If you're looking at the MA blackout vs marauder, the difference is a metal vs polymer body, steel vs brass barrel, and some air seal parts. It'll perform mostly the same. It's really personal preference. How much do you care about a metal body? With the Blackout you can also have it laser engraved with whatever design for free which is cool.

The Maple Armouries are also in CAD rather than USD, assuming you're looking at Maple Airsoft Supply. The difference between them is actually only $110 ($300USD for the Blackout, $190 for the Marauder)

I'd get a rifle first and a pistol later. It's just generally more practical.

I love Vortex optics. They're a bit expensive for airsoft but they're great quality and have a lifetime transferable no questions asked warranty which is sweet. If you want something cheaper, Primary Arms and Bushnell make good stuff.

Besides a red dot, a sling is, imo, pretty important. I use an LBX sling which has been fantastic for the price. I replaced the front hook with a QD mount.

I also use a Strike Industries LINK handstop kit and Slate Black Industries rail covers

Had fun building this with my 11 yo as a gift for college freshman. Here's what we used:

8" sched 40 PVC pipe

PVC cement

Talentcell 12v lithium battery

2.1 Bluetooth receiver / amp

12v to 24v booster

Skar 8" dual voice coil sub wired as 4ohm

Infiity 6.5" reference speakers 8ohm

Mats to isolate 6.5" speakers, and this

Passive raidators (semi-sealed enclosure), and this

Rifle swivels and sling, and this

Mounting feet

Clamps for main plate

Finished it in a truck bed liner spray in black on round PVC surfaces and a metallic gray on the faceplate.

One of the tricks was to create a flat faceplate from the PVC by cutting the 8" pipe section, cooking 15 mins at 300F, then flatenning it out with weight / pressure. Next time, I would prob sub a different material for the faceplate just to make it easy.

If I could do it over again, I'd use a thinner PVC pipe. Standard Sched 40 in 8" weights a lot... 5lb / foot plus very heavy end caps that I used to surround both sides. Probably 20 lbs of PVC alone.

Also, struggle to get the thing to be truly enclosed. Significant air escapes around the perimeter of the faceplate despite applying clamp force and a bit of dynamat.

Sounds great though! 18 yo kid loved it! Lots of tight bass and this amp puts out good sound with the right power/amps feeding it. Sorry not an audiophile so not testing results to share.

Nice! I ended up drilling in with an end mill right between where that screw is and where the "wall" bit that indexes to the bit below the barrel is. Then I threaded it and screwed in one of these: https://smile.amazon.com/GrovTec-GTSW295-Heavy-Button-Swivel/dp/B004Y7DW0U?sa-no-redirect=1

Then Epoxy inside to hold it solid. It ended up being a little inset into the stock (which doesn't swivel as well but I only want it there to use for stability anyway, so I'm cool with that. I'll post a tutorial if people are interested. http://imgur.com/a/yXGEr

I shoot off my pack. I have a Camelbak dedicated for my shooting supplies. That, and as presidentender says, learn to use a sling. I use one of these. They're very quickly adjustable and work as a carrying strap as well as a shooting sling. Since it's a para, and the sling mounts aren't exceptionally spaced out, you might consider a VTAC sling as well.

I would leave it as it currently is, buy a decent sling, and don't forget your bag.

u/newyearyay · 2 pointsr/gundeals

I was looking at these they seem to have solid reviews - if you're looking for a more 'traditional' style Ive had good experience with Uncle Mikes in the past not sure if they can be found cheaper elsewhere though

u/Somnio64 · 1 pointr/ak47

i just found this which recommends this. For only $8 I might as well give it a shot.

u/polarbeer · 2 pointsr/guns

Picked up a Ruger 10/22 @ Academy for $197.50 (plus tax).

I want to set this gun up for Appleseed.

Next purchase will be these: http://tech-sights.com/

Then these: http://www.blackhawk.com/product/Lok-Down-Sling-Swivel,931,115.htm

Looks like a SET might be better: http://www.amazon.com/BLACKHAWK-LOK-DOWN-Sling-Swivel-1-Inch/dp/B004T170OA

Has anybody done an installation of these swivels on a stock 10/22? Is it very difficult?

u/presidentender · 25 pointsr/guns

Tech Sights.

USGI Sling and sling swivels in which to mount it. Oh, and you'll need some swivel studs for the swivels.

Appleseed, too. You should do that.

In any case, good choice of rifle.

u/James_Solomon · 1 pointr/guns

The swivel in the stock had to be installed with a kit. There's no support for a QD setup, though that's not a huge problem. I just use a sling swivel in the back like these.

u/Iinux · 3 pointsr/ar15

If I bought these.

Would they just fit in that mount?

u/PineyMcKnuckle · 1 pointr/ar15

Hmmm... I didn't have any issues. I connected it to the minimalist stock and also to a keymod qd attachment point (link below) on the front with no issues.

This is the sling I ordered: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JA9E45I/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This it the QD attachment point I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TSA44R8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks!

So I can go ahead and get this? Or are you referring to different machine screws for another purpose?

u/Luissen · 1 pointr/airsoft

are you looking for something like this?

not strictly quick detachable, but meh, its fine for my real boomstick.

u/Good_Apolllo · 1 pointr/Hunting

https://www.amazon.com/Uncle-Mikes-Detachable-Swivels-1-Inch/dp/B000O7D6IM

Something like this? You can screw this into your wooden stock or they sell ones to attach to picatiny

u/slavik262 · 2 pointsr/guns

These swivels are great. For the sling, you just want a classic GI web sling. You can find them all over (on the Appleseed website, on Amazon, and some Appleseed instructors bring slings to buy). My only advice would be to avoid this one - I ordered one and it was stiff and difficult to adjust.

EDIT: The pictures on the Marlin website make it look like the Model 60 doesn't come with swivel studs in place. I'm sorry, but I can't help with that - my Marlin had a synthetic stock with integrated studs.

u/r3vj4m3z · 2 pointsr/onewheel

Doubtful.

I don't know the rules on posting links, this may get deleted, but at least you'll see it.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AQPUSA/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_P--JDbNWSDCG4

No shooting involved. Just something that helps you carry things and is quick to connect / disconnect.

I'd probably want a flush mount to attach, just that link shows what I'm talking about.

u/OfficerPewPew · 1 pointr/ar15

You can change your sling to clips and add these to your rifles with QD mounts.

u/ck323k · 1 pointr/guns

I have these on my Ruger GSR. They're a bit stiff but seem to be high quality.

u/HWKII · 1 pointr/ar15

Get an MLOK (or KeyMod, whatever type of rail you have) QD adapter.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077SF11R1?keywords=mlok+sling+mount

It mounts to the side of your rail.

u/Biggie313 · 5 pointsr/gundeals

$13

Amazon

Just look for "qd sling mount mlok" eBay has them from China for $11 shipped

  • 2000 Rounds Aguila Rifle Match - For Appleseed next weekend Link
u/Illumi_natas · 1 pointr/GunAccessoriesForSale

Not sure if you've still in the market, but I bought these and they seem to be quality for the price, and made in the USA.

u/some_kid6 · 2 pointsr/NFA

Mostly done. I have to install the dust cover, crush washer, and buy sights. I can't thank you guys enough for all the info and advice on setting up a trust and filing my first form 1!

Perhaps this Uncle Mikes product is something you can use, if there are no sling studs on your gun already. Or the GG&G sling plate if you want a single-point.

u/lupis42 · 3 pointsr/Firearms

The skills taught by Appleseed are almost entirely transferrable. If you can swing the ammo cost, there's a bit of a benefit to practicing on the AR, but not much.
If your AR has QD cups, get QD swivels for the GI sling (https://www.amazon.com/Midwest-Industries-Detach-Swivel-Button/dp/B005NBYZB6/ref=pd_lpo_200_bs_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=BBKHR7QG9NJNFX5RE98A)
If that's going to be too much of a pain, the Magpul sling appears to be able to do a hasty configuration, which will get you 80% of the way.

Bring your wife, and both rifles, and lots of ammo.

u/Poles_Apart · 1 pointr/guns

I have this model, I purchased some sling swivels on amazon but they're way to big to put them in the mounts that came with the gun.

Also since they are relatively cheap and my pump has a rail already, does anyone have any suggestions for a forward vertical grip that would be compatible with this model?
