Top Reddit comments about Women's Rash Guard Shirts:

I've only been diving in warm water, however, I feel you on the big boob problem. I've used an aqualung and it worked really well :) I also recommend getting a surf shirt, you can get them from amazon as a good base layer the one I use. The surf shirts add a great layer of protection and is relatively cheap! Good luck :)

Amazon! I'd been trying to find one for years, but most of them are pretty ugly (or like $100+) so I was really happy when I found it. If you end up getting one, just make sure to order using the measurements chart bc it's sized using asian sizing. Totally recommend it tho!

they make workout bikini tops, basically sports bras that don't stretch out or disentegrate in chlorine which essentially binds everything up a bit (i don't currently need all that much). Thinking this or this one currently. I've always had an infatuation for competition suits as I've been on swim teams and life-guarded throughout my younger life before figuring out the trans stuff, and I love the sporty look to them.

And rashguard is basically a swim shirt generally popular with surfers so it's almost a socially acceptable way to wear a shirt in the water without having any obvious reason to feel self conscious. They come both tight and loose, though at some point in the future I'd much rather feel more comfortable in this ;-p

I don't think you're going to find any swim shirts with built in support.
There are some cute surf shirts and triathlon shirts that might be good, and you could pair it with a swim skirt.

Here are a few options I found for tops:

I've used a rash guard in the past, just a cheap one from Amazon. They make them in long-sleeve style if you'd like to have your arms covered. Size up if you want it looser, though if it's too loose it will flap around when you swim and that can be distracting.

I also found knee-length women's swim shorts with a built-in panty that worked really good, as I was very self-conscious about my thighs.

I'm of the opinion that you should wear whatever you're comfortable in. If you want to be covered up, cool! If you want to wear something with less coverage, great! You should be doing this for you, so pbbt if anybody else has something to say about it.

Additionally you may look into buying a sun shirt. They come in all kinds of colors and you can get long, elbow-length or short sleeves depending on your preference. Plus they double as an excellent sunblock so you won't get burned across your shoulders or stomach.

Good luck!

Where do you live?

If you are able to shop at Sam's Club, you might be able to get a swimsuit for under $30. It's not a perfect fit because of my bra size, but I have a suit like this one in the first style that's very comfortable.

I don't know if this sort of style would work for you, but if you (or someone you know) live by a Sam's Club and have a membership it might be worth a try. If not, "Tankinis" like this tend to have more coverage than bikinis, so it's something to look out for.

Yo could also look into rashguard shirts to wear over the swimsuit of your choice. You could wear a looser one over a swimsuit, or you can wear a more form-fitting one as a swim top (especially if you don't need to worry about support) paired with bottoms of your choice. But I don't know if a $20+ rashguard plus buying separate bottoms/another swimsuit would be too expensive.

I bought this because I hate sunscreen: https://www.amazon.com/ILISHOP-Womens-Protection-Long-Sleeve-Guards/dp/B010P97CLK/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_sims?ie=UTF8&th=1

Most UV shirts are kind of ugly/frumpy IMO but this one you can zip the chest open (make sure to put SPF there!) and the ruching/ties on the side are adorable!

That depends how much skin you want to show, and what style you're going for.

For tops, there are lots of options. The sports bra type look, which shows your belly but not much chest. There's a cropped rash guard which covers even more chest but still shows the belly. Then you've got the bikini that shows the most of everything, or the tankini, which covers the belly but is low cut at the top like a bikini. There's an even longer version of tankinis now called a swim dress that I think is cute. I love this long sleeved, belly-showing rash guard too.

Now, if you don't want to show a lot of skin there's a short sleeved rash guard, or long sleeved rash guard that all cover the belly and chest completely. They have all kinds of colors of these things.

For the bottoms, there are always plain old board shorts for everyone. There are shorter ones too. There are tons of colors and lengths for those.

You could wear a bikini bottom by itself or under your board shorts. There are a zillion colors and styles of those. There are swim boxer briefs that you can wear alone or under shorts too. If you want the bikini look but are concerned about the shape of your genitals, there are plenty of bottoms in the men's clothing section that look fantastic and would be easy to match to a bikini or tankini top.

I can't speak to the quality, but there are some very inexpensive rashguards on Amazon with very favorable reviews (this one for example). I'm waffling between one of those and the $$$ Garnet Hill one that I actually want. :T

I just got a rash guard for a vacation and I thought it was really cute and gave my butt a lot more coverage than other suits I have. I got a cute print that zips in the back. I thought it would look stupid but I actually really loved it, especially when I look through the pictures.

I'm also a non-Muslim who wears modest swimwear. I actually got mine off of Amazon from the company Ababalaya.

They have lots of styles but this is the kind I have enjoyed the most: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076LW5C8S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I will admit I own the same pop up shade, and I pair it with my long sleeve swim top. I'm long past giving an eff what other people think. I burn too easily for that.

u/EspressoPatronum82 · 5 pointsr/AsianBeauty

I got a kanu long sleeve shirt that's meant for surfing I believe. Has a UPF of 50. Recently tried it out while at the beach all day, worked amazing and not uncomfortable. Dries freakishly fast too.
