I hear you on all fronts. Oh hell no... lol. No need to be forced to iron!
I love craft shows. I'm slowly shifting from : oh hell I could make that... to ya.. and lets say after I did that once.. for an end grain cutting board I could have bought for $300.... I ended up spending $700 in supplies + I called in favors and borrowed about $1500 in other tools. HAHAHAHA. Not to mention the time to make it. Sure it was fun.. but next time I'll just buy the cute knitted animal for $50, from someone who LOVES to do it. instead of spending $100 on supplies and letting them sit in my closet for 3 years, then finally getting around to making it and it looks like crap because I haven't made 500 of them by hand. hahaha. I mean I am pretty crafty.. but I don't always love the process to get to the final product :D
What about this type of table? Narrow, but you could put two next to each other?

Have you tried rolling your goods? That may help? Again-- no clue if you have tried every option but rather suggest and have you say "been there done that" VS miss something!
I run my own business too (computer consulting) so I am ALL about those tax deductions!!!
My parents do shows too (not crafts and sell things too), so I know that "it rained all weekend" crap all to well. They actually bought an RV to drive all over the place and store their inventory in it... and save on hotels. They do not make what they sell... so their supplier just ships the bulk of the inventory to a new city if needed. It's nuts.. but my parents seem to be doing okay when you consider they are both retired. It gives them reasons to go places, tax deductions, and some fun money to spend. Dad is a LOT happier when things are gangbusters :D
Best of luck in your selling!!!
Assuming you want to avoid adult oriented things - and thing that may be considered shady.
I am also assuming your computer is a laptop or relatively mobile.
My suggesting involves a form of selling. First you must pick a subject that you know very well and then think about questions and answers a novice would have.
For example, I know computers/Internet well. Things a novice might ask are:
Come up with a nice long list of questions and solutions. The idea provide quick/succinct computer advice.
Buy a folding table, folding chair, poster boards, markers, and cookie jar.

Pack the computer, table, signs and jar into your car and find a spot with high foot traffic. This could be a downtown street, near public transportation, entrance to your neighborhood, community function (street fair, swap meet), the beach, etc.
Once you pick your spot, setup shop. Unfold the table, chair and put up your posters. Get the jar out, take off the top and affix a piece of paper that kindly asks for donations. Be ready to demonstrate you solutions on your computer.
Here is what will happen:
First, because you are offering the services for free, people will be more inclined to visit your booth.
Second, everyone has a computer and therefore the topic is familiar. You will have people come by that know their answers and want to see yours. You will have people that are genuinely ignorant about a topic that you can help. You will also have know-it-alls that quiz and grill you.
The trick is to be a good salesperson. You are offering good advice, for free, but without warranty. "This works for me, it should work for you, but I can't 100% guarantee". If you have a great demeanor, people will appreciate the novel advice and provide you a donation you.

As an added bonus, I would figure out how to record some of your sessions (web cam?). Then you can post the video with the title "How I made $$$$ quickly...." You can also contact the press describing your adventure and I am sure someone would bite.

I made this so I could visualize it myself. Simple and minimalist, so it seems fairly low maintenance. I like a black painted wood bench (add some pillows for your style), a black metal end table, and simple decor like potted plants and oversized lanterns. I think the curtain helps close in the area and make it look more cozy. I know this style isn't for everyone and may not exactly match your house exterior, but let me know if you like it :)

Regarding a long desk for you to share, consider getting a folding banquet table. As long as you're not too concerned with aesthetics, they're ideal. Cheap, durable, can be used when entertaining, last forever, stores compactly, and you'll always have uses for it long after you've left that studio and settled down somewhere more permanent. I used one in my first couple of houses for a desk and it's still in my garage now. we use it for a workbench and when we have cookouts. You can get them at most office supply places and in different finishes, so some look nicer than others.

Can you list a budget? If $2K is too expensive, what is reasonable?
Are you looking for just the tent and cot/mattress - or does this budget also include 4 sleeping bags, chairs, stove, canopy, and other camping essentials?
What low temps do you expect to sleep in?
Tents are not insulated. You'll need a quality sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and clothing for warmth.

Here are some items I'd recommend:
Plus a set of chairs that will make everyone comfortable around the fire.
Okay, got it. If it were me, I'd just pick up a plastic folding table - something like this. I don't particularly care for having the seam in the middle when it's unfolded, but it does make for convenient storage when it's closed up. I think something like that would give you more stability and put you at a better working height. Having the 18x12" bench on 5" pipes seems like it would be unstable to me if you ever really leaned on it, and if it's unstable it's unsafe.
I do not have a piece of plywood to put over it and I should have clarified in my original but its just a typical plastic table like this. http://www.amazon.com/Multipurpose-Utility-Center-Fold-Folding-Carrying/dp/B00D49B0US/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1410219587&sr=8-9&keywords=plastic+table
Ooh, yeah. Well, if you have 366.75 in Canadian money, you can still have it!
Not related to your question, but I have 2 of this https://www.amazon.com/Best-Choice-Products-Folding-Portable/dp/B00D491T2W

each one is 120cm x 60cm, when I want to play big games, I just put them together and have 120x120 which is enough for most of my games (Biggest one so far is the Rising Sun playmat)
Are you referring to the dining tables or side tables? Like these? http://www.amazon.com/Adams-Round-Dining-Table-28-6/dp/B000H1Y4LI/ref=sr_1_15?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1426482825&sr=1-15&keywords=round+plastic+patio+table
I don't recall them ever being that inexpensive, but if you want a low priced set, try Target and/or Big Lots and sometimes places like CVS or Walgreens.
I've had one in my back yard for 4 years. You can buy them on Amazon. I wouldn't stand on it, but for normal table/bench use it's stable.
Edit: I believe this is the one I got. little different from the one in the image. The arm rests fold out of the way in table mode: Amazon Link
would something like this work?
Like this, right? I got one just like this at Target for 35 bucks. Planning to get a 4x8 sheet of thin wood or something with guide rails attached to the bottom to hold it in place for my biggest games or for RPG nights.
For a table, my wife has something like this: http://amzn.com/B00D49B0US
It's a 6' plastic folding table that folds in half.
I played with someone who had this guy over the weekend. I can't find it on American sites tho
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Confidence-Golf-Deluxe-Headcover-PARROT/dp/B007P206LY
I figured that since he bought 5 joysticks, he must only be responsible for 5 systems.
That's my logic, anyhow. But if he provided all 10 stations, then it's probably closer to $10k.
While not identical, you can make one from plans here http://3simplequestions.org/folding-bench-and-picnic-table-plans-instructions/
or amazon it from here https://www.amazon.com/Merry-Garden-Interchangeable-Picnic-Table/dp/B000MITWM2?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B000MITWM2&linkCode=as2&linkId=2VJYW4HV4WBT74SZ&redirect=true&ref_=as_li_tl&tag=gardenilovebl-20
