1. Aveda Botanical Kinetics™ Hydrating Lotion - Face lotion, applied to face and mustache after shower.

2. Musgo Real Glycerine Lime Soap, MR GLO - Face soap, used before each shave.

3. Proraso Shaving Soap with Eucalyptus Oil and Menthol - Shave soap, whipped up then applied to face for shaving.

4. Proraso Pre and Post Shave Cream - Pre/Post shave cream, massaged into face after washing face with MR GLO. Massaged into face again after shave.

5. Proraso Aftershave Lotion - Aftershave, applied to face either after shave or after shower. My wife likes the smell of this.

6. TABAC ORIGINAL For Men By MAURER & WIRTZ Deodorant Stick - Deodorant, masculine scent of lavender, citrus, and warm florals.

7. Colonel Conk Evernice Model 775 Chrome Safety Razor Stand - Stand, holds DE razor and brush.

8. Merkur Model 180 Long Handled Safety Razor - DE Razor, great weight and balance used to shave face.

9. Tweezerman Men's Shaving Brush - So, so brush used for applying shave soap. Would like a better brush someday.

10. Feather Hi-Stainless Platinum Double Edge Razor Blades - Razors for DE, my favorite so far.

11. Tweezerman His Moustache Scissors with Comb - Scissors and comb, after movember I decided to keep the mustache so these items help maintain its appearance.

12. Comb - Comb, used for combing hair before and after shower.

13. Aveda Men Pure-Formance™ Grooming Clay - Hair product, used after shower with hair wet or dry. Hair looks natural but styled. I'll use pomade if I want the appearance of having a more polished look.

14. Large Stainless Steel Shaving Soap Bowl from Super Safety Razors - Mug, I'd rather have a porcelain mug for class but this does the trick. I use it to soak my brush and razor before each shave. I also use it for creams when not using Proraso.

Ah okay haha. I was getting worried for a second. Buffpuffs can be pretty rough haha.

Oh okay you use the roll-on? That's actually one of the weaker options (12%) and is just aluminum chloride, baking soda to buffer any hydrochloric acid that forms from sweat reacting with the aluminum. Water and some rubbing should be enough.

I use this personally:
Secret Antiperspirant and Deodorant for Women, Clinical Strength Invisible Solid, Stress Response, 1.6 Oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TR9AK28/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_MPk7BbCY6PWCN

The scent is unisex to me (I'm a guy) and lasts a longgg time. And the type of aluminum used is one of the more gentler forms. Goes on dry as a soft solid too. The liquid roll-ons are usually the most effective as they absorb deeper usually, like drysol and driclor (which have alcohol bases) but the wet application bothers me. And the gels take awhile to fully dry as well, even if they are a bit more skin friendly.

The one I use would need some sort of soap or cleanser to remove, but I wear it all day till my shower and you could definitely apply deodorant on top of it without washing it off beforehand.

u/efallyall · 2 pointsr/AsianBeauty

Aww, I'm glad that we're not suffering alone at least! I feel like hyperhidrosis is something that few people admit to having, but I've also rarely seen anyone who sweats as many buckets as I do! Like you, my hair and face get very oily because of it :(

It's so unfortunate that the only meds which do anything at all for hyperhidrosis are actually designed for health issues that are completely different and generally much more severe lol. Gotta give our doctors points for being creative on the blood pressure and urinary incontinence pills, but it looks like the side effects just aren't worth it!

You know, I actually bought Drysol last week! So you're finding that with regular use it's helping?

I actually tried it before, but I didn't follow the instructions carefully (the way you suggested makes so much more sense), so at the time it didn't work for me. But I'm going to use it every day for the next 2 weeks and hope that my pits build up some kind of strength in that time!

PS have you ever used underarm pads? They're unfairly expensive, but whenever I feel like wearing a shirt whose material shows sweat easily, I'll plaster these suckers on and they work!

u/Entropius · 3 pointsr/malefashionadvice

The suggestion to use “Natural deodorant” is absurd. My guess is the author has zero experience with Hyperhidrosis and thinks natural solutions fix all possible problems. This reeks of being rooted in a Naturalistic Fallacy. Not only does the author tersely recommend “natural deodorant”, but they also failed to mention which one works, suggesting absolutely zero research into the subject, after all, surely there are natural deodorants that don't work, right?

For people who want a real solution, my best recommendation is to use a very powerful anti-persperant called Certain DRI, which is not to be confused with what's just a moderately powerful anti-persperant+deodorant called Certain DRI A.M. You may have to go to a Pharmacy to find it, but at least it's over-the-counter.

Things to know:

  • Certain DRI (the right one) is to be used the night-before as you are on your way to bed, not the morning of like most things you're used to.

  • It may take 2 or 3 nights to start working. (But when it works, it's damn effective).

  • May tingle a bit at first but you get used to it and won't notice that after a couple weeks.

  • Be careful not to over-use it, as that tingle could turn into a pain.

  • Annecdotally, the roll-on version is stronger than the white-stuff, but I can't personally attest to that since I haven't ever tried it.

  • Never apply it to shaved skin, or you will suffer from pain.

  • Don't overdose on the stuff like this guy and cause your sweat glans to stop working for over a year.

The Certain DRI A.M. is just like any other deodorant, and is used the morning you need it. Not particularly impressive, as it's on par with a stick of Mitchum Advanced Control.

Hopefully this will help anybody who's ruining their shirts or feels forced to wear undershirts.

http://www.amazon.com/Hammer-Essentials-Solid-Deodorant-Unscented/dp/B00E3B47ZQ

I have to vouch for this stuff. Wal-Mart sells the scented kind in my area, and they are both fantastic. Free of most of the chemically stuff you're trying to avoid, but still extremely effective (for me at least) and also pretty cheap.

To give you an idea, I can wear any other deodorant (even the "prescription strength" stuff) and still be funky at the end of the day, from just sitting in a classroom or an office all day. This stuff, I'm fresh all day and it lasts even through workouts, Summer activities, etc. At least that's been my experience.

u/ntownuser · 3 pointsr/wicked_edge

I use the TOBS deodorant matched to the specific cream/balm/splash when I shave with their products. I also use D.R Harris deodorant when I'm using their cream/balm/splash - Arlington is a great example the stick smells just like the cream/soap. Both of these brands offer non-aerosol stick deodorants that work very well (prevent smells, sweating) and are cost effective...they last a good few months.

Jack Black Pit Boss is another superb performer as a stick deodorant. It has a neutral scent and is ideal when you want to use a scented post shave balm or a splash without the smells clashing.

I only use stick based antiperspirant's as nothing ruins a good cologne or splash like a whole bunch of airborne smells and propellants from a can of pressurized deodorant as you hose your pits!

u/bounce-bounce-drop · -6 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I would stop washing with absolutely anything but a salt bar (https://www.amazon.com/100-Pure-Himalayan-Salt-Single/dp/B001G773BU). And by "washing" I mean, get it wet, rub your hands (which have been washed with normal soap) all over the salt bar, and then rub your wet face with your hands (or pat, whatever). Wait for about 15 seconds at which point your face starts to get a bit itchy (much like when you're in the ocean for the first time in a while).

Who the heck knows what may or may not be breaking out your skin, but using this definitely, at worst, only dehydrates your skin. If you have a moisturizer you're 100% confident does NOT break out your skin then use that as well. If not, I'd try to use Emu Oil (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DKK7Y0/ref=sr_ph_1_s_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1467686003&sr=sr-1&keywords=emu+oil) at night.

For me, a lot of stuff breaks me out that most people use fine...like Cetaphil. But pure salt is pretty basic and emu oil is also pretty basic. When I overuse something or create mayhem, those are what I return to until I've gotten back to neutral.

Sometimes, if I've done something like you just did, I'll add two/three drops of tea tree oil to the emu oil at night. But don't just jump into that OR the emu oil because there is a chance you're sensitive.

I don't know anyone who has a reaction to salt though.

Finished a trip myself last week and the weather was already pretty shitty towards the end. Maybe not cooling off, but for staying comfortable:

  • Travel light: leave almost everything at your hotel or store it at a locker at a train station (200-500 yen/day).
  • Wear moisture-wicking synthetic clothes. I just wore gym T-shirts -- tight-fitting so I'd at least look half-presentable -- and Uniqlo Airism underwear, which certainly lives up to the hype. (Larger sizes are only sold online and at the Ginza flagship store, however.)
  • Plan your laundry. Probably won't be an issue for you, but I went to four cities in five days and I couldn't use the hotels' laundry services since they needed a full day to take care of it.
  • You can find cooling deodorant wipes at the convenience stores which are okay but I found them sort of pointless once it reached 30C+ and humid.
u/doctortofu · 1 pointr/japanlife

Have you tried these? (link is to Amazon, but they sell them in Donki and drugstores. I sweat a lot too, and while this (and its menthol blue cousin) doesn't do much to reduce the amount (even though it says it's an antiperspirant), it helps a lot with the smell. It's definitely the best thing I found in Japan - not too expensive, so you can give it a try and see if it works for you.

u/havensk · 20 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Schmidt's charcoal+magnesium natural deodorant. No aluminum, smells great, not greasy or wet feeling. Pretty inexpensive and easy to find at Target and most other places now

u/chalkedupmonkey · 1 pointr/bouldering

The first three should take you 80% of the way.

  1. Take your shoes off when you're not climbing. Don't sit or stand around in them. This also helps keep the shape of the shoe.

  2. Wipe your feet before you put your shoes on each time

  3. Get these and put it in your shoes when you're done for the day.

  4. This has worked for some people. I've had mixed results.

  5. Some people say don't wash, but I washed my Moccs with warmish water every few months when I had them. Everything was fine. I used some powder laundry detergent to help get the gunk out, but there's probably some leather soap you can use. Laundry detergent is for cloth.
u/suenix12 · 2 pointsr/stepparents

Try having her use Secret clinical strength antiperspirant. It worked wonders for my SD19. It is supposed to be applied at night so you can easily monitor it and make it part of her bedtime ritual. Hopefully that will help to solve the problem!

u/dachxhon · 1 pointr/Outlier

I used to have the same issue and was unable to resolve it -- I trashed a bunch of very nice (non-Outlier) merino shirts. Afterwards, I decided to test a bunch of deodorants online (10, to be precise) over the course of a few months until I found one that 1) did not stain, 2) did not cause any itching, and 3) eliminated all musk. Behold, the result: Bale Secrets Natural Deodorant [LINK]. While this isn't a solution, I hope it helps!

u/info123445 · 1 pointr/Sephora

I have tried them all and the only one that works for me consistently has been Bali Secrets Bali Secrets Natural Deodorant - Organic & Vegan - For Women & Men - All Day Fresh - Strong & Reliable Protection - 2.5 fl.oz/75ml [Scent: Original Essence] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B012E9DMNQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_-YQjDbT654S58

u/Squark09 · 5 pointsr/climbing

Hey, I have the same problem and have been using antiperspirant on my hands with great effect. I've been using Driclor, initally for 1 week every day before bed, followed by just once every 4 or 5 days.

This has made a big difference without requiring surgery or anything else more drastic. I also recommend the Metolius super chalk as it has it's own antiperspirant added to the chalk

u/drogean2 · 147 pointsr/YouShouldKnow

PROTIP:

Go to any drugstore and look on the bottom shelf for Certain Dri for about $5

Follow directions (by applying nightly), put on any regular deoderant you like during the day, and enjoy being sweat free FOREVER

u/RavenBringsLight · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

My pits hate stick and crystal deodorant but they love this spray stuff. There are like 4 different scents.

u/revmamacrystal · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon
  1. So excited! soap

    Cream Soda Mix

    Pill Keyholders

    Diaper Pail Stick Ups

Those Himalaya's of the mind! Great contest!
u/ausdertraum · 5 pointsr/japanlife

Check your local drug stores plenty of them should have it like HAC drug, fit care depot etc. Amazon also has it of course.

u/x420legitsniper · 2 pointsr/malegrooming

I'm glad I could be of assistance! I rinse off and use soap every time I shower. It's only once a week that I really stand in the shower for fifteen minutes and scrub myself excessively. To make sure I don't smell I use Mitchum advanced control deodorant and Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio cologne.

u/jkskiier · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I've used a bunch, but found Arm and Hammer the best.

u/PM_ME_UR_exGFs_BOOBS · 1 pointr/AskMen

I use this stuff. It's like "hey 48 hour protection bruh" but I still use it twice a day because I don't trust the hype. Works pretty well, though.

u/cerberus-01 · 1 pointr/TooAfraidToAsk

^ This. I've noticed that it's not as easy to find as it was a few years ago. For that reason, I'd recommend going the Amazon route. To be clear, that link is just to point you in the right direction. I'm not trying to profit from it, and I welcome you to search the same product yourself.

u/Veronidge · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

There's one on Amazon but it's a spray which I'm not into.

I purchased this one off of etsy based on the great reviews.

u/NOsquid · 1 pointr/Ultralight

Some of the ones marketed specifically for feet have relatively more aluminum, but I'm sure the usual stuff from the grocery store will help.

I use a sport deodorant. It seems to work pretty well. It's also worth noting that you should apply it at night.

u/lalabats · 4 pointsr/AskWomen

I have dark armpits too. I have actually found that the schmits brand charcoal deodorant has actually lightened them substantially. If you can get your hands on it, I'd reccomend it.

Its available at most large retailers, but I'll link it from Amazon too. Hope it works for you too!

I’m glad you responded. I meant to update my post In case someone has the same question later. The saucony you linked look similar to the pree’s which were champs for me.

I ended up buying:

Pree Men's No Show Socks, White,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078WQS9W8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Ballston Unisex Lightweight All... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DR5X1ZR?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Were the standouts for price/performance. The Pree are thinner smoother socks & the Ballston are a warmer fluffier ribbed texture on the inside.

If they sucked I was gonna upgrade to merino wool or bamboo, but both keep my feet feeling dry, & the pree are cooling. both hold their shape & fit well, both seem like they will last a long time without wearing through.

I’m picky as fuck and & I really hate the feeling of moist socks that I get with cotton. (to the point I use
Neat Feat 3B Foot Saver Roll-On Antiperspirant for Feet, 2.0 Fluid Ounces https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AF7602U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_k-nhDb0HSZW3Q anytime I have to wear work boots in summer.)

u/1new_username · 1 pointr/AskMen

Me too, specifically this one

Amazon link

I like it because it is a "soft solid" and doesn't leave those deodorant stains on undershirts and seems to go on easier

u/Tomcat87 · 5 pointsr/bonnaroo

Have you tried salt sticks? I can't attest to their efficacy personally, but my friend uses them, is prone to sweating, and does not smell. I think you're supposed to use them for a few weeks before they reach their full "potential".

u/TheOldBean · 2 pointsr/Fitness

Driclors meant to be really good for this, i've suffered from excess sweating for as long as i can remember to, sitting down doing fuck all and ill have massive patches but i've just ordered this product and i'm hoping. I'll update on how well it worked if you want me to.. just pm.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Driclor-Under-Arm-Antiperspirant-Roll/dp/B004GX3AVS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1341440995&sr=8-1

u/neuenono · 11 pointsr/pics

Try the hippie-style underarm crystal thing. It doesn't smell like anything and doesn't keep you from sweating, but it does prevent bacteria from growing and thus keeps you from smelling. It's the underarm pinnacle IMO.

Edit: as someone else posted, here's an example.

Edit 2: The crystals are potassium alum aka potassium aluminum sulfate. Traditional antiperspirants are aluminum chloride. The distinction is as follows: The difference between potassium alum and aluminum chlorohydrate is that potassium alum is a much larger molecule, not thought to be absorbable through human skin. The difference between these two that I experienced is night & day - traditional antiperspirants have me reeking as soon as I miss a single day. In contrast the potassium alum crystal is very forgiving and I never smell bad, even if I miss a day. Everyone's own experience is the thing that matters here, and I'm just putting this out there since it gets so little press.

u/gkidd · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

Man none of you people know... This right here is the shit for making you dry.

I had a sweaty armpits issue, and I told my wife"that's it, I'm going for a botox treatment", she wouldn't have it because botox is poison and blah blah... She asked me to give this baby a try and if it doesn't work then do what I want.

You have no idea what it does! Just try it man...

p.s. I wish they pay me for how much I praise this product wherever this subject arises.

u/BrokeWhoregan · 1 pointr/savedyouaclick

this stuff alleges not to be, and it works great.

u/djc6535 · 1 pointr/AskMen

Pitboss by Jack Black. Great stuff. Only thing that keeps me dry.

u/BitterLumpkin · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I've dealt with this forever, it ruins everything. Here's what I've found works.

  • Pick up some Odaban. Make sure to follow the directions! This is strong stuff, one spray before bed DO NOT shower before using it. I've gotten down to using it once a week, but it will sting and itch if you abuse it.
  • Use an Anti-antiperspirant with a high Aluminum percentage. I like something with around 19%, also the paste style seems to work better and stain shirts a lot less than solids. My brand is Old Spice Sweat Defense. Use that every morning. We're trying for a 1-2 punch of sweat combat here!

I've been where you are nothing but black t-shirts and a million undershirts. This is my routine and its working pretty awesomely for me. I've gotten to where I can wear a button-up shirt without an undershirt even on the hottest days.
u/rextos · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

really? i have tried speed stick, degree, and dove, and i still sweat like a hooker in church with them :( did u try those? i heard good things about old spice, i have not tried any medical ones yet - you think old spice will work for me?

  • Do as much as you can as early as you can

  • Consider napping in the afternoon and wandering some of the streets later in the evening. Gion, Higashiyama, Fushimi Inari, and downtown (e.g., Pontocho, Kiyamachi) are gorgeous at night, even if many of the attractions are closed.

  • Do shopping in the afternoons (e.g., Nishiki Market, Shinkyogoku, Teramachi, Sanjo, Demachimasugata, Furukawacho, Kyoto Station area, etc.)

  • Buy cooling wipes like these

  • Consider renting a bicycle (moving at speed keeps you a lot cooler than walking all the time

  • Consider indoor activities like the Railway Museum, Handicraft Center, and organized activities such as tea ceremony

  • Spend time down by the river (great on a bicycle) or up in places like Kurama/Kibune, Ohara, Mt. Hiei, etc. where the temps are cooler. Northern Higashiyama is also noticeably cooler than elsewhere in the city because of the flowing water (especially along the Philosopher's Path) and abundance of shade.

  • Not directly related, but go Gozan no Okuribi and Arashiyama Touro Nagashi on the 16th.
u/isendra3 · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Are your undershirts full tee shirts, or "wife-beaters" ? Try switching between the two to see if that helps. Also, for sweat in the underarm area, try an adhesive underarm pads

I don't want all that fake flowery or fruity scent in my pits anymore. Mind you, it isn't an anti-perspirant as I'm also not trying to prevent the body's natural waste elimination processes. Hope you find something you like and works for you.

u/beardednugget · 1 pointr/bodybuilding

This stuff worked like magic for my pits, I've never had issues with back tho

u/unlikelytoapologize · 4 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

My solution to this was to wear Certain Dri to bed. Then I shower and put on deodorant in the morning, and get very minimal BO during the day.

u/Akial · 14 pointsr/bodybuilding

Do you use it against sweat or odour? If you use it against sweat, try certain dri or something similar. Use it 3 days in a row and then once a week. You won't sweat AT ALL. Just don't use it anywhere else.

u/q181 · 1 pointr/SmashBrosUltimate

I have this problem too... sweat a lot (prolly genetics), though I am overweight(BMI over 30)

before losing weight, I had to use Certain Dri (get the Solid Version, not the roll-on one... solid works a lot better)... applied before sleeping, it works somewhat

I lost around 20 pounds in the past few months, perspire a lot less(but still more than other people)... maybe losing weight would help a little(doesn't hurt to try)... I'm still need to lose around 15 pounds more to hit a BMI of 25
