27. Palmyth UV Protection Fishing Fingerless Gloves UPF50+ Sun Gloves Men Women for Kayaking, Hiking, Paddling, Driving, Canoeing, Rowing (Mountain Sky, Small)

    Features:
  • Certified UPF 50+ and SPF UV Protection is woven into the fabric and not added with artificial spray-on chemicals. UV protection factor does not wash off or wear off when glove is wet. Protect your hands from sunburn. Long cuff protect your wrist where the sleeves of your shirt won't reach
  • Partial synthetic leather Reinforced palm for a better grip and durability: Ergonomic leather in palm to gain the better grip on the fishing rods, paddles or trekking poles, and also protect your hands from blisters, calluses and insect bites
  • Features stretchy, lightweight, breathable quick drying fabric that actually keeps your hands cooler and drier than wearing no gloves at all. Plus, the unique grip and 3/4 finger length mean you can keep these gloves on all day long and you hardly notice wearing them
  • Both wrist pull and finger-tip pull make it easy to wear or remove even when the gloves are wet. Fingerless design means you retain manoeuvrability and dexterity so these gloves are suitable for fishing, kayaking, hiking, paddling, rowing, driving, canoeing, paddle board, running, cycling, and outdoor sporting activities, particularly water sports
  • Machine washable so after strenuous activity and throw them in the wash. Pair gloves with other UV clothing like sunhats and sun sleeves for total block. The breathable fabric will always retain its sun protectiveness and making it 100% suitable for fishermen, anglers, sailors, hunters, kayakers, hikers, runners, outdoor athletes and people with possible skin cancer issues

Good info, thanks for posting. After shopping around for sun hoodies I landed on this: https://www.amazon.com/ESEL-Protection-Breathable-Fishing-Anti-Mosquito/dp/B07BV13YFM

I would make the same points that you have about the TNF product, except cheaper. I’ve hiked in it, but more importantly I’ve worked out doors in it for the last week in hot humid conditions and it’s been a godsend. Sizing runs small, I’m a L and am comfortable in the XXL.

u/rabbits_is_coming · 2 pointsr/BarefootRunning

Yup, I purchased an even uglier version a while a go. They work great and are easy to have on hand just in case.

u/BizarroBednar · 3 pointsr/flyfishing

I picked up Caddis breathable chest waders last year and have been very happy with them. I cannot speak to long-term wear and reliability at this point, but the price was very reasonable and early impressions are very positive.

Get a bucket hat, no joke, I got this one and it saved me from sun-burn, but it's breathable so you won't get too hot, and does great to double as a cover for your face if you want to take a nap outside.

u/LukeSkywalker27 · 3 pointsr/pools

I own a pool business so I'm outside all the time. I bought hat this last week and it's amazing. Keeps my head cool and the sun off of my face, neck, and shoulders. I'm incredibly white so I need all the help hiding from the sun I can get.

My below zero setup is this.

Top:

Ski goggles

Neoprene mask

Jeep cap

Ice fishing jacket

Base layer long underwear

Regular t-shirt

Wool gloves

Ski gloves to put over your wool gloves

Bottom

Base layer pants

Regular pants

Snowpants

Cotton socks

Wool socks over the cotton socks

I tend to wear high top gym shoes that are about a size too big, enough room so I could fit my socks and feet into the shoes, and plus, it helps keep the snow out of your feet. Also good for driving, since it's impossible to drive while you're wearing boots.

u/elsuciodann · 5 pointsr/bassfishing

these. I've used them about three times now and they're decent! Comfortable and seem like they'll hold up well.

u/Cualer · 5 pointsr/ElectricForest

I'm working on making an LED sleeve that responds to my heart rate. It looks doable, but the only concern I have is with getting the time to complete it and with the possible battery life. So far I've modified the stock Heart rate sensor code to dump my heart rate to a standard variable "BPM," which is read every 2ms. There will be 4-5 strips of weatherproofed WS2812B's of consisting of 6-7 LEDs each sewn into a sleeve with another sleeve on top (so that the Electronics aren't directly exposed). The LEDS will pulse to my heart rate, as well as switch colors from green >yellow > orange > red to indicate how fast it's going. The problem so far is keeping the sensor in place, but I may opt for a sewn on finger glove to keep it on my finger. Other option is on my wrist, but if it rotates off my radial artery the sensor stops working :(

So far I've gotten the code to output my BPM and I've set up the WS2812B strips. The next step is to assign the BPM ranges to different colors, set up a fade effect (so that each strip lights up sequentially) and figure out the coding for the Neopixels... o_O

Cheap, vented, drys instantly and looks great. I don't even need to really change when I get to work (although I do)

I wear the Columbia shorts as well.

p.s.
Most important, doesn't look like biking kit.

You want a wading boot with felt soles. There are a heck of a lot of them out there so do your research. You may want to ask around in r/flyfishing since these are pretty much essential gear for fly fishing, and they will have some good recommendations.

Something like this is ideal in cool / kind of cold temperatures: Amazon: Flip Mitt

You can get ones that have gloved fingers where the bare fingers are too, which is nice for more northern climates.

u/space-magic-ooo · 2 pointsr/CampingGear

Eh. Low top and waterproof?

Personally I’d go with a non waterproof trail runner like a Salomon speedcross.

They make the speed cross in Gore-Tex though. Try that.

I found these as an option too

Felt is the best for slippery rocks supposedly. You see it in fly fishing boots. But I wouldn’t hike them and screw them up, not cheap.

u/codfos · 3 pointsr/troutfishing

What about this guy? A fishing vest that doubles as a co2 PFD. doubled with a lumbar pack and it could be a pretty good matchup.

u/bisonkron · 1 pointr/CampingGear

I have 4 hats like that boonie hat. They are good and durable, but if you are somewhere warmer, then expect to sweat under them. http://www.amazon.com/Frogg-Toggs-FTH101-12-Bucket-Hat/dp/B005H2DXNC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397571009&sr=8-1&keywords=frogg+togg+hat I use one of these. not as durable, but I only wear them on backpacking trips, and the first one i bought has lasted 2 trips so far with so sign of wear.

u/reddilada · 1 pointr/hiking

I wear one of those synthetic SPF rated fishing shirts they sell at sporting goods stores that have a big vent across the back. Something like this Columbia shirt.

Places where there is zero shade it's always long sleeves, pants and a hat.

My favorite hat is a Tilley LTM6 Airflo.

from amazon

It’s not a high quality item, but it should work to block the sun and hits that “fuck it” level of spousal embarrassment.

Mine literally came in today. I have my wifes work picnic on Wednesday so I am set.

Quality wise, it definitely feel cheaper than I had hoped. The springs in the clasps are pretty weak and the cording and nylon feel cheap.

I want a fuckit hat, but for now, this will do and eventually the stars will align and I will get the real thing

Edit: cross-reply, from r/Outlier just in case anyone else was wondering about alternatives

u/2_4_16_256 · 1 pointr/whitewater

I have one of these but the NRS boaters gloves also look good.
