Well, the whole Razer Blade hype is quite good, but thee is a lot of talk withing the circle of people I know, that they do not last too long...
Evga recently came out with a BEAST of a machine, but that is kinda gonna cost you 2700...
If you want something that will last, and is a great machine, I recommend picking an MSI GAMING SERIES, which hover around the 1-2 large.
If I had to give you a jab, around the price range you supplied, along with the specs you want, I would get something along the line of the following products:
All Prices taken from Amazon. May be cheaper somewhere else.
Well editing videos is a big task; requires a decent preferable quad core intel core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM recommended, an SSD and definitely a good graphics card. Your budget is very decent and can land you a brilliant laptop for your tasks..
This Laptop is a very great pick for you. It has all you would need for editing. But if you really can get this CUK MSI GT72 Dominator laptop , I would recommend you take it and later on but an SSD for it. It already has a 1TB 7200rpm hdd which is not bad at all, but what puts it a above all is its outstandingly powerful i7-6820HK processor and its massive 32 GB RAM... It has an excellent display in terms of screen resolution as well as color vibrancy.
Google Voice number is a good idea. I had my old desk phone setup as another phone in GV, however the problem was that due to working the night shift, and not a M-F job, there was no easy way to have GV toggled on and off for it. Plus I was always on a separate line (it was a tier-two IT callcenter job) so I couldn't always answer it when I was working, especially not on a weekday.
For the booster situation, any postpaid customer should be able to get a T-Mobile LTE Cel-Fi for free (maybe with a $25 deposit). Stick the Network Unit ("Window Unit" as T-Mobile calls it) in whatever part of your floor has the best reception (use your phone's About > Status screen to get your current signal strength in -dBm. Higher the number (closer to 0), the better the signal). Then stick the Coverage Unit either in the center of the building, or closest to your area as possible while still within range of the Window Unit.
Lastly for the headset, I highly recommend a Plantronics Voyager Legend. It's an excellent Bluetooth headset with the best quality I've seen, and can easily last through a whole day of talking or streaming audio. It supports wideband audio, meaning you can take advantage of T-Mobile UMTS/VoLTE/Wi-Fi Calling's HD Voice quality. They also make a "CS" model which is the same thing, but has a Bluetooth base station you can hook up to your desk phone for a little over $100 more. Whichever of the two you go with, I also recommend picking up one accessory: the charging case. It lets you store and charge the headset using its built-in battery two or three times (meaning you can easily have 18 hours of talk-time, days of standby time, without having to plug anything in) and the charge case will charge itself and the headset at the same time using a standard micro-USB cable (the headset uses a proprietary cable sort of like an Apple Magsafe adapter).
I've been using $15 - $20 ones for a few years now and I like them.
Biggest complaint is the battery life. 2-3hours of continuous playing before I need to recharge.
My favorite of the ones I have tried are these, but they are not available anymore.
I started with these, which are really in expensive.
If you plan on doing lots of physical activity, I would avoid them, but they are cheap and great for desk jobs and driving.
These are the ones I am currently using, got them for Xmas. Much better battery life for use, but the charging is kind of annoying. You have to use the case it comes with to charge the item. But the case holds multiple charges, and charges with regular mini USB (the previous examples use a custom cable)
One complaint I have is the rubber ear piece. It just slips on the tip, nothing really holding it on. So sometimes when I pull the earpiece out, the rubber part stays in my ear. Pretty annoying when it does happen, but the extra battery life makes it worth it to me.
While pulling up these links, I did find this one. Appears to be the newer version of one I liked the most that is unavailable now.
If I could find the longer batter life version, I would pay much more.
BUT, for their price, they are good. And one thing to keep in mind, these are small things. I have lost 2 so far, either to being left in a pocket and being washed, or falling out of my pocket when I retrieved something (keys) from them.
Since they are cheap, replacing isn't too bad (financially)
Good luck. If you find one you like, feel free to reply with it. I am always looking for more 1 piece ones to try.
Hi, I'm Deaf and I don't particularly have advice for vibration techniques that could help you.
One way I think could help is using a bluetooth earpiece like this and set up an audible notification from your phone, alerting you through the bluetooth earpiece.
Vibration technology is going to be a dilemma of too strong and it wakes up your boyfriend or too weak and it doesn't wake you up. You could also get used to it and tune out from the vibration. I used to have a shaker under the pillow and I eventually started sleeping through it (so I use a strobe light which forces me to open my eyes and shut off the alarm).
Hope it helps. I don't really know much about the experience of using bluetooth earpieces, tbh.
Yup. It's a Bose. Great quality all around. I don't think they make them anymore though. Battery life is growing short in the one I have,
Bose Bluetooth Headset Series 2 - Right Ear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005LISQ0W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_weMMwbY3JWD40
The best replacement I've found is this:
Plantronics Voyager Edge Wireless and Hands-Free Bluetooth Headset with Charging Case - Compatible with iPhone, Android, and Other Leading Smartphones - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JLVNF2O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_CfMMwbJ6AFE9B
Jaybird X2s work great on my iPhone 7. I've also had the original Jaybirds and they were great on my iPhone 6 until I left them behind somewhere. Up until I bought a new plantronics headset they were the most reliable bluetooth headphones I had ever used... very rarely had signal or connectivity issues. On that note, this new plantronics headset is unshakeable and the battery life is insane, and it's cheap too:

This is a quote from the Kickstarter comments section by Nikolaj:
"A note on bluetooth performance:
https://support.bragi.com/hc/en-us/articles/206318599-Improve-the-Bluetooth-signal-strength
Bluetooth performance is divided into two main categories. On body and line of sight performance.
On body performance improves dramatically if the Bluetooth device protrudes out of the ear (like old bluetooth headsets). I never wanted to make teletubby headphones, and The Dash rests within the ear. The head, ear, shoulders etc create “radio shadows”, that reduce on body Bluetooth performance. The "shadow" can only be overcome if the headphone protrudes significantly out of the ear.
This is especially noticeable, when you are outside with no walls to reflect the signal. Link distance in line of sight of The Dash (+- a few meters) is about 14m to your left, 20m to front, right and back (NOT SPECIFICATION, just personal experience). If you are within 7 meters of a wall, the wall will reflect the Bluetooth signal to provide better on body performance.
On body, we recommend to have the source (phone) on the upper right body. Many other manufacturers have the same recommendation:
http://www.jaybirdsport.com/static/media/uploads/support/pdf/Jaybird_JF4_USER_MANUAL.pdf (look at outdoors/gyms)
https://www.google.de/url… see page 2
http://www.amazon.com/Jabra-STYLE-Wireless-Bluetooth-Headset/dp/B00DUTIZJG
Review notes from Jabra Style Headset:
There is a lot of cross body interference. For example, if the headset is in my right ear and I have my phone in my right pocket then a lot gets garbled.
General application of bluetooth headsets in open space causes challenges for on body performance. As soon as the phone is close to the body, bluetooth link quality drops significantly. Even if our device is right in the ear, we are on par on performance with most headsets, even if they stick far out of the ear. Physics is a bitch.
We feel that The Dash has average on body performance, even though the device is a lot smaller and within the ear to comparable devices.
The Dash has great line of sight performance on Bluetooth."
If you don't want a 200 dollar Bluetooth mod, I use Bluetooth LG headphones from amazon.
Something like this
They fit really well inside any helmet, and don't block out too much sound.
These are the best I have found. Comfortable, and the battery lasts 2+ hours.
Bone conduction headphones are great for exactly what you're describing!
A O+M instructor that I work with suggested these in a meeting lately (link)
They make a laser printer version of the tatto paper. I have used for my daughters cosplay, and it works great. This is the one that we used, but there are other options available now as well.
I've been using this for about 2 years and it's been the best headset I've used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HWHTJQA/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_yewtub0TGFE2P
I used a Jawbone Era before this and always got complaints of call quality. The Motorola has a charging case too which I love when traveling.
I've heard this is good too but I haven't used it https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JLVNF2O/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_vhwtub1YRXH0B

There are a few LG Tone headsets under $50 now. I like the style of them. They hang around your neck so it's harder to lose. Great for working out and generally blocking out the rest of the world. I have these currently.
They have brought out new models. one and another
These are not: bluetooth
You haven't tried the right ones.

Check into tattoo paper, you can print on it via inkjet or laser printer. You can also use tattoo sleeve
Just get a cheap bluetooth earbud with a smart assistant button, like this for less than $10: https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Bluetooth-Headset-One-Button-Assistants/dp/B01G4LLOHQ
Hit the button to activate GA, then give a command. I don't own this, but I'd bet hitting the button again would interrupt it and cause it to listen again... maybe double-tapping it would end the conversation. You could probably turn up the volume enough so you could hear the response without wearing it on your ear.
Seriously, just get a $15 bluetooth headset. One of these things.
If you mean something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-Explorer-Bluetooth-Headset-Packaging/dp/B00W3TAMG8
I need stereo sound, so that is a no go.
Also, I need a specific model recommendation. I already tried buying with less information, to no avail.

I do this often lately because the 3.5mm jack on my Xbox Controller no longer works. Instead of buying a new controller, which I don't have money for at the moment, I can still talk with my friends. I usually use the stock White Apple Earpods that come with every iPhone, but my buddy routinely uses his AirPods and it should work with any bluetooth headset which can be had for as low as $20 on Amazon.
All this is carried comfortably in my 5.11 Apex pants.
Updated: So I posted on EDC 3 years ago back when I was working for a small Chicago based IT consulting firm with no flying that's the first photo. Second photo is my EDC I currently work for a very large Global Tech Consulting firm with weekly travel to the east coast.
I can include links to things if curious just ask.
