Is getting a hotel or airbnb for a couple of nights a week an option?
As I’m using the August Connect Module (https://www.amazon.com/Yale-Security-AYR202-CBA-KIT-Connected-Locks-Works/dp/B07GPXN936) it uses the August Bridge. It’s wifi connectivity is great but the Bluetooth range to the bridge from the lock is the difficulty. You need the bridge to be very close to the door.
You could always prop a chair against the door, there are also portable door locks designed for traveling. But you shouldn't have to police other people, still if it bothers you enough...

I've installed this product on many of my older client's garage door openers. No internet connectivity required. It will close the door via a timer. Even if someone presses the "hold" button to keep the door open, it will still close the door when it turns dark outside (provided there are no lights on inside the garage).

I would've gotten one of these bad boys.
My first suggestion would be to stop being passive aggressive and just tell him to stop slamming the fucking door instead of hinting at him and leaving notes. Man up and yell at the fucker!
But if you want a real fix you can get one of these if there is room in the door jam. Link Not sure if they sell them at the hardware store near you though.
