Okay, that makes more sense. It looked a bit odd when everything is placed to the right, but it makes sense now considering your gf is using the left side of the table.

Im retarded. I was looking right next to the thrash bin to the right, between the trash bin and the right table leg, i thought it was the side panel of some sort of drawer but i realized its your wall... Sorry :)

Ah yes. I now see the Kinect with the very visible Xbone logo. Again, im retarded :)

Honestly the most easiest and convenient way is to get a new table, preferably one thats L shaped. But i understand money doesnt grow on trees so i wouldnt recommend that.

Is the Google Pixels charger just an micro usb cable?

How do you charge your fitness tracker?

u/Imlulse · 1 pointr/headphones

No, but I read good things about it when that controversy about the knockoffs and how Amazon wasn't doing enough (to keep them separate, let alone put a stop to it) cropped up a little while ago. I think there was a thread about it here, but it got around the tech news cycle. I almost bought one on principle to support a small business...

If I had any high shelves near my desk I'd probably have one as it would be ideal, there's not much in the way of furniture near my desk but another desk (in L or perpendicular, but not right next to each other) and a small file cabinet w/two drawers atop of which sits my PC desktop (cube case, Corsair Air 540). With one exception they're all display-like desk stands.

I started off with a not-inexpensive (like $30?) hand towel holder from Crate & Barrel, the darn thing is supposed to be stainless steel and made for bathrooms and it still has a little bit of rust, bleh... Looks nice and works but the center arm slips in between the headband cushions of the HD 600 so that stand got repurposed before long. I think it's holding actual towels now at my parent's.

Atop my PC I have the Silverstone one, it's priced kinda ridiculous (tho I got it a bit cheaper) but it is solid as heck. I seldom exaggerate build quality just because something is metal, but this is made out of thick chunks of aluminum. I didn't really get it because of that tho, I just thought the shape of the top arm and the fact that it has space for 2 headphones was ideal, and so I have my HD6XX & gaming headphones on it.

I tried maybe 1-2 other ones that have since disappeared from Amazon and from my place, and an Omega style (but a solid block) wood one from Massdrop which I didn't like much (the finish wasn't as nice as depicted but not terrible enough to return). I had the Brainwavz acrylic one in the shape of the Omegas too, I keep it around for photos or something. (it was cheap tho, I dunno what the current vendor is thinking)

Currently still in use there's the elago which does look pretty stylish but might be even more overpriced than the Silverstone tbh (the latter is way sturdier, the elago does come assembled tho), it's on my nightstand for whatever makes it's way there (holding E-MU/CAL PHs atm).

The other one still in use and my most recent purchase is this Jokitech, actually ended up getting two of them, I think this is one of the better values as far as minimalist metal stands... And the top portion easily has the best shape of all (maybe a tie with the Silverstone which will more easily accommodate really large headbands). It's well cushioned and will be gentler on headband padding than most things I've seen.

Those are holding my HD 600 & PM-3 in the living room... I also have a clamp style stand on the secondary desk, mostly for temporary use since the amp is on the main desk. It has the same kinda pleather padding as the Jokitech (just less of it), I think Sennheiser actually used to sell the very same stand under their name.

Pretty sure that adds up to more stands than headphones (even if I were to pull out my XS from their case and some old/unused headphone out)... Like I said, do as I say and not as I do kids! Get you some wood, some skills, and make a stand for $10 like ishca.

I'm slightly older if that really matters. Here's my advice.

One thing you can do right now without buying anything is to remove the stickers off of your laptop. Seriously, it makes a difference.

For all my recommendations I'm going to list price first as I imagine budget being a concern.

$5 - Do you only use the external drive when at your desk? If so, mounting it to the corner of the desk, the wall, (or if you ever pick up an external monitor, the back of that) might look cleaner.
I use this stuff to stick things - https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-051141397252-Extremely-Mounting-414P-ST/dp/B018GKCI82/ You can find it at stores like Target.

With all the cables coming out of your laptop, I think a USB hub would really help your setup as all of the cables would go directly into one place. If your laptop has a USB-C port and supports charging over it, you can get a USB-C hub so you can connect peripherals and charging over one cable.

$15 - If you don't have USB-C, something like this looks good - https://www.amazon.com/Anker-4-Port-Macbook-Surface-Notebook/dp/B00XMD7KPU/

It has four USB 3.0 ports and is very clean and small. However, the cable is a bit short.

Around $79 - If you do have USB-C, I have this hub and it's pretty good, however the cable is short and can feel a bit loose at times.

$25 - A basic colored mousepad might look cleaner if you want to go for that look. I have this mousepad and recommend it, but it's all personal preference.

$35 - I think you should pick up a headphone stand so the grease and oils don't get on your laptop screen, I recommend this one - https://www.amazon.com/Satechi-Aluminum-Headphone-Stand-Holder/dp/B019PI9QFC/

It gives you three extra USB 3.0 ports, a headphone jack and comes in four different colors, and has a solid aluminum build. If you don't need those extras, this stand is still aluminum and comes in at $12 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GZFX6ND/

Probably around $100-$150 - The biggest upgrade you can make here I think is an external monitor and keyboard. It would improve your setup's ergonomics significantly. This desk looks pretty small, so I would recommend something no bigger than 24 inches in screen size. The resolution of the screen and such would depend on what you want and your laptop's power. However, I highly recommend at least 1920x1080 resolution.

$25 - If you ever do decide to upgrade to an external monitor, you probably wouldn't be able to use two screens on your desk, and the closed laptop would take up way too much space. I would recommend this laptop stand - https://www.amazon.com/Vertical-Adjustable-OMOTON-Aluminum-Chromebook/dp/B0769G51R7/

I have it myself and it's very well built, adjustable, and makes things a lot cleaner if you use an external monitor. It has branding on one side but if you flip it you can just use the side with no branding so it looks super clean. You can make it very stable on the desk with some simple double-sided tape.

That's all I have for now. Enjoy your setup!

u/MrPowerglide · 2 pointsr/DIY

That will make it look great and a triple monitor would definitly make a difference. I would center the monitors and use some cable management.
And I saw this on YouTube video recently that made a clean look. It's a big mouse pad that makes come together.
Also I can see that you got a headset on the desk, I would recommend that headset stand. These small details will definitely make a clean and elegant look so the desk really can shine and stand out.
Great job by the way!

u/__BIOHAZARD___ · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Thanks! Its the Satechi Aluminum headphone stand (https://www.amazon.com/Satechi-Aluminum-Headphone-Stand-Holder/dp/B019PI9QG6) it has 3 usb ports and a headphone port, i love the functionality and elegance it brings for pretty cheap

u/Bigguy338 · 10 pointsr/AmazonUnder5

I wrote this comment with gaming in mind, but if that's not really your thing, I can try to help find something else.

A decent wireless mouse will run you around $3-5 with a wired one being about $10. Budget headphones or if you already have a pair, headphone mounts will run about $10-20 each.

You might be able to find a decent mousepad for your budget but nicer ones are $5-10. Flash drives are on sale right now for $8-10 from Sandisk and a standalone microphone is around $10.

Not sure if the credit on your account is due to expire or not, but I'd use this site to monitor any items you may purchase as it will alert you via email to price drops.

If the credit will not expire, however, I recommend saving it and putting it towards a more expensive purchase as $3.46 is a bit limiting.

u/NetLibrarian · 1 pointr/ValveIndex

https://www.amazon.com/Linkidea-Headset-Storage-Headphone-Controllers/dp/B07FRQT211/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=vr+wall+mount&qid=1569949219&s=gateway&sr=8-4

This wall mount is simple to install, soft and flexible enough not to hurt anything, and adjustable to fit your headset and controllers. I use it in combination with some magnetic breakaway cables for charging the controllers, and it's great. Just make sure to store the headset 'looking up', this protects the lenses and keeps any vr-workout sweat from running inside the guts of the headset after use.

u/HunkyChunk · 2 pointsr/headphones

I have this for my headphones and have been pretty happy with it. I have it on my left speaker, since I don't have a lot of room on my desk, and I enjoy the metallic look a lot more than plastics

My favorite game of all time!

I purchased this one and Its been surprisingly useful. I was turned off by its cheap appearance when I opened the box, but after assembly its actually quite nice. also has curved accents in the back for coiling cables.

u/jim2point0 · 1 pointr/battlestations

It's actually a cable holder doodad by NZXT. But it's magnetized and works great for holding my headphones as well.

u/behemothmanface · 1 pointr/headphones

This. Solid, light, and small footprint. Fits my HUGE HE-400i's comfortably. USB speeds are equivalent to mainboard. couldn't be happier.

u/FeelingPinkieKeen · 1 pointr/AnimeFigures

Sorry for the late reply, fell asleep.

  1. Dual Stand

Comes in pieces and needs to put it together with screws. Pretty sturdy and very glossy but is in the right height to have my headphones hanging with the wires.

  2. Single Stand with USB

Has some nice wire holds in the back and 3 USB ports on the bottom if you're in need for more USB slots.
u/magikarped · 1 pointr/battlestations

I'm pretty sure it's this one, pretty spiffy if I may say so my self.

u/SgtPainguin · 1 pointr/EarSpeakers

Ooh very cool. BTW you should think about getting one of these stands > https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Z9X236M?psc=1 instead of the STAX stand. I don't see how that could be good for the headband longterm.

u/sammy0h · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

We both need this headphone stand because we like to appear organized at least sometimes lol

u/I_want_all_the_tacos · 3 pointsr/headphones

Haha yeah it is kind of a weird headphone stand. It is this one. The USB ports are there because it can be a USB hub that you connect to your computer and it also has a 3.5mm jack, though I haven't bothered trying it out. It is nice as a stand though.

u/RedstoneRomel · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

It's a Satechi Aluminum Headphone Stand! It's really cool because it doubles as a USB hub and has a 3.5 mm Jack if you want to stream your headphones from the stand

PS, the computer will recognize the stand as speakers, so you might want to disable that when you plug it in

u/FriarDuck · 1 pointr/AskBattlestations

If you get tired of the hook and want something freestanding, I recently bought this and have been really happy with it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009X6G646/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Maybe an Ikea cabinet to go under the desk, you can take two legs off and prop the desk on two legs on one side and the cabinet on the other, that will help with moving things off your desk (electrical tape, Xbox game, controller)

u/PhDcomic · 3 pointsr/battlestations

Thanks! It's a basic stand I got off Amazon.

u/eudisld15 · 4 pointsr/headphones

There's also this one.

There you go..

u/Kolanj · 1 pointr/hackintosh

Yea, I've tried a bunch of different fixes, so I just checked my System Preferences, and I noticed it showed "USB Audio Device" and I kept disconnecting various USBs to see what it was identifying as my audio device, it turns out it was this. So I plugged my speakers into the port on the linked unit and it started working...So I guess this is a workaround? I would still like to get the MB port working instead of this one. I tried unplugging this USB and restarting, it didnt detect my MB ports =/.

u/SubmersibleGoat · 2 pointsr/battlestations

This is the stand I am using. Hopefully it doesn't put a crease in the padding on my headphones.

u/Windows95SalesRep · 2 pointsr/modular

Here it is! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DR9DHPY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's a little messy because it doesn't have the grooves that separate cables like some cable hangars but it works fine for me.

u/inserterikhere · 5 pointsr/Headphoneporn

That stand looks like the one I have. This most likely is the one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H31E036/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9dM3CbSK3F0Z5

u/arkhira · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

It might be overkill for what you initially wanted... However Corsair has this RGB headset stand...

u/aurelius94 · 1 pointr/battlestations

This response is getting a bit repetitive right? Like the other bits, it was from Amazon.

Main reason for my choice was matching it with the walnut Karlby desk.

It's all aluminium and has 3 x 3.0 usb ports, I have a short silver braided micro USB cable I use to charge my headphones when they're not in use which looks really tidy.

u/PepFontana · 1 pointr/ValveIndex

After looking around today. I came to a very similar conclusion. I'm leaning towards this: Linkidea VR Headset Storage Rack/Headphone Holder, Wall Rack/Wall Mount/Wall Clip/Wall Bracket/Wall Hanger/Hook VR Headset Helmet Touch Controllers (2pcs) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FRQT211/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Lch8CbQ25N0NV

What would you say about this one?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019PI9QD4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Its the one I currently have for my Sennheiser HD600s. Never thought about the stand damaging them, and would appreciate a knowledgeable perspective.

u/drunkferret · 5 pointsr/WindowsMR

That sucks. I didn't know that happens.

If you end up getting another pair get some of these wall hooks. Then the screen'll be up against the wall and it auto-sleeps after some minutes of being still. No reason to unplug it really...just don't put it in the sun I guess.
