5. Alpha Industries Men's Slim-European Fit MA-1 Flight Jacket (M, Black)

    Features:
  • AUTHENTIC DESIGN - The MA-1 fighter pilot flight jacket was the first military bomber jacket to cross over into civilian fashion. Today’s current version still hews close to its roots, with classic military specifications and designs from the original outerwear for U.S. Air Force and Navy pilots. The same dedication to quality when Alpha Industries started in 1959 is here in the MA-1 jacket today.
  • INDIVIDUAL STYLE - Signature “Remove Before Flight” red hang tag on the sleeve utility pencil pocket and the Alpha Industries logo on the zig-zag zipper extension let you show off your style. Knit rib cuffs, collar, and waistband, two lower flap pockets, two interior welt pockets, and shirred sleeves round out the look.
  • FORM & FUNCTION - Reversible flight jacket with water-resistant nylon on both sides and double zipper pulls. Staying true to its original design, the MA-1 interior reverses to an Emergency Orange lining that was originally designed for downed pilots to signal for help.
  • FIT & RECOMMENDED USE - MA-1 flight jacket has a Slim fit in the body and sleeves and sits just above the hip at waist length. Perfect as a layering piece in mild or moderate weather. This jacket is also unisex: true-to-size for men’s core fit, recommended to go two sizes down for women’s fit.
  • MATERIALS & CARE INSTRUCTIONS - 100% Flight nylon shell, 100% nylon lining, and 100% polyester fill. Dry clean only.

You most likely won't catch her feeding.

We just had a litter of 6 about 2 months ago, and I only caught her feeding twice.

They feed late at night/early in the morning usually.

The absolutely best way to help the babies is keep mom healthy and happy. She knows what's best for the buns.

Keeping the box clean is important, but it doesn't have to be done daily. During the time our 6 were in the box, we cleaned it out a few times and made a new litter box for them once.

Make sure the doe has all the hay she can eat. Alfalfa is good to give her right now. And PLENTY of water. We had to start refilling our large bottle twice a day.

Something that will help the buns socially is for you to talk to them from the get go. Let them know humans are normal parts of the environment and that we're not something to be feared.

Some people like to pick them up and handle them from birth. We waited about a week before we started to take them out of their nest to have human time.

A fleece hat makes a great baby bun carrier and it keeps them warm. We'd let the little guys sleep on our chests for 15-30 minutes at a time. We tried not to go longer than that because we didn't want to upset their mom.

If you have any questions, just ask. I'm not an expert, but I've spent hours and hours and hours reading up on rabbits and reproduction so we could give our guys the best chance possible.

Btw, 6 born, 0 deaths, 3 boys, 3 girls, all happy and healthy. :)

Yes. They are decent guns made for novice/intermediate players.
Personally, if I were going to buy a G&G I would just as quickly go for a JG because

A) you may get lucky and get a blue high torque JG motor in the gun. These are arguably the best high torque motors on the market.(Most of the new guns you buy come with them! Just make sure the one you are buying says "high torque" or "400 FPS model" or whatever. Those will usually come with the high torque motor.

B) You could possibly save a little bit on buying the JG instad of the G&G(They are both fairly equally priced.)

The difference you may find is that the JG will use a high quality polymer for the top and bottom part of the gun. Many people like this because it helps decrease the weight a little bit.

The G&G's can be found with metal upper and lower receivers. These usually run closer to $200 though from what I've seen.

Basically, both things are used in real life (polymer receivers on AR's, Metal receivers on AR's) so it comes down to personal preference and budget for YOU. (you could always get a gun with polymer receivers out of the gate and then later spend 30 bucks for replacement receivers to make your gun complete metal upper and lower body.)

p.s.
did you get my private message by any chance?

EDIT: As for the pants, yes...those will work. If I were you I would look into "Emerson built in kneepad pants"(i am not sure the actual name but googling that should help narrow down where to find them).

They are high quality pants you can get in a couple different colors (i have them in multicam which I use).

Basically, very comfortable kneepads are built into the knee that can be removed and put back on if you would like. These are not very noticeable at all when playing, do not have to be held on with straps that go around the back of your leg and may become uncomfortable, and your knees are completely protected when kneeling and whatnot (this is extremely important as you will be on your knees a LOT and eventually you can start feeling pain and in general it is just uncomfortable to sit on your knee without protection for extended periods of time).

Also, if you are not held to a uniform requirement, you may want to look into the "contractor look" (tan pants with pockets, black shirt, and then your plate carrier and whatever boots you would like to use (I use herman surivors that I got on sale at walmart. they look great and match perfectly...also are very comfortable)

This will help keep prices down a bit and it is a very cool looking loadout (everytime I see someone wearing contractor I think it looks really cool/badass. I personally do not have the tan pants yet but plan on getting some this week because I already have THIS shirt which I can put patches on the sleeves.

How tall are you/do you have long arms?

u/SweetTeaBags · 2 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

As far as work boots go, for getting your men's size equivalent, I have usually gone down a size and a half and had an accurate fit. So if you wear an 8 1/2 like I do, then you'd be a 7 in men's. Danners are my absolute favorite brand because although they're expensive, they last a long time and are far less painful to break in!! I still have my 8 year old pair from when I was enlisted!

One brand of cargos (I know you said work pants) I found that remotely fit properly were the Rothco brand. They're cheap and they have a way to cinch in the sides for a better fit. You look to be on the smaller side, so I'd probably get a small if you decide on those. I ordered the medium when I was in my best shape. Depending on how much it costs to tailor the dickies, I'd just do that imho if it doesn't take too long. I'll check my work-issued cargos as well because those fit me beautifully and they weren't standard cheap work pants.

Edit: For clarity

u/Anime_Connoisseur98 · 1 pointr/techwearclothing

Yeah, my tactic is to just buy actusl military equip lol. Btw I would also recommend these pants, they're kinda expensive but still cheap in tech related terms, and your phone perfectly fits in the extra pockets. Helikon-Tex also has some nice tops. If you find any good cheap pants lemme know tho haha

u/thebutz · 4 pointsr/homeless

polypropelene is great stuff, it's a fabric made from some type of rubber material that is fantastic at retaining body heat and doesn't absorb water. however it melts really easily, if you pick a metal pot off an open flame it'll melt right through.

http://www.amazon.com/Black-GI-Polypropylene-Glove-Liners/dp/B000HKPFS0/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1415566310&sr=8-4&keywords=polypropelene

a pair of those with a pair of wool/polyester is a great combo. i've used polypro socks underneath wool socks while hiking and it works great at keeping sweat from soaking through everything. pretty much the best base layer i've found.

u/nj1105nj · 1 pointr/streetwear

Not op, but I just got one a few days ago and I love it so far. I'm usually on the shorter end of a large for clothing, and it's baggy enough to layer with a pretty thick hoodie and still look good. Overall the jacket quality is good so far and looks really nice. I'd definitely wear something under it though, as the material isn't that comfortable.

u/Starky357 · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

I personally love field jackets! You can get one online for under 100$, or go to pretty much any thrift shop, salvation army, second hand store, etc. and find one. Keep in mind I live in the US so I am just assuming. But I live in New England, I wear it in -10 degree weather, snow, rain, mega wind. And mine doesn't even have the wool/warm liner that can be zipped in. They have like 8 huge pockets, have hoods (that can also have liners), button cuff adjustment, and they really go with anything. Without the liner and like a Henley, it's great for Autumn nights, not just winter.I have had mine for like 5 years, and is from a Vietnam vet who for it for 3 years over seas. It will probably out live me, because these coats are indestructible.

If you are a girl and not a guy, these look really cute with jeans or leggings, and kind of have that "giant sweater" look.

Edit: P.S. For anyone else, seriously make sure it is military surplus, these were made to save lives in Korea, make your fashion functional, the other jackets might make you look cuter, but honestly, Father Winter won't care when you break down in a snow storm with no cell service. These are like 80-100$ and I would put it up against any other cold weather jacket.

u/Ferrard · 3 pointsr/airsoft

Welcome, and good luck!

Since you're an AK user, if you ever find that crossdraw-style vest getting too hot or bulky for you, I'll point you towards the Chinese Type 81 chest rig - 4 AK magazine pouches plus 2 grenade pouches for misc. storage, all in a quiet, lightweight little bundle! You'll have to find another solution for your pistol, but I'd recommend getting a good hardshell holster for that anyways.

General rules of thumb:

  1. No rifle is complete without a good sling

  2. No pistol is complete without a good holster

  3. Be fast and aggressive - you're not actually going to die if you get hit

  4. Be honorable and have good sportsmanship even if someone else doesn't - everyone has a lot more fun if they're hearing "Great shot!" from across the field instead of "Call your hits!"
u/katarokkar · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I am torn between two bomber jackets that I've narrowed down. The Alpha Industries Men's MA-1 Slim Fit Flight Bomber Jacket and the Levi's Men's Ma-1 Flight Jacket. Both look awesome from the pictures and ratings but I would love to know if anyone here has had any experience with either of them. I'm partial to slim fits rather than the poofy jackets they traditionally come it.

Any input would be welcome. Thanks everybody.

Welp, first things first. Happy Birthday!

I would very much like the Quick Release Belt, (this thing), on my Paintball List.

As for why, I'd like it because I kinda need it. We're playing paintball in a few weeks, and I need that to help me hold more paintballs on the field. Less paintballs means an unhappy me...

Anyway, did I mention happy birthday? No? Oh...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

u/M_tridactyla · 8 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

You're going to freeze in that coat.

If you can sacrifice some style for LOTS of warmth, I really recommend military surplus.

The M-1965 field jacket. It's super warm for cheap (I wore mine today in -10 windchills and was toasty with just a sweater underneath), and is vaguely stylish-ish in that it's military gear and military inspired coats are really trendy now.

The only downside is that it doesn't have a real hood, so you need a really good hat. It does have a thin hood that zips into the collar that you can pull out if it's brutal outside and it helps a bit.

If you want warmth, cheap, with a hood, try an N-3B snorkel parka or other military parka.

AFAIK none of these has any wool. They are all just cotton/nylon/other synthetics.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/Cringetopia

Yeah, I was thinking about the mattress covering sheets, but as far as the actual sheet that goes between you and the comforter (which is an American thing apparently) you could always use shirt stays passed under the mattress if the tuck doesn’t work for you.

Vanguard Shirt Garter 2 Pair Original New Black Military Issue Heavy Duty (Shirt S... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DJY59F0/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_mshRDbA3HQFWW

Also, I encourage all people wearing tucked in shirts without a jacket use these. Wrap them around your legs in the direction you want them to pull and attach the bottom clip to your sock. Be patient until you figure it out and get used to them. They make you look soooo much better in dress attire.

u/ToSeeOrNotToBe · 1 pointr/AdvancedRunning

It's worth trying, but keep in my u/postHocCertainty's points below. He's right, regardless of the downvotes.

I have both wool and synthetic, and run/hike/backpack/camp in both. Both are fine. Wool excels for multi-day trips because it doesn't hold the stink; even treated synthetics stink eventually. But for one run, that's not a consideration...it's just personal preference.

I run in merino tops sometimes, but one of my favorite warm shirts is actually one of the cheapest...the military issue waffle shirt.

I've seen some people mod their helmets and such, that took me too long in order to set it up. However, the best thing for me was a beanie, I like the puff ball ones with the designs and it is saggy enough to protect the head. Here is the facewrap that I wear. It is nice and comfy, and if you dip it in ice water, keeps you cool. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/Condor-MULTI-P-Multi-Wrap/dp/B0086UB82U

Lightwash Jeans - $15 w/ Club Cali Code

Grand Total = $188, with room left for shipping. (I didn't include the H&M 20% off code so this could be a bit cheaper)

Edit: Also, thrifting and a tailor/sewing machine is a great alternative to the jeans. You can make this $20 cheaper by thrifting a pair of jeans and bringing them to a tailor ($8+) or having your moms taper it (priceless). With that $20, another good piece would probably be a layering piece like a camo jacket.

u/TheBigRedSD4 · 10 pointsr/news

German army field jackets are pretty popular in surplus stores, the cammo pattern looks pretty rad and they’re usually cheaper than the US military gortex tops.

Cotton as in a boonie hat?

A boonie hat will soak up water/sweat to help cool you off, and a straw hat will allow more airflow to help cool you off.

u/PriusCop · 1 pointr/securityguards

By far the best purchase I’ve made https://www.amazon.com/Condor-Tactical-Fleece-Watch-Black/dp/B00F9IGIKO

I love those damn things. I can be inside a warm car and still have it on and not get overly hot, while I can be outside during my whole shift and feel warm.

u/saffir · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

Bought these and they work wonderfully

More comfortable than I expected

u/Vijchti · 7 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Option B: just adjust the grip strength of the shirt stay clasp.

It takes about 5 seconds to complete. Inspect the metal clasp that attaches to your shirt or your sock. You should see that one of the pieces is bent into a kind of L shape. To increase the grip strength, bend that inside piece so that it's more perpendicular.

This can be done by opening the clasp, inserting a thin piece of hard material (like a small metal nail file) through the back of the clasp, and then closing the clasp slightly. Small changes can have very large effects; don't overdo it.

Note that I'm talking specifically about this style of shirt stay. They only cost about $10 and they last for years with everyday use. You just need to tighten them from time to time as the elastic gradually stretches.

u/zxj4k3xz · 1 pointr/airsoft

The goggles are ANSI and MIL-PRF rated, so that's good to go. Design looks identical to the Land Ops. It's part of the Striker line, like the Land Ops.

I like my Condor Multiwrap. Comfortable, breathable, and cheap. Can't ask for more.

Where are you playing? Anywhere urban or rocky I'd wear kneepads. If it's dirt, grass, or muddy they don't matter much.

u/PythonPussy · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Surprised nobody's mentioned shirt stays. They might be annoying to put on if you need to wear dress shirts every day but the fact that they keep your shirt tucked in at all times means the amount of 'bagginess' you experience will almost always be nonexistent when you wear these. These are the ones I got years ago and they still work like a charm. I say try these before you go even go to a tailor

u/IceCreamSammies · 1 pointr/streetwear

FYI slightly cheaper on Amazon

I copped one earlier this year, sleeves are pretty puffy, but I like the way it fits.

u/Dtr45 · 3 pointsr/CasualConversation

Also if you ever wear tucked in button-down shirts, get a pair of shirt garters. Theyre super cheap but might feel a little odd for the first wear or two but they make a huge difference on how you look. Would always recommend.

u/texticled · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

It's not an easy find. I've been through more than I care to admit. I think the best pair I've ever had were from a small independent men's store. Check those in your area. I've also found okay ones at Army/Navy stores (they had them behind the counter). I've got these off Amazon, and they're shit. The foot loop ones always slide off my foot, so I don't use those. These are the type that I always use.

u/deputy_diarrhea · 3 pointsr/BuyItForLife

Rothco makes a good milspec boonie hat. It's hard to beat at $10 on Amazon. Lightweight, tough BDU fabric. Comes with chin strap, brim loops, and metal screen vents for the top. Can't go wrong at this price, I suggest giving one a try.

u/_Logo_ · 1 pointr/airsoft

I use a [Condor multi-wrap.] (https://www.amazon.com/Condor-MULTI-P-Multi-Wrap/dp/B0086UB82U?th=1&psc=1) It works quite well and can keep me cool on hot days and warm on cold ones.

u/Quadly · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Woah, really appreciate the detailed response! You really do utilize the bomber well in a lot of your fits.

I always see the AI slim MA-1 recommended, but the gold zippers and puffiness put me off. I do love the cut of Zara's bomber, but they don't currently have any in black. Killion offered an awesome bomber, but I missed the pre-order... Uniqlo and Gap both discontinued their black bombers. I really just want one with silver zippers and a matte or wool finish.

So currently I've been refreshing Grailed every day, but I still can't find the perfect one for under $150.

u/clobbersaurus · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I use a rubber belt style shirt stay. Other comments are correct that shirts probably fitting you properly, but for $15 these can help a lot. I go all day looking exactly how I got dressed.

Ooh should add that I do get my shirts taken in to slim them down and have darts put in the back. This album shows that kinda. Especially the gap part-http://m.imgur.com/a/heKEB

u/AirsoftGrunge · 2 pointsr/airsoft

Midcaps or highcaps? Define "a few". You could tape them together, or get mag clamps. It's a pain if you run more than two and need to ditch the clamped ones, however.

Something like a Chicom chest-rig sounds about perfect for your needs.

u/Spencerforhire83 · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

They definitely help. I remember they use to sell a silicon belt that you put over your shirt, but under your belt line, that keeps the shirt in.

Thermal Underwear:

Desert sand, cream, or white thermal underwear may be worn under the ABU. Thermal underwear will not be worn as an outer garment. Thermal underwear will not be visible under the ABU trouser and coat except at the neck.

I have a sand colored half-zip shirt that I was issued that is quite warm. I’d send a pic but we just moved and it’s still packed away (but I need to find it for winter).
