I vote curtain clips. Inexpensive, non-damaging, variety of colours. It's not an invisible setup or mount, but it has a nice aesthetic, and makes the display look entirely intentional. I think often an invisible 3M type solution can give the impression the display is only intended to be temporary.

Nice looking place!
I'd get a matching wooden square tray to group your bottles in. This would tie your coffee table and console nicely.

The bed is in the nook behind the sofa? That's an awesome layout! As mentioned, a [curtain] (https://www.amazon.com/ALLZONE-84-124inch-Drilling-Collapse-Stainless/dp/B075ZT2FYV/ref=sr_1_4/146-6633519-1236965?ie=UTF8&qid=1525047969&sr=8-4&keywords=long+tension+rods+for+curtains) would be good. There's a lot of art in your place; I'd go with white or beige. Ditto for a room divider instead. I like that up-light affect behind the sofa; think it'd look cool with two lights (led) behind a translucent divide. Maybe have them plugged into a power strip on the living room side, so you just flip the switch.

I think a world markety woven basket [-like this, maybe more reds- ] (https://www.amazon.com/Ten-Thousand-Villages-Basket-Ribbon/dp/B017MAKVF4/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1525052584&sr=8-5&keywords=woven+basket+with+lid)would look good in your place, and it could hold your weights and resistance bands. Maybe by the plant beside the couch. Also, I think the reading chair needs a floor lamp.

There's something I would do that might sound odd. The far wall is a focal point, and it's kind of busy / cluttered feeling. I would take some fabric (a cut bed sheet would do) and tack it on the top underside of your table. This would hide the stools beneath it, making it a solid block in the corner; break up the flow of frenzy on that wall. I'd put a table lamp on the table for ambient lighting.

Here's a couple crazy things I'd do. I'd get some Krylon Fusion spray paint and paint the legs of that little side table reddish brown. Then I'd use it as a plant stand on the other side of the sofa, with the woven basket beneath it. Then I'd get a wooden side table or nightstand- anything with distressed wood like the coffee table. I'd put a coat of gloss black paint just on top, tying it in. I'd also put a thin floor lamp behind it, for reading on the couch. If I was ambitious, I'd hang a cool paper pendant light in the corner- but not that ambitious.

This was my solution from ages ago. Literally just an old closet rod, some shim wedges for angle, and a clamp. Conveniently I have a very tall shelf on my computer desk so this is hardly a universal solution. I later added a cheap curtain track that came with alligator clips. I strung elastic thread between the clips and the track. This makes adjustment between a sit down and stand up position much easier. And the elastic keeps the wire up while allowing quite a bit of play.

I'm planning on purchasing a mic/camera/light boom for when the Omni arrives.

Get a stout curtain rod, close to 1"
https://www.amazon.com/Decopolitan-8-Inch-Window-Treatment-144-Inch/dp/B00DB1HB70/ref=sr_1_79?s=furniture&ie=UTF8&qid=1481141583&sr=1-79&keywords=curtain+rod

Get curtains (I use 84" for sliding glass doors rather than the 96")
https://www.amazon.com/Curtainworks-Kendall-Grommet-Curtain-84-Inch/dp/B00IE03T0Q/ref=sr_1_6?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1481141634&sr=1-6&keywords=curtains

These beefier rods can span the length of a sliding glass door without needing the middle support if the end supports are anchored well enough. I have 5 sliding glass doors in my house and they're all configured this way.

Metal rings that you can string the bobbins for a work in progress on. DMC sells them (Michaels carries them) but they are marked up somewhat excessively. Search on Amazon for a better deal or, I picked up 10 at TJ Maxx that were on a metal hanger and billed as "scarf hangers/storage system."

u/CyberTractor · 6 pointsr/legaladvice

If it is between cupboards, then an adjustable short curtain rod and something small might work best. Something like this.. A quick search found some as small as 16 inches.

Then get a curtain/sheet/whatever.

u/laos101 · 2 pointsr/oculus

Thanks for the part list! I might jump over to Cole Hardware tomorrow and give this a try myself. Any reason you use metal brackets? Was that all they had at Home Depot? I'm thinking plastic given the (slightly) less weight and probably better adhesion to the 3M strips.

eg https://www.amazon.com/Rod-Desyne-L-Shape-Support-Bracket/dp/B00OB5C3UA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1483343841&sr=8-2&keywords=3+inch+bracket

Sensors don't have to be up high and looking down, it's just better cause it gets them out of the way for installations you leave in place and slightly less prone to occlusion. You can put the one that would be in the middle of the room just on the floor or on a table and angle it accordingly, though you might have to do the sensor setup proceedure to use it each time.

You can use poles like these or simple tripods anywhere in your room (some people use them just to keep from putting screws in the walls) to create a temporary place to mount them and route the cables.

DP to HDMI should work fine for the TV. I love my Vive Link Box for a similar purpose (frees up my only hdmi for my projector in my case), which makes the cabling for extending the headset easy because it's not finicky about brands/models, but for just running your TV probably any ole dp>hdmi will work.

u/Jersey_Gal47c · 5 pointsr/HomeImprovement

Black out shades and curtains are a winning combo. My bedroom is so dark and cool now I’d never wake up if it wasn’t for the alarm.

I also highly recommend these curtain rods.

u/MatchaMoto · 1 pointr/vandwellers

I really like the way these look
https://www.amazon.com/IKEA-DIGNITET-Curtain-Stainless-Steel/dp/9170011451

Put them on a magnet and run them around the ceiling for multi purpose use. Maybe if these stick out too far make your own. If I am living in a tight space I want to make it as clean and nice looking as possible, plastic 3 M hooks are great but they just feel a little janky

u/donteatmenooo · 1 pointr/HomeDecorating

I was thinking about curtain holders like these: http://www.amazon.com/Montevilla-Holdback-Draperies-Vintage-Bronze/dp/B00DB1FN0C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1463430418&sr=8-1&keywords=curtain+holders

So you would simply have to use a long pole of some kind to shove the curtains out from them and back into them, I would think. Just as long as the curtains are indeed secured well to the holders, somehow.

u/thekhor · 3 pointsr/Homebrewing

I myself use the drill paddle. Works pretty damn good. Usually fermentation takes off within 12 hours (sometimes within 4 even) and almost always have to use a blow off tube otherwise I blow out my air lock. Actually just did a batch and used an airlock and I have to clean a mess when I get home from work. Thought I was safe on my 1.040 mild, oh well.

The only way I’d replace it is with pure oxygen which I am considering soon.

This is the one I use:

Mix-Stir Agitator Rod https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0064O8QY8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_x-8LBb8ND97JY

u/ppatra · 2 pointsr/india

I'm currently installing this thing: https://www.amazon.in/dp/B01N9DAI4Z/ and amazon also provided plastic dowels to anchor the screws, to put the platic bits I'll have to drill a bigger hole. That's why I'm just drilling the current holes a bit deeper and putting the screws without plastic bits.

btw thank you for answering all my questions. 😊

u/lunaris1013 · 3 pointsr/HomeImprovement

If you don't want to keep the (very likely expensive, custom) blinds, basic lock seam rods (the flat white kind) could probably be mounted in the recessed area where the blinds are currently. If you want to keep the light filtering blinds intact, you'll need to put drapery hardware on the ceiling. There are several types of decorative brackets (like these https://www.amazon.com/Umbra-Ceiling-Bracket-Drapery-Nickel/dp/B00FB6R8HQ?th=1) or, since you want blackout, track that wouldn't leave a gap at the top (https://www.amazon.com/Ceiling-Curtain-Wheeled-Carriers-4-Silver/dp/B01L6C2QQG). Flexible track is also a thing, which would work well with your wall angle.

could i use something like this?

u/val319 · 11 pointsr/DesignMyRoom

There’s a couple options on the drapes. I would do one high rod. You could just do sheers. Next option do a double rod. Sheers go inside covered by nice curtains. You can make it dark. You can pull them back and have sheers showing. I’ve become a fan of magnetic curtain tie backs. Easy and no installation. So you have an idea. Edit sheers not sheets

Mine aren't in sunlight, so I don't have that issue.

You can buy doors for these Billy Bookcases though: https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/S09184486/ These are glass, so not too sure how they'd go if in direct sunlight if better or worse, but would be good for dust.

Alternatively, if you want to keep it completely away from sunlight, add a curtain rod. These would do the job fine and you can throw a blackout curtain over it. No additional screwing necessary - only downside is that you the curtain may brush against the manga if you store them at the shelf edge like I do. Otherwise you could also add a bracket on the sides and drop a curtain rod in, so it's spaced away from the shelf. Heaps of options :)

Over time (several years), most pages will yellow, but you can reduce it by keeping it out of direct sunlight.

u/mrdpt98 · 2 pointsr/HomeImprovement

Tension mount curtain rod?

Kind of like a shower curtain rod. Idk about the gif though.

u/starstough · 4 pointsr/BroMoHousekeeping

Some blackout curtains are better than others, to start (Navy or black work best).

That there are curtain rods that exist that wrap around so that you can easily pull the curtains all way the way to the wall on either side and then to the middle.

You may need an extra panel to hang in the center so that there is enough overlap, and if you really want zero light, you can hang a cornice or even a valance curtain, or build a box cornice that sits flush against the wall on the top of the window which would block the light from the top.

I have, in the past, gone so far as to tape the curtains all around the top and sides, but you can't really do that over and over without damaging the wall and gumming up the fabric lol... but I was desperate. My kids slept on sun time and that was unbearable in the summer.

u/TheCyclingAdmin · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

http://amzn.com/B00FB6NADW Blackout curtain rods will help if you use some heavy thermal curtains, also check if air is coming in and properly apply some weather stripping. Might even be able to apply some door sweep type of weather stripping where the sliding door slides so that when it closes it forms a seal. If you've got a thick door you can put stripping on the edges of one side and a small strip down the middle of the other side so when it shuts it's super tight. It won't look pretty though.

Window film is also a thing my boss has tried, but he said it's hard to get it just right so be prepared to take your time with it.

Could you hang soundproofing curtains from a tension rod? https://www.amazon.com/TENSION-CURTAIN-ROD-680-18/dp/B003VF8RBK That's what we did to hang a heavyweight curtain in our baby's room when it turned out the blinds weren't dark enough for bright summer early mornings.

u/BakuretsuMahou · 2 pointsr/pics

Have you tried putting a tension curtain rod like this behind the normal curtain and putting the blackout that way? https://www.amazon.com/TENSION-CURTAIN-ROD-680-18/dp/B003VF8RBK
