Below are tools/materials I use all the time. I keep them super handy on my work station.

Stamps/Stamping Platform/Blocks: Clear cling stamps are going to be the most space efficient for you. I buy lots of clear stamps and metal dies on ebay to save money but the quality is not nearly as good as US-made brands. If you have wood mounted stamps you can unmount them for use with the stamp platform and for easier storage. There are tutorials online. I second and third other people's recommendations of the Tim Holtz stamp platform. I use it ALL the time. You can get placement perfect for stamps but I also love it because you can reink and stamp a couple times to get a more even and inked impression. Like /u/erwtje-be said, you can put a piece of craft foam on the platform and sometimes that helps get better impressions. I get the thinner craft foam at dollar tree and also use it to raise larger sections of the card up for some dimension. For the thicker craft foam go to Michael's or another craft store. I do use acrylic blocks from time to time too. I find the round/scalloped edge type are the ones I grab most often.

Inks: My two most used inks are VersaMark and VersaFine. I use VersaMark for most of my embossing but there are awesome other techniques you can use it with too. VersaFine gets the best edges and details IMO for all regular stamping. I highly recommend the full size. Don't bother with the itty bitty baby cubes. The great thing about both of these is they can be reinked.

Embossing Powder Tool: You use this to remove static from your paper before stamping embossing ink and applying powder so the powder only sticks to your sentiment and not to finger prints or other parts of the paper. You can make your own (tutorial) buy one like this or this. I have all three but use my home made one (6 years ago) the most often. I second /u/sm9406's powder list and point that it elevates the look and feel of your cards exponentially. You can do everything with black, white, clear, silver, and gold. Use the antistatic tool on the paper that catches your embossing powder to get as much of it back in the container as possible.

Scissors/Tape/Glue: I use my Tim Holtz non-stick serrated scissors everyday. They are for cutting adhesive tapes/double stick foam. They are great if you buy tape on rolls, not necessary if you use the plastic applicator double stick stuff. I find that much less versatile than buying rolls of double stick tape and foam tape. I personally buy mine from DAISO but you may not have that store where you are. They have all different widths and I find the quality cannot be beat for $1.50 a roll. Scor Tape is also excellent though it is much more expensive. My favorite glue is the ZIG two way glue pen. When it's blue and wet it is permanent or if you let it dry clear it can be used to temporarily bond things.

Tweezers: I never bothered to get tiny craft tweezers for a looong time and now I realize how much time and headache could been avoided if I'd only known how much I would use them. To remove double stick tape backing, to position small glued elements, to pick up and place tiny embellishments, etc. These are by far the best tweezers I've bought. I tried some knock off alternatives but they honestly don't even come close. If you're going to get tweezers, I highly suggest these by EK Tools.

Ruler/Layer Tool: I'm absolutely obsessed with this tool. If you like the clean look of layered/matted paper on your cards it is a must. It will look perfect every time. You use this with an Xacto or other craft knife. You will want a self healing mat or a tempered glass cutting surface. I prefer the glass mat over the self healing because you can glue on it and ink on it and then scrape or wash it off. That link is to the one I have, it is a bit large. I know they make smaller ones though. My favorite ruler is by Tim Holtz It has the metal edge so you can run your craft knife against it. I cut things by hand with the ruler and layer tools much more often than with the paper cutter.

ScorBuddy: Like /u/Mystery_Substance suggested, the ScorPal is awesome. They make a mini version called the ScorBuddy and I use that 99% of the time over my larger one. The big one is mostly useful if you're going to make your own envelopes which I don't really do.

Saran Wrap has already been mentioned. I use it, but it has some serious limitations. It is not good for small areas, like tying wrists together, or anything less than a full arm, to a bedpost. You need to use it in full sheet size not as a rope. So, it is best for more mummification type scenarios where she puts her arms at her side and you wrap the saran wrap around her entire body trapping her arms to her side. You can go around the hips and both legs together as well. You can then cut (use EMT scissors, if you are going to do bondage you really should have a pair!) or safer yet just tear areas out for access.
I buy the colored saran wrap in the holiday boxes after the holidays on discount. I’m going to remove the cellophane from the box anyway, and I like the colored wrap for effect. I bought about 5 rolls of both red and green after Christmas this year for about $0.75 a box this year. I tend to use 1 to 1.5 rolls each time I play with it.

[Vet Wrap] (https://www.walmart.com/ip/NEOGEN-CORPORATION-PF118-G-Syrflex-4-x-5-YD-Green-Vet-Wrap-Cohesive-Bandage/45821697), also called Coban (the 3M trademark name), is fairly cheap and can be bought at Walmart. It can be used to tie fairly small areas although once again it should not be rolled into a rope, think more like how bandage rolls are put on. You can use this to bind wrists together, or ankles to bedposts. It sticks to itself but does not stick to skin, hair, or clothing. It is light weight, moisture resistant, and reusable. It can be used over sensitive areas like the face (ever considered binding someone’s writs to the back of their head, with this you can!) comes in different colors, and is fairly cheap. It is made of latex, so make sure everyone is good with that. It can be found for 3-4 dollars a roll, stay away from sterile rolls as they will cost considerably more (like $20 a roll as opposed to $ 4), are only sterile until taken out of the package, and offers no advantage in bondage play. Overall it is a good tool to have in any bondage kit.

Bondage Tape, also called Amazing Tape or self-cling tape, is something in between vet wrap and saran wrap. It is a non-adhesive tape made out of a plastic material much more durable than the cellophane that saran wrap is made of. You can buy it in 1 inch wide (by like 50 foot long) rolls and use it to tie someone up like you would with vet wrap, also don't roll it into rope. Unlike saran wrap it is reusable. It is preferred to vet wrap mainly because it is less stretchy meaning you can make more secure bondage, and it feels more like bondage and less like medical play.

Overall you don't want anything to become thin and ropelike. The wider the area it covers the less pressure on any given point, which prevents circulation loss and nerve damage. When using rope the types of ties to do that are not hard to learn. You can't use knots that are going to collapse or slide and allow the rope to tighten when pressure is put on the line. Saran wrap, Bondage tape, and vet wrap simply do not have properties conductive to tying knots that will not slip and tighten so don't try it.

  • Helix Circle Maker (~$8, use this a lot).
  • This set of 48 skinny washi tape (be aware that the image DOES represent the products. I liked all but 3 of the tapes, and only one-third had gold foil patterns).
  • Sakura Pigma Micron pens (I use 01 and 08 the most).
  • Tombow Fudenosuke brushpens (I like the soft tip, but I bought the two pack. It came with a mini ruler that I cut to fit into my A6-ish's pocket and that's the ruler I use, if I use one). ~$3/pen
  • If I need an eraser, my favorite is Pentel Clic Eraser ZE-22. I've had this for decades. Has never failed me. Also, no stub problems.
  • I use Tombow brush pens, but eh. I should have bought the monochrome set rather than the ones I have. I do not regret buying #451, #243, and #062, but YMMV (~$3/pen).
  • The Pentel Aquash Brush pens are the best way to get into water brush pens, water coloring ($3 per).
  • Along with a Prima watercolors palette (I favor Tropicals, but will go for Odessey next time, ~$15-25). It made me realize that actually, yes, I do enjoy water colors.

    Best of luck!

Constructive criticism incoming. Consider repainting using something like this https://www.amazon.com/FrogTape-282547-Painting-1-81-Inch-25-Yard/dp/B00EUTMDZ2. You could get a real clean wave going. Im not sure about the quality of paint but being above the television is going to get that shelf kinda warm. You may find that your PoPs and boxes will stick to it over time.Maybe some colored contact paper on the top to protect your stuff. Love your idea though. I dont mean to offend, just help improve. :)

u/Vicsinn · 6 pointsr/RandomActsofCards

Welcome. I'll warn you now, this is a very addictive sub you are getting yourself into. You start out by requesting a card or two, then decide to send a few. Your cards start pilling up, incoming piles and outgoing. Free time is spent organizing . You get some cards with cool stickers and washi tape decorating them and decide you should buy some. Now you have an entire desk dedicated to hand made cards. You think you can break free by getting out of the house to your favorite coffee shop. They sell postcards there and you think to yourself " u/sosococomomo would love that".

I did my stripes myself. Originally I had purchased mighty stripes and they were a pain to install. I thought I was purchasing replica stock stripes but they just sent 4 4ft lengths of vinyl. I had to heat them up to get any sort of stretch or flexibility and they weren't wide enough to fill in the non faded paint from the original stripe. Working the contour of the hood caused the stripes to wrinkle and I ended up warping them with the heat gun trying to get them to contour. I don't recommend the mighty stripes but in your situation they may work.

Round 2. Click Here3m Di-noc Carbon Fiber vinyl A panel and stripes. I first tackled the A panel and I will say the 3m di-noc is great to work with. It contours to the curves of the car much better without heat and with heat it is so easy to work with.
For the stripes I purchased more Di-noc and a product called "knifeless tape" the secret to having the stripes look clean is to be able to lay the vinyl down and then cut the shape from it and that is what knifeless tape allows. It has a fine filament that you can pull through the laid vinyl creating most any reasonable shape you want.
So I layed the knifeless tape down along the faded paint line left from my old stripes leaving enough excess to release the filament prior to cutting the vinyl. Then covered it with a sheet of di-noc slightly larger than the tape pattern. The di-noc laid down with no need to heat the vinyl to adjust for the contours of the hood. I then followed over it with a plastic squeege wrapped in a microfiber towel to make sure it was bonded well with the paint and to push the air bubbles out.

Next step I broke the filament free of the knifeless tape and pulled it back over itself creating approximately a 30 degree angle I pulled it through the vinyl. A sharp tug at the edge of the vinyl is all it takes to start the cut. I don't have a finished pic of the hatch lid or a knifeless tape pic of the hood but the pictures should give you a good idea of what was done. I spent maybe $140 all together including 3m primer, squeeges, knifeless tape, and the vinyl and couldn't be happier with the results.

I also like the idea of getting an old, used Gameboy at a thrift, pawn, or used game shop. You can get them for super cheap and find great used games with it!

Also caannddyy and desserts...

I think I'm getting hints from my little at this point >.<

I hope it helps! I’m actually pretty artistic and love drawing and messed around with a few ideas for monthly cover pages yesterday on watercolor paper before I bite the bullet and put one in my BUJO.

They’re washi tape! The rolls are giant and they’re that super thin good washi tape.

Materials you need

Duck Brand Silver Mirror tape

Matte finish spray paint. I had left over Dullcote. I would suggest lacquer based spray paint as it has high durability and enamel being next best option.

Not really required. Adhesion promoter from automotive retailer (Autozone/ O'reilly's, NAPA, etc)
****
I'd suggest applying adhesion promoter primer + lacquer/enamel based clear coat for the best results. I kind of regret skipping the primer as my top coat has already been scraped.

I sprayed the
entire* case. I didn't like the gloss finish.

Spray multiple light coats and be patient. Don't let anything pool and/or run.

As for the tape, just cut to size and stick it on the bottom. I covered like 90%. You can probably be meticulous and cover more than I did. Now that I write this, maybe sticking some on the bottom of the PCB will help as well. Just make sure not to cover the RGB lights, of course.

I just used this stuff:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BXYWXY8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

to reassemble a Time Steel that I replaced the battery in. Worked great. It's probably not water proof anymore, but with two layers of it, it's probably at least splash resistant.

I peeled the previous double stick material off (it's actually pretty easy with just fingernails alone) and then placed one layer on the plastic gasket, and one layer on the underside of the screen. Getting the screen reconnected was a little tricky and required the use of a long thin metal tool, you might be okay with just a flathead screwdriver.

u/MotelWorm · 1 pointr/phonerepair

I won't lie... Cheap Amazon Prime accessible tape.
The two names are as follows;

2mm Clear Double Sided Strong Adhesive Acrylic Tape For Phone LCD Screen Repair https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019OQ4Z10?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Eco-Fused Adhesive Sticker Tape for Use in Cell Phone Repair - 2mm Tape - also including 1 Pair of Tweezers / Eco-Fused Microfiber Cleaning Cloth (black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BXYWXY8?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I know they're cheap, but how much should I spend/what should I search for when I purchase? Computers are my hobby, but I work in kitchens and bake bread full time... Soooo, I'm pretty good with my hands. Application is not the issue here.

u/McMadface · 1 pointr/headphones

Get Joe's Sticky Stuff. It's like that adhesive they use on credit cards but on crack. It's really strong but peels off cleanly with no residue. To get it off easily, pull it horizontally so it stretches, kinda like a Command strip.

u/CaptainBenza · 5 pointsr/Gunpla

I use BMC chisels; these lines were made with a 0.4mm one. As I guide I use a combination of things depending on the line. To start I use a small clear ruler and micron pen to sketch out the lines until I get a design I like. Then I use one of the following methods depending on the surface and length:

  • for long lines that need to be at specific angles I'll make sure to mark two points with the marker and then place dymo labeling tape to guarentee I have a straight line. Then over that I put the actual guide which is dymo embossing tape.. Then I scribe. An example of this is the moderate and long vertical lines on the shield. I started with the 4 short diagonal lines which gave me the two points on each side to base the vertical lines on. Each side then used a single set of dymo tapes so that they would align with each other (the lower and higher lines).

  • for moderate lines at easier angles (i.e. right angels) I'll use just the dymo embossing tape over making a line with the marker.

  • for short lines (<4mm) I'll free hand it.

  • for lines around edges which I want to be symmetrical I'll do use a combination of the labeling and embossing tape. The embossing tape can't really round edges because it's too thick, but the labeling tape is too thin to really guide the scribe well. So I use the labeling tape to wrap around the part, guaranteeing the angle. Then I use a single piece of embossing per side of the angled surface. If I need to I'll do the little bit of the corner left using the scribed lines on either side to guide me, so mostly free handed because it'll be such a small surface.

TL;DR BMC Chisels, Dymo Embossing/Labeling tape, ruler, micron pen, and

That's what I do as well. I also use MT Washi tape which is very similar (slightly thinner) to Tamiya tape, and slightly cheaper.

I also spray Future (or Alclad Aqua Gloss) over the masked canopy (after making sure it's clean - no fingerprints!). The clear gloss makes the plastic shiny and seals the tape edges even better, reducing or eliminating paint seepage.

This tape is similar to the adhesive that is used on command hooks. It is quite strong but can be removed from a wall without damaging the paint. Not cheap but a little goes a long way. Popular on movie sets.

u/LordHeavy2 · 1 pointr/macbookpro

Thats what I was thinking. Do you think this would work? 2mm seems like its the perfect thickness, though it's double sided and I'd only use a single side.

I was in a very similar position recently, and after a ton of googling I ended up on washi tape. I bought this one

It works great (fold a piece in half along top and bottom of back of poster and stick to wall) and didn't mess up my wall's paint or the poster.

Also, that screen is blindingly bright. I got some kink tape and cut a small piece to cover the screen so I can still see it.

You could certainly patch it with nylon and some sewing skills, but I would probably use gear repair tape for something minor like that.

Gore-Tex should work, I used one on a pair on snowboarding pants about 8 years ago and the patch is still holding strong through 5 or 6 washings. I don't see why it wouldn't work on a sleeping pad. I actually carry one in my repair kit out on the trail for a sleeping pad or rain jacket/pants haven't used it yet on those items but I know it worked damn well on my pants.

EDIT: Hmm, I think the gore-tex I linked and the Tenacious Tape are the same thing just under different names?

They look the same and both are made by gear aid, the gore-tex package says "Tenacious Tape". Now I'm curious, might have to do some tests.

u/MeowPrincessSandwich · 3 pointsr/RandomActsofCards

Oh no, there goes my paycheck. I can't pass up a good deal on washi. This is a really cool set that I use for detailed work. It's really thin so you can do some unique things with it. Sticks well, too! If it's on an outer envelope, I usually hide the ends under a stamp or sticker just to be safe.

I personally really dig nature-themed washi tape. I own these ones and they're stunning as hell. These are also great and inspire themes for me all the time. I also own this tape and I'm obsessed with it.

Just Google whatever theme you want + washi tape and you'll find plenty of options.

Edit: holy shit "gothic washi tape" yielded some kick ass results too.

You don't "need" to put an adhesive, but if you don't, you risk dust getting beneath your lens and stuck onto the screen, which obviously isn't ideal.

I put 3mm double sided sticky tape. I used this one from Amazon.

You might be able to find a smaller roll of tape, but you really don't want to go more than 7mm IMO. I chose 3mm because I use it for other projects. I just put two tape pieces like this along every edge of the screen:

And definitely no glue unless you want to risk a runny mess and never take off your lens again.
