Chris's shirt is a little challenging. It's a sort of short-sleeve quarter zip. This link will take you to something that isn't quite the right color, but close to the type. Also affordable.

Color is still off, but I think the material and type are a bit more accurate than the one above, it's just more costly.

This one is a bit better as far as color is concerned, though not perfect. At this point, if you're skilled with sewing and the sort, then you can shorten the sleeves.

That all said, here is a BSAA patch. I believe these are the same kind that came with the game's original special edition release, so it's fairly accurate. And Chris was operating out of North America. Barring the above, you could get any sort of green athletic shirt and put this on there. Word of warning, I believe the materials for a lot of athletic shirts don't take to ironing very well. Safer route is to sew them on. Probably for the best, as I never trusted iron on all too well.

The harness is what is a "tactical h-harness". There are many types so you can search them out. They're not too costly, though his is a little interesting. I usually find them where the harness loops that connect to a mid-section belt (amazon search for battle belts) at 4 points. His wraps from the front to the back around his side, and have a loop that extends to his belt. Not the greatest explanation in the world, sorry. The short and skinny of this is that you can get away with just getting an h-harness and looping it around itself instead of trying to make it reach your belt.)

Notice that there is a translucent waist belt? Chris doesn't have that. His h-harness basically just forms a loop around his arms he can just sling around himself. He also has some pouches on the back of his harness.

This link will direct you to a cosplay shirt for Leon. $20 ain't too shabby, but I don't know the quality.

Hope this helps! Best of luck!

There is no single midlayer to rule them all. Between changing conditions, and variance in personal comfort levels, it's really just a matter of figuring it out.

It sounds like your Columbia fleece is on the heavier end of things (perfect for truly cold conditions, but probably too much for "regular" PNW weather). So look for something lighter. Fleece is always safe, but the only real rule is to avoid cotton at all costs. You can spend as much or as little as you like, they'll do the same basic job. The only difference between an expensive and cheap midlayer is stuff like fit, construction, and branding. The function, the ability to keep you warm, is all very comparable (within a given warmth of course).

Realistically, you want a few options so you can tune your kit to match the conditions. And so long as you avoid cotton you can't go wrong. Fleece doesn't even have to be a snow/outdoor brand if you don't feel like paying the premium.

I recently got invited to go on a ski trip out in Colorado in January, and I've never been so I'm looking into what gear I need.

I already have solid base layer stuff from other sports but I don't have any of the snow pieces like pants and jacket.

I was doing some research into what types of jacket options there are and it seems like I can either go 3in1, non insulated shell + insulated mid layer, or insulated shell + layers.

While I personally have never been skiing I have a bunch of friends and family that go fairly regularly so I could see myself picking this up more going forward, so I'd like to get something I wouldn't need to upgrade quickly if I picked up the sport.

Some of the specific options I was looking at:

3in1: Northface thermoball

Insulated Jacket + Layer: Columbia Alpine Action + Columbia Fleece

Any thoughts on these picks or anything you might pick instead? Trying to get something that doesn't break the bank but is effective.

u/purebredginger · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Brace yourself... You're going to need a good coat I know this one is expensive, but if you need something in your budget you could def shop around. North Face is another great brand. They keep you warm and are weather proof and such great quality. I've had mine for several Kansas winters now and I walked to class in snow. Brace yourself!

u/Kablameron · 2 pointsr/frugalmalefashion

I know it looks blue in the picture but I think they list it as black? Yeah, here it is in black, cheaper too. I'm not going to make it it's own post as it's related specifically to this super cool Bond on a Budget idea. Honestly just typed Barbour into Amazon and this is what I found, haha.

Looking to expand my jacket collection for out-on-the-town and cool weather wear. Can anyone recommend a good place to get a jacket in roughly this style? Found one at Macy's and would have picked it up had it been a hundred cheaper. Here is another example, but I'd like to spend my money on something I know will fit and perform.

I was also rather taken with this, but it was also outside my price range. It h as an interesting texture and was light enough for my purpose.

Looking to spend around $100 for some sort of light to medium military/aviation/trucker styled jacket with little to no synthetic materials.

u/humanalternate · 3 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I would call this varsity style. I wasn't able to find a sweater like the one in your comment but I found some that you might like as well. If you don't mind cardigans you'll find something closer to what you're looking for, just look up "varsity cardigan".

Hope this helped.

I am also actively looking for a field/barn jacket in sand/khaki color for this fall. I really like the Orvis, but don't want to spend Orvis money. I stumbled across this $50 'look' on Amazon. I'd love to find some tested alternatives to Orvis, LL Bean, etc.

Casual Canvas Jacket

This is the jacket I wear in moderate weather and it's one of my favorite articles of clothing. I love it to death. I often wear a hoodie under it if I need a little extra warmth, as well, as I think the hood sticking out looks good.

u/dillpickle052 · 1 pointr/Golflefleur

I would say black pants (i think dickies work best but that’s just a personal opinion) and then whatever t shirt as long as it’s not brown and then a brown jacket like this for example. I also think the jacket worn open is better then closed so you can see the t shirt. So it would be from bottom to top: brown shoes, black pants, shirt, brown jacket. This matches the brown shoes with the brown jacket so I think it works. If u do makes this outfit send a pic so I can see how it comes out.

This has worked well for me in Flagstaff. Warm, many pockets, headphone hole, lightweight, inexpensive, and great reviews.

u/deboriole · 1 pointr/HelpMeFind

I know this isn't white but did the jacket look like this style or was it more like this? Sorry, I don't know if you're a guy or a girl. :)

u/kiggidymao · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Honestly with winter already here in a cold snap from hell I've been doing the same. Brace yourself!

First I recommend all the thermals and jackets.

Cold feet are the worst second only to wet ones. Invest in good boots and heavy socks.

If you have a thermos or if you are staying home I am a hot-cocoa addict. (Milk not water, melt marshmallows while too hot to drink, keep layering them until you can sip without burning your mouth, add cinnamon and nutmeg on top.) I recommend this to try out, its friggin' scrumptious.

u/normaluscitizen · 3 pointsr/streetwear

on amazon, charles river apparel has anoraks that i always see people mention for cheap. like $20-30.

here's some variants

basic but thin

sort of thicker, has a liner

stripes boii

can't personally vouch for them, but you can probably dig up some fit pics around here. looks decent and cheap.

edit: ho 2 format

u/IronThunder · 4 pointsr/EDC

TNP recommended, condor softshell jacket. Not really a rain jacket, but it's a nice all arounder. For something lighter, the alpha fleece jacket.

I've heard the Charles River anorak was kind of like a poor man's Carhartt, but don't quote me on that.

EDIT: This fit pic might help. https://www.reddit.com/r/streetwear/comments/4y35k1/pickup_charles_river_mens_apparel_anorak/

u/LennyNero · 2 pointsr/Tools

I've been basing my cold weather workwear on the US Military ECWCS system for a while now.

I wear:

Rothco Gen3 silkweight base-layer tops and bottoms.

Rothco Gen3 midweight grid-fleece lined tops and bottoms over the silkweight.

Then, depending on the weather, I have the actual mil surplus ECWCS gen2 polartec fleece overalls and the gen2 fleece jacket

Finally, my outerwear layer is typically by Refrigiwear, or Carhartt.

One word of importance, make sure to get the underwear layers on and then measure yourself for new pants/coveralls, especially the ECWCS, it adds nearly an inch of insulation around your whole body so your normal outerwear may not fit correctly!

u/Rebecca_Romijn_AMA · 2 pointsr/FashionReps

A Charles River windbreaker would be worth a try. You guys need to branch out beyond the circlejerked brands around here.

If you want something a little lighter, their Pack-N-Go windbreakers would be the way to go. I'm sure they have the same colors available.

I want to find a jacket like this: https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Essentials-Full-Zip-Fleece-Jacket/dp/B0738G223R/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=mens+jacket&qid=1574110681&sr=8-4

But without the fleece material. Also, does anyone know if there's a specific name for this style?

u/GoDM1N · 2 pointsr/starcitizen

Yep, and under it I have this
http://www.amazon.com/Condor-Alpha-Tactical-Fleece-Jacket/dp/B005VDR1XU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421361990&sr=8-1&keywords=condor+fleece&pebp=1421361994585&peasin=B005VDR1XU

The Shell is awesome, but its not that great at keeping you warm. Its really just meant to keep wind, snow and water out. If you're looking into buying one keep that in mind.

u/iBombAtom1cally · 3 pointsr/bigmenfashionadvice

Thanks! Not sure if you already dug around, but their site has 3xl and Amazon has a very similar jacket, but only 2xl.
