The answer will depend on whether you're looking for the authentic Mesopotamian Ishtar (Queen of Heaven, Lady of the Morning and Evening Star, protector of the King, numen of the Storehouse, patroness of sacred sex, and all-around liminal goddess), or a vaguely occult sex-goddess dolled up as a "Venus" archetype.

If you're looking to welcome the historical Ishtar, then here's some general advice:
In Mesopotamian polytheism there is a definite separation between humanity and the Divine. Our species was created by the Gods to serve as caretakers of the Earth. While we do possess a portion of their divinity within us, we are not inherently Divine and our duty is not to "become as Gods," but to serve those whose sum and substance is already of the Divine. To that end, you will never be on an equal footing with Ishtar. If you pursue a bond with her, she will be your Goddess, and you will be her devotee.
If you are agreeable to the above condition, then the first thing you will need to do is create a shrine for her (preferably with altar capabilities). This is non-negotiable. In Mesopotamian polytheism the Divine exists "elsewhere," and in order for them to bless us, we need to provide a port of call. The port of call will be your altar-shrine, which will, by necessity, need to be dedicated solely to the Gods and Goddesses of Mesopotamia. You can freely work with other deities, spirits, and supernatural forces, but they should not be invoked at Ishtar's altar-shrine.
The above might seem strict, but it is entirely necessary. In Mesopotamian polytheism the temple did not belong to humans, we were merely employed to work within it. The actual structure, and the land it was situated on, belonged to the deity to whom it was dedicated. In the modern day most of us obviously lack the funds to construct massive ziggurats, so, as soon as you bless the altar-shrine for use, it becomes Ishtar's property. In my personal experience the deity will also usually claim the space surrounding the altar-shrine, using walls and doors as natural demarcation points.
With the above in mind, remember that when you're before the shrine (or in the room housing it) you are a servant, therefore cleanliness is of the utmost importance. To the deities of Mesopotamia physical impurities were taboo, so do not bring any kind of disease or filth into the presence of the Divine. If you are sick, you are encouraged to seek medical aid and avoid performing your duties until your health returns. If you are dirty, then clean yourself (especially your mouth and hands) before commencing any work in Ishtar's presence.

Now, with most of the preliminaries out of the way, there are only three essential pieces that must be on your altar-shrine:
The idol can be any statue that you believe represents Ishtar. It can be an authentic Mesopotamian design (like the Mari water-pouring goddess), a modern artistic representation (like this one by Derek Frost), or a random chance find at a second-hand store that just calls to you. Whatever the case, make sure that you like what you pick, because it will become Ishtar's vessel and the conduit through which she takes action in your life. The idol is placed at the center of your altar-shrine. If a statue is beyond your means right now, you can use an icon (a piece of printed artwork, framed) as well.
The censer and incense are essential for communication. In Mesopotamian polytheism the smoke of incense serves as a conduit between humanity and the Divine: it carries our words (petitions, praises, and prayers) to the Gods. Traditionally, Mesopotamian incense blends featured juniper, cedar, and myrrh. Feel free to experiment though, as I know modern allergies dictate what an individual can and can't use safely. Incense will be lit at the start of any act that requires you to speak, and should be kept going for as long as speaking persists. The incense itself can be powdered, cone, or stick, and the censer should be placed to one side of the altar-shrine.
Finally, the bowl is entirely practical: you fill it with fresh, clean water so that, before beginning any work, you can wash your hands. In Mesopotamia the Tigris and Euphrates rivers were instrumental to the survival of the people, and it was believed that all life was created from "clay" gathered on the banks of a subterranean freshwater aquifer. So, in Mesopotamian polytheism fresh water is a sign of purity and cleanliness; use it to demonstrate that you are both pure and clean.
You can adorn your altar-shrine with other objects that correspond to Ishtar, of course, but that is entirely relegated to personal taste. Things associated with her divine office are always good places to start, as well as lapis lazuli, a stone which was used as a by-name for many of her temples. You don't need any of the traditional occult tools (wand, chalice, sword, pentacle, etc), as those are not part of Mesopotamian polytheism.

Moving on, what do you actually do now that you have an altar-shrine?
The most common practice is providing sacrifices, offerings, and libations. In Mesopotamia these three pieces were distinct from one another. A sacrifice (called niqû) is a type of meat offered to the Divine. Meat choices included: beef, chevon, lamb, hogget, or mutton, as well as poultry and fish. An offering (called nindabû) was anything that cereal crops had been used to create, and most often took the form of breads and pastry cakes. Finally, the libation (called naqû) was a drink offered to the Divine. The favorite libation of the Gods is beer, followed closely by water, and then milk. Today you can substitute other drinks as well. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, and more were also part of the meal served to the Divine, but these did not have special ritual designations.
So, essentially, serve Ishtar lunch and dinner (preferably both, but at least one each day if not). This was a major aspect of our interactions with the Divine in Mesopotamia: entire "temple wait-staffs" existed for the sole purpose of raising, preparing, and serving the Divine his or her daily meals. This makes it the most accessible and familiar act we can perform to earn their attention and respect. Best of all, any edible portion of the meal is yours to eat after the Divine has partaken. This means that you can literally have the God's meal yourself after they've tasted it. The only exception to this is the drinks. Never drink the God's drinks: all libations are to be poured out onto the Earth at the conclusion of the meal. In general, I would suggest waiting as long as it takes you to have a meal before partaking of the Divine's portion. This will allow Ishtar to enjoy its contents first.
Secondary activities you can perform are: cleaning the altar-shrine, with special attention placed on washing the idol to keep it pure; reciting Ishtar's myths, cult songs, and paeans (which can be accessed online and in print easily); dedicating objects to Ishtar and then presenting them to her on the altar-shrine as they become available; meditation, for which we have no surviving template from Mesopotamia, but which is so ubiquitous a practice in the ancient world that it surely existed; and petitioning Ishtar's involvement in your life (which I can elaborate on if you wish).

Finally, what should you expect in return for your service and devotion?
In Mesopotamia the contract between humanity and the Divine stipulated that, in exchange for humanity's service, the Gods were obligated to protect us, our homes, and our investments. They were also expected to act as barriers against injury and disease, and arbiters of justice in our lives. A human who had earned his or her God's favor could expect good fortune and enduring health to be bestowed upon them. In general: the Gods were expected to help us handle and manage practical matters that protected our bodies, minds, souls, and material possessions. They could also be called upon for more mystical aspects, but that is a separate write-up if that's your goal, since the Mesopotamian concept of spirituality is very different from most other modern ones.

Alright. Assuming you've made it through all of that, and still want to work on forging a relationship with Ishtar, you're also welcome to join us over at r/Sumer, a subreddit I moderate that is dedicated to reconstructing Mesopotamian polytheism and making its techniques and practices available to the general public.

Q: What's the deal with magic? How can an atheist believe something like that?
LaVeyan A: Throughout the ages religions have each had their own rituals and dogma; Anton LaVey correctly recognized the value of ritual in the human animal's daily life. Under the context of Satanism, magic isn't something like summoning a demon from the abyss or shooting fireballs from your eyes as an outsider might expect it to be. Magic is subdivided into two different categories: lesser magic and greater magic. The Satanic Bible defines magic as, "The change in situations or events in accordance with one's will, which would, using normally accepted methods, be unchangeable." Given this definition, lesser magic means things like how you dress, your posture, applied psychology, seduction, manipulation, and more. Talking a car salesman down on the price of a new car that you want is an example of the practical application of lesser magic, or picking a girl up at a bar. Greater, or ritual magic, is a psychodrama that's intended to alter your mental and/or emotional state of being. It's a process to follow that can bring about a cathartic response in the participant(s). This is psychological, not supernatural.
> The Satanic Bible defines magic as, "The change in situations or events in accordance with one's will, which would, using normally accepted methods, be unchangeable."
Under the context of Satanism, magic does not fall within the realm of the occult though it does touch upon many occult concepts such as the power to influence the world around you by focusing you or your group's willpower, and the power of placebo. If you truly believe that something works, then it can affect you. This is why people swear by things like the power of prayer. Two hands working may be able to accomplish more than a thousand clasped in prayer, but don't discount the benefit of placebo. The tools that a person learns through studying Satanism can certainly give them a solid foundation to study within the occult if they so choose, but is not occult itself. Some people gravitate toward the study of the Left Hand Path (LHP) as Satanism favors self-reliance and personal strength.
For further reading, here is a link to an essay about ritual magic written by the High Priestess of the Church of Satan, Peggy Nadramia. Here is another essay about the role of ritual in a Satanist's daily life, also by Magistra Nadramia.
Q: Do I really need all of these things like bells and gongs to perform a ritual?
LaVeyan A: You don't actually need anything at all to perform a ritual, but creating the proper setting with the use of candles to light your ritual chamber, an altar, and ritual elements such as a sword and bell helps to draw you in to the psychodrama of performing the ritual. The result is that you may have more success with them than without them. Ultimately the practice of Satanic ritual is individualistic as is the rest of the religion, so you can use as much or as little of it as you want to use. There isn't any requirement to perform ritual at all if you don't want to. I myself am an Active member of the Church of Satan and the only ritual I've been involved in was at the Chuch of Satan's 50th Anniversary celebration, though I do maintain an altar at my home.
There is a fantastic piece about exactly this on the Church of Satan's "Satanic Youth Communique" page, including a simple ritual requiring only a Sigil of Baphomet picture or medallion and a single black candle.
Q: Where can I purchase ritual elements online?
LaVeyan A: The implements that people use (or don't use) in their rituals are a personal choice, but I have compiled a small list of examples of what you might expect to see at a Satanic ritual. Here is an example of a bell that has a clear, piercing sound to it. A bell of this design was used at the Church of Satan's 50th Anniversary ritual. Here is an example of a gong that one might find in certain high-end ritual chambers. A high quality gong like this would be right at home in The Black House itself. Perhaps you might want a statue of Baphomet or a small altar to rest it on. What ritual would be complete without black robes? There are fine black robes made by ASP Apparel and iSatanist.
Of course, all of these are simply examples of things that are out there. Every Satanist's ritual chamber will have different items that go along with it that best reflect their individual nature.
Q: I'm thinking of converting to Satanism. How do I know if I'm a Satanist?
LaVeyan A: Someone doesn't convert to Satanism. This religion isn't for everybody, and you wouldn't hear anyone from any of the Abrahamic religions tell you that their religion isn't the one truth, but there you have it. The world would be a more problematic place than it already is if it were populated solely by strong-willed individualist misanthropes. But if you're sincerely curious if you are a Satanist, you should read The Satanic Bible and see if you feel that the book reflects who you are as a person. Satanists are born, not made.
Q: Do I have to join the Church of Satan if I am a Satanist? Why do people join? What is the benefit?
LaVeyan A: Not at all. Satanism encourages individualism, and if joining something isn't you then don't do it. There are members of the Church of Satan that go their entire life without meeting another member of the Church of Satan just as there are people that attend every public and private function that the organization has. I can't speak for the reasons that other people join, but for myself I simply wanted to support the organization that has been championing and defending my worldview for over 50 years. You get out of it what you put in to it; as I said there are people that never meet another member of the organization just as there are people like myself that have discovered entirely new social circles in their lives, and people that can offer honest and unbiased feedback. Don't join if you expect to be participating in weekly group rituals, the reality is much different.
Information about joining can be found here.
Q: Where is the Church of Satan? I'd like to attend a meeting to see if I'm interested in joining.
LaVeyan A: There isn't a brick-and-mortar facility in the sense that most people think of when they picture a church. The Church of Satan is a mutual admiration society rather than the more traditional congregational gathering point one might come to expect from other religions. Each member of the Church of Satan, through their actions and how they enjoy their life, is an individual monument to that institution. On rare occasions there are Church of Satan events that are open to the public, and you should follow the Church of Satan on social media platforms to keep an eye out for them if seeing that interests you.

I'm gonna be working Black Friday, but lets be real, Cyber Monday is what it's all about! I can't wait to buy a present for my little sister. She has down syndrome, and loves movies, singing, cats and being silly. I may buy her this she had a Lilo bobble head that was part of her everyday set up (she has a specific set up for the play room, where she queues up the next 3 movies she is going to watch, the last one gets covered by a pillow-I like to think to keep it a surprise), the Lilo was set up on the floor on top of The Lion King CD. I'm pretty sure our dog trampled the toy, and I know she'd be thrilled with a replacement. This looks like it has much more stability. And, she's 24, so it's classy and age appropriate. Betcha weren't expecting a novel! I'd love a canvas!
Here is a variation of a dice game that was said to be played throughout Scandinavia during the time of the vikings. I am not sure how accurate it is but it is something to look into:

Here is a rather beautiful Valknut pendant:
http://www.amazon.com/Valhalla-Valkyrie-Valknut-Pendant-Necklace/dp/B002DXMI1Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1321818713&sr=8-2
A beautiful pendant with a Viking longboat on it:

A decent DISPLAY ONLY sword: (The blade is not properly connected to the hilt and it wiggles a little.)
http://www.amazon.com/Bud-K-Classic-Viking-Sword/dp/B000UVW2GY/ref=pd_sim_misc_17
Now if you can afford to spend a little more I would recommend some of these beautiful statues. They range from $46-$73, most with free shipping. I own the Freyja statue and it is absolutely beautiful.

I like these best because they remind me of the scene in Men In Tights where Robin accepts Rottingham's challenge to a duel by hitting him round the face with the glove like this :D
This scene!
I like any surprise off my wish list, I'm not fond of choosing something specific.. though this would be practical :)
anyway, I love Kevin! Whoop! Cool contest idea by the way :)
Decorate already! These books ends would look wonderful and go well with the decor you already brought in. I think that This little guy would look simply adorable keeping an eye on your computer desk. I love black cats and books so if you do too this trinket box might work out well. Could we request a GC? I am saving for a vaccum otherwise surprise me, I wish you the best of luck finding some things for your desk/office area.
Zywer Industries made some.
There are also Dark Horse figures for Aang, Korra, and Aang's statue in LoK.
Also a Nendoroid of Korra.
Additionally Mondo did a Korrasami statue but i'm pretty sure that's sold out so you would have to get that second hand on ebay.
Hey, I have that statue! Affe mit Schaedel. It sits on my desk. :) http://www.amazon.com/Design-Toscano-PD0053-Darwins-Sculpture/dp/B001O6G30U It's pretty nice, if anyone else likes it.
Amazon has some cute things:
Winged cat gargogyle shelf sitter
3D Jack O Lantern LED lights
Spider Webs and Bats Lace Curtain panels
Resin Pumpkin shelf sitter
and http://www.vintagehalloween.com/vintagehalloweenstore.html
has some very cute Johanna Parker Halloween items.
You could also go to Etsy (.com) for cute and spooky Halloween decorations.
Hey to the person that asked about the Baphomet statue, here it is on Amazon. I'd highly recommend using Amazon Smile and set the donation to the Freedom From Religion Foundation (or TST or ACLU or wherever your black heart leads), that's how I ease my guilty conscience for using such a horrible company.
I own this necklace and its very well made
this is probably the most accurate and satisfying Baphomet statue appearance, tho I have not ordered it yet as it's quite expensive
Here is a satanic pentagram ring, or alternatively, here is a Baphomet ring
here is a Baphomet Jewelry Box, and here is an incense cone holder where the smoke comes out of Baphomet's mouth
Heres some extra stuff:
mortar & pestle
satanic bedtime stories
Baphomet Wall plaque
Baphomet Poster
pentagram ritual bowl
ritual knife, do not cut anything with it
Hope this helps
I got something a lot like this from Amazon. Sturdy, looks good and holds my headset and headphones :)
Edit: snapped a pic. Link
I have this statue as well... It's made out of a nice quality resin of some type.
The pictures do it no justice; it's absolutely lovely: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MQJ3AI3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_P3wGDbE4ZF234
Elephant! Because that's my favorite :3 Also I would love to have this! http://www.amazon.com/Bronze-Trunk-Up-Elephant-Statues/dp/B002ADEUJW/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=11P20VUCUL1BS&coliid=I2WX3H4EQJ7YJL
Cat gargoyle.
Awesome sauce.
Ebook.
Thanks for the contest!
Love my fellow vampires! I work night shift so I was forced to be one but whatever :)
With these bad ass gauntlets I could work on being a pickle knight! Protector of pickle, savior of pickle, and worshiper of pickle. Pickle!
I need some good luck.

Thank you for the contest.
My PI had cool glass sculptures around her office so I got her this to add to the collection:
Crystal Statue

It might be a bit on the expensive side for your purposes though.

If you find a cool pin or brooch that would be great too. Though the letter and stopping by periodically to check in would probably do a lot in their own right.
Of course, right here for Canadian amazon and here for other 😊
Thanks! I got it on amazon :)
Amazon has it for $26 as well, free shipping w/ Prime
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MQJ3AI3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_bDzbBbDPXK2R4
It's 10" tall though, so maybe too large for what op has in mind
This is my favorite kind of artisan video. At first, I look at it and think, "I could totally do that!" Then I see how much work, materials, and tools are involved and think, "I could totally buy that!"
Actually, I am going to buy that. I can't believe you can get a pair for $40. It looks like they are selling them overstock or something.
Amazon. It's really nicely detailed, and it has a heavy base which lends it a good amount of weight.
Great idea, but I would not recommend disabling that setting. I also bought a Styrofoam head as well, but have yet to use it for that reason. Thinking about it now, perhaps cutting away on the head to make an area that would not get close enough to the sensor? They make glass heads you can get from Amazon for about $35. I am not sure if just the material is enough to trigger the sensor or it is also a combination of light blockage. If so, maybe a transparent glass head could work? Will have to try putting up a glass cup to the headset to see what happens. https://www.amazon.com/MVAP-6832-Glass-Universal-Display/dp/B00XQH8Y9I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474999566&sr=8-1&keywords=glass+head
Well you mentioned the Korra one and the Lin one together which made me think you were talking about the zwyer statues not the dark horse ones. The aang statuette is definitely not low quality

You're welcome! $200 on amazon.
Thanks!
Here are the geometric shapes which I got from Amazon.
It's actually a glass head for wigs! haha.

People also use it to display headphones, so I figured why not a HMD?
As for the riser below it, it's a monitor riser. I don't remember where and when I got it.
This is the link he sent. It is really nice.
Large Baphomet On Pedestal in Faux Stone Finish Statue by Pacfic Trading https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SQ2YVPY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_DWRUCbACC99GD
I have one of these! This one specifically, and man I wish I got it for that cheap....
Eventually I’ll be getting this head I’ve seen photos of it supporting HMD’s for years now. Currently I have mine resting on my PS4 pointed away from windows due to my ceiling wire setup.

This one on Amazon is 6 inches and in glass. Only $34 looks like it's what you're looking for
I use something like this for my Vive. The controllers I just hang from some command strips hangers.
https://www.amazon.com/MVAP-6832-Glass-Universal-Display/dp/B00XQH8Y9I/ref=asc_df_B00XQH8Y9I/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=190951341267&hvpos=1o4&hvnetw=g&hvrand=822861205200069816&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1016030&hvtargid=pla-300811856159&psc=1
Reminded me of this from my childhood. I used to sit and look at it in the Sears catalog. As I look back on it, I am suprprised that Sears was so high on fine art. Allthough, I guess it was more of a decorator piece, which makes more sense for Sears.
Here is a Link to Amazon, if you want to buy it.
Bought this (new) for 10 Bugs: http://www.amazon.com/MVAP-6832-Glass-Universal-Display/dp/B00XQH8Y9I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458474489&sr=8-1&keywords=glass+head
works fine

Try these on Etsy or these from Amazon, though for the Amazon ones you may have to combine pieces and spray paint gold.
If you're looking for these prisms with glass instead, I'd search for "geometric terrariums".
the Aperature science logo idea came from u/enzo69 post https://www.reddit.com/r/ValveIndex/comments/c7gv1g/aperture_science_headset/
The Controller stand came from u/BearCubTeacher post https://www.reddit.com/r/ValveIndex/comments/ccckf2/i_made_this/
Glass head I got from amazon url: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XQH8Y9I
I got that on Amazon for $35ish https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MQJ3AI3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_8IrQDb7XF7ZA3
Regarding the head stand - as others have noted, it looks like a skull. But, if you wanted a head, here is what I could find:
https://www.amazon.com/MVAP-6832-Glass-Universal-Display/dp/B00XQH8Y9I/
(there are other colors of glass heads as well)
There's this odd thing:
https://www.amazon.com/Clear-Plastic-Mannequin-Scarf-Display/dp/B009W67966/
Another possibility would be to get a cheap foam or resin skull, or a cheap foam wig stand head, and do the "tape ghost" treatment to it (start with step 6):
http://www.monstertutorials.com/2015/03/27/ghost-1-how-to-make-a-packing-tape-and-trash-bag-ghost-tutorial/
Or, for something a bit more substantial, do the same as step 6 and 7, but try to find and use heat shrink plastic, or brush on acrylic resin in layers...
Etsy
Ebay
Amazon
I guess it is a simple glass headphone stand which reflects the display light.
https://www.amazon.com/MVAP-6832-Glass-Universal-Display/dp/B00XQH8Y9I
How's glass?
I guess you forgot these at home:

I'm all set...apart from this! Surely, surely a must for us all.
