Girl you’ll be surprised what thrift stores have! Found a black sheer kimono, and some super cute fun silky slip dresses from the intimates section! Look for belts/scarfs to accessorize with too! We are so close to the fest that it might be the best chance. Plus when you get something thrifted it’s a good chance nobody is going to have what u are wearing !!

Amazon might have some good last minute ideas for ya. If you search “mesh dress” you can find some cute oversized dresses that’d be cute with a bra/high waisted bottoms

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0796RS53Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_JmdRCbPPT5SBP

They have some cute belts too

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076HJXPWN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_dndRCb0TV88Q5

And if you want more fringe stuff - id suggest paring an outfit with a fringe kimono something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074J5RHV3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_WpdRCb5WZVJS8

Or a skirt like this that you could wrap
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072MDLJ6F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_NqdRCbPXGD687

And it’s Coachella so make it fun and go crazy with your style! Wear prints! Cheetah/Zebra/Snake/Tiger prints are super cute!

And if you don’t wanna spend a lot you can always work with what you have and just add some cool accessories! Like this belt would be perfect to wear with a dress you’ve got to the next level
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F7781T5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_0tdRCbY6G16XT

Just make sure you’re wearing comfy shoes - your outfits can be new and fun and crazy but make sure you’ve got comfy shoes. I usually rock my doc martens that are broken in and hella comfy! Perfect with each outfit!

Hope you find some fun stuff and have a blast!! Xx

I know this isn’t really what you’re asking for in this post, but if you’re looking for bikinis to try on short notice, I’m UK 28GG (US 28J) and bought these two tops from Amazon (links at the bottom). Pretty good coverage and adjustable sizing because tie neck halter and tie back band. They don’t come with bottoms, so if you don’t have any that fit you might have to order some as well.

I bought the 32D cup and it was enough coverage while being adjustable. COCOSHIP Black Solids Women's Ruched... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XTHBWQ7?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Got this one in the large after seeing a review of someone who said they’re 30HH and the XL “fits like a glove”. The large fits me great. Futurino Women's Vintage 50s Plaid Pattern Halter Bikini Top Swimsuits https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0748D3MPD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_j4YLBbCA0NATA

If you have Prime and are interested in getting new bikinis, I highly recommend because you can get them very quickly and return if they don’t work out for you. If you’re interested, I can send you pictures of them (alone or of me in them) tomorrow

Wow. What a nice contest. Thanks so much for doing it.

My "must have" item at the moment is a retro bathing suit that I just found on Amazon today. I simply adore this and would love to have it to wear on the (small but hopeful) chance that I get an opportunity to go up to my cousin's lake house in Maine this summer. But it's fairly pricey with the shipping.

The other item I've been totally craving for a while now is this t-shirt from one of my favorite shows, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It fits me to a t (pun intended). ;D

In addition to being indisputably lower class, I'm also indisputably loud, hence my username. :)

Thanks again for a great contest.

  • All the spray sunscreen. I like the Neutrogena Dry Touch
  • Cute giant straw tote to put all the things in
  • Cute suit - I bought a few cheaply on Amazon lately and was impressed with the quality, selection and value. Here's my favorite.
  • Cover up. I'm partial to longer dresses
  • Sunglasses, natch.
  • Flip-flops. If you're going to be in the sand a lot, get the cheap-o kind and don't worry too much about them being cute.
  • Kindle. If it's sunny this is the best way to read electronically.

Now we kinda need to get into the nitty gritty of what type of beach vacay you're talking about. If you're at a full-service resort vs DIY'ing it, you need different stuff.

    DIY:

  • Beach blanket. I have a kind that rolls up with a strap I can carry on my shoulder.
  • Cooler. For all the drinks and munchies. Roller ones are the best.
  • Beach umbrella. If you're there all day you're gonna want the option of shade at some point.

    Resort:

Theoretically you have things like drinks and chairs and umbrellas already at a resort, so instead we'd round out the list with non-essentials like

  • Giant brimmed hat
  • Resort evening outfit
  • Beach games like paddle ball, floats, Frisbee, etc.
u/teriyakichicken · 1 pointr/askwomenadvice

I've been to Jamaica a couple of times and I'm sure you'll see there are going to be all types of body types wearing bikinis and showing skin on the beach. Not saying you need to wear a bikini, but just saying you won't be the only one rocking love handles and bellies.

I'm a thicker girl and I found this high waisted bikini https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LYZRUPD/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to be SUPER flattering.

As far as things to wear for going out at night.....maybe consider some cute summer dresses? Those tend to be flowy and flattering.

Try not to overthink it too much. Its unlikely anyone will be judging you based on what you're wearing. You'll be on vacation.....try and relax and enjoy yourself!

u/agbishop · 1 pointr/rome

I'm also from the US and my family just got back from our first trip to Italy (we've also been to France & the UK on earlier trips) - here are some random thoughts about Rome/Italy. I'm not an Italian local, and definitely not an expert. But this is what worked for us.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. 99% of the people and places we visited were fabulous and met or exceeded expectations. (One nasty Tourist-Trap-gelato-cashier in Rome is the only reason Italy didn't score a perfect 100% with us).

Apps we ended up using which can be downloaded ahead of time (got these tips from an earlier reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/rome/comments/cam2we/any_recommended_iphone_apps_to_install_before/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x):

  • Google Maps App - Download the regions you're visiting in advance. STAR or SAVE locations that you want to see and add them to Google Lists. Then the good stuff shows-up visually on the map. GREAT for finding out what is near you at a glance. OK for reviews (but preferred TripAdvisor)
  • Google Translate App - Download Italian language in advance
  • FreeNow App (formerly MyTaxi) - For hailing taxis/cars. This also handles payment. Uber costs 2-3 times as much whenever i checked.
  • TripAdvisor app for sites and food reviews (TripAdvisor stickers were everywhere at shops and restaurants) -- Reviews were spot-on for everything except for 1 restaurant in positano that didn't deserve its average rating.) Also Flag (Save?) attractions and restaurants in advance -- makes it easy to see whats nearby. I marked all my must-see attractions in both TripAdvisor and google Maps. Book Reservations in advance if you can, some take resrvations through tripadvisor. Ask your hotel front-desk for help if necessary -- they were able to get us into a restaurant that was full when i called.
  • Yelp app also for sites and food reviews as a backup to TripAdvisor
  • Rick Steves Audio Europe - Download the tours in advance. The audio can be chatty, but it's a great substitute to a paid-tour from a guide. Inside this app, he breaks down the audio tours into sections.
  • DuoLingo - Start taking a crash-course in Italian! Try to get a few lessons under the Basics and Phrases category. Locals appreciate your efforts to try your Italian. 80% of the places we visited had english speakers...and we did fine at the places that did not.

Rome was experiencing a heat-wave while we were there (95+ degrees daytime), so we used FreeNow (formerly MyTaxi) app to grab taxi rides in the daytime to get some AC and a break from walking (we did TONS of walking in the museums and outdoor locations). Rides were typically 7-10 euros everywhere we wanted to go (Vatican was more b/c it was farther). I have a family of 4, so the price difference between a taxi vs metro isn't as far apart. I think I read the FreeNow taxi meter starts as soon as you agree to a particular driver for pick-up. This was not a big issue where we were because they were usually only 1-5 minutes away.

If it wasn't so hot, walking to most sites is do-able since many famous locations are in clusters. In evenings when there was more shade, we walked most places.

I was also worried about lines, so we did book a skip-the-line Underground Colosseum/Arena/Upper tour, and also a skip-the-line Vatican/SistineChapel/StPetersBasilica tour. You pay more, but both were worth it in my opinion for a worry-free tour.

Note -- The CityWonders tour we booked for the Colosseum actually used the COOPCULTURE guides while in the colosseum. So you could save a lot of money by buying directly and getting the identical tour for the colosseum portion -- BUT, they were sold out on the dates we needed, so we needed to pick CityWonders to be sure to get the date/time we wanted for our schedule. https://www.coopculture.it/en/colosseo-e-shop.cfm

But don't overbook tours! I like to do no more than 1 per day. You're on vacation -- so you don't want to be always rushing to hit a specific time. Relax...enjoy.... Leave time to explore.

AC - Many museums are NOT air conditioned or only partially air conditioned. So bring a folding fan, wear a hat when in the sun, and stay hydrated!

Churches - There is a "rule" that you must be respectful and cover shoulders & knees (articles say its for men & women). I definitely saw women turned away for not covering their shoulders. The knee-rule was not consistently enforced, I saw a lot of guys in shorts visiting churches. Easy solution -- if your wife likes strapped or strapless tops, just bring a scarf to cover her shoulders while inside. Some churches even had scarfs for unprepared tourists. My wife and daughters packed kimono-style beach cover-ups, and they had no trouble entering every church we wanted to visit. Like this: (they are different sizes, so pick the style and size that will cover your knees) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C9F7CT3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Water - If its hot, you need water. There are LOTS of free flowing water fountains around Rome sites. Our tour guide said they are safe to drink, and you'll see many locals and tourists filling up. So plan to bring a container for water. (update - I learned they are called Nasone. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nasone) And if you want an extra level of protection, order one of those Lifestraw filtered drinking bottles. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G7SQBPQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

About Cash -- Cash is more necessary in Rome than the US in my opinion. So find out what ATM system works with your bank in advance, and just plan to get some money that way. (ex: Bank of America uses BNL ATMs in Italy which were easy to find).

Two things to be aware of, but should not affect your trip...

About Trash - NPR ran a story about Rome having a trash problems. We didn't see any trash problems while we were there. No bad smells or crisis that I could see. IMHO, it's similar to what you find in Washington DC or NYC. (https://www.npr.org/2019/07/18/742218800/in-rome-uncollected-trash-festers-in-scorching-heat)

Terrorism - My wife noticed italy is at a Level 2 terrorist threat (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/italy-travel-advisory.html). And we saw (hired?) soldiers everywhere with semi-automatic weapons. It's noticeable the first time you see them, but then it just disappears into the background. We never felt unsafe. Just use the same caution you'd apply to any major tourist city and you'll be fine.

    Have a wonderful trip!

Updates - fixed some grammar (brain is jet-lagged), and added more links.
u/newaxies · 11 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I tell people all the time about this bathing suit but that's because it's awesome. http://www.amazon.com/Esther-Williams-Womens-Piece-Swimsuit/dp/B00DUFSIGA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418219588&sr=8-1&keywords=esther+williams+swimsuit

It's adorable and still sexy without being revealing, I get tons of compliments on it. But it definitely makes you feel covered up and more comfortable, I feel much less self conscious wearing it around. It's weird sizing though, you'll probably need a bigger size than you think you do, I would guess a 6. I usually wear around a 4 and I have an 8 and a 10 that fit.

u/fancyschmancypantsy · 6 pointsr/weddingplanning

Omg so many things. I went way overboard but a few of my absolute favorites...

Place cards for our rehearsal dinner and head table (OBSESSED with both of these!!)

Table numbers (as you can tell, we had a sea glass theme going)

earrings for the bridesmaids (these were a bit of a splurge but PERFECT and so beautiful and matched our color scheme/bridesmaids dresses PERFECTLY)

card for my groom, parents, bridesmaids, etc.

hangers for myself and bridesmaids - these turned out beautiful; loved the laser engraving

tshirt/tank combo for the day after brunch (usually these are apparently for bachelorette parties, but they were a huge hit for a married duo!)

guest book alternative (we framed our invitations, but may swap out for a wedding photo in the future)

honeymoon bathing suit from Amazon

Bridesmaids gifts (proposal/bachelorette/day of/etc.): circle towel, makeup organizers, travel mugs

u/lilmissRoja · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Omg, this looks like SO much fun! I'd love to help somehow! Amazon shopping it is!

Flower crowns:

Red flower crown

Purple flower crown

Smaller flower crown

Pink flower crown

You could also hit up a local flower shop, or maybe if a relative/friend would let you pick some flowers from their garden, you could make a braid crown in your hair, leave some hair tendrils down for the ethereal effect, and just weave the real flowers (and maybe some lacy ribbons?) into your hair.

Clothing: I get the really flowy vibe here, so I'm thinking some kind of kimono/shawl/duster would be perfect to go with your theme.

This shawl would be really pretty

This shawl would also be really pretty

This Sarong would be really pretty too

Shoes similar to this would be perfect I think! If you have any discount shoe stores near you, like the ones in the mall, you might be able to catch them on discount around this time. If you don't want to splurge on shoes, you could easily turn a pair of your sandals into a shoes like this by just tying some similar colored ribbon in a criss-cross pattern around your ankle and up your leg.

I also feel something like This would be super cute, especially if you didn't want to wear clothing that shows a lot of skin.

Not sure how comfortable you are with revealing items, but I really feel like the bra from This set Or the black version might be better
would really compliment the look you are going for. Maybe wear some nipple covers, or a nude bra under to hide things, cover it up a bit with a sheer shawl, and maybe a sarong or some shorts on the bottom?

Maaan, if you lived closer I'd totally let you raid my closet! You could probably find most of what you need!

I'm not familiar with other plunges, but I am a big fan of Freya plunge bikinis. I also wear Marcie sister cuts. I'd say the width and fullness are pretty similar.

I did a search and found the cheapest ones in 30E and 28F, although I can't determine whether you like any of these patterns haha.

This is the cheapest I found, and this is in a 30E (the site uses US sizing, so it'll show up as 30DDD/F). The awesome thing is that ASOS has free shipping and returns.

Here's another 30E plunge, although this one does have shipping.

That's really all I could find under $30 in your size. I also found a 28F, but it's $42.

If you're thinking of looking into Freya halters as t_maia suggested, the options under $30 are a little better. I didn't do a thorough search of halters, but I did findthis

u/jewelrider · 8 pointsr/AskWomen

A better bathing suit top.

I have large breasts and I have to choose pretty carefully what I wear when I'm planning on doing a lot of swimming.

I have the best luck with bathing suit tops that fit more like this (tankini)

Or something more fitted and secure such as this top. They typically have better sizing if you buy a bathing suit from a store that caters to women with larger breasts.

u/swalker09 · 3 pointsr/parentsofmultiples

High waisted two pieces 100%!!!! They are SO cute and flattering. I loved them before I got pregnant and am absolutely planning on getting more of them after the babies come because of how low my stretch marks are and where the section scar will be. I feel my most confident when I’m not worrying about my flab hanging out so the tummy control on the high waisted suits really makes me feel cute and comfortable.

I already have this one from amazon and LOVE it.

u/fishy_chrissy · 1 pointr/ABraThatFits

i just got a fantasia bra top from Amazon that I'm quite pleased with! i'm still working on finding a great bra (I'm new on here), but I'm finding some good fits at a 34FF/32G. I ordered this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JHCVY3W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and am v happy bc it feels supportive and nicely shaped with really minimal padding.

i ordered a bunch of stuff through ASOS, and found the sizes to be pretty variable (and ended up sending everything back). If you're ordering from a brand you haven't tried before, maybe get more than one size to try on.

u/rileybee · 2 pointsr/asktransgender

The biggest things that come to mind are some comfortable every day panties and a nice bralette. I picked up a pack of something like this in the early days and I still enjoy wearing them. If you want to get something matching, a CK set like this is really nice, and their cotton stuff is really really soft!!

Something else would be a starter makeup kit to experiment. You could follow along to YT makeup tutorial videos.

And finally I'd get one semi-conservative outfit, maybe some cute jeans and a sweater or something. Something that you might be comfortable leaving the house in at some point in the future. Also some women's sneakers, socks, and hair/skin care products.

u/SacramentoCuckold · 3 pointsr/hopelesssofrantic

That's pretty amazing. The zipper on the bottoms is very cool.

I feel like it'd look really fun on my wife as well. Would you mind sharing a purchase link?

edit: Nevermind! I sorted it out. It's available here & here, if anyone else is interested :)

u/cenesontpasunenom · 3 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I have this one in a different colourway, and it's pretty much the most perfect one piece ever! I've always had to wear a bikini because I have a long torso, so one-pieces always cut the cake and drag my boobs down. Very flattering.

But this suit looks so cute on - I fell in love with it instantly! It's fully lined so you get a good fit through the waist, the bottom is full coverage and very comfortable, the skirt is attached to the suit body so you never have that thing happen where the whole outer suit floats up and drifts on top of the water (especially in hot tubs) and the built-in support actually works!
