I'm very glad to hear that :)

> Dropping of our daughter to kita is a bit more complicated with the bike especially in the rain and since the kita is so far away.

I can sympathise - half an hour on the bike, in the cold and wet, with a toddler on the back is anything but easy. The longest Kita-commute we ever had was about fifteen minutes.

> We had a steep learning curve since we never biked in California in the rain (it rains about 10 days a year in San Diego) and we definitely weren't prepared for the rain when we moved.

Other tips which may help:

  • I found that having good gloves makes a massive difference to feeling comfortable in the rain. There are special biking gloves with reinforced palms (like these ones), but any light but waterproof set of gloves will do. They also double up as your go-to gloves for cold-but-not-super-freezing weather. I break out my insulated skiing gloves for a few weeks a year, when it gets below freezing on a regular basis, but the insulation makes them stiff and heavy, so I only use them when I have to.
  • When it gets colder, I find that a light balaclava (example) works wonders. It's thin enough that it goes under the bike helmet, and the mesh around the mouth is porous, so you can breathe through it - but it keeps your face warm, and the rain/snow off of your face and neck. Children probably need something a little thicker (e.g. a Schalmütze, which is great for colder weather in general), which means the helmet won't be well seated on their heads - but that was a compromise I was willing to make.
  • I usually dressed my daughter in a some waterproof trousers (Regenhose; an example - the non-insulated ones were fine for the autumn, but we switched to the insulated ones in the middle of winter) and a rain jacket. Additionally, I usually had a cover for the child seat (to cover it when my daughter wasn't sitting in it), but I found that I could use it to cover her legs and feet when she was in the child seat, which helped to keep her feet dry. She liked it, as she said it felt like she had a blanket over her legs.
  • If you find that you're skidding on the wet ground, let a bit of air out of your tyres. While it will increase the rolling resistance a bit, it will also increase the grip on the road. Obviously, this has its limits - I draw the line at ice on the ground; I take public transport or the car for the one week a year or so, when it's just too slippery to cycle safely.

As our children are getting bigger, and particularly our eldest wants/needs to be shuttled to more and more activities, we bought an electric cargo bike this summer. It was an expensive investment - they cost about as much as a used compact car - but it's been so worth it. We can now carry both children, plus shopping/rucksacks/musical instruments/random stuff they bring home from kindergarten with ease. The kids get a great view from the front (and I can see what they get up to, which always bothered me with the trailer), the rain cover keeps the kids dry, and the rain poncho keeps me dry too. I think the last time I used the car was three weeks ago, when I went to Ikea to buy some furniture. A cargo bike is definitely not for everyone - for one thing, you need a place to park it (which is tricky if you live in an apartment), and it can be a bit unwieldy - but for us it's allowed us to leave the car at home even more often than before.

    > I know there are many people that have more then one kid and no car and are doing just fine. I guest we just need to adjust more.

Don't be too hard on yourself - we didn't get to where we are overnight. It took us years of figuring things out, and of getting out of our comfort zone, one little step at a time. You're already doing great by cycling to work and to the Kita. I even know a few families who managed to ditch their car completely - while we're getting there, I don't think we're ready to sell our car just yet.

I wish you all the best! :)

Paintball photographer here - /u/AiryDiscus linked my AMA but here it is again in case anyone didn't see it.

Really important quick and universal tips

  • I would not use a UV filter. I see only two reasons to use a UV filter - preserving resale value and protecting against dust. Telephoto front elements are thick, and since the diameter is small, it's a lot harder to break. Anything below 67mm is pretty safe as long as you have a glass filter (B+W, always always always). I would 100% completely definitely not use a UV filter for 67mm and up. It's not a matter of if they will break, but when.

  • Buy wristbands to protect your lens. I got black and white ones from my local Modell's for $6 for 2.

  • Get low. This applies to all sports photography.

    If you're shooting speedball

  • Don't stand in the line of fire of players. If you're using a lens hood, you can't get shot unless someone is aiming pretty much directly at you. You can catch a ricocheted ball off a bunker but it's very extremely unlikely.

  • Watch where balls ricochet off the bunkers. I've had bags and coolers literally covered in paint not because someone shot them, but because entire lanes of paint have bounced off of bunkers and hit them.

  • It doesn't matter what you wear. If you get shot, that player would have shot you whether you were wearing a ref jersey or a t-shirt. Just don't be stupid and take photos directly behind a player. Unless you have really good insurance, the shots look cool, but aren't worth it.

    If you're shooting woodsball

  • Don't give people away.

  • Be noticeable. Wear highlighter green/yellow/orange/whatever. Have conspicuous headgear to match. Bonus points if those wristbands you bought are a bright color.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me any time.

Edit: Here's my paintball album on Flickr if you're interested in seeing it. The 4 most recent photos are from a tournament I shot last weekend.

Unlike a lot of people here, I'll actually give some good advice.

People who say "quit being a bitch", obviously never rode regular rides with women. My girlfriend does like to ride pillion, but she does complain that it's hard to look good for an outing. The helmet messes up her hair, makeup, etc.

I have a Coolmax Skull Cap or helmet liner that I bought from the US a long time ago for a tenner. It looks something like this. I like it a lot. Look for helmet liners that cyclists use. For girls with longer hair, they may prefer a buff. In particular, my girlfriend wears stud earrings, and the buff is nice in that it covers her ears. She does look like she's wearing a hijab when she puts it on though.

None of these are really going to perfectly preserve your hair. It's best to also try a better hair product. I haven't used gel for literally decades since it's too crunchy and shiny. For me, gel is a very school-boy thing to use. Wax is too shiny. The best hair product I've used is American Crew Forming Cream which does well in helmets.

1.) This is my ultimate "If you're having a bad day, let me make you feel better" story.

Back when I was about 17 years old, I had a long distance relationship with a girl from New Mexico. We called each other, talked on AOL, etc. I really wanted the opportunity to meet her, so I hatched me a little plan.

I had recently graduated from high school and didn't get any kind of gift, so I asked my dad if I can go and visit her as my gift. More blown away when he said yes, I could not have been. I get packed and I am psyched. I haven't been out of the state in a LONG time, I get to see my girl, everything's coming up TTOD! Oh you poor, poor man...

I get to Albuquerque and am met at the terminal by her father, sister and brother-in-law-to-be. They're all really nice, told me my girl had ran to the restroom. She came around the corner, saw me and stopped in her tracks. I knew the look in her eyes. It's unmistakeable even to those who don't study that kind of thing.

She was disappointed. Big time.

I'm scrambling to delude myself into thinking this can be salvaged. We head to the car and drive to Roswell...and then to the outskirts of Roswell. BODIES ARE PROBABLY BURIED WHERE WE WENT. On the way, my girl snuggled up next to me so I'm thinking (praying) hey, maybe it was just initial shock.

We finally reach her family's trailer and I got settled before popping in her room. Her dad quickly followed wanting to have a chat with us. He asked that since we now got to see each other face to face that we take some time, feel things out and if we still feel how we did prior to my arrival, he trusted us.

Basically, I had just been given the golden ticket that millions of teenage boys dream of. I asked her if she minded if I slept in her room with her or if she'd like me to sleep elsewhere for the night. She requested the latter which was no big deal. I wanted her to be comfortable regardless of any sexual activity. After all, we had two weeks to enjoy each other. Oh, I didn't mention I was supposed to be out there for two weeks?

The next day comes, I have breakfast and find myself back in her room. We start making out a bit, but she wasn't really into it. Again, not a big deal as I've never been into pressing anyone into anything they don't want to, especially at a sexual level. I went out to the living room and chilled with her sister and BILTB as we watched a slice of the week long Tom and Jerry marathon on Boomerang. My girlfriend came out of her room and approached the coffee table before placing a folded up piece of paper on it.

I'll tell you this: I didn't know exactly what that said, but I knew I had a better chance at winning the Powerball jackpot than that note being anything remotely positive. This became even more apparent when she went back into her room and locked the door. With the thought of "Welp, may as well read this" in my head, I unfolded the paper and read five words that sent me into an emotional spiral.

My heart sank while breaking, I was sick to my stomach, tears started to well. All this because of five words: Can we just be friends?

I flew half a country, ending up in If We Kill You, No One Will Ever Find Your Corpse, New Mexico only to get dumped within 24 hours of my arrival. Fuck. Me.

I phoned home and told my parents what happened, admitting my stupidity. After working the phones, they got my sentence reduced to 11 days, and that's how it felt. Like a prison sentence. I've never been to prison, mind you, but I was alone, scared and had no way out.

Over those next 11 days, her parents were disgusted with her actions. She was around maybe four of those days. She brought a friend by to accuse me of sexual assault. Her family did everything possible to make my trip enjoyable. I'd never been so happy to have a Tom and Jerry marathon and inexpensive big bottles of some of the best chocolate milk I'd ever tasted at a nearby convenience store.

On the day I was to leave, I couldn't get a ride to the Albuquerque airport via her family because there was a sandstorm. I rode a bus through the sand and nearly missed my flight out to Denver INTL as a result. After touching down in Denver, I had to out and out sprint from one side to the other and barely made my flight home.

I arrived back home at about 11 PM. The cool, moist air felt like a washcloth slapped against my left eye which waters. That caused me to rub it raw in New Mexico.

One hell of a graduation present and one hell of a lesson learned.

2.) I'd really like to get one of these. Reason being that my father passed several years ago and he loved to play basketball. He even did so for a local high school.

With only a few tips from a friend who coaches and some YouTube videos, I'm trying to improve a skill started from scratch. I can't get a consistent shot down and think this may help. I'd hope so anyway.

Whenever I go to the court to shoot around, not only do I feel at peace as I get to be in my own little world away from the stresses of life, but I feel some level of bond I'll never have with my dad on this physical plane again. He wouldn't want me to be sad when remembering him, and whenever I shoot around, I can't help but think of him.

Fulfilling his wish, I always have fun. I don't go to a tombstone or maybe a special place and just sit. I get to play the game my dad loved, work on losing some weight and try to master a new skill.

If you're willing to do more than one item, he and I both sweat horrifically easy, so one of these would be a fantastic compliment.

Thanks for the contest and I hope you enjoyed my tale.

u/kdennis · 1 pointr/xxfitness

Have you done the skinny ones or thicker? Do you have a lot of hair? Help us troubleshoot, even if you sweat more than average doesn’t mean you can’t find a headband 😊😊😊

I would try a heavier duty one like this. Good luck!

u/Cybyss · 4 pointsr/oculus

Oculus does sell replacement facial interfaces for the Rift-S for $30. Not an ideal solution, admittedly, but you can clean the first one while someone else is using the second one on the HMD I guess.

Getting a good sweat band might help too. Another comment recommended this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FK4FS66 . It's the same kind I have and it definitely works well.

u/rjml29 · 3 pointsr/OculusQuest

I think you have it strapped too tight to your face. I don't get red marks on my face as I have it so it is lightly touching my face. It can move a touch with medium to fast side head movement but that's a tradeoff worth making to not be in pain and it generally bounces back to the sweetspot. If it doesn't, it's a very slightly adjustment.

For the record, when I first got it back during launch week, I did have it fairly tight (like how I would wear my Rift CV1) to make sure it didn't move and after 10-15 minutes I was in pretty big discomfort. Only then did I loosen the straps and saw how much better it was to wear that way.

I think part of it is both the added weight in the front and the face insert material and design. It's not a nice feeling foam.

Another thing to try is to use a headband around the Quest. Something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/poshei-Headband-Sweatband-Crossfit-Basketball/dp/B07H25M7WF/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1LT2PO7567VEE&keywords=poshei+mens+headband&qid=1566229012&s=gateway&smid=AG6PEUQEKSMVW&sprefix=poshei+%2Caps%2C169&sr=8-3

And what you'd do is you put it around the Quest's headband near where the solid arms are and then put it on your head. Your head will push up on one side of this headband which will raise up the arms a bit and transfer some of the front weight to where this strap is. It's a cheaper though no doubt less effective alternative to the Studioform strap. I use one of these types of headbands and it nice.

u/Route66_LANparty · 1 pointr/OculusQuest

Don't have a Quest in particular yet, but heavy user of Vive, Rift, Vive Pro. Using fans in the room directed at you can make a huge difference keeping you from overheating.

Other than that large thin sweat/headbands are the way to go. I use wide but thin ones like this (https://www.amazon.com/Sports-Headband-Headbands-Sweatband-Sweatbands/dp/B07F7NGWCC/). They catch alot of sweat and don't interfere with the fit. I have a basket of them near the VR space that I rotate out. Sometimes switching to a fresh headband mid VR session. :-/

I've used VRCover's products to mixed results. Overall they are nice addition options to have. But they are not the magic bullet, only solution.

u/Tidus77 · 1 pointr/running

So I currently use the Gutr headband and I find it's pretty amazing at keeping sweat from the forehead out of my eyes. There's a huge difference between running with and without it - you realize how much you're sweating when it runs downs the sides! However, it doesn't work well for sweat around the brows since that's lower than the band goes down. That being said, I've become more concerned with UV damage and now only plan to use it on cloudy days. I've just bought the Mission Neck Gaiter and the Mission EnduraCool headband. These apparently have some sort of tech to keep you cool when you activate them and have a UPF rating of 50. Unfortunately I haven't tried them out yet but I'd go with that over the Halo given that it doesn't seem to have a UPF rating.

EDIT: Another reason I love the Gutr is how easily adjustable it is!

u/drastic778 · 2 pointsr/PSVR

I agree! I’ve been using these: Self Pro Mens Headbands 3-Pack... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FK49Y7P?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share — they are a thin microfiber like cloth so they don’t push out against the headband which is nice. They do a great job at catching the majority of sweat although I have gone through two in one session occasionally.

u/pudge44 · 1 pointr/running

Hah. It’s one of these things. Admittedly not the coolest look, but really effective at keeping sweat out of my eyes. And hey, I’m already 1) bald, 2) wearing knee high neon green compression socks and 3) looking like one looks when finishing one’s first marathon. (i.e., like death), so really what does it matter?

u/griff3125 · 1 pointr/oculus

It's just a thin band, it dissipates the heat much better, I used to sweat in long sessions, this has totally countered it, and feels very comfortable.
Here's the link to what I got, yeah the pics are goofy :)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G4RQCF4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/insanewords · 3 pointsr/WindowsMR

Would love to know the answer to this as well. I've had the same issue from day one and have had to resort to wearing headbands like these whenever I game. Not the most comfortable or elegant solution.

u/jackarse32 · 1 pointr/running

well, obviously can't STOP the sweat, hehe. but i sweat like no one's business. and the worst part is when wearing glasses and i sweat on them, even just standing outside not doing anything.

when running or cycling i generally use the Sweat GUTR to keep sweat out of my eyes. it is plastic, but it's profile is minimal so still allows air/wind to cool you off.

https://www.amazon.com/Sweat-GUTR-FBW00-P-Sweatband/dp/B00JDN6O9Q

running wise tho, that's about it, i can't run with things in my hands, but having grown up in phoenix, i'm pretty much used to the heat.

when cycling tho, i'll wear a camelbak with cold water, and ice packs between the bladder and my back. before the gutr tho, i would take like 3-4 headbands with me and switch them out every 30 min or so.

also, when exercising i always wear drifit

u/Ducman69 · 6 pointsr/Vive

> I am sweating buckets.

Be careful, a few people have destroyed their Vive's with moisture. I recommend using a strong floor fan or ceiling fan to aid evaporation so sweat doesn't build up, and a sweat band is a good idea.

u/CAPTURMOTHER · 3 pointsr/oculus

A lot of people are waiting for VRCovers to come out with their faux leather VR mask for the Rift S. Both because it's better at wicking sweat and it will probably increase the device's FOV/remove the "binocular effect."

In the interim, your best bet is to buy a sweatband or sweat-focused skullcap--I've seen these suggested a few times--and swapping them out as needed during play.

Grips I have no idea on, sorry

u/BL24L · 3 pointsr/OculusQuest

Sweatbands. You'll want to stick to the thin kind such as,

https://www.amazon.com/poshei-Headband-Sweatband-Crossfit-Basketball/dp/B07H25M7WF

I picked up a set of those and they work ok.

I've also cut the sleeves off of some shirts. The sleeves work great as sweatbands and also gives you a sleeveless shirt to wear when playing for comfort.

You'll kind of look like an a-hole with both options but it's what I'd suggest. If you're playing heavy then you might need to switch bands during sessions. Also, keep a fan on yourself.

u/mattjb · 2 pointsr/oculus

Ahh, well then try using a cotton bandage inside near the lenses and see if that helps to absorb the moisture from your breathing. You could put it on your forehead if you don't want to attach it to the Quest itself. Or better yet, try using a thin moisture-wicking headband that you see athletes wear, like these:

https://smile.amazon.com/poshei-Headband-Sweatband-Crossfit-Basketball/dp/B07H25M7WF/

u/ShazbotSimulator2012 · 1 pointr/hockeyplayers

I wear one of these because I have long hair and it keeps it out of the way, but it does a good job keeping sweat out of your eyes and fits under a helmet better than most headbands.

u/livevicarious · 2 pointsr/oculus

VR Cover is good, got the leather one helps tremendously with sweating. Also, grabbed a few of these sweat bands off Amazon and they are super light and thin but still wick sweat well. The leather ones pop out and you just wipe with an antibacterial wipe when done. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G4RQD80/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/markjamesmurphy · 2 pointsr/oculus

I recommend these - they solved the halo sweat and are very comfy:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FK4FS66

It's good to get everything clean first. Pull out the halo foam pieces (they have a plastic cage on them that snaps into the halo). Pull out the facial interface. Get a container/bowl and make a solution of water and a little dish soap (like Dawn). Dunk the pieces in it and squeeze squeeze squeeze. Repeat with clean water. Squeeze and blot out the water, then dry them overnight. You can speed up the drying by blowing a fan on them.

The headbands listed above will solve the halo sweat problem. Have each individual pick one to use. The facial interface sweat problem is harder to solve until the VRcover products are released, but there are a lot of disposable masks that can be bought. Some people are peeling the foam right off of the facial interface and velcroing on other solutions meant for other headsets but I haven't tried any of that.

This worked great for me. It's super thin but it helps a lot.

I leave them at home in a little ring dish - they don't get lost there and I don't risk injury at the gym by wearing them. Emergency scenario - I put them on a necklace chain if I happen to be wearing one. Once I just tied them into my shoe laces because I didn't have a necklace on and after learning what degloving is, I wouldn't ever do any weight lifting with a ring on.

They also make wristbands with storage such as this one, but then I'd definitely inspect the quality of the seams to make sure it is solid before storing something small such as rings.

Using it. Works great. As for comfort, get a set of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H25M7WF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_fPeBDbWQTXGE0

I raced 4 or 5 hours today without a problem.

u/HulkTogan · 1 pointr/Vive

This is the headband I bought. I place is right underneath my hairline for best absorption.

I also saw someone recommend this one.

u/habbosh · 1 pointr/orangetheory

Wow wow wow...THIS ONE, ignore that it says for men. It never moves and I have never worn anything that's so absorbent, soft and comfy... Never go to OTF without it!!

I am playing BoxVR and it makes me DRENCHED after a workout. (I am out of shape and some extra pounds too)

I just got these in today to help with sweat, and they do help some, but i still overpowered them:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H25M7WF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I think i will be buying the pleather face replacements to help with it cause right now i need to let it dry out after a BoxVR session. Most likely: https://vrcover.com/product/oculus-quest-foam-and-interface-basic-set/

u/nmezib · 5 pointsr/ValveIndex

Cool down your place more, play with fewer clothes on. I also find that these sweatbands really help.

u/heinzenfeinzen · 1 pointr/curlyhair

Posting some pics would be helpful. My son is growing his curls out and has found these very useful: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AK22GJU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They have silicone on the inside to keep them from slipping. You might be able to find something similar at WalMart, CVS, etc.

u/yibble_ · 1 pointr/oculus

I've found these to be pretty helpful in soaking up some of the sweat: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074NZSXW6/

I just use these small battery packs and attach them to my legs with the wrist bands. I feel like this is a better solution than having super long cables all over your body. Also, these would give you about 20 hours of battery life. If you need more than that you might need to take a break.

I actually put this in my frunk with the tracker dongles in it so that I don't have to ever worry about interference.

u/Artrw · 1 pointr/running

I'd like product recommendations from anyone that runs in the winter.

I'm just getting into running, so I don't want crap-tier quality, but being a little closer to the cheap side of the cheap-quality continuum is okay with me.

I have a good running jacked, but I'm going to need some thermal running tights, a long-sleeve tech shirt, and a headband.

The headband will be the hardest because I have an abnormally large head. Most headwear does not fit me unless it is explicitly advertised as oversized or XL. For reference, bought this headband a couple years ago and it was so uncomfortably tight that I never used it.

Thanks in advance!

I use this:

Temple Tape Four Inch Moisture Wicking Workout Sweatband; Absorbs & Evaporates Sweat 8x Faster - Classic (No Pocket) - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N3T0UGE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_DRT9ybTPGK3G9

I friken love it!

u/tr3at_yo_self · 3 pointsr/running

If you're a lady, sports bras make great key holders when you don't have pockets.

I've seen wrist wallets around, that would hold 2 keys. Or are you looking for a phone armband that will also hold 2 keys?

u/bigmeatsammich · 4 pointsr/FierceFlow

Also practice TKD, but mostly play basketball. Buy a pack of those Nike headbands from like Dick's Sporting Goods or Amazon. They work well for me. Idk how long your hair really is, but headbands and ties are going to get loose. It happens. Get through a set or two and fix your hair if you have to. Its just something that happens. It becomes much more manageable once its ~shoulder length.

u/h82blat · 1 pointr/PSVR

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am going to use a bandanna + fan and also ordered these sweat wicking headbands: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074NZSXW6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use a Sweat GUTR headband. Works great for me.

u/madwizard94 · 1 pointr/streetwear

So what is the general consensus on headbands like these:

https://www.amazon.com/Nike-Dri-Fit-Head-Tie/dp/B008C2ATPY

started wearing one since my hair's getting long and i like them.

any reason we don't see them more often?

u/dunger · 1 pointr/AndroidWear

That is how i broke mine. Mountain biking. Snagged it on rock when I crashed. The band ripped half way through. Most of the time I wore a wrist band over it. Like this
http://www.amazon.com/Nike-Swoosh-Wristbands-Black-White/dp/B008C27QY6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1463608719&sr=8-2&keywords=wrist+band

But this one day I did not wear it. I used this Loctite plastic bonding system to fix it. http://www.amazon.com/Loctite-Plastics-Bonding-Activator-681925/dp/B000Y3LHXW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1463608838&sr=8-1&keywords=loctite+plastic+bonding+system This stuff is like magic. Worked awesome. But I had other scuffs on the watch from the crash and ended up selling it.

u/Sinistar83 · 2 pointsr/PSVR

I bought these back in June because they were cheap for a 2 pack
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074NZSXW6/
But they kinda slide around under the forehead part of the headset, so instead lately I've been using a sleeve I have torn off from an old t-shirt and it covers the forehead and backhead pretty well underneath the PSVR headset padding.

something like this and stock faceplace. sweat isnt a problem anymore during a vr session for me.

u/jeffreywilfong · 1 pointr/hockeyplayers

I've been wearing these this past season. They work fairly well. Holds an unbelievable amount of sweat. Wring it out once or twice if you need to.

I just thought about this problem today and started to look at accessories for runners. I found this weird non absorbent head band. Very simple design, basically a channel to collect sweat and rinse down the sides of your head.

Please tell me about it, if you want to give it a try.

I bought this on Amazon for that exact reason! I keep it in my gym bag so that I always have it, and they put it in there and wear it on my wrist at the gym. I'm too paranoid to leave it in the locker room lol

u/notjoeygreco · 5 pointsr/pelotoncycle

I had the same problem and bought these, they work great:
poshei Mens Headband (4 Pack),... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H25M7WF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Try this also as it absorbs sweat very well.

Invest in these headbands. Bought a few packs & been using them since I bought my vr for fitness games.

u/cubeballer · 15 pointsr/nba

I think it might be one of these https://www.amazon.com/Nike-Dri-Fit-Head-Tie/dp/B008C2ATPY they sell them at Hibbett’s Sports if you have one near you, or prob a Nike outlet or other sport stores. They’re just long pieces of dri-fit material that are cut an angle on the ends, you wrap them around your head then tie it. I have one and wear it when I hoop, would recommend!

u/SackityPack · 3 pointsr/Vive

From my own experience most everything comes from the forehead region and beads down into the face cushion.

Is there that much sweat from below the face cushion?

This one of the ones i've seen recommended for VR. I don't have first hand experience, but I wanted to toss some ideas out there.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FK49Y7P?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

u/two7s_clash · 2 pointsr/yoga

I really like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Nike-Dri-Fit-Head-Tie/dp/B008C2ATPY/ref=pd_sim_sg_8

I also like the wider Nike tennis ones. I think they look a little dumb, but they absorb a crazy amount of sweat.

u/togu12 · 1 pointr/hockeyplayers

I haven't modified any of my gear (except for waxed laces or a TackiMac grip) but the one thing I'll say about sweaty forehead/dripping is to consider a skullcap or headband instead of the pads. I fought with sweat dripping into my eyes and ended up buying a sport headband/sweatband for [$10 from Amazon] (https://www.amazon.com/Tough-Headwear-Mens-Headband-Midnight/dp/B01G4RQCF4) and haven't had any issues since. It does get gross and full of sweat after a game but throw it in the wash and you'll be good to go for next game. Plus, if you have longer hair, it keeps it out of your face for a normal workout or walk/jog/run.

u/Lollygreen · 2 pointsr/PSVR

I recently bought PSVR after trying Beat Saber on a friend's Oculus Quest. No regrets whatsoever. This game and others are so much fun.

Beat Saber can be such a workout that I ended up buying these sweatbands so I didn't get the headset all sweaty:
