It as applied automatically at the checkout. I don't know if it's for everything or specific items. I saw it when I was browsing monitors:

This. ASUS 24-inch Full HD FreeSync Gaming Monitor [VG245H] 1080p, 1ms Rapid Response Time, 75Hz, Dual HDMI, Low Blue Light, Flicker Free Display with Pivot, Tilt and Swivel, ASUS EyeCare https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JGYM5H6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_mkIbzbVJKZCTK

I bought it for $200 at the time at Best Buy. Now it's $175 on Amazon. I love this monitor. Worth the $200 I paid. Very vivid and flicker free monitor. No complaints at all.

u/yeswang · 4 pointsr/buildapcsales

Amazon has it for the same price

If you have the money to spend go by a monitor. It's going to help you see the ball a lot better. This is the one I use

Honestly I would try and save another 100 dollars and get this 144hz monitor. You will be happy you did it. You gotta trust us on this one.

if your TV supports picture-in-picture, you don't need to spend anything.

however if you need to buy a second display, this ASUS 24" is good, and within your budget.

A lot of asus ones do! link. this is the one I use with my Xbox one x. Xbox supports freesync 1 also

If you have an AMD video card you might want to check out this guy:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01JGYM5H6/ref=psdcmw_1292115011_t2_B0043T7FHK

It offers 75hz with freesync for ~$20 more. If you have an Nvidia card it's not as helpful though.

The monitor guide in the build section of /r/pcmasterrace has a good selection of options with features and prices too.

u/Dragonball93x · 2 pointsr/PS4

This if you really think 1ms vs 4-5ms is really a difference. Keep in mind you're giving up visual quality (contrast, viewing angles, etc) for ~5 MILLIseconds. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01JGYM5H6/

Otherwise, for great visual clarity and low response times I would get this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00UFCVKI4/

u/rorop95 · 2 pointsr/FIFA

yes amazon sells good ones. You only dont need anything over 60 hz because its on console. Just make sure you find one with good speakers unless you like playing fifa with a headset one...

the one i have is linked below. its $190 though https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JGYM5H6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have this monitor and I love it. It's probably the cheapest 144hz 1080p monitor:

if you dont like 27in you can check this 24in one:

u/apriarcy · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

It doesn't look like a bad monitor. I personally don't care for 21:9 aspect ratio monitors. The industry standard is basically 16:9 so almost all games will support it. I recently purchased this monitor and I couldn't be more pleased with it. It's slightly more than the one you linked but it is adjustable, has a 75hz refresh rate, 1ms response rate and has FreeSync (I see you have a supported GPU). With some minor adjustments the colors on this monitor are bright and vibrant. I'm very pleased with it.

u/Riruuji · 2 pointsr/Monitors

oh i just realized this is for your ps4! my apologies!!!

for ps4 every game is capped at 60fps so there would be no point in getting a 144hz monitor as your ps4 wouldn’t reach 144fps.

this is probably the best console monitor as it has a 1 ms g2g response time which means it’s going to be extremely responsive!

if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

u/itsnotaporpose · 2 pointsr/buildmeapc

I have this monitor and I absolutely love it. But since you're probably not going to be gaming on two monitors, I would get one of those and your second one can be a 60-75hz. If you want them to both be the same style, I would get this one along with the one I linked at the beginning, one for gaming and another flipped vertical for productivity.

u/Kirby5588 · 2 pointsr/SSBM

Yeah, I agree. The only problem with using pcs to play is that decent monitors cost about $180 on up!

Can't seem to find a low lag for cheaper than this

u/Dolby_Bypass · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Asus does have a 75hz (VG245H) variant for $170.

As it's not meant for gaming I would save $40 and get the (VE248H).

u/ftkcsgo · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Main monitor: ASUS 24” MG248QR 144hz
Side monitors: ASUS 24” VG245H 75hz
Mount: VIVO Triple Monitor STAND-V003M
Both monitors have the same bezel. The side ones were just made for console but match perfectly at a discounted price. The mount I would highly recommend because you can raise the monitors individually so they actually line up unlike some other mounts.

u/Valeyu20 · 2 pointsr/xboxone

That’s why I don’t play on tv and use a monitor instead.

Am very happy with my ASUS VG245H Gaming Monitor, I got it during a big discount on amazon, it retails at about 200$, I got mine for 120$

I just plugged in my JBL Creature speakers to the audio out 3.5 mm headphone jack and I get all my sound perfectly fine.

I’ve heard good things about the ASUS VG245, it’s around 200$ brand new but if you pick one up used or refurbished I’m sure you can find it for 150$. https://store.asus.com/us/item/201705AM190000007/ASUS+Gaming+Monitor+VG245H++24

u/jeffpeli · 1 pointr/Tekken

I would definitely go for a gaming monitor if possible. I found this Asus monitor on Amazon earlier this year and I've had zero regrets. It has 1ms response time, great colors, and everything looks super smooth. I'm thinking of buying a second one so my monitors for my dual monitor setup are matching. I can't recommend it enough, especially for the price.

Plus there's speakers on it as well but definitely use external speakers or a headset if you can.

u/MKnives89 · 1 pointr/xboxone

It really depends on your personal preference. Do you play online FPS and need fast response time? If yes, then you'll need a monitor that's around 24-28" with 1ms response. If you're just going to play skyrim, then a 42" would be awesome and can double as a tv for netflix etc.

If you’re going smaller than a 32”, I would get a gaming monitor instead and hook some decent speakers up to it. Most TVs are terrible for gaming since the latency on them is ridiculous compared to a decent gaming monitor. I currently use a 24” 1080p ASUS monitor with a 2ms response time and it’s been just great for the last almost 5 years. I am looking to upgrade it to a 4K monitor, but there aren’t that many decently priced 24-27” 4K monitors from decent brands at this point. Maybe sometime soon. Not taking advantage of the 4K on my X...

Edit: if you’re okay with a 1080p, this is a really good one for a good price I used temporarily last year:
ASUS Gaming Monitor

I almost upgraded to it from my current one, but I’m still holding out on a 24” 4K that’s not too expensive.

I need help choosing a secondary monitor.

The primary monitor I have chosen, which will be used for gaming and work, is this:
https://www.amazon.com/24-inch-FreeSync-Monitor-VG245H-Response/dp/B01JGYM5H6

For secondary monitor, I would like the size to be 21.5-23", and it doesn't need to have strong specs, just not too far from the primary one. It will be used for work, browsing and video streaming. I was considering this as a secondary:
https://www.amazon.com/VP228H-Black-Widescreen-Backlight-Monitor/dp/B01G52Z9MU

Is this a good pick? If not, could you please tell me what I should be considering when picking a secondary monitor? If it helps, my build will have Ryzen 5 1600 CPU and a 1060 3GB GPU. Thanks.

I was mainly looking at the difference in VRAM. As for Vega/1070, my monitors have FreeSync, granted only 75Hz... so I'd prefer AMD, but feel that Vega would be overkill?

A lot of you suggested I sell my 470 on Ebay due to the incredible demand and shoot for a 1070. Is that my best option considering my monitors? At 1080p https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JGYM5H6

u/demoux · 1 pointr/buildapc

Is this a decent monitor? ASUS VG245H

I'd plan to use it for daily PC use, plus hook up consoles to the second HDMI port via an HDMI switch. My wife and I play co-op console games online and it'd be nice to be able to toggle more easily between the PC input and the console input than I can with my current Samsung SyncMaster 2333 monitor from 2009.

One of the big appeals to me about this monitor is the adjustable height, because my desk is a funky height.

Because of the desk and current situation I'm only able to get a 24" monitor. When we move in year I might be able to get a larger one if I have to replace the desk, which is unlikely to survive the move.

ASUS VG245H but I plan on getting a 144hz when I finish my build completely

u/Kevino_Tee · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'd be playing the usual. PUGB, Overwatch, BF1, Fallout, etc. Probably more AAA games as that's kinda what I'm used to w/ consoles.

I wouldn't say I'm really dead set on anything at the moment tbh. I would like to get the best bang for my buck really. I do actually have a monitor already that I'm using for my PS4.. I'll edit that into my post. It's an Asus VG245H (https://www.amazon.com/24-inch-FreeSync-Monitor-VG245H-Response/dp/B01JGYM5H6)

As you can tell I really have very little idea what I'm doing lol. So the 1080 would be better value then at this time? Thank you for the recommendation!

How does it compare to this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JGYM5H6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_O2KDzbZATKDRH

I'm not too worried about price, but if I can save money without sacrificing too much performance it would be nice.

Which monitor do you recommend? i have a gtx 1060 6Gb and i currently play Player Unkown battlegrounds at solid 70 fps on high.

That's an oldie one monitor. It's not even 1080p. Here are two choices.

Both are good monitors.

Will this monitor work with a Nvidia GPU? I know freesync won't work, but will I still get 75hz?

Also would DVI work with no drawbacks (like not getting 75hz) other than not carrying audio like displayport/hdmi.

Thanks.

I haven't used the e243 myself, but a quick google search shows that it's an IPS monitor at around $270 or so.
You'll get better color quality on an IPS monitor compared to a TN monitor, but it's honestly not much of an issue for me while gaming. I have an IPS monitor next to my XG2401. The XG2401 does an excellent job with it's color/image quality compared to the IPS monitor I have. In general, TN monitors will have a hard time competing with IPS monitors in that regard.

But you'll be running at around 60 FPS on the HP monitor (IPS monitors in that price range generally don't go above a 75 Hz refresh rate). Not that going above 60 FPS is a necessity unless you're extremely competitive and play shooter games or something like League of Legends or similar games. It's always nice having a higher refresh rate, and at a $30 difference I'd say the XG2401 is the clear winner.

Only reason higher refresh rates might not be an issue for your son father (right now) is due to the GPU he's running and what settings he's playing his games on.

Honestly, without getting into too much detail, you'll probably get more out of the XG2401 vs the HP monitor, but it's $25 over budget for you I think.
Going off the reviews alone, it seems like the XG2401 would be a safer bet.

There are other options available though if you decide to do some more research.
ASUS VG245H for instance (although I've never used it and just pulled it off PC Part Picker).
ca.pcpartpicker should give you an idea about what's available. You could also check the sidebar on /r/monitors for recommended monitors and what to look for in monitors.

IIRC: The Xbox One OG is getting an update (or was already updated?) to support ADM FreeSync, and the One S and One X are going to support FreeSync 2. So I would go with a 1080p freesync monitor, like this. It might even be worth it to shell out the extra ~$80 for the 27" version.

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for all the help, I'll start ordering tomorrow. On a side note I'm debating on this monitor.

Any advice on that?

Also any advice on all the protection plans? I usually avoid these things but not sure...

Thoughts on this one?

u/TehLordOfPancakes · 1 pointr/buildapc

Okay thanks, I'd say the only reason I wouldn't get 144hz is I don't want 60 to look bad and If I were to dip to 120 (which I do sometimes in csgo) it would look eh. Wait are you saying there aren't monitors under 20ms or under 20ms in my budget? This is advertised as 1ms, just not interested in the 75 hz.

u/SchmeckleConverter · 0 pointsr/Monitors

Definitely take advantage of the FreeSync adaption if you can! Looks like these monitors ballpark around $200 USD, so I would recommend this Asus VG245H.

There is also the 144Hz version of this model that's listed at $277 USD, but u/guitarstix did link a similarly-spec'd LG monitor at a much better price.
