This is the permanent solution

I used to get random disk ejections twice a day on average. I tried tightening the screw and keeping the eject button away from surfaces but none of those worked.

Then I tried this. I haven't had a disk ejection in over a month since I did it. It prevented me from having to buy a new ps4 or a new disk drive from sony for ~$150 I think it was. It's a permanent solution. It's a little scary because it seems like you'll break something doing this but it 100% works.

You'll need a torx 8 security driver to open the main cover on the ps4. As well as a box cutting knife.

While you're in there you might as well use one of these to clean out your heat sink/fan after taking out the battery. I recommend you check this out to clean out on how to clean out your heat sink.

There. Two birds with one stone. You fixed your ejection button and you cleaned out your ps4 so now it's quieter and cooler.

u/motionglitch · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Fans, filters, heatsinks tend to get really dusty overtime. Clean them out. But never ever use a vacuum cleaner to clean it. Use this or if your really want to invest on a cleaner, this one

Both. But what's the poin of buying an unlocked processor if you're not going to overclock it? ;)

Yes, that's a better one

u/kwazyivan · 2 pointsr/hardware

If you can find one, thats great but make sure it doesnt block the cpu cooler.

Do note that in case the ssd gets too near the cpu cooler, the overheated air from the ssd will probably get sucked in by the cpu cooler and thats not advisable when you're trying to cool the cpu.

Also a piece of advise, it would be wise to clean the cpu cooler with an Air Duster (link below) as it currently looks clogged.

What mblmg said. You should ideally clean your computer of dust once a month or something. It gets itself stuck in there pretty good and playing with your GPU's heatsink full of dust can damage it.

You can buy Cans of Air which are relatively inexpensive and will last a fair few uses. Otherwise if you have a friend who has an air compressing unit it would also be great. Using a vacuum isn't recommended as the sucking power isn't strong enough (or if it is, it's dangerous to the system) to clean dust that has stuck hard.

u/SmoresTiger · 2 pointsr/buildapc
A magnetic screwdriver might be helpful. This kit comes with a anti-static wrist strap as well so you dont shock your computer parts. You also might need something to blow dust away to keep your computer clean, I prefer using an electric duster. But you can also get dust cans if you wish.

Also do you need WIFI? If you do here is a wifi card.

If you're not having XoticPC repaste the CPU and GPU, you should do that yourself. A tube of cheap paste (that's still better than stock) is maybe $7, and the really good stuff is around $20. A can of compressed air with no bitterant (I use this stuff) is useful to have around for cleaning dust out, and you'll need a screwdriver to open the laptop up so that you can blow air into the heatsinks.

For the SSD, currently the Samsung 840 Evo or the Crucial MX100 are the top choices. The MX100 is ~$75 for the 128GB variant, the 840 Evo is ~$130. Just make sure that you're getting a standard 2.5" SATA SSD, either 7mm or 9.5mm high.

Some people suggest cooling pads with adjustable fans, so that you can point them directly at hot spots. But really, as long as there's enough air flow it doesn't matter that much.

Use something like this

Dust-Off DPSXL Disposable Duster - 10 oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0025U3TQ0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ofeTCbF03CHN9

You probably can find it like at wal mart ,Best Buy or somewhere similar also.

The old man is snoring

this air duster would be perfect because working on things you wouldnt have time for is great to do when its a rainy day

u/wormwired · 2 pointsr/secretsanta

I go to lots of LAN parties. Things that pc gamers like are Keyboard cleaners

and Compressed air as getting rid of dust is essential to a gaming pc. USB lights are fun Like this
or This

I would suggest avoiding gaming mouse or headphones as those can depend greatly on a persons prefrence. Some people prefer over the head some people prefer buds. Some prefer Claw mouse some prefer palm. A keyboard is a keyboard.

u/FlugMe · 2 pointsr/oculus

I'd also recommend buying one of these https://www.amazon.com/Best-Elements-Non-toxic-Bitternt-Compressed-3-5-Ounce/dp/B01E4I5EX6/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1527141017&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=compressed+air&psc=1

There's a lot of dust in there, particular in the CPU heatsink, cleaning that out will increase cooling efficiency and lower fan noise.

u/Mememidas · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Lots of dust! Don't blow on it, because that will add moisture. Water and electricity don't work together. Get some compressed air, like this. That's pretty much it!

u/JesusSan96 · 13 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I found a solution for that. I bought on amazon an air-compressed spray and a digital device cleaner spray (6€/$ each), and applied into the inside of the stick. Don't worry about getting wet inside, that liquid is made for that and it will evaporate fast. This will remove all of the dust specks. Joycons are extremely sensitives and they fail with only one dust speck.
This solution will last at least for a few months, when you should repeat the process. It's cheaper and faster than sending or buying new joycons.

Those are the products I bought.

Hope this can help you!

u/schmin · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Thanks, UPS! My BF drastically needs canned air so his laptop fan won't be so loud! =P

u/JP20Boss · 2 pointsr/titanfall

Is this happening with any other games? I asked before but I guess you missed it, heh. I'd suggest you download Speccy. You can use it to monitor the temperatures of components in your laptop. Play Titanfall windowed and watch your temperatures closely. If they reach a peak, your system will shut-off to prevent further damage to itself.

EDIT: Also, I'd recommend picking up a "can of air" like this. You can use it to do some dusting and clear out your PC's vents.

u/deerein15 · 6 pointsr/DIY

Just pick up a can of compressed air. Like http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0002KKIUA/ref=mp_s_a_4?qid=1341404037&sr=8-4. But if you've got a leaf blower, that may end up being plenty good enough.

u/hatekillpuke · 16 pointsr/me_irl

This company has multiple products like this, they definitely know.

u/K20_FTW · 2 pointsr/techsupport

Yeah it may be a voltage problem with the fan, or the fan is on it's last legs.

Shut the laptop down, grab a can of Dust Off and blow off the grime that's on the fan blades. If the buzzing continues you need to replace the fan.

u/joanzen · 1 pointr/trees

OP must be super extra radical church high.

Oh lawd, people be chargin' for the air we breath!

u/snsr · 1 pointr/gaming

A blast in the fan vents from a stoner gust may help with that.

u/EvilDasNad · 7 pointsr/pcmasterrace

https://www.amazon.com/Metrovac-Datavac-Electric-Duster-Alternative/dp/B008ORVV36/ref=sr_1_14?keywords=datavac&qid=1556321491&s=gateway&sr=8-14

I've had mine for over about 10 years now. Love it. It's strong as hell. Some folks over the years have said that it's too strong and can cause problems with static. I haven't had a problem myself with it, and will address that if it's ever an issue.

u/TheSkinnyZombie · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Amazon has some pretty cheap, lemme get a link real quick

Edit: here's the link; http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005FMX712/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1409365571&sr=1-4&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70

I don't know if the price would be the same or not though...

u/PaisleyFox · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Hello, Goodbye~. I've really been needing a new battery for my ancient Macbook. I can't afford a new laptop, so I'll have to replace the fully dead battery in the meantime. Fortunately, I still have a PC, but it could use some of these (presently out of stock @ Amazon, but you can still order them with Prime). Thanks for the contest!

u/jazdk4 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Yeah bud, just something cheap. something like this works.

u/Killerfist · 1 pointr/buildapc

Canned air? I have heard this few times on this subreddit but to be fair am ashamed I never have used one and never even heard about it before coming to this subreddit. It was something on my "To-do" list for researching and buying for the PC that I am planning to build.

You mean something like this?

https://www.amazon.de/Durable-579619-Druckgasreiniger-Powerclean-Druckgasspray/dp/B000NJXZ4G/ref=sr_1_1?s=ce-de&ie=UTF8&qid=1526055619&sr=1-1&keywords=canned+air

u/toothwoes123 · 0 pointsr/buildapc

Yeah except canned air is $11 where I'm from. A local DataVac is also $146 (white) here, and that's not even the ESD version (black) which is $183.

https://www.lazada.sg/products/metrovac-datavac-ed500-ed500esd-electric-duster-made-in-usa-i382712930-s902472505.html?

The only way I can get canned air for a reasonable price is to buy them from amazon in bulk, except I get slapped with stupid international shipping charges.

$220 international shipping charge after adding this to cart: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W72JTPD/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A38VKAMGGLK3QF&psc=1

$133 international shipping charge for this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DPW2SR2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1GEJZ8XPRZUHC&psc=1

I'll have to look through all the shipping options, possibly having to engage a third party forwarder in the US which is not cheap. Except I don't even know if they would actually ship compressed air for me because it's likely a prohibited item for shipping.

The only real options are to use that $15 electric blower (non-anti static), buy an amazon export set DataVac with no local warranty or to get rekt by $11/can compressed air.

u/Aerodamus · 2 pointsr/3DS

I use canned air. It works extremely well and has the added benefit of having a 100% chance of leaving behind no residue from cleaning products or damaging your 3DS.

This is relatively cheap. If I were you, I might try to see if you can find it cheaper locally though. Still, $3.99 isn't bad.

u/Lauren_Is · 3 pointsr/RedditLaqueristas

Compressed air like for cleaning keyboards and whatnot. Paint the tip of the straw with nail polish and aim at your nail (right side up or you can get a chemical burn). The farther away you are, the more splattery is it.

u/LiarInGlass · 0 pointsr/PS4

Just blow it with some canned air It's like $4 at Walmart. Blow some air through it and you're done.

u/JustSayNoToGov · 2 pointsr/24hoursupport

The smell is an additive to make people not want to huff it. YOu can get the same thing marketed as gun cleaner, which doesn't have the gross additives, at a small premium on Amazon.

EXAMPLE

u/endlesscartwheels · 1 pointr/TalesFromRetail

I use gun cleaner for my computer now. The product reviews for computer canned air recommended gun cleaner instead, because it doesn't have the bittering agent, so I switched to it.

u/TheTrueNewt · 1 pointr/WTF

Buy a can of compressed air, or vacuum it out.

u/DoctorOMalley · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I'll recommend you use this Link to get some compressed air, then, if the mobo is really bad, turn off the PC and stick to your phone for the weekend unless absolutely necessary

u/pixeltarian · 1 pointr/apple

Here's the comment you may be looking for:

  • Use a P5 Pentalobe Screwdriver to get the lower case off

  • Use canned air to blow the dust out of the back vents.

  • Don't use a vacuum, the static electricity might cause damage.

  • Hold the fan with your finger when blowing or you risk ruining the bearings in the fan.

Fast Blast Duster 10 oz. Can Air Removes Dust and Debris

Tip: Fixate the fans before blowing the dust out, otherwise they can induce current and kill your board.

u/AlucardZero · 8 pointsr/AskReddit

> I'm a complete idiot when it comes to anything to do with technology.

I can tell.

First off, stop calling your computer tower a CPU.

Second, buy a can of compressed air. Read the label.

Third, take your computer outside, open the case, and blow the fuck out of it using the air can. Optionally, unplug the hard drives, then plug in the tower and turn it on so that the fans spin. Carefully use the air can to get more dust out of the case. Turn off the tower, unplug it, plug hard drives back in, put cover back on case, take computer back inside.
