These things are fucking gold. You put just the bottom part in the drain. Don't push in all the way. Just the tip...(base)

i use a bobby pin to get under all of the hair so i can pull it off with my hands. i also frequently boil it to get rid of product buildup.

if you think the hair in your hairbrush is gross, please invest in a hair catcher for the shower drain.

If you suffer from long hair clogging up the shower drain, get a tub shroom. Best investment ever.

As someone with a lot of hair who also sheds a lot of hair, I'm going to suggest a "tubshroom" strainer for your shower. It will still eventually get clogged up but lasts waaaaaaay longer than any other strainer I've tried (the struggle is real, folks).

Other tips:

• When washing your hair, don't pile all your hair on top of your head and "scrub", just lather your hands and run it through your hair, using your fingertips (NOT nails!) to massage your scalp.
  
  
• Wash your hair as infrequently as possible (once a week if you can).
  
  
• Scalp massage can help increase bloodflow in your scalp and is the only thing that is proven to increase hair growth.
  
  
• Don't "scrub" your hair with a towel while drying it. Turban wrap it in a towel and let it air dry. Or if you use a hair dryer, don't be aggressive with the styling brush.
  
  
• Careful with brushing / combing. Don't use plastic bristle brushes: boars hair or bust. Combs should be wide-toothed, with not rough edges.
  
  
• Don't brush / comb wet hair.
  
  
• Start from the bottom of your hair and work your way up. If you're prone to tangles: be generous with conditioner, maybe even switch to a leave-in conditioner. Be generous with detangler spray (you can make your own by diluting some conditioner in water).
  
  
• Not related to hair drop, but if you're not prone to tangles and tend to have oily hair, I highly recommend apple cider vinegar as a conditioner / clarifier. It is the only thing that leaves my hair soft and shiny without giving me an "oil slick" in two days. Use 1 tbsp vinegar to 1 cup water.
  
  
• Don't wear your hair in tight styles that pull on your scalp. Braids are your best option (they don't pull on your scalp, and the tie is at the bottom of your hair, so it's not damaging newer hair at the top).

I use this one. It's pretty pricey for a piece of plastic but really easy to clean out after and well worth it IMO.

Here you go, I saved you a LOT of headaches. I just pull this up when Im cleaning the shower at the end of the week/month/whenever the hell I get around to it.

I bought one a year ago for the tub in my bathroom and it works like a fucking dream. 15 bucks on amazon and catches every single piece of hair. Super easy to clean out too and my drains never clog any more.

Recently had a drain go super slow, used a cheap plastic drain snake to get most of the hair/soap scum. Followed by this method and it's flowing perfectly. I would also hiiiiighly recommend a TubShroom (amazon), replaces the normal drain in your tub but keeps all the junk in an easy to get to place.
