before she had kids - will be completely different from after, because the actual structure of her boobs is going to change. I wouldn't dream of wearing a bra that wasn't underwire with light padding now, but I used too all the time. What used to be flattering for me isn't anymore.

I am not sure how to adress this, since this is a sensitive topic with plush women. But part of your fitting problems are caused by your chub.

It is especially visible on the Elomi Maria. Look at the gore and the center piece connecting the wires. See how it sits on the upper end of your stomach? Your stomach pushes the bra away from your body there, making the cup tilt. This is one of the reasons the Elomi Maria feels so tight. Ok, it is also a strapless, but it has to stretch extra around the tissue you got sitting in your upper stomach area.

A potential solution to this might be a bandless bra. Some women like this construction, some don't. Advantage of a bandless construction is more space for the stomach if you are chubby or pregnant, downside is that there is no padding from the band between the wires and the stomach and thus the wires tend to dig in more. I do better in banded bras, others have found that they love bandless bras. It is something you just got to try.

Elomi Eva and Elomi Abi are two bandless bras that you might like shape-wise and design-wise. They are pretty similar. Cleo Lucy is another very popular bandless bra.

You also seem to be of a short statue, so maybe look at some bras that are made by Elomi particularly for a short built. The Elomi Rita is one and Elomi Megan another. Both have a banded cut though. The upcoming Etta (release in June/July) is the first bandless bra made for a short figure.

Panache Evie is simply a bad fit, not surprising with a strapless bra. They are notoriously tricky to fit. Considering this the Elomi Maria is not half bad. If you really want or need a strapless bra, Elomi Maria is your best bet.

You could try the Elomi Maria again in 40G or use an non-stretchy extender on the 38GG like this one.

Fantasie Jana - the gaping at the side is caused by the tilted cup as I explained above.

The band might also have a tendency to settle into a natural skin fold on the back. I get this too. This makes the band ride up a bit and the gapping at the side worse.

Freya Gem is known to have a stretchier band, but I think it might be beneficial in your case.

All in all you got similar fit issues to somebody who has got a flared ribcage that widens towards the waist.

A potential solution might be to hook the bra uneven, tighter on top and looser on the bottom. Again, a non-stretchy extender might help to achieve this. Also a stretchier band like on the Freya Gem helps since they take better to this kind of abuse.

Yeah, the shape or size may just not be quite right for you, but I figured the strap thing was worth a shot. You definitely don't want the straps to be TOO tight, but adjusting the straps is one of those things I still sometimes forget to do with a new bra that it can make a difference in the fit especially in the top of the cup.

Re: extenders, I had never seen one before either, don't worry about it. :)

I got mine at Amazon, but they're often available at other stores like Target, Walmart, or - here's an interesting one - Joann Fabrics (remember to check for coupons!).

The reason I got mine on Amazon is that you get a lot more of them for the money, e.g. this set or this one, with prime shipping available, but if you want one immediately then you should be able to find one locally! I do not have any particular brand preferences or advice; I've never used one for an extended (ugh pun not intended) period of time so I don't know if one brand holds up to repeated use better than another, or anything. I just got a set with lots of pretty colors because I'm like a magpie or something O_o

Hi again! It sounds like you have the non-elasticised extenders. Here are ones with elastic and here is the kind that are not elasticised. The ones with elastic of course have more stretch, and they change the fit/feel of your band more (although still reversible, of course), whereas the non-elastic ones are just like adding extra hooks to your band; the band will feel a bit looser but it's closer to simulating a larger size band. It's one way to get an "in-between" band size; the other being to buy the larger band and do it up on tighter hooks. It does alter where the straps sit on your shoulders a little; some find this uncomfortable and others don't notice. But if you don't like it, you just take it off.

Wide wires refers to the placement of them; or more precisely how wide apart the wires are in the cups. So if you measure on the inside of the cup (with the bra off, of course) across the widest part of the cup from one inner edge of the wire channel to the other, that's the wire width, or cup width as it may be called. Measuring instructions here. Elomi and its sister company Goddess have pretty much the widest-set wires of any bras, though some other companies have the wide wires/cups as well.

I hear you about the center-pull straps as I prefer them myself, but they're hard to get. Elomi and Goddess do them, and so does a company called Fantasie in some of their bras, but I'm hesitant to recommend them because they don't seem to give enough support for the larger bust. I don't know that Goddess has anything better to offer you than Elomi. Their Keira bra (my "namesake") is similar in fit to Caitlyn but not identical. Keira has clones; Kayla and Adelaide. It's a bit of a shallower fit. Then again, if you're experimenting with going up in cup size in Caitlyn, then the comparable cup size in Keira would give you something just a little different to compare. Then they have a couple of bras called Clara and Alice that come up higher in the chest piece, but it's extra fabric, not a higher gore. They too fit a little differently. Goddess uses US cup sizes though, so an Elomi H cup is Goddess K cup, HH = L, and so forth up to Goddess N cup in some cases which is equivalent of JJ cup UK.

Somethings about weight loss sucks, some not so much. I'll give you what advice I've got for the issues I've also dealt with or at least have and idea on how to solve.

The bra issue sucks. I have the same issue. u/HDavethoreauAway gave some good ideas. I would also recommend buying a band too small and using bra extenders.

The belly fat issue I've dealt a little with, but a good friend had a bigger issue with it. My recommendation from what she did is to buy some large spandex for the belly fat. Not with the intention of sucking it all in, but to keep it from hanging or jiggling. Make sure they are loose enough to be comfortable. Think of it as a body bra. One option would be a cheap bathing suit.

Clothing is an issue I can help the most with. First off, as long as you are actively losing weight, buy cheap clothes (if you can). Cheap clothes usually looks fine for only a short time then falls apart. By the time it falls apart you won't need it. Cheap clothes aren't always easy to come by in all sizes, this may or may not be an option.

The actual best option is to start visiting thrift stores. If people wear it, people donate it. Many people donate all clothes as they lose weight, but hold on to nice clothes that are too small. This means you will find more nicer clothes in larger sizes. Thrift stores sell clothes/sizes people donate, so sizing shouldn't be as big of an issue.

Last of all, dresses and skirts. Even if you are not the biggest fan of them, they tend to be more forgiving in how they look while you lose weight. Skirts tend to be cheaper to alter, and a fit flair style will allow you to use a belt even when they really are just too big.

In all seriousness though, I think you'll do good in a 30F like others have said. Your breasts look firm compared to my pudding boobies, but I'm seeing that you have a similar shape that I do; but mine hang lower.

Try the Cleo Lucy! It gave me enough lift to where the shape I got in the bra is almost identical to your natural shape, I'm confident to say that it'll work for you nicely. Here's me in my Cleo Lucy for what it's worth.

Be aware this band is really snug, and going from a 34 band to a 30 band is going to feel too tight at first, until you break it in, so if you can I would for sure pick up a pack of 2 hook bra extenders to help with the adjustment period. (Feel free to buy other ones beside the listing that I just linked)

I think this method can underestimate for larger women with firmer breast tissue, which you appear to have based on your photos.

I'd say we're around the same cup volume, maybe you're one cup smaller, but you're two to three band sizes larger. I wear a 34J/36HH, so that gives:

Based on the above and on your photo I'd start with 40FF and 42F, but without being surprised if they're still a touch small ;)

If you're in the US (or nearby), Lane Bryant carries these sizes and labels them as 40G and 42F respectively. Cacique, the name of their lingerie brand, is not highly recommended for its quality and can be tricky to get a good fit in because all of their bras are molded cups, but if you have a store nearby that stocks these sizes then it can be nice for trying out the volume before you buy anything in your new size.

If you're fine with buying online, then I would recommend trying the Cleo Marcie from Amazon in 38G, which is on sale for $27 with free shipping and returns. The band stretches to about 41" in a size 38, so it shouldn't be horrible. You might order an extender just in case the band is too small, so that you can still reasonably try the cup volume.

It sounds like your fitter found you the right cup volume, which is awesome! The looseness at the top could just be a shape issue; most VS bras are molded cups, which cannot conform to the shape of your breasts and may be more difficult to fit absolutely perfectly. Molded cups are the least likely to show under shirts, though, and so are very useful.

If you find that you would like more support from your bras, especially as the bands stretch out over time, you could use a rixie clip to tighten the bands or sister size down to a 34DD in the future. I do recommend double checking by taking your measurements, but it sounds like you're doing pretty well =]

I looked at your previous posts, and I really think 34 bands will in general work better for you. I would get a few extenders, they're super cheap, rather than buying 36's and having them be unsupportive. Bra bands do stretch out, and especially since you haven't washed any of these yet they will feel extra firm. If you can get a 32 to close around you, I really think a 36 will be too big. Although - going up to a 36 band will give you slightly narrower wires.

The digging that the Envy is doing under you breasts is actually from the band, not the wires. If you look under the underwires, you'll see the bottom piece of elastic runs the whole length of the bra (that's why its so firm). Run your finger along the bottom edge of the elastic, feel how startchy and sharp it is right there? It will soften with regular washing and wearing. As far as the fit goes, I think the 34GG is a decent cup volume, but the cup is too wide for you. The wrinkling on the cup under your armpit means you don't have enough tissue to fill that area out. Do you feel like you're losing support as the day goes on? Like your breasts are pushing the cups down? Too wide wires aren't necessarily a problem themselves, but they can cause other problems to arise.

The Jasmine might be worth a shot in 34GG/H, I'm a little torn which one to recommend though. In the 32H you're getting some cutting into breast tissue, but you have a lot of center fullness, and the jasmine is very projected. Going up a cup size will result in even more projection, in my experience you will start to see the cup buckle and sag in the middle because your breasts are so center heavy. You can see the beginnings of it in the 32H, and definitely in the 32J.

I'm going to go on a limb and recommend the Panache Clara in a 34H. The cup has more depth than the Envy, and more support in the center than the Jasmine. It has a side sling that lifts the bust so much that a lot of women get wrinkling in the bottom of the cup and assume it doesn't fit them. I do not believe this to be the case, I think it is simply a fabric issue.

The Marcie is too big, by about 1 cup size. You might like Panache Floris and Colette. They are cut the same as Marcie, but have the wider band with 3 hooks, which I find is far more supportive and comfy than Cleo's 2 hook bands. I'd try a 34GG in either one of those.

I’m 23+4 and have quite the bump. I’m still in my pre-pregnancy underwear (the seamless 5 for $20 Target undies mentioned above, and I can second that suggestion), but from pretty early on I bought and started to use bra strap extenders, and I cannot recommend them enough!! I got a multi-pack on Amazon, and I use them literally every day. My boobs have gotten bigger but I feel like I’m not spilling out of the cups of my normal bras, and it’s just as much my rib cage area has expanded (I was a 28-30 band size before, have always been narrow in that area), and I hate the feeling of being squeezed. I have a particular bra style I like and didn’t want to buy all new bras not knowing how big I’d end up. I do plan to get nursing bras when the time comes, but who knows what size I’ll want at that point. So the bra strap extenders have been legit game changers. They’re up there with maternity leggings as one of the best purchases I’ve made in terms of maternity clothing. I’ll find a link and add it when I have a minute!

I'm not an expert, and I don't know much about Comexim, but I had the same question I asked about a Freya bra. I was told that it isn't recommended to wear a bra band larger than you normally wear just to get the wires right. Wearing it larger than you need will just lead to other fit problems; riding up in the back and tissue spilling out the bottom of the front, strap issues, etc.

However, since the one you're having difficulty with is a 65 and you prefer 70 bands, try out the sister size in a 70. It'll probably have wider wires than the 65, but you won't be sacrificing for other fit issues you might stumble upon in the 75.

I don't know how the wires run in Comexim, but check out Bratabase for the model in question to see the wire width and compare that width between the different sister sizes in question. That'll give you a better idea before buying. And ultimately it's all about your comfort and what you like. If you try the 70 and find the wires still narrow and you decide to try the 75, but the band is too large, you could always alter the band smaller or use a Rixie Clip Good luck! :)

Looking at your photos I think you'll find a great fit in those Elomi plunges that don't have stretch lace. Elomi Anushka Plunge, Elomi Kiki, Elomi Matilda, etc.

You might also find a good fit in Elomi plunge with stretch lace (Carmen, Jodi, Maya, etc), but I am more confident in the plunges without stretch lace.

I agree that the wires of the Ellace are too narrow and the band too tight.

But it not just that the Ellace runs tight in the band. You are also struggling with the issue that you have a permanent groove in your skin where the band of the bra sits. So when you measure your underbust, you come up with numbers that are bit too small. The upper elastic in the band of the bra has to cover more distance than you measured.

For this reason I would like to encourage you to get a non-stretchy extender (like these, but feel free to get others) and use these to hook the bra uneven.

EDIT: Try to swoop and scoop more agressively. When you reach back to scoop tissue forward, reach around as far as you can. Try to "grab your spine" and smooth out any tissue on your back too.

So I had twins (and was bigger to begin with). They do get crazy big after your milk comes in, but that crazy level of engorgement doesn't last forever (it last about 2 months for me).

I would recommend soft stretchy bras for that period of time, and save any underwire purchases for when your size has stabilized. You're also super sensitive and need to sleep in them so it's also great for that.

For now they also sell these to get you by with your old ones.

Hi, a couple of things before you give up on that bra.

First, clasp it behind yourself, you're not supposed to be able to turn it around. It will eventually end up in either a stretched out bra or broken wires.

Second, bras need a little while to break in, like new shoes do. Give it a good wash in the sink, air dry it, and wear it around the house for smaller amounts of time. Mine usually take between 2 week and a month. Get yourself some bra extenders to make it feel more comfortable in the mean time. You can find them everwhere from department stores, Target, the dollar store, fabric stores, or online.

Third, I agree with the others that not all stores size properly. Give us a post with your measurements and we'll help you out. =)

RE: extenders, I had a good fit on my Comexim with these from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Cocos-Extender-Ultra-Extenders-6-pack/dp/B00LZET7UY . The extender was a little wider than the band, so it's not seamless, but the hooks all aligned well and they were comfy. In case you have more than 3 rows of hooks at your cup size, this merchant sells different versions with additional rows. Hope that helps!

If you can find something that is close to the right band size, but maybe just a bit too short you can grab one or two of these Bra Extenders that little bit of extra length can make a big difference in comfort! I use them all the time. Good luck in your search.

I do think it's possible to have a properly fitting bra that can be rotated (with a bit of effort, perhaps), around the body. Depends on the person and their comfort.

I think it's an important distinction that a nice snug band is necessary for support but I don't think that's a rule of thumb. I do think a 36 band is going to be way too big and not offer enough support.

My thoughts, /u/through_her_skull is to get her a bra extender (example linked). It may be that she needs to get accustomed to a tighter band or that the bras need a 'breaking-in' period. Either way, a bra extender will help and also allow for something like a 'half size' since you can move the hooks more incrementally between a 34 and a 36.

One last question: She is hooking her bras on the loosest hooks, correct?

It sounds like you might want to invest in some bra extenders, which basically just increase the band size. It might be that you only need a little bit more length in the band, but not a full band size. Bras also do stretch, so an extender can help until the 40 band stretches to a comfortable length.

I should have a beige one I'm not using! I threw it in a drawer and just need to find it when I get home from work. :D

Extenders! I'm trying my best to hold up on buying bras because I started as a DD, and I can just wait and see how big my boobs get and buy nursing bras. I've noticed that having extenders like these are budget-friendly and can help you get a little more time out of your bras.

If you have tall roots, I'm not sure the bra will work for you. It's pretty closed on top.

If you do want to try it, I wouldn't get the 32 band. I find it to be somewhat tight. If that's all they have available, these are on Amazon and one of the pinks may be similar. I got the blue ones for my Cobalt Piper and it's super close.

I bought these but I'm not thrilled with them. The quality is fine, but the spacing doesn't really work and I can sometimes feel them scratching against my back - not on every bra, but some, just depends on how it lines up. I'm not really looking to extend my bra bands so much as reinforce the hooks. The way the spacing is on these, they invariably add about 1/4 of an inch which is fine when a bra is brand new, not so much on my older bras.

These Maidenform extenders are my favorite, but they're not as affordable to buy in bulk.

I find they stretch after a few wears, so better to go for the 30 back. If it is too tight on the first couple of wears, you can try an extender -- they are pretty cheap: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0000864RH

Did you take both underbust measurements (snug and tight)?

26s are pretty hard to come by. You can get them from Ewa Michalak in Poland (custom order, non-returnable, custom order fee), Comexim in Poland (custom order, non-returnable; can also buy from Wellfitting.com/Wellfitting on Amazon...higher priced but they accept returns), and Made in Preston in the UK (non-custom, returnable, kind of pricey and reviews haven't been very good). New companies Edwards & Millers and Bosom Galore will be making 26 bands but I'm not sure when they will be available.

If 28 bands are working for you, I'd stick with those. If they're a little too loose you can try buying bras that are known to fit snugger (like unpadded Cleo bras), altering the band to be smaller (see alteration tutorials link on sidebar), sewing along the band's elastic to prevent it from stretching as much (alterations link again), or using a Rixie Clip (basically the opposite of a band extender).

Which bra did you try in 28GG? If you read through the shape guide on the sidebar and give us an idea of your breast shape someone might be able to recommend some specific bras likely to work for you.

Have you tried an extender? They're pretty great if you can't find a band size large enough.

How backless are we talking?

I got one at TJ maxx for like $4. It's good in that it allows you to wear your normal bra.

I found it! It's called Low Expectations and I have no idea if it actually works but it looks like it might do the trick for a few hours heh. I might have to invest in one next time I have to reach $25 for the free shipping..

I think you'll be fine in a 34. The extender is for just in case and while you transition to a smaller band. You can get something like this. Personally, I went from a 36 band down to a 30 band! The difference in firmness definitely takes a little while to get used to, so even if the 34 seems really tight I urge you to try it out for a week or so before writing it off.

• If you haven't already, please check your measurements according to the side bar. I can't emphasize this enough and if I sound rude about this I don't mean to, it's just important to finding a properly fitted bra of any type!
  
• How backless are we talking? They make low back converter straps that hook up directly to your bra and depending on how the back of the dress looks that could be an option for you. Typically you wear them so that it hooks directly in the back, loops around your stomach and then hooks to the other side. You can also wear them in such a way that you hook it to the back, bring the wing forward, wrap it around your back, and then hook it up to the other wing (also brought forward). The low-back converter strap method would probably give you the most support, though if it is also a strapless dress I don't recommend using one of these with the "bring it forward first" method because I imagine that it would fall down.
  
• Depending on your size the stick on backless bras may or may not work for you. There are a few different types of these, but keep in mind none of them will give you the same support as an actual bra (at least as far as the information I've gathered so far suggests). There's the silicone chicken cutlet type, the cloth chicken cutlet type, the underwire type, the U-plunge type, the disposable adhesive type, and then there's this type which encapsulates each breast, just to name a few. The problem with many of them (though not all of them) is that they label their sizes as "a-cup," "b-cup," "c-cup", etc. They assume that all a-cups (etc.) hold the same volume. This is completely inaccurate so trying to gauge your actual size is very difficult. Mostly you just have to buy it and try it multiple times until you find your size.
  
• For example: I wear a UK 30G and in a Nubra Original I found the c-cup to be just slightly too large and I ended up going with a b-cup. Though I've also heard from someone else who was about the same size as me that the c-cup and even the d-cup was way too small for them. I think I might be shallow shaped and I don't believe the other person was so breast shape may be an issue when finding one that fits as well.
  
• The Maidenform underwire one that I linked to does list sister sizes, so if you have been sized by the methods on the size bar and if a sister size is available then it could possibly fit. A possible fit issue I could see with these is that the wires could be too wide or too narrow depending. The very last adhesive bra that I listed to is probably the most accurate in terms of sizing, but from what I understand they aren't very low-cut if that is a concern.

Please fill it out and let us know how it goes for you, but again, only if you've been sized by our methods (and again if my repetitive nature about this is coming off as rude it's not intended to be - I just want to get the most accurate information out there for other people). And if anyone else is reading this, the survey is still going on. I've only had 2 responses to it so far.

This bra in 55J looks stellar on you. I'm not much help in regards to recommendations, but I don't think you'd do well in Comexim's 2 seam half cups. There's almost no immediate projection-it goes up like a sharp angle-so the gore doesn't tack. A 3hc would be more open on top and more amenable to your tall roots. Also, you can get bra extenders on lots of places. Bra band extenders are my best friend! (like these)

I'm at the beginning of my 3rd trimester, and I've still been able to get away with wearing most of my regular bras with extenders. This way I can make them looser or tighter as needed. I can tell that sometime soon this hack won't cut it any more, but so far it's worked for me.

I'm not sure how much your boobs have grown, but I have found that the bra extenders, like this have really helped me get more use out of my older bras. Or if you do buy a few new ones, and continue growing, this will help you get more use out of them.

I would use these. They're a fairly inexpensive solution and if need be you can use multiples. Motherhood Maternity also sells them for like 3 dollars.

Definitely try a 30 band, I'd say. But if you're worried that it would be too tight, you can get a bra extender to give you a little bit of wiggle room as the band stretches out or your tissue settles back into place. (They're available online and in fabric stores like Joann's, if you have one near you. Just be careful and order the right hook spacing.) If you buy a bra with a borderline-too-big band to begin with, the bra will wear out much faster and you'll have to spend money buying bras sooner. Also you should read this guide to see if you might have shallow breasts, and if so take the bra advice accordingly.

Maybe size up in the band and buy some rixie bra tightening clips? That way you could use them to tighten the band as needed or not use them if you end up needing a looser band.

Ewa Michalak makes KK and L cups in bigger band sizes, although ordering from her seems a bit complicated. I do believe there is guide on this subreddit about ordering from there.

Try bra extenders, they’re pretty inexpensive. My cup size never really changed, just the bust so they worked for me.

If you can't find the cup size you need available with the band size that fits you can try buying the cup size you need in the largest band size that it comes in and use a bra extender to get it to fit.

The other posters have good advice for you. If you are stuck with these bras because of washing, pick up some bra extenders like these. You can get them at Walmart, Target, or any fabric store. We usually suggest the kind without elastic, but in your case with sensory issues and being SO tight, get the stretchy kind. They will add back about 3 inches to your band.

My wife opted for bra extenders so she doesn't have to keep buying bras she'll just grow out of. She highly recommends.

There are different kinds of extenders. You can get non-stretchy ones with multiple sets of eyes, that way you have more control over how much longer the band will be. I bought these and while they aren't perfect, they're keeping me comfortable enough that I don't feel like I have to go out and get a new bra! I am smaller chested, but my boobs have had at least 4 different stages so far and I bought a couple nice new bras around stage 3 because I couldn't imagine they could possibly get any bigger..... wrong!

I'd suggest a Low Back Bra Converter (Link merely for show, no idea if this is a good one).

Otherwise, if you've got small, perky breasts, I'd suggest something to hide any nippleage showing through (depending on where you're wearing it - dinner with parents -COVER THEM/drinks with friends -Rock it!), and rock it braless.

Firstly, please do what /u/eriophora suggested! 32A is a very uncommon size, and a fitting bra will help you immensely right away if that is not your true size.

Now that that is out of the way, what kind of back does the dress have? There exist "low back bra extenders," but I have not used them myself so I am not sure how well they actually work. The ones I linked were totally random.

Some bra bands need to be broken in to feel comfortable. I would suggest wearing a bra extender for awhile, and slowly increasing the length of time you wear the bra.

I'd try finding her something that fits in the cups and then getting an extender for the band.

If it's just at the top, that's not an uncommon problem with Panache and Panache sub-brand (which Cleo is) bras. Panache uses very hard wires. If you want to keep the bras, you should be able to fix the problem by bending the tips of the wires a bit away from your body.

Since you're describing the bands as just a bit tight, a 36 band is going to be too big on you. They will stretch out over time through use, but in the meantime what some people do on here is get bra extenders (example).

I am between band sizes too and I often use extenders on new bras with the lower band size. After a few washes I don't need the extender any more. I have a set like this.
