I love the suggestions for a shower stool. I didn't know those existed, either, and with a small space, they look like a total game changer!

Here are some everyday bath items that, in addition to the stool, can help you conserve energy and stay safe throughout your shower routine. You probably have most or all of these items, but I figured I'd list them just in case. (Links go to whatever turned up on Amazon and looked reasonable; I haven't tried them out myself or researched them.)

Handheld showerhead: It helps a ton with minimizing movement (and also not getting the dreaded blast of cold water when you switch from the tap to the shower which is no small potatoes).

Back scrubber: Wet it down, rub a little soap on it, and bam! You have an energy-conserving way to scrub hard-to-reach places and a back scratcher! (Also available with those mesh-puff things instead of a brush if you want to be gentler on your skin.)

Suction cup hooks: Hang your long-handled scrubber, your washcloths, whatever you want.

Washcloths with loops: Keep them at arm-level on your suction cup hooks and you're ready to go. If you don't want to buy new washcloths, you could buy some fabric remnants or foldover elastic for cheap at a big-box craft store and make loops for your existing washcloths instead.

Shower basket with suction cups: I like these better than those shower caddies you hang over the shower head because you don't get pelted in the face with water when you're reaching for things and you can place these within easy reach.

Suction cup soap dish: Again, you can put this at whatever height you want and never have to worry about having to lean over to reach for soap again.

Wall-mounted dispenser: If you're not into bar soap or bottles, you can use this guy to hold body wash, shampoo, and conditioner instead. (I don't know how much of a hassle they are to refill, though.)

Reacher: The classic! If you've dropped your washcloth, you don't have to stress your body by bending to pick it up. Just make sure you get a length that'll work for you in your shower or that thing'll turn into more hazard than help.

Lastly, I gotta ask if you'd consider having grab bars installed for safety. If you have difficulty going from sitting to standing, it sounds like using a shower stool would be helpful, but might come with its own issues, and I want you to be safe. There are some suction cup grab bars out there, but man, I don't trust those things. A little bit of soap scum or something builds up near one of the suction cups and it's Bad News Bears.

If you have an occupational therapist, this would be a perfect thing to discuss with them! Seriously, they live for that kind of thing. :)

I was looking for something similar for a while. I ended up getting 3M command strips, and using those to attach to a cut piece of over-door hook that worked surprisingly well. Clear too so not really noticeable and mountable just about anywhere. If you needed a pic I could get one for you. Also 3M has a spice tray that works pretty well for a standard controller but not so much on an elite. If you shop around they should have something that would accommodate an Xbox one controller nicely by now..

Edit: I know from experience that these work pretty well. The medium size holds a ps4 controller nicely, as it's a bit more slim-lined. I would think the large would be close to perfect for an X1 controller. I can also provide a pic of the medium size of you need it.

Something like this or this could work. The reason I went this route is so I wouldn't have to drill into the walls, and easily moveable as I move my room around often. Good luck

Peacock soap dish. I need it because I don't have one but I have a small stack of bar soaps a friend gave to me that I want to use. Plus I really love peacocks!

Thanks for the contest!

u/Cameo-Illustrated · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

You can order something like this or this. They're much cheaper. I use something similar to these. Then when I rinse I use a soap tray with ridges!

Edit: I don't use one of these but it would definitely work for rinsing. Or you could use your hand!

The Pearl travel case I posted can be found here:

http://www.amazon.com/Safety-Razor-Travel-Faux-Leather/dp/B00IBY9P12/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1398441309&sr=8-5&keywords=pearl+travel+razor

However you can't buy the case separately, you have to buy the whole kit.

An option that I am fond of is using a plastic soap case like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Soap-Dish-Toothbrush-Combo/dp/B002LC4Z4W/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1398441766&sr=8-4&keywords=plastic+soap+case

I have the Omega Turnback Travel brush and I pack it in there with a stick of Arko and my razor is held in place in between these two.

You can add a wash cloth to the bottom to protect the razor a bit more (and to help you wash up), and over-all this makes for a sturdy and inexpensive way to travel with your shave kit.

I purchased this a while back (same idea, but with magnets!) It's actually pretty neat.

u/battraman · 3 pointsr/BuyItForLife

Well it really depends on what you want so here's some random stuff.

u/hip_drive · 2 pointsr/LushCosmetics

Sorry, I have to put in my two cents. OP, I would only use the tin for the purpose of carrying the bar back and forth from your room. If you put it in the tin after you shower, it will start to get melty and goopy and really hard to use. It needs to dry out! You could prop it on its side in the tin, which would help to dry it out, or use a special soap dish like this soap saver which will allow it to dry completely every day! (Btw that Amazon price is absurd. You can find them for a buck at the drug/cosmetics store.)

You should get a tin! But I wouldn't keep it in there all the time.

Does anyone have a design for this soap holder in the link below? I know Walmart was selling a copycat for cheaper but surely this can be printed maybe with TPU in custom sizes or shapes? Like maybe a yellow ducky shape?

Aira Soap Saver - Soap Dish & Soap Holder Accessory - Drains Water, Circulates Air, Extends Soap Life - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M124TZE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_OuOrDbDYGRCE3

I'm going to add my photo tomorrow. I have to share the wall of toilet paper and paper towels with the world (my mom coupons). But no shower picture because we're on well water and it's not pretty to look at.

Okay so here is the image I promised you all link That is, from the farthest wall, tissues, paper towels and toilet paper.

If I win I'd like to go this for my shower because there is no spot in there for soap. There never has been.

rub a dub dub.

1.85 soap dish! Thanks for the add on contest! It's a great way to get rid of those pesky items =) Pink! I did nothing today. I'm about to do some calculus, but other than that, I finished the first season of Goosebumps on Netflix and played with my cat.

Your boi has big fins... so yea probably... try google "water bottle baffle", or perhaps you can get a super strong suction-cup soap dish (BRAND NEW, NEVER USED!) to stick on as a baffle: https://www.amazon.com/FRMMY-Suction-Bathroom-Counter-Kitchen/dp/B07RJ39MRF/ (plastic so no worry of rust)

u/kste9 · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

I just started using Lullaby and was surprised at how much lather I got! I was not expecting it at all. My hair honestly felt cleaner longer throughout the day and even in to the next day. I love the smell of it. I know a lot of people have problems with drying them but I keep mine in a leftover (small) black lush pot. I put it in when I get done and set it on my sink while I get ready. Then before I leave I flip the bar so the other side can dry some more. Some people use soap savers but I've not personally tried it!

edit: new link, spelling

u/Saraswatispock · 2 pointsr/ZeroWaste

Soap in the shower or sink? On my sink I have a little soap saver like this- S & T Soap Saver Bundle, 0.19 Pound https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0784BGSZ1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ZaNJAbFBMPA1Q It works really well, haven't had any issues. Though, if you don't wash it at least every couple weeks, it doesn't work as well because it gets clogged with soap. But I literally rinse it for thirty second and that's it.

In the shower I have my body soap in a little terrycloth bag that hangs. I just make sure to squeeze it as much as possible, like for real squeeze it, and it lasts without mildewing for the life of a bar of soap. I just wash the pouch in between bars.

u/DarlingDestruction · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

It might seem silly, but something like this does wonders for keeping your kitchen/sink area looking tidy, and it lets your sponge dry completely. I have one that sticks in the corner of my sink, and it holds the sponge and the little soap-dispensing scrub brush thing I have. I love a tidy looking kitchen. :3

u/krdshrk · 7 pointsr/cigars

I use a Metal Soap Bar. It actually works pretty well. I would recommend using a nail brush too to get under your fingernails.

u/SSK144 · 1 pointr/LushCosmetics

I keep my Movis on one of these "soap saver" dishes but anything similar that allows water to drain away would work (they're fantastic for shampoo bars too!). I took a chunk when I was traveling once and kept it in an enclosed soap holder; it got mushy and fell apart within a week. As long as it's able to dry out I haven't had any issues.

u/nosomathete · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

Pretty easy to find at Amazon

u/rae202 · 3 pointsr/LushCosmetics

I use this soap saver in my shower and it has made my shampoo bar last much longer than when I didn't have it! It dries fully and is ready for the next wash without leaving little to any of the product on the soap saver :)

u/Ladyingreypajamas · 0 pointsr/Cooking

This is a stinky hand lifesaver.

u/rngr · 4 pointsr/whatisthisthing

These soap savers work great for keeping soap from getting mushy.

u/YellowDickiesCup · 2 pointsr/pics

This is the one I use. The people on amazon really like it.

u/rabidfurby · 1 pointr/SeattleWA

LPT: get one of these and mount it high up in your shower, out of the path of the water. Dedicated shower beer holder!

u/SchreiberBike · 1 pointr/whatisthisthing

Similar thing from Amazon $7. It's a new idea for me but it looks like it works.

u/Dubiousdoubtful · 7 pointsr/LushCosmetics

Those tins are only useful for traveling and I always cut down my bars for those occasions. For daily use I have this Aira Soap Saver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J6PEO2Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_P1aenIrUlrUiB on the counter right outside my shower. This soap dish https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A61Z20K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_743mDbP6KT7VJ is handy if you don’t have easily accessible counter space.

u/load_more_comets · 7 pointsr/Frugal

Most effective soap dish I've ever used.

u/noushieboushie · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

Honestly, she has to let that soap stay dry. Get two of these and have her alternate 2 bars of soap.

https://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Soap-Holder-Bathroom-Shower/dp/B000DZFA66

u/howtospellorange · 5 pointsr/LushCosmetics

whatever you put it on, try putting it its side so only a small bit of it is touching anything else.

otherwise, I use soapsavers for my soap! I use ones like this where only the small nubs are touching the soap

u/VaginaDentata · 3 pointsr/wicked_edge

Rinse with cold water, pat dry then place in a container like this.

u/CC_DKP · 18 pointsr/whatisthisthing

They are sometimes called "Soap savers", since they stop the bar from sitting in water and turning to mush.

While not the exact model, here is a similar one:
http://smile.amazon.com/InterDesign-Soap-Saver-Oval-Clear/dp/B000DZFA66/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419277671&sr=8-1&keywords=soap+saver
