what type of thermometer/hygrometer are you using, analog or digital? where exactly are you measuring the temperature? on the wall? on top of the substrate? on the floor beneath the substrate? a UTH that is not regulated by a thermostat will run somewhere between 100 and 200 F. you need a thermostat, like this. the probe can be sandwiched between the UTH and the outside of the enclosure, or it can be placed inside the enclosure secured to the floor by hot gluing the probe to the floor. you should have an infrared thermometer, like this, to accurately spot-check the temperature anywhere in the enclosure, which will help ensure your thermostat is on the right setting to maintain a floor temperature of 90 F. if your cool/ambient temperature is below 75 F [with 80 F being the ideal] you'll need some sort of supplemental heat source like a second UTH run on its own thermostat, a radiant heat panel, or a ceramic heat emitter.

glass tanks are not great enclosures for ball pythons. the glass doesn't retain heat, and the screen lid allows too much air flow to retain any humidity. glass tanks can work, but it's an uphill battle of modification, monitoring, and maintenance. plastic storage tubs or pvc reptile cages are much more suitable for BPs. plastic is a much better insulator for heat, and the minimal air flow means you should be able to maintain 50%+ humidity with no special efforts. substrates like aspen are very dry and will contribute to low humidity, though, so you may want to switch to something more moisture friendly like cypress mulch. going backto enclosure types, i personally have one BP in a 74qt sterilite underbed tub secured with a pair of luggage straps, and my other two are in pvc cages from boaphile plastics. tubs aren't pretty, but they're cheap and effective. pvc cages are nice to look at, but they cost somewhere between $150 and $350 depending on which manufacturer you buy from and what size you get.

even without knowing how much your BP weighs, i can tell you that you're severely underfeeding her. a hatchling BP is capable of eating prey the size of an adult mouse. at two years old, she should be big enough to eat small or medium rats. get a digital kitchen scale to weigh her. right now, while she's growing, she should be eating approximately 15% of her own weight, though you'll want to build up to that gradually so you don't shock her system. you'll also want to switch to appropriately sized rats ASAP, because feeding several mice per meal is impractical at best and just not going to happen at worst. on rare occasions, a BP will just take a rat with no hesitation, but in most cases they won't eat it because they don't recognize it as food. i wrote a simple breakdown of how to switch a BP from mice to rats here. you won't find rats that are smaller than small adults in places like petco, petsmart, etc, so you may need to find a different rodent supplier if she's not ready for smalls yet.

your hides are inadequate. there should be two, one for the warm side and one for the cool side, that are snug [little/no empty space around the snake], enclosed [one entrance, snake is actually hidden], and identical [except for temperature]. this is VERY important to fix. your snake needs to be able to feel secure and be able to thermoregulate comfortably. hides like this are ideal. half logs are not appropriate.

regarding your snake biting you: she's immensely stressed. everything from your poor enclosure, being underfed, being moved to a feeding tub, all of these things are contributing to her being stressed, scared, and defensive. right now, you need to forget about handling her unless you're taking her out to weigh her. she should be fed inside the enclosure, and she should not be handled at all for your own pleasure until she is 100% healthy.

u/emertonom · 1 pointr/GoogleCardboard

I got the same viewer, but there's no fix for it with custom codes. Spacers don't work either. The problem is that the lenses are terrible.

I ordered replacement lenses for it, and they're a vast improvement. I wound up ordering two sets. Both are about equally good; one is much cheaper, but takes much longer to ship.

Oops! The cheaper one no longer seems to be available. It was made by "TOOPOOT," and was a 37mm x 45mm lens. TOOPOOT now seems to make their own Cardboard viewers, so maybe they've decided that's a better solution.

More expensive, but available with Prime shipping: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B012HYF4A2/

These are specifically suited to the Minkanak, as it's got larger-diameter lenses than other Cardboard v2 viewers.

I've since upgraded to a BoboVR Z4, though, which I find much better in most respects. The lenses are quite good out of the box, and the IPD and focal adjustments are a great addition--I can use it without my glasses, and I'm quite nearsighted (-7 in one eye, -5.5 in the other).

For what it's worth, this is the best profile I was able to generate for the original lenses before giving up. It's got major and irreducible bulging.

That's so funny I just saw one of these or the first time yesterday at the Verizon store. I was going to hold out for a Pebble due to better daylight visibility from the e-ink display but if you can hack an app drawer onto there I might have to grab either this or the SONY Android watch and have some fun.

EDIT: As he says in the video this retails for $249 in Verizon stores and probably places like Best Buy but it looks like Amazon has it for $140 for the 8GB and $180 for the 16GB. Both come with the wrist strap which I saw sold separately in the store for $29.99. They also have the SONY Android watch for $114 which comes with Google Play already on it and may not need rooting to get a scorecard app onto.

Gotcha. Well, I really really love my huawei rose gold watch this is the one I have https://www.amazon.com/Huawei-Plated-Stainless-Leather-Warranty/dp/B01DBAUXA2?th=1. I absolutely love it. I love the fitness program and being able to track it. I can see and respond to emails, facebook messages, and text messages. Don't know if this helps any but I was a pebble user than I switch to this watch and I really love it. And maybe alternative would be https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Gear-S2-Smartwatch-Classic/dp/B01AJC66CO/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1502399951&sr=1-1&keywords=samsung+rose+gold but only if she has a samsung phone that might be an option too.

Honestly, I'm not all too familiar with formatting on Reddit yet. I though I did use paragraphs. Sorry about that. Anyway.... I agree with you that, if you were scratching your device often (like weekly), it would suck to have to replace the screen protector that frequently. But in my experience (4 smartphones in the past 6 years, approximately), I've scratched my devices between 0 and 2 times each. If I didn't have a screen protector on them, the resale value would have been greatly impacted. I know money is of little concern to you, but you need to realize that for most people it is. Like I've said before, I don't buy items for the sole purpose of displaying my wealth to others. If I go through 3 or 4 screen protectors on my Moto 360 throughout the time I own it, it will cost me less than $10 total, and with the protectors I found, I cannot even tell they are there by look or feel. iLLumiShield

Why would a watch need protection in storage, but not need protection during every day use? That's backwards. There's a much higher chance it will be damaged while being worn, out and about, then when it's sitting in a closet or storage compartment. This is probably going to sound strange to you, but most people expect more from a $10,000 watch! Maybe we need to buy the $20,000 watch, and that one will NOT need a protector in storage LOL!

FYI it looks like there are screen protectors for Omega watches! Granted, they are not OEM, but why would a company produce them with no market demand? Omega Watch Screen Protectors

The Omega Constellation range are much nicer than the Rolex Datejust range but both are insanely expensive.

The Tissot T-Classic sounds more like what your girlfriend would like, and is only slightly above your budget

Description: Brand New In Box 38mm Series 3 Apple Watch. It has a silver case and comes with the white sports band. This watch is the model that has GPS functionality. The plastic on the box hasn't even been opened. I acquired this watch as a reward from my employer but I have no interest in owning a smart watch, so I immediately put it on the shelf so I could raffle it later.

Update: Sorry, I won't be able to run the raffle today due to some Thanksgiving related issues. I will instead run it on Saturday at 12pm MT, 2pm ET. I will tag you guys for that thread unless you'd like me not to, just PM me.

u/Meepzors · 2 pointsr/fitbit

Metal bands might work: I'm almost positive that solves the bubbling issue right off the bat.

But I would think you'd want to avoid playing basketball with a metal band, so...

If you don't want a metal band (and want to stick to rubber), then this is my favorite. It looks a bit weird (it doesn't actually use the band connectors: it's just a rubber "pocket" that holds your fitbit). However, it feels relatively secure and comfortable. Also I doubt these bands will ever bubble, considering there isn't any glue anywhere in the band.

If you're looking for something in between, one of my favorite bands that I used to wear was actually made up of two parts: a metal connector that I scavenged from an old (fully metal, with watch-links) band, and a regular (20mm, I think) braided nylon watch strap. Incredibly lightweight. However, this is kind of a gamble because you never know what kind of pins aftermarket fitbit bands actually use, so it's best to tread carefully.

The other comments are all about gaming. If you just want a cool piece of tech, and your son is into music, these might be cool. I can't vouch for quality as I don't own them, but Bose is a pretty reputable brand. And eye safety! Two birds with one stone

> I like this. It matched up very closely to my experience.

Thanks! That's awesome!

> It passed the test. http://reviewmeta.com/amazon/B00G9N3I7O

Technically it didn't pass; it got a "warn". There's 3 levels - pass, warn, fail. 3.2 stars is a pretty low rating, and since the ReviewMeta adjusted score stays at a 3.2 stars, it means that Amazon already did a pretty decent job of weighing the reviews to account for the unnatural reviews.

It's not always black and white, and often times we'll see products that have several fakes, but then a lot of honest reviews, and it doesn't makes sense to "fail" the entire product, especially if the rating is already pretty low.

I've bumped up the priority of the "full report" on this item to see if that changes anything. The reports that are generated on-the-fly in about 60 seconds aren't quite as perfect as the ones that take a few hours, so check that report again in a few hours and we'll see some more details about the reviews.

u/Animate_XOR · 3 pointsr/FidgetSpinners

I picked this guy up last week at that price point and it's honestly fantastic. The grooves are starting to patina a little bit but keeping it in your pocket a little bit when you aren't using it is enough to keep it at a near-mirror finish. With fresh bearings you can get 8+ minute spins easily but that quickly averages out to 6 minutes after a few days of use and some schmoo has worked its way into them.

I'd actually recommend the ASUS Zenwatch 1st gen found here:

I bought one used about a year ago, and I still love it. it's thin on your wrist, the stock band is incredible, and it already has Android 6.0.1. Used look like they go for about $90.

If you have a Samsung android phone, then the Gear 2 Fit is pretty neat. Full notifications in a slim package (unlike a Fitbit that just tells you calls and SMS!), and a battery life measured in days. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FDPW3B0

But yeah, that restriction of having an Android phone, and specifically a Samsung android phone, is a tough one.

u/streptococci · 2 pointsr/BabyBumps

Even if you aren't coherent right now when you first wake up, having a baby really does change things for most people. I used to flail around and throw covers all over the place, but now I sleep nearly motionless and the covers are always untouched when my son is laying in the bed next to me. If you or your husband are paranoid, get something like this. I have one and it definitely provides peace of mind.

Amazon is slowly reducing the prices for all the models, sold by Pebble AFAIK.
I'm waiting for the Slver PTR to drop prices, and so far it's gone from U$169 to U$149. Still going to wait some more, but It's a pretty big deal for its rarity here in Brazil.

Ugh unexpected car expenses are the wooooorst. I'm so sorry :-( There are 2 other versions of the Snuza that are cheaper. Instead of vibrating after 15 seconds and beeping after 20, there's an $80 version where you can set it to beep after 15, 18, or 20 seconds; and a $67 version that beeps after 15 seconds.

I know it's expensive but the peace of mind it gives is so worth it!

I was able to add it to my Amazon cart for $195 and then pre-order it by using the Google cache. I Googled the model number I was interested in, then selected the cached version, then added it to my cart, then checked out from the real Amazon. I received a confirmation email, so it seems to have worked. honestly, i think it's some random cancelled project from fossil. it was listed on amazon as early as june 10 and was then supposed to be available september 7, except here we are. i've looked through several listings and not one says anything about wear os. they all say it's a hybrid powered by the fossil smartwatches app like all of their hybrids. don't think this is diana.

Unfortunately it looks like the sony watch is the closest to that currently but based on what I've read on the internet it is so-so at best, unreliable and glitchy at worst just because the firmware and everything else is underdeveloped. Here is the link if you were interested though: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MN2SW-SmartWatch-Android-Phones/dp/B007VG6ZC8/ref=sr_1_4?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1374128426&sr=1-4

Even then, you still have to show one arrives at 600g for the complete headset.

The lenses? LOL! 9 grams, Baby! (Source.)

So now we're at 308g. 162g LIGHTER than the Vive headset without cables attached!

XD !!

It's actually kind of crazy to find somebody so similar to me. I thought intrusive thoughts were something everybody got all the time, but I guess not. (I think Reddit made me think this, lol)

I had always have intrusive thoughts like "I could easily push that guy in front of the train, he'd have no chance" or "those parents aren't paying attention, I could grab that toddler and be gone before they had any idea". Of course I would NEVER act on these, and I think that's the difference between "normal" intrusive thoughts, and a crazy person. At least I hope it is, haha.

And yah, with my mom. Man, every picture I take I think it might be last. Every time I say goodbye.. Last night on the way home from her house I literally started crying because I thought "what if I never see her again?".

Again, I tend to think these sorts of thought are normal, especially after having my first baby. I'm hyper aware of how much I need her help, and how much I want her to know my future babies. Also, her mom, my grandma, died at age 69, and my mom had an "episode" a few years ago akin to a stroke. She's on meds now but if ever she doesn't answer her phone I panicked and call her husband, check her Facebook. It's so dumb.

I think with the new baby, it's just that I have never loved anything so much, so I'm so paranoid. It's interesting to know Post Partum OCD is a thing though. I intend to read more about mitigating that over the weekend. Meanwhile, I would totally recommend the Levana/Snuza baby monitor or something similar. It beeps with every movement (i.e. Breath, when they're sleeping). I got so much more sleep after I got this. Best money I ever spent. It says not to use it in the car, but I did anyway, just knowing there might be extra beeps from the movement of the car. That way I was able to stop pulling over to check breathing.

If you ever just want to talk, let me know!

Samsung's latest Gear Fit 2 (http://amzn.to/28ZyEUk) has a curved screen. However, not sure if you noticed, Panos' Band also appears to have a pop-out screen. Looks like you might be able to swap straps.

I'm a broke college student as well, this is as good and cheap as you'll find I believe. Works well for me with my "medium" zoo med mat in a 20 gallon

I tried a one-drop 10 ball and an NSK ds plat in there as well; neither come close to the 6 seconds shy of 8 mins I can hit. That was with a pretty average "strong" spin on the table.

I recommend you to check out Amazon US. I live in Istanbul and bought a Pebble Time Steel Gold for $87+shipping a couple of days ago. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011VB1X6Q

Hardshell travel cases. Some are even made specifically for the Vive with foam cutouts and all that. I just found 2 on Amazon & I'm sure there are more out there.

There's those 2 for a start. I think those cases are small enough for carry on, which is a plus.

certainly not much of a consolation prize, but this is the first time I've seen a refurbished model on amazon.com that would ship to canada: https://www.amazon.com/Pebble-Time-Smartwatch-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B01CUV2ZA4/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1496940567&sr=8-9&keywords=pebble+watch

I bought an ArmorSuit MilitaryShield for $7.80 (Amazon.com) and it was a complete let down. I bought this one which is much easier to apply, you can't even tell it's there and it's much cheaper: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J3BAR28/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'd suggest investing in one of the travel cases for extra safety.

Amazon.com is the best I've found so far. It's in USD, but will ship to Canada.

I like this. It matched up very closely to my experience. I put in a product from a company that had a lot of problems but that I knew worked very hard to impress me and get me to change my review. I know that they wouldn't put this much energy into trying to get me satisfied based off my negative review if they had fake ones there. It passed the test. http://reviewmeta.com/amazon/B00G9N3I7O

And another product which had tons of great reviews over a short time period but which in my experience broke the first day I had it. Extremely fragile if not used in the right way. I couldn't believe the reviews were so high.. And guess what.. Sure enough... http://reviewmeta.com/amazon/B00SWSZ3OK

I've found that the best way for music (Apple Music for offling syncing), podcasts (with offline syncing), or audio books (Audible for offline syncing), especially in the Apple ecosystem, is using a spare (waterproof by default) Apple Watch 38mm S3 (currently $200 on Amazon) and the SwimBuds kit (currently $65 on Amazon) tucked under a swim cap.

It's not the cheapest setup, but syncing podcasts and books on the fly is priceless.

u/L0wPressu7e · 3 pointsr/pebble

It's original kickstarter one, I guess.

With the shipping cost I'd buy it for the price of new Apple Watch though... and there are new PTR for 110$ on amazon . So that you all know.

Someone found an Amazon link with more images and pasted to a thread on the WearOS subreddit:

https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:aXr4wpGNbJMJ:https://www.amazon.com/Fossil-FTW7010-Hybrid-Model/dp/B07SY66F2L+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

I did some pixel measurements on the images, based on the known width of the watch band (22mm). I came up with a thickness of ~10.8mm (with a margin of error), so it's in the neighborhood of a PTS. The diameter of the face appears to be ~43mm.

I just paid £90 for mine (new), really enjoying it so far. Was going to hold out for the PTS2 but since there's nothing in concrete yet I made the jump.

No regrets :)

Here you go (I got it slightly wrong: it was £69.98).

They've also got ordinary Pebble Times for £53.99 but I thought the extra £16 was worth it for the longer battery life.

You can get an alarm that you clip to their diaper instead. If it detects no movement, it tries to wake them with vibrations before it signals an alarm.

u/jumpycan · 2 pointsr/InfertilityBabies

Maybe you should get a breathing monitor to ease your worry? I have this one that clips to the diaper http://www.amazon.com/Levana-Clip-On-Portable-Movement-Monitor/dp/B00E8NGRUW/ref=pd_cp_ba_1

I havent properly used it since baby isnt born :) but i tested it and it is loud and beeps if there is no movement (breathing) for 20 seconds. I also took a cpr class to make myself feel more prepared for a possible worst case scenario.

Also, she is so cute. I just want to snuggle her!
