is it possible it is the North Face Thermoball Jacket in Matte Urban Navy with red contrast lining? I didn't actually find any with the contrast detail but I saw it in a few other colors.

Also I saw this bomber jacket on Uniqlo and liked it, it's not an exact match or anything but it's nice.

Looking for a charcoal beanie to go with my peacoat; which one of these would have the best quality?

Help me find:

A much cleaner looking, curve hugging, soft-lined, somewhat wind resistant jacket with an interior pocket.

Previous incarnations:

I had a pleather jacket similar to this

pro: vaguely biker chick aesthetic, interior pocket, soft cuffs made the whole thing feel a bit like a sweatshirt

con: pleather didn't last long, not super fitted around the waist, I don't love the aesthetic of the waist band

I currently wear a rain jacket sort of like this

pro: appropriately warm, wind resistant, lined, interior pocket!

con: ugly, boxy, velcro pockets, not a big fan of hoods, did I mention ugly?

I plan to wear this as casual daily wear. I have a pretty dramatic bust to waist ratio and would like something that is as fitted as possible and will last me a long time.

Yeah buy one like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004F7QBES/

They're awesome

The MSR HH NX is a very nice tent, very well made and livable. It is kinda narrow though. Overall, I really enjoy using it when conditions aren't right for a hammock.

2015 Wishlist:

TAR Xtherm

Osprey Exos 58

MH Ghost Whisperer

STS Aeros Premium Pillow

Geigerrig Hydration Bladder

Also in the market for a decent camera if anyone has any suggestions?

It depends on where you live, of course. I live in Maryland, which is certainly not the coldest place in the world (especially not this winter). When the temperature gets cold, I prefer a solid utilitarian jacket. I have and love a nice Columbia jacket. The jackets you've selected certainly seem nice too, but I think I'd want something closer to a ski-coat for when it really gets snowing.

I have a beanie hat on my clothes wishlist that would be great for warmth during the winter. And oh-so-stylish!

This! The [Under Armor one] (https://www.amazon.com/Under-Armour-ColdGear-Infrared-Tactical/dp/B01A6LXL76/ref=pd_sim_200_2?ie=UTF8&dpID=31KhXzqwP5L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=RHP7C05S4CCZHYYAQ847) is great and is very breathable. I just keep the part that goes over my face below my chin and drape a loose scarf over the same thing. Before that, I used to tie down my hair in a thin bandana and wrap a scarf around. That also worked pretty well.

Just realised they have to be from amazon, apologies mate. I ended up going with these though, good reviews and they seem like they’d be warm, what do ya reckon? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0761V4859/ref=oh_aui_i_sh_pre_o0_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My below zero setup is this.

Top:

Ski goggles

Neoprene mask

Jeep cap

Ice fishing jacket

Base layer long underwear

Regular t-shirt

Wool gloves

Ski gloves to put over your wool gloves

Bottom

Base layer pants

Regular pants

Snowpants

Cotton socks

Wool socks over the cotton socks

I tend to wear high top gym shoes that are about a size too big, enough room so I could fit my socks and feet into the shoes, and plus, it helps keep the snow out of your feet. Also good for driving, since it's impossible to drive while you're wearing boots.

For great gloves without having to spend $100+ these ones are my favorite.

Thats not even a "shell", thats just a nylon athletic pant you wear to pick up your prescription from CVS. Any snow pant is going to have a "shell" so to speak, all you need is a base layer and a snow pant. If this is the exact setup you have, then if it works for you, thats fine, but if were giving out suggestions to someone with nothing, i'd just suggest a base layer and an actual snow pant like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Arctix-Essential-Overall-XX-Large-Regular/dp/B0041PT96G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481701869&sr=8-1&keywords=bib+snow+pants

I started with shorts but went to pants after a new set of shin guards was irritating the back of my leg.

I have since started playing with tall wool socks and even though they would be enough to guard against the chaffing, I still wear the pants in addition to the socks.

I will say, I've got smaller legs than just about everybody on the team, so I appreciate the additional layers helping my shin guards fit a little better more than the average player.

u/mq7CQZsbk · 1 pointr/spartanrace

It's a short race. I'm currently planning on CWX insulated tights and two layers of UnderArmour heat cold gear tops along with decent socks, running head band over my ears and my Mountain Biking gloves. I still need to run a few tests in cold weather. My tights won't show up until Monday so I might need something a little heavier.

----

Edit: fix above and adding gear thoughts.

----

Bottoms: I've ordered CW-X Insulator Stabilyx Tights and have UnderArmour Base 2.0 tights as backup

The tops I already have many of and currently thinking this compression crew and this fleece or this sweater if it's really cold

Socks: Thermal Compression Ski Socks (ordered these 5 minutes ago).

I wear these much more affordable jeans and wear insulating base-layers like UnderArmour ColdGear underneath: http://www.amazon.com/Mens-Bikers-Kevlar-Jeans-Motorcycle/dp/B00YHOQM8E/

I break my own rules a bit and tend to leave the armor out of those jeans though I've been meaning to replace with my d3o inserts. Get a few pairs of these so you can cycle through more frequently without worry of stinking them up.

It works great and I've got no problem on 40+ minute rides. For even colder weather I wear a rip-stop ski-type apron or bib to help cut further on wind and insulate even more. http://www.amazon.com/Arctix-Performance-Overalls-Tundra-Visibility/dp/B00KPLEVHW/

u/bay-to-the-apple · 1 pointr/bikecommuting

I use these because they are cheap and efficient waterproof pants. https://www.amazon.com/Helly-Hansen-Mens-Voss-Rain/dp/B003PGRNGK

Think I paid $35 for them. They work well.

u/Boredbarista · 2 pointsr/bicycling

Rain jacket, pants, and booties will make you impervious to rain. Best cheap option is helly hansen. Sure, bicycle specific rain pants are better suited, but they cost >$60.

You should get full fenders. They will keep the spray off your back, and keep your lower legs drier when you aren't in rain pants.

u/hahncholo · 1 pointr/motorcycles

Can't help you with the armored part, I have this: https://www.amazon.com/Helly-Hansen-Mens-Voss-Rain/dp/B003PGRNGK
