This candle to burn in the bathroom (and anywhere else in your new flat!) to give off a yummy smell and while you take a nice bath, help you relax! :D

Finally, a used copy (to keep things under £40) of this book to help you indulge in relaxation properly and escape in an enjoyable fashion while you celebrate! 1.) Something that is grey.

technically it's gray, but i have a feeling you won't quibble over semantics

2.) Something reminiscent of rain.

sometimes when you get a really good rain it sparkles

3.) Something food related that is unusual.

the ingredients are edible foods

4.) Something on your list that is for someone other than yourself. Tell me who it's for and why. (Yes, pets count!)

this is for my youngest daughter, she was named after it's author.

5.) A book I should read! I am an avid reader, so take your best shot and tell me why I need to read it!

you have probably already read this book, but it's always worth reading again

6.) An item that is less than a dollar, including shipping... that is not jewelry, nail polish, and or hair related!

a gift card for less than $1

7.) Something related to cats. I love cats! (keep this SFW, you know who you are...)

it even has a picture of a cat on it!

8.) Something that is not useful, but so beautiful you must have it.

this isn't useful in any way, but it's the Boss so I feel compelled to have it.

this is definitely bigger than a bread box

16.) Something that smells wonderful.

i think this stuff smells lovely

17.) A (SFW) toy.

Playing with this at work could get you fired, but not because it's explicit.

18.) Something that would be helpful for going back to school.

If I were going back to school I would definitely take my iPad. iPads are definitely helpful. I would use this to keep it safe.

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be.

I have been making a lot of bath bombs lately. I use silicone molds like these to make them in fun shapes.

20.) Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand.

This book is about the song Hallelujah (which is a beautiful song) and how it became to be one of the most recorded songs in history. It was originally kind of a failure but somehow made it to the place where it is today where it has been performed by hundreds of musicians. I find it amazing that this song that almost didn't make it onto the album it was originally written for. When it did make it to the album it was a flop, yet here we are listening to this song that has become so popular.

To share my personal experience, I recently completed a 10 day fast; the early days were the easiest for me, and then my energy started to decline significantly on the 5th. Days 6 - 10 were a downward trend of lethargy, weakness, lighthead/dizziness, and constant nausea. I was disappointed that I couldn't stick it out for the full 21 days that I had intended, but going through that experience and feeling like it wasn't going to turn around was enough to tell me that it was time to stop. What helped was knowing that it wasn't derailed by the desire to eat, and it wasn't psychological (like a lack of willpower). It just happened that my body wasn't coping well and I didn't feel that it was in my best interest to endure for much longer. So for me, that was the best indicator of knowing when it's time to stop - and to that end, I recommend that people start off by doing shorter fasts first to see how their body adapts, particularly because the benefits of fasting tend to peak around the 72 hour mark.

To try to mitigate any potential issues or side effects from the fast, try supplementing electrolytes - particularly sodium. What works best for me is to either dissolve Celtic Sea Salt on my tongue, or take small sips of Pickle Juice. For potassium, NoSalt has a good amount per serving and can be mixed with water and taken as a shot. For magnesium, you can take it in pill form, a lotion/spray, or by soaking your feet in Epsom Salt. The latter two will be most beneficial on longer fasts. But supplementing sodium starting on the 2nd day of my own fasts has made me feel better (less brain fog, improved mood). The most beneficial amount, based on a recommendation provided on the Fasting Talk podcast, was discussed here.

HTH!

Okay, if I'm breaking the rules, then just ignore this post. But personally what I would do is just totally pamper myself!!! Since you totally deserve it, if you so choose, here's a step by step process approved by yours truly :b

  1. Pick a good book! Something along the lines of [this] (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Miss-Peregrines-Home-Peculiar-Children/dp/1594746060/ref=wl_it_dp_v_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=93F7UCQCYL93&coliid=IKK84OLGCAATV) (which I was ogling at the store, so you'll have to tell me how it is whenever you read it!) or even [this] (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brave-New-World-Aldous-Huxley/dp/0099518473/ref=wl_it_dp_v_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=93F7UCQCYL93&coliid=I2IOJFEAO4AML3) which is personally one of my favorite books ever.

Got a book? Perfect! You may proceed.

  2. Draw yourself a bath with these [awesome bath bombs and soaps] (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bomb-Cosmetics-Luxury-Ballotin-Assortment/dp/B000XFU4K8/ref=wl_it_dp_v_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1DI8MIXIWXE36&coliid=IF8YM49L6KGD) and lather it up, soak it up, and relax yo'self while reading your book that you chose in step 1.

  3. Probably should be labeled as step number two, but to help set the ambiance, don't forget about the [candles!] (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lily-Flame-Scented-Candle-Tin/dp/B0018RJMEY/ref=wl_it_dp_v_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1DI8MIXIWXE36&coliid=IVW7ZQAC9OO0J)

  4. Last, but most certainly not least! Finish off your relaxing pampering sesh with [a beautiful mani] (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Valentines-Cosmic-Glitter-Lacquer-Perfect/dp/B006JNX61C/ref=wl_it_dp_v_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=CPGFYU1TC89&coliid=ISOQI53E5PNXX), and don't forget to [clean up afterwards!] (http://www.amazon.co.uk/POLISH-VARNISH-REMOVER-CORRECTOR-CORRECTION/dp/B0061XTGIM/ref=wl_it_dp_v_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=CPGFYU1TC89&coliid=I3LTVFYIJMHE5V)

    this message approved by TIG23

I would greatly appreciate [skyfall] (http://www.amazon.com/Skyfall-Daniel-Craig/dp/B007REV4T8/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=KYZ3XNM7EVE1&coliid=I378YST7ZB35TV) to add to my James Bond collection/ Movie collection and enjoy for a romantic date night at home! woop-di-woop !!

> Everytime I go in for any of this nobody knows a damn thing.

So, it's really important to understand and recognize that PCOS is still something that Western doctors haven't 100% figured out and learned how to treat. Knowing that, and knowing the abysmal quality of OBGYN care in Japan, I would expect that the cluelessness and lack of understanding would be significantly more frustrating here.

Second, get to /r/PCOS if you haven't already. Granted, there's a lot of crap posting from self-diagnosed obese women who attribute their inability to get pregnant/lose weight to PCOS and not their weight/laziness, but I digress...Just use a critical eye and learn to recognize bullshit posts.

It's not PCOS, but it's similar and worth sharing my friend's story: She left Japan last year after 5-6 years of living in the country to return to the US — not because she wanted to, but because she was unable to find a doctor who could understand, let alone properly treat, her endometriosis. She'd been diagnosed in the US about a year prior to her departure while visiting home, and when she was back in Japan, it was a literal nightmare situation for her. It took her months to get birth control/hormonal treatment and she couldn't find a doctor in Tokyo (of all places) who'd had experience with the disorder before — which is surprising, considering it's a very real, well-documented and rather well-understood OBGYN ailment. My friend was consistently told to "ganbare" through her paid (which, if you're familiar with endometriosis, is a fucking laugh and a half) and that she didn't need surgery (which is the #1 best way to help cure/treat endometriosis). At the end of it all, she understood her health was more important than her life here — so she reluctantly left her friends/career/life behind to go home and get the treatment she needed.

Anyway back to PCOS — I was diagnosed, then undiagnosed, then rediagnosed with it throughout my teens and early 20s. (Remember that whole part about it not being understood? I had a doctor tell me that because I wasn't "obese or overweight with a beard" there was no way I could have PCOS. Right.) The #1 treatment method is birth control, so I suggest you get back on it right away. I've had a lot of success with microgestin, but YMMV. Keep in mind it took me switching four different birth control pills/brands over ~5-6 years before finding something that worked. I have a few friends who also have it and they all take some form of oral contraceptive as well.

The birth control will help tremendously with the acne. A lot of women also have success with spironolactone — but I've never taken it, and I'm not sure if you can get it in Japan. Acne and melasma are my biggest symptoms — the other being painful cysts that burst and sent me to the ER — so this is the one area I have a lot of experience with. General OTC acne stuff does not address or help with hormonal cystic acne that's caused by PCOS. The topic stuff that is prescribed in the West (Diffrin, Retinol etc.) isn't legal in Japan. You can manage it in the meantime by using a good salicylic acid product — I actually swear by 明色化粧品 明色美顔水, a Japanese anti-acne lotion (toner) that's been around for 130+ years.

The only other option is, if you can, return to your home country for a doctor visit and get on a good treatment plan with them. You're not going to find help for PCOS and other OBGYN ailments in Japan. They simply refuse to acknowledge their existence.

Cleansers (Unless you're using a medicated cleanser most skincare products aren't really going to prevent acne.)

A great book, I highly recommend this:
https://www.amazon.com/Fourth-Trimester-Postpartum-Balancing-Restoring/dp/1611804000

Some products I liked

Earth Mama Organic Perineal Balm- it’s very healing. I really liked this product.

Better than your regular perineal squirt bottle although those are good too. Don’t forget to keep one in your diaper bag in the early weeks. You can use warm water but alcohol free witch hazel is good.
https://www.amazon.com/FridaBaby-006-Fridababy-Fridet-MomWasher/dp/B00VO65XB0

You’re probably going to want Dermaplast (the blue can) and Tucks Witch Hazel pads to place along your pads. Cooling and soothing.

Preferred these to pads:
https://www.amazon.com/Always-Discreet-Incontinence-Postpartum-Disposable/dp/B074SWPPWJ

A sitz bath and something nice to soak your bits in. :) https://www.amazon.com/Sitz-Bath-Salt-Postpartum-Hemorrhoid/dp/B07HY7R9J4 There are lots of different good soaking products out there.

A belly band of some kind. I called mine the “mommy swaddle”. :)

I mean, if you're willing to spend some money on bath bombs then there are lots of great options at Lush! It's not AB but they are a vegan company and I cannot friggin reccomend their bath bombs and bubble bars enough. The Blue Skies bubble bar is amazing if you're a hippie, the Comforter is fruity and creamy and 1/4 of the bar is enough for a whole bath. You also might have luck using essential oils like Lavender, Rosemary, Mint and Rose. A few drops with some epsom salts is very relaxing and a little bit goes a long way.

Roman bath salts are also popular on this sub from what I've heard, but I do not have experience with them.

This may or may not make me That Guy but I swear by Hugo Boss Bottled. It's not the cheapest in the world but I feel instantly Manlier when I wear it and I love the smell. It is a bit of a Magnet. I've had female friends give me that look after we've hugged hello. I'm happily married, but i'm not complaining ;)

You can find samples in most issues of GQ to test.

For hair I'm really enjoying Fudge Urban, I have the Matte Wax, Matte Head Master, and Ice Freezing styling gel

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fudge-Urban-Matte-Wax-70/dp/B009G6DPQA

I'm only just settling into the fact that I'm trans, so that's as far as I've got right now :)

It's my party!

Such a great idea, I did this same thing last week for my birthday! For my birthday, I would hope to receive one of the Sleek palettes on my wishlist, like the Garden of Eden or Oh So Special! They look sooo nice and I'm on an eyeshadow no buy, so it'd be fantastic.

Happy birthday!

I just started substitute teaching at a Montessori school in the 1.5 to 3 year old age range. Well… I'm not sure what you know about Montessori but it's all about the kids doing everything on their own so prepping snack which would take me all of 5 min takes them at least an hour so needless to say when I get home all I want to do is crank up the hot water and relax with one of [these] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007G0GRUE/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_img?_encoding=UTF8&colid=26SWLD702LW5B&coliid=I2QYYFBLDILSAT) talk about the gift that keeps giving. Every time I use them I come out feeling refreshed and relaxed. :)

u/stupidminnow · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Sleek palettes are sooo good for the price. I'm such a broken record on here talking about the Garden of Eden but it's sooo good. A mix of greens, lilacs, and bronze shades with that warm matte brown in the top right corner is one of my favorite matte browns I've ever used. I love that palette so much and it's just $10 pre-shipping on Amazon.

My sisters and I exchange stockings as a tradition, and since there are three of us, we each get two complete stockings. It is the best part of the holiday! There are so many good stocking stuffers to be found on Amazon and I will link some of them here for you that I have found.

Good advice is to collect small things all year so by December you have a stocking full. I keep a hanging bag in my closet and throw things in it all year. I just looked through it this weekend and there are things I don't even remember buying earlier in the year!

Some favorites:

62 cent make-up sponge

$2 lip conditioner

$2 lip gloss duo - I have this and love it.

Things that are not make up that I always love to get in my stockings include: bath bombs, facial masks, $2 headbands and maybe some fancy cocoas...

There is a big rock painting and hunting hobby right now that is exactly how it sounds. People collect rocks of all sizes, paint some really beautiful scenes (or you know, toddler level) and then hide them for others to find.

You could order or paint them and depending on your level of patience and time send her on a nearby scavenger hunt (hide them right before or leave a note for NAME to find because others will take them) or put them all in a gift box and maybe hide them all in one spot (same thing, for NAME, DO NOT TAKE, ONLY PAINTED ROCKS).

-OR-

Buy her plain rocks and art supplies to paint herself. They actually sell rocks on Amazon and at craft stores. Yup.

Painted Rocks On Amazon

Just Rocks because $$ for Amazon

I recommend getting white because they are easier to paint

Three fancy animal rocks if you scroll down to buy all three

[One $50 rock, I also saw one for $166!](Italian Landscape Painted Rock Paperweight https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B079G9F21M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_EpU8Bb1Z5WFFF)

Etsy has a lot more of a selection of course and there is a rockhunting sub around.

-AND-

My favorite bath bombs have the jewelry in them. This one was my very favorite and while not in the price range you are looking for, maybe you can make her a gift baksrt of her favorite things.

There are a lot of inexpensive Undertaker signed merch for like $20 or less.

I don't know what her makeup she likes but her favorite brand lip or eyeshadow palette is always nice.

A collectors edition of her favorite horror movie.

A Batman or other batman character funko pop.

All those together with one of the rock suggestions would be in your budget, a custom basket and you wouldn't have to hope strangers dont steal things.

> I would like to clarify that my options of purchasing safety razors are limited, as i do not reside in the US. My country simply does not use DE razors anymore, and thus it's hard for me to find or try them other places than online.

Regardless of your country, DE razors are a fairly rare item to find in retail stores which is why almost everyone buys them online. Also, very few DE razors are made in the U.S. Most of them are made in Europe or Asia so I don't see how living outside the U.S. would prohibit you from finding a good razor fairly inexpensively (unless you are in Australia, where shipping is a killer).

As for that kit, you have a cheap razor, cheaper brush, cheap (but decent) soap and Derby blades. Personally I wouldn't buy it. Even looking for super-cheap gear you can do a lot better.

If I was going to buy from Amazon UK and my budget was around $20, this is what I would go for:

Happy happy birthday!! You should buy yourself some yummy mango candy, a luxurious bath bomb, and Howl's Moving Castle. Sounds like a good way to pamper yourself for your birthday! :)

Ohhhh my GAD BATH SALTS FOR DAYZZZZZZ!! Thank you thank you thank you /u/alisonflies !!!! :)

Edit: Product list time!:
The box on the left is the Tabino Yado Hot Springs ''Milky'' Bath Salts Assortment Pack and the canister on the left is the Bath Roman Yakusen Japanese Cypress (Hinoki). Both are very milky and very soothing. The Hinoki one smells quite woodsy and outdoorsy (in a REALLY good way) and I used the light green package (there's four different onsens that the salts are "from") which had a floral woodsy smell to it.

u/SpecialSnowflakeSkin · 40 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I've struggled with depression and anxiety for the last 5ever so I didn't take care of myself properly besides showering and washing myself, anything more than the basics was a struggle tbh.

I slowly started getting into /r/asianbeauty because the multiple steps were a way to treat myself nicely and relax after all the mental torture I put myself through on a daily basis. I kind of zone out while I'm rubbing different layers into my face and then wake up the next morning feeling good about my skin looking flawless so the day at least starts on a good note.

A lot of skin related stuff is trial and error though too, depending on your skin type. So don't get discouraged if you start this and have crazy skin reactions. I went through two years of hell because my skin is dumber than a box of rocks and doesn't understand that I was just TRYING to help it. Also tbf I went crazy and went from using nothing to 12 different things on my face. But still. >_>

Sheet masks are fun and easy. They're really cheap, and the effects last like a day. Peel the paper off and slap it on your face. Pro tip, if it's hot where you live put them in the fridge for a few minutes and it feels lovely. Alternatively if it's cold, sit on one for a few minutes and it warms up.

Bath salts are as well if you have a bath tub. Those are my favorite. The smell with those are weird ftr. It smells very much like an old woman in the tin, however once it's in the water it smells very herbal and clean. They also last forever, you just use the lid to measure. I have a bath once or twice a week on especially hard days and they're so relaxing. That brand in general has nice salts if the smell puts you off. (If you're sensitive to smells, I do not recommend the milk protein one. It smells like vomit to me and it's over powering.)

I obvs don't know your story, but I think in general it's hard to get into things even if you don't have mental roadblocks. But once you start, it's totally worth it because it makes you feel good about yourself and it's something to look forward to at the end of the day.

u/monochrome_daydream · 1 pointr/crossdressing

It sounds like you're pressing too hard with the razor, or using a dull blade.

Having a good razor is a must. I like these. When you shave, you want the blade to glide over the skin, without pressing into the skin. A good shaving soap might help. This is my absolute favorite.

Exfoliating between, or prior to shaving is a big help. A good loofah should only cost a couple of bucks, but it saves you so much hassle.

Don't get discouraged. After all, "practice makes perfect". :)

u/skincareaddict92 · 4 pointsr/abdiscussion

Omg I love Tabino yado. It moisturizes my skin and it doesn't stain my tub. It smells sooo good too except for one of them that smelled like cotton candy...didn't like that one too much haha. I got these a while ago, but I really like the white ones best. I'm going to try this one once I make it through my current jar of lavender bath salts.

u/riseupagainst · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I would like this bath bomb from my "Bath stuff" WL. I would like it because sometimes I really need to relax, and because I will be moving several states away at the end of next week and will need a way to relax when it is done, plus this one is meant to help sore muscles which will be much needed after hauling all of the stuff into the new place.

u/mewfasa · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

My boyfriend and I are big Arrested Development fans so this year we're probably dressing up as George Michael and Maeby in banana stand outfits. If I could have my way, he would dress up as Tobias and blue himself and I would dress up as Lindsay and wear a slut shirt and carry around a bottle of vodka. Or make ham water. My dream costume would be the perfect cosplay version of Daenerys Targaryen. That would require a lot of money and work.

I would love this! Thanks for the contest and happy birthday!

I was once a depressed teenager who hated bathing so I'll give it a try!

INOFACE makes a Jelly Body Wash that could be fun. I'm waiting on mine in the mail right now, it's basically the same as LUSH's Shower Jellies, and they have Peppermint or Milk. (I found these on memebox)

If he can fit into a bath tub, something like this might be fun to recreate a sort of Onsen inspired experience. I'd recommend gifting these in tandem with a bath tray and maybe a bamboo plant or other small greenery to give a more 'Japanese Spa' atmosphere.

I hope this helps :)

Hi there!

I just wanted to let you know that Automod has removed your comment because it contains an Amazon referral link, which we don't allow in the sub.

Could you please edit the URL so that everything from (and including) "tag=" is removed? That way, the product page will still be visible - but no one can make a profit from the link.

Alternatively, copy this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004GINGOY

If you've done that, please reply to this message so I can approve your comment. Thank you!

I find that my Phillips Norelco does a pretty good job, so long as I clean it out with a brush after ever other use and use a shaving gel.

u/jjennings089 · 1 pointr/shaving

Shaving sucks for me. After 20 years here is my best solution. I use this:https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Norelco-attachments-skin-friendly-QG3330/dp/B00ARF42H0/ref=sr_1_6_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1498373043&sr=1-6&keywords=body+groomer

Use this to trim the long hairs before a shower.

A nice long warm shower, get out and don't dry face.

Use this shave goo... if you face is dryish use warm water and a wash cloth to help. https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Bronners-Shaving-Gel-Naked/dp/B0013NPUYO/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1498373395&sr=8-2&keywords=shave+cream+dr+bronners

This shave cream smells like peanut butter and makes me gag but it does the trick.

Had terrible tears.. gifts that will save her time so she can rest and focus on doctoring up her injuries. The focus is always on the baby but when you have bad post birth injuries you need lots of private bathroom time to have sitz baths and apply witch hazel and tucks pads. I always suggest food and booze.

Is she nursing?

Muddy Blue Bath Salts.

They smell like MAGIC, make the water a nice opaque blue (for whatever reason I don't like seeing myself sitting in a clear puddle), it has nice ingredients for when you're sore, and it actually seemed to work better for me than Epsom salts. It's expensive(ish) but you get an actual like.. oilcan of the stuff and only use a small amount at a time.

u/darius_m · 1 pointr/wicked_edge

I have bought this box three times. My only complaint would be that they have never changed up the scents/flavors in the couple years that I’ve bought them. Would be nice to have more variety. There is one flavor in the box I don’t love but my bf uses it so no harm done.

I use this. I have pretty straight hair but I find if I work in some wax and ruffle it around in the final stage of blow drying it, it stays to the side and looks messy and cool.

u/rocksinformation · 2 pointsr/FeminineNotFeminist

I use a double-edged safety razor and Dr. Bronner's shaving soap. Pros: closest shave I've ever gotten with my stubborn dark hair. Cons: have to be slow and careful, going in tiny little strokes, so that I don't cut myself.

Ill start:

equipment - i have a hidrex psp1000

treatment - i did 30-60 minutes at 30V on 100% pulse on my feet for 2 weeks almost every day to start . After those 2 weeks my feet were MUCH dryer, not completely dry but they are mostly dry. I now do 30-60 minutes at 30V 1-3 times a week whenever im playing games on my computer. I plan to do my hands soon but its much more difficult for me due to boredom and pain.

water - I used regular tap water with Epsom Salt added, i just eyeballed the epsom salt but i added it to every batch because we have a reverse osmosis machine that makes the water too soft to be used for iontophoresis

The exact epsom salt i use

Hidrex PSP1000

I fill up my water trays till it just barely covers the bottoms of my feet, unfortunately that means the top of my feet still sweat however right now its too painful to fill it to the tops of my feet and im satisfied with the bottoms of my feet being dry for now, i can even wear sandels!
