Ah, we have Raffi, but we also have stuff like Dog Train and Philadelphia Chickens. Music by Sandra Boyton, often employing celebrity talents for the songs. A few favorites are Snuggle Puppy, Boring Song, I Need A Nap (with Weird All & Kate Winslet), BusyBusyBusy, Dragonfire, Pig Island
You should really check out "They Might Be Giants" as well. :) They've started making children's music a few years ago. It may take a few listens for the songs to grow on you, but they are awesome. :)
The No! album has got some great songs, favs are Fibber Island, Violin, I Am Not Your Broom, The House At The Top Of The Tree
Be sure to peruse the "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought" section for some good ideas of similar whimsical modern kids music.
We like almost all the songs from Here Come The 123s quite a bit. Funny, whimsical music videos as well. Some of my daughter's long time favorites are One Everything, Triops Has Three Eyes, High Five, Seven, Hotdog. I like "Apartment Four" quite a bit.
All TMBG Childrens Music
Also check out the For The Kids albums. Great stuff. I've Got To Be Clean is a fav as well as La La La Lemon by Bare Naked Ladies.
And finally, Singin' In The Bathtub by John Lithgow. Very funny, silly and cheerful. :)
Hope this helps. :)

Remember they are in a new environment with new parental figures. Do you know their history prior to your custody? It may help, so if not, ask your case manager. Foster care is very confusing for them, even at 24 months.
Taking a half hour or hour is not abnormal for their age though. My kids don't always go to sleep right after bedtime either. They play with their battery night lights or stuffed animals or sing quietly to lullabies for 20-45 minutes most nights. And they aren't even in the same room anymore. If we kept them in the same room they probably would stay up forever.
IMO the screaming isn't typical though, and may be related to the moving about from foster care. With kids in this situation property can sometimes be an issue. It sounds a little silly, but reiterating that this is their bed and their room and only theirs and its not going anywhere and you are there for them etc... may help ease them at night. Maybe get a stuffy or make sure they have anything they need from their other home(s) that were left behind. Foster moves are often poorly organized and executed and Mr. Tuttles the Turtle may have been left behind in all the hub-bub. I've even heard of parents (who are losing custody) intentionally withholding items and information to make it difficult for the state/foster parents. Working with your case manager closely (having them ask previous caretakers the kids' preferences for routine and if there are any special toys or whatever) and asking the kids specific questions (when I go to sleep I like to hug my bear, do you have anything like that?) will point you in the right direction. If nothing seems like that, make something. Make a big deal about it and take them somewhere to get that new night night companion, or dig out your old ones and give it to them to care for on your behalf.
All that being said, I agree that going earlier may be an answer, as well as throwing a late snack in the mix a half hour or so before night night routine (nothing sugary). Lullabies (without vocals) like Bach for bedtime or this one work well. Nightlights make a big difference if you don't have them already too (but allow for appropriate safety concerns - batteries only and out of reach).
I could go on but I'll stop now. Good luck and thank you for fostering.
It's a pretty spendy set, but A Musical History of Disneyland has a pretty good selection of park ride-through soundtracks including the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and much more! It came out for the 50th anniversary, and its a very cool set. Just pretty expensive at this point, since its such a great collector piece.
Aside from something like this, there are some good Youtube channels who post ride audio, so you could try searching on there. One good one I know of is Mr.ThemeParksAudio. There is also this one which has some good area music loops. Also, SuperHotLarry posts some great audio as well, if I remember right, he's even a reddit user and has been active on this sub before. If you needed physical copies, you could always try to message the people who run these channel, and perhaps they may be willing to give you a copy, but I'm not 100% sure.
Some help:
Maybe Yes, Maybe No (LINK)
by Dan Barker
In today's media-flooded world, there is no way to control all of the information, claims, and enticements that reach young people. The best thing to do is arm them with the sword of critical thinking.
Maybe Yes, Maybe No is a charming introduction to self-confidence and self-reliance. The book's ten-year-old heroine, Andrea, is always asking questions because she knows "you should prove the truth of a strange story before you believe it."
"Check it out. Repeat the experiment. Try to prove it wrong. It has to make sense." writes Barker, as he assures young readers that they are fully capable of figuring out what to believe, and of knowing when there just isn't enough information to decide. "You can do it your own way. If you are a good skeptic you will know how to think for yourself."

I can't believe you're still doing this on your vacation. you are amazing. thank you for being awesome.
prego is a word i can't stand because i had a co-worker who would use it daily when she was expecting. but, i do love me some shrimp scampi with linguini. that's probably my most indulgent favorite pasta. and damn i love me some tiramisu.
I would love this Pixar's Greatest cd. my little guy's 3rd birthday is coming up and he loves these songs.
Here's a dump:
http://disneychris.com/ has tons of park audio bits. Website is horribly set up, but the music is good (most is at 128 mbps though, so quality is limited).
http://www.soundsofdisneyland.com/ has a lot of good music as well.
http://community.magicmusic.net/ has lots of good discussion on which tracks are used as background music in the various lands. The folks on here are good at what they do, and it's amazing how many tracks are available for purchase online.
There are a couple "holy grails" for park audio collectors. The first is the 50th anniversary music release:
https://www.amazon.com/Musical-History-Disneyland-50th-Anniversary/dp/B000AA4MHM
The other is the "Disneyland Forever" audio collection. In the late 90's, they had kiosks around the park where you could purchase various bits of park audio and make custom CD's. There's a torrent around (won't link here) that has compiled all of the artwork and audio from these kiosks, as most of the tracks aren't available for the public. It has tons of area music, ride throughs for past attractions, etc.
Mousebits.com is where fans share in park induction recordings, and past audio that Disney doesn't currently sell.
With any given track, there are usually different versions you can get- that vary in length and audio quality.
Oh! One more thing.... They Might Be Giants has put out three awesome kids albums! When my daughter was little, we listened to "Here Come the ABC's" so many freaking times, and we never got sick of it! They have super cute DVD's to accompany them too.
Anyway, the reason why I bring this up, is because they have an album for kids and toddlers called "Here Comes The Science!". It's all about elements, planets, experiments, gases, photosynthesis, and more. It's one of my favorite things ever.
Here's a link to it on Amazon, but honestly, you should just look it up on Youtube. Then you can decide if you want to get to the DVD or not, or if you just want to keep listening to it on Youtube. It's SO cool. :)
Speaking of Norway: This Album!
Hope you enjoyed your trip. What I love best about my hometown is that it's close to a lot of fun stuff, like Philly, New York City, the shore. But it's still just a small town and when you don't feel like going on adventures, you can still do small scale stuff like go to the movies or go out for ice cream. It's just got a little bit of everything.
No place like home!
When you wish upon a star!
My favorite Disney movie is Aladdin and the King of Thieves because I have always loved Aladdin and I loved meeting his father in that movie.
A Whole New World is my favorite song, it's pretty
Look, it's a Disney album! I'm fine with used by the way :)
My kids (4 and 5 yrs old) love these videos! You can watch them on YouTube if you want to check them out before you buy. It's a fun way to help them understand complicated things like how our cardiovascular system works or what elements are. There are fun songs about planets and dinosaurs... We love them all. We have them on our iPod too, for long car rides.
It really is a modern classic. I remember dragging my parents to the theater to see it when it came out, and I still love it just as much. That love will be passed down to my little one when she's old enough to appreciate it.
Also, this is an awesome album I'm sure you'd appreciate if you don't already have it.
I had never heard of Dinosaur Train, but it looks adorable. Way to go, PBS!
Does your toddler like Here Comes Science by They Might Be Giants? This is clearly the best song on the album.
Are you talking about the fictional origins of these lyrics? Because these ARE the original lyrics; "Everyone knows Juanita" is an original song written by Adrian Molina and Germaine Franco for the 2017 Pixar movie, Coco.
https://acadianasthriftymom.com/2017/11/29/the-meaning-and-love-behind-the-music-of-disneypixar-coco/ (the writing of Juanita is discussed 2/3 of the way down)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073LZD7PH/ (see back of CD cover, left lower corner for writing credits)
I too started researching the same thing you all are researching (what were the lyrics to the original Mexican song?), but then it occurred to me, what if it SOUNDS like an old Mexican song but it's an original song written for the movie? Turns out they did a convincing job of making it sound like a Mexican ranchera.
I do agree with the theory that the authors probably implied "knockers" with the euphemistic "knuckles."
Aw, Happy Birthday! What a sweet contest! I'm going to pick this They Might Be Giants CD for my son - we listen to music every day on the way home from day care and although he loves it all, I could use a bit more variety :-D
Science lover here. It seems to me that teaching the method of science is probably more important than teaching the facts. Understanding the method of science would allow one to rediscover all the facts. To that end, at our house we spend most of our science time focused on the method, and that doesn't require much of a curriculum. We came up with a simple little phrase that defines the method at its simplest and most basic
Observation is at the front because you have to notice things before you can figure out why the things are that way. Observation naturally leads to the next step. As an example, the other day I noticed that our faucet didn't seem to deliver water as vigorously as it used to. So we got together, observed the stream, and talked about various hypotheses. We decided to test one - that there was a blockage in the trap at the very tip of the faucet. So we did an experiment on our hypothesis. We took the little plastic filter/trap thingy out and dropped it in vinegar, and let it sit. After several minutes, we replaced it and did our analysis by turning on the water. It turned out our experiment confirmed that our hypothesis was correct and explained our observations. The water ran much better.
Focusing on the method allows the learners to really come to understand the strengths and limits of science. And once you start making an effort to notice that, you will see that you are doing small science experiments daily just as part of your life.
As for a scientific curriculum, I can't really help too much, other than to recommend the album Here Comes Science by They Might Be Giants, and Kerbal Space Program for teaching realistic rocket science and orbital mechanics in an unbelievably fun way.
My kids absolutely love these:
http://www.amazon.com/Here-Comes-Science-Might-Giants/dp/B002FKZ4UO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1266000184&sr=8-1
and
http://www.simplescience.net
YMMV, but they honestly adore this stuff and it can only be helpful.
I absolutely love They Might Be Giants. This is actually the only physical album on my lists. Everything else is MP3's but I love this CD too much to not want the physical copy.
It's absolutely perfect. <3 Music is life!
Cassie and Alex would love this minnie mouse cd
And for your niece how bout a Hallie Hippo plusshie which my kids would adore too. They both like Doc McStuffins and Alex loves hippos.
Kalanz...you are awesome. So is claritin . Take it with a cup of coffee and you'll be high, flying adored...just like Evita.
Some Robin Thicke (mmm) would be cool. It's not a full album, but whatevs.
Tegan and Sara would be super dope.
So would the Official Album of Disneyland/Disney World
If you're like, ew tribble...those are wack. You can check out my Jamz wishlist.
I am not sure that I entirely agree with this article. While a lot of art has been inspired by religious experience in the past, I would counter that a lot of art in the last century has been inspired by empirical experience. Art itself has become a kind of empirical experiment to find the connection between stimulus and experience. Sometimes god is still the subject of a work of art, but that isn't true anymore for the vast majority of work.
EDIT: Also, this is pretty good.
It's great on any format. The vinyl cost apparently is due to it's limited 9000 copy pressing, a primarily EU release, and Disney's aversion to rereleasing anything from it's prized vault. If you haven't checked out the remixes on Tron Legacy Reconfigured yet I suggest you do so. It's as good or better then the original.
http://www.amazon.com/Tron-Legacy-Reconfigured-Various-Artists/dp/B004M20YDU
I highly recommend Here Comes Science by They Might Be Giants. My kids love it, and my son always says he's going to be a paleontologist, after the song. There are also videos for all of the songs, if you can find them. It's a great album.
The soundtrack for Illuminations and the Tapestry parades was released by Disney as a CD.
It's not still in print, of course, but copies pop up on eBay from time to time and some Amazon sellers always pretty reasonable rates on lightly used copies. Definitely worth finding one!
Two thoughts:
You need to listen to one of the disks on Disney's audio from the 1964 World's Fair. It includes drafts of that script as well.
http://smile.amazon.com/Walt-Disney-1964-Worlds-Fair/dp/B001EQUESC/
Martins Videos did a good background of it as well with some interesting facts.
http://www.martinsvids.net/?p=103
FYI this song is by They Might Be Giants, who also does the music for Malcolm in the Middle, among other things.
One of their CD's has the Hot Dog song on it, and a lot of their music is quite catchy and kid friendly.
My kids love the group and we listen to them often in the car.
I'm really liking the Green Album by various artists doing muppet songs. probably not what you had in mind, but i love (most) of the tracks.
Walt Disney World - Official Album
That album has all the originals and is a little pricey.
Where the Magic Lives
That album is the holding music you hear plus some. Not as expensive but still collectible.
Four Parks, One World
And lastly this album also has the original songs you hear around the parks. Once again, collectible.
Hope this helps!
As many have mentioned, the Tubes of You is a good place. If you need titles to start searching, check out any of these on Amazon (might be a fair bit of redundancy, I just grabbed a handful of URLs):
https://www.amazon.com/Disneyland-Resort-Official-Album-Set/dp/B00FA2ZJU4
https://www.amazon.com/Musical-History-Disneyland-50th-Anniversary/dp/B000AA4MHM
https://www.amazon.com/Walt-Disney-Records-Legacy-Collection/dp/B0106438AS <- Based on the cover, this looks to be the Spotify playlist /u/whitesoxfan5622 mentioned.
If none of those lists contain quite what you're looking for, try contacting City Hall in Disneyland with the specifics and they might be able to help you out/point you in the right direction.
That whole Nightmare Revisited album is pretty great.
If you like that one, then you'll love this set: http://www.amazon.com/Musical-History-Disneyland-Box/dp/B000AA4MHM
Just brainstorming here...
Does he like Coffee? Give him a Starbucks card, there are stores in all the parks now.
The Official Album (https://www.amazon.com/Disney-World-Official-Album-Release/dp/B00EVAY1EQ/ref=sr_1_3?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1479417276&sr=1-3&keywords=disney+park+music)
Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner at a Park Restaurant
Disney Photopass
Make sure he gets a sticker every day
I like the shirt idea too, never ordered here but... https://www.customink.com/photos/tags/disney-world
Ask question to encourage critical thinking. And as /u/pobody said read her stories from other religions. Also present some version of the scientific world view. There is a great series of picture books that present cosmology and evolution to young children. The first one is called: Born with a Bang.
They might be Giants also put out a whole album of children's songs called Here comes Science.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0106438AS/ref=mp_s_a_1_10?qid=1453487962&sr=8-10&pi=AC_SX118_SY170_QL70&keywords=disneyland
This one was pretty cool

I was lucky enough to pick this up in 2006, I'm sure some searching could find you a download: A Musical History of Disneyland, 50th Anniversary
scavenger hunts are my favorite I can't wait to start
Yeah, baby. You've seen this and this, yes? I bought them for my nephew's 1st birthday and already have them in the cart for this kid :D
Might as well answer everyone's replies in one post. /u/subsonicmonkey /u/Peetal
I remember my 50th Anniversary Disneyland CD has "Space Mountain (Daytime Track) listed as one of the audio tracks (Disc 2, Track 10). Because of that I always thought there was a slight variation between the daytime and nighttime tracks. If it was standardized to just one audio track the whole day, then this would make sense why I could never tell the difference. :P
Any Disney historians able to clear this up for me?
There is a Walt Disney and the 1964 World's Fair Box Set on amazon. Not the same one you were looking for?
edit: there are also a couple/few on ebay of the same box set.
This is my favorite of all. I can listen to it all day: http://www.amazon.com/Disneyland-Resort-Official-Album-Homecoming/dp/B001ADJST0/ref=sr_1_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1418752613&sr=1-2&keywords=happiest+homecoming+on+earth
which is on the Tron Legacy "Reconfigured" album. (which is what the soundtrack honestly should have been in the first place)
also
> remixed by glitch mob remix
lol'd
Just curious do you mean this boxset? I've been thinking about picking it up for awhile now.
I'm going to wrongly assume that you mean "where can I buy the r3conf1gur3d album online?" Well, here's one place
Well absolutely Tron Reconfigured
http://www.amazon.com/Tron-Legacy-Reconfigured-Various-Artists/dp/B004M20YDU
Also check out Halo Remixes
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00H7L5NHA?pc_redir=1414331168&robot_redir=1
I was thinking more of things like this or this, which still get stuck in the heads of four year olds (and their parents) every day.

Pixelatedcow1 mentioned this further below, but you should give the R3C0NF1GUR3D version of the soundtrack a listen. This track is from that.

Get this. Not only is it kid's songs about photosynthesis, Computer Aided Design, evolution, and other stuff, but it's catchy as hell. My kid LOVES their DVDs.
They Might Be Giants put out and entire album of kids songs about math/numbers... Here Come the 123s. It was released in 2008- close enough?
This link has song previews... sorry about the initial misfire.
No one has mentioned Dawkin's The Magic of Reality, yet?
And if you're looking for some music, try They Might Be Giants' album, Science Is Real (edit: Here Comes Science). They also have a kid's book called Bed, Bed, Bed.
