I really, really want a second gen Nest Protect smoke alarm. Kind of pricey but you get what you pay for in a good way! It's the best selling smoke alarm on Amazon. The company makes really good advanced products. They have dual sensors and a carbon monoxide alarm. No other alarm has that. They interconnect with each other wirelessly, and talk to give you information. They alert your phone and have different color alerts, and more. (Actually, I really want 3 of these, but 1 would be a good start. What we have are so old and crappy that I don't trust them at all. They are the $10 kind, and I should have replaced them at least 3 years ago.) I think this is what people need to be safe.

I also want this professional stainless steel mandoline badly, either one of the versions available, because it's built tougher than the others that have plastic parts. The reviews are so good, and I think it would outlast two of the others, and be easier to use, so it would be very worth it. A lot of the others don't cut as evenly or are difficult to hold and move the fruit or vegetable. I want this for making healthy homemade snacks.

I really need the Levo Deluxe holder for tablets so I can see and use my ereader and old tablet while I'm flat on my back. I'm planning ahead and trying to get the items that will help during recovery from surgery and I won't be able to prop up my head or use the laptop or TV. It's a bit expensive, but this is the second generation one that works better. This holder seems better than all the other ones I've seen because this can suspend the tablet facing down from above. This can also be great for mounting the tablet when you're sitting on the couch or bed, or at a desk, like pictured, so I would use it regularly. (The non-deluxe version is $54.99 on Amazon. They also have a version that stands on the floor instead of clamping on a table.)

I also would be so happy to have the pink vibrator from my NSFW list. I am not linking to it because of it being NSFW. It came out last year and won an award for the unique motion it has. It has some great reviews, and I would love to try it. I think most women should try toys like this one, even if you're currently happy, maybe this would be better!

Another thing that would be extremely cool and useful to have is a portable scanner that is really light and small. Any that's good, but I have put this color mobile document scanner on my wishlist. It has better reviews than the Epson and it's currently cheaper because a seller has refurbished ones available. It's quick and has such good reviews. This will help prevent things from getting lost and cluttered when we are out of town or just out in the car. I think these are going to sell out before you get a chance to decide because Amazon is ranking it number one for mobile scanners. A few minutes ago, the seller had 3 left, and now they have 2 left. But it says "more on the way" so hopefully these can be backordered or gotten later.

Honestly the most easiest and convenient way is to get a new table, preferably one thats L shaped. But i understand money doesnt grow on trees so i wouldnt recommend that.

How do you charge your fitness tracker?

• If you have alot or few usb chargers for your fitness tracker and Pixel, maybe you have some more stuff. You can always buy a cheap USB hub. Those are very small and maybe you can place it on your desk, between your two monitors bases? And when you have to charge your stuff, when charging just place the item on top of the actual USB hub?
  
  
• As for the headset, its never easy to hide the headset cable as its quite long and goes across the table etc. Theres not much you can do about that one. However, when not using it, you can place it around your right speaker or buy a cheap headset stand that you can place just behind your speaker if it fits? Also if you are looking to buy a new one, alot of premium headsets come with a stand right out of the box with the actual headset itself.
  
  
• For cable management underneath the table, heres where the mighty IKEA comes in hand. You can pick up a sleeve or whatever you want to call it and mount it underneath your table, having all of your cables running through it, making it look very tidy. You can also place your powerstrip on it. I will drop a link for that one at the bottom.
  
  
• Yes. Move your pc and place it underneath your table to the right, next to the drawer. It will free up space on the drawer, maybe thats where you can place your headset stand?

Or if you are really smart and if the cables are black, you can use some tape, but i would recommend a zip tipe and tie the cables on the actual far left leg upwards and finally throught the cable sleeve.

• Me being me. If you dont have a place for your Xbox controller or just want it on the table. You can place it between the monitors bases, next to your future USB hub or on of the screens actual base. I think it makes it look more pretty.
  
  
• For all your small stuff thats on your table, like your keys and what not. Go ahead and just place them in your drawer or on top of the drawer once your pc is underneath your table. Maybe you can charge your fitness tracker and Pixel on top of the drawer? I think that would be great.

CPU is non overclockable but you could get the K edition and upgrade to a Z97 motherboard if you want to overclock.

Solid State drive for your OS and a few of your favorite games. This will make sure load times are as short as possible. A 1TB HDD for whatever you want to store.

Video card is great.

Went for a small case so you can tuck it away in a corner somewhere.

Power Supply is gold certified so it isn't a huge electricity waster (importance will be obvious in a second).

This is a more premium option, but definitely worth it. I’ve got it clamped to my nightstand and it stores up perfectly when I’m not playing. I’ve got it all wired up and play 95% of the time in bed with this setup.

Thanks, that one looks awesome and definitely more useable on strange surfaces, but at around $30 all-in, that's an expensive stand.

I had one of those gooseneck mounts but they were terrible. Hard to adjust and super wobbly. This is not 100% stiff but works very well for the purpose. I like having it right at hand.

I have a 13HD on a home-made VESA adapter connected to an Ergotron Arm and really like the setup.

If you are talking a tabletop stand, and are okay with just landscape orientation you can use:

• $25 Kensington SmartFit Easy Riser Laptop Cooling Stand. It's cheap and lightweight but it works. I've used it. It has a little more flex than I'd like but not bad.
  
• $50 Wacom's own stand for the Cintiq 13HD. Haven't used it.
  
• $70 Elevation Lab DraftTable Kit For iPad Pro. I used this with both an iPad Pro and the 13HD for a bit. It's a little small for the 13HD but is very heavy, stable and steady.

Those sites listed are either sketchy or selling an older version of the tablet. The older version is actually really great and you can get it at a good price (and from a legit retailer) from amazon. and a dock as well. You'd probably save $200 or so getting this version (the tf300) instead of the tf700 infinity tablet

Reddit liked my last battlestation, so I decided to post my new, more portable solution.

My new battlestation was made under slightly more constraints. Everything I own fits into a single suitcase, as I moved to a New York City for work. When I got here, I found that my two laptops made a very unergonomic and uncomfortable workstation. TO remedy that problem, I sourced a few parts of Amazon.

I bought a stand for my tablet, two laptop stands meant for DJs, a wireless mouse and keyboard and a kneeling chair. Everything breaks down and fits into my suitcases except for the chair, which I would probably leave behind if I am forced to move again.

The tablet is used as a TV. I use it to watch documentaries, shows streamed from youtube, hulu, netflix or thepiratebay. The internal speakers on the tablet are a bit quiet, so I have them streaming to a Logitech UE Boom Mini. I've owned the two laptops since starting university - a Lenovo x200, and a x201 I bought a few years later to replace the x200 when it stopped detecting a battery. They're both pretty old now, but the x201 still manages to play league of legends (barely). The x200 (right) is hooked up to a set of Steelseries Siberia v3 headphones that I use for skype, or music / shows when my roommates are watching something else on the big TV, or are having loud sex. A small and surprisingly weak fan is constantly plugged in and does do a bit to keep me cool. I'll have to revisit the cooling solution when summer hits again.

I've considered upgrading the laptops, but then I figured I shouldn't be spending a lot of time inside gaming anyways. Instead, I bought a new snowboard for the upcoming season.

wacom makes a vesa mount for the pro 24. its 79 dollars or so usd. You can also get wacoms ergotron arm kit that is designed to hold the extra weight. it is 379 usd. it comes with the arm and the vesa mount. the arm was designed to also hold the weight of the wacom cintiq 32 so its a pretty strong arm. You can use your own arm with the 69 dollar vesa mount but it will bounce / wiggle more than wacoms custom ergotron arm.

also just a tip. if you use either kit make sure you put the back cover back on BEFORE you bolt on the vesa mount. its pretty hard to get the back cover to properly snap on AFTER you bolted onthe vesa mount.

Really loving this stand for my 13" I purchased it as a cheaper alternative and it's pretty fantastic! Solid build metal and feels sturdy to work on.

I have a Thrive. We're still waiting for ICS. Toshiba originally stated that the update would come out by the end of Spring. End of Spring gets here, Toshiba says the update will be out in early fall. In the end, fuck Toshiba. I have little bad to say about the hardware in their tablets, but their support is abysmal.

If you're willing to pluck down $500 for a tablet, get a ASUS TF 300 and the docking station. ASUS stands by, supports, and upgrades their products. Plus it has a developer support community.

The stand that the SP4 is in is this stand from Amazon. I really like how sturdy it is, and it wasn't expensive.

The other stand is this basic tablet stand from Amazon that I use for my iPad mini, which I take to school and work and take all my class notes on that.

I was looking into some of the stands that may be helpful.

This stand works really well for me- I am able to slide the "feet" between the mattress & box spring, then it can adjust if I want the iPad in front of me or above. I have also used this stand while seated at the couch.

I would invest in a case or a stand. I just have a standard case with only one option for landscape mode and it’s fine. But I usually keep my iPad on the nightstand. I also have this stand

And the Mac is extremely durable. The only reason mine needed repairs was because I was drunk and dumb which doesn’t pair well with hot chocolate but even then, my Apple care took care of it. When I had a windows I was buying a new one every year and don’t even get me started on the viruses and the updates. I don’t know if updates are still a problem with windows but I got a Mac back when the problem was at its height and I’m so glad I did

I'm looking forward to seeing the final product. Maybe a square base would take up a little less desk space than the current hexagonal design.
