If the problem isn't static, there's nothing you can really do, save for wearing a slip. If it's full-body slips (I'm not sure if that's the term) that you don't like, maybe you'd like a half slip? Or maybe slip shorts over your tights would help?

Sorry for the long link. If you get a slip with the horsehair hoop or hoops closer to the bottom you will get a look similar to the picture you have. If you get hoops closer to your waist, it will poof out from up there. Hope that helps

Agreed . I bought the dress linked below in Amazon and received many compliments. I even purchased a petticoat slip to get more flair.

The petticoat I have is sold out, but this one is similar. In terms of it showing, I've seen people do both so I think it's all a matter of preference!

If you want to smooth over the bumps your hips make under a dress, try wearing a slip. Everyone used to, back in the day, and it does all kinds of things to make you look smoother. Very comfortable, too.

My petticoat was from my seamstress, who was Brenda from Amazing Alterations in Anoka, Minnesota.

But all you have to do is put the “real silk” or “genuine silk” or “100% natural silk” into the search bar and use the terms “nightgown” or “chemise” rather than “slip”. A bunch will pop up. I have this particular one in several colors.

Have you tried a slip? It's an undergarment that helps the dress stay put and not cling to a specific body part (in this case, your crotch). Amazon sells them but you can try Sears, JC Penney, etc
