My Aunt. She was such a unique person. Where my mother was over protective, she was the one that taught me to take risks. It wasn't because my mom didn't want me to grow, she just didn't want to break bones, teeth or anything that required a hospital visit. My aunt never had children of her own but wanted them so I feel she filled that void with her nieces and nephews. My aunt loved to paint the most beautiful pictures and cook for everyone. I remember getting knocks at my door and to open them to my mom holding stacks of tubberware and just saying your aunt cooked again here is what she prepared for you. She would set the family traditions like our routine Christmas Eve dinner party which sort of played out as a family reunion as well. She was really full of life and really inspired mine. After my uncle committed suicide however it took a heavy toll on my aunt and she became a shell of her previous self. She became depressed, incredibly lonely and being a diabetic her health started to go downhill quickly. We were aware of the burden and grief she was dealing with, but she managed to always smile and be in high spirits when we were around even if she was just pretending so we wouldn't worry so much. The traditional gatherings stopped being planned and she didn't visit as often. She passed away in her sleep a couple years after. I try to put fresh flowers on her grave every month when possible and we still celebrate her birthday although it is bittersweet.
I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather's cameras.
Not sure if I have anything on my list that will make me a better person, but I'll give it a try. How about this since I could use it to bake cookies and share them to brighten not only my day but others as well. Or there is this since I enjoy doodling and coloring it would help improve my mood and also the point of my artistic side being inspired by my aunt. In all honesty you don't have to purchase me anything - save it for yourself and replace your things. Thanks for letting me share.
No problem, my pleasure!
This is the set I have from Staedtler. I don't know them to have bigger sets for the metallic ones.
There's also this set of fineliners from Staedtler, but they have such a tiny point, they're only god for small details honestly.
And for Posca there's also this huge set, but I honestly think this is an overkill.
Depending on where you are from, I think you can also go to a local library and see f they have an open stock for any of these markers and just buy whatever you like after testing them...
You can also try the even more expensive sets, but honestly, I don't think they're worth it.
Copic markers
Another too expensive set of markers: Chameleon
Some of my friends bought these too: Tombow dualbrush
Posca and Staedtler have the most affordable and awesome markers though.
To start off, check out the Uniball Jetstream Premier or the UniballJetstream Alpha.
I recommend this because of numerous reviews that support the Jetstream as one of the smoothest/best writing pens available. The ink dries almost immediately and the ink soaks into the page (Uniball says that this is good for signing important documents and avoids forgery), but the ink doesn't leak through. I think these are definitely worth checking out, I have the cheaper plastic cap version and it writes well.
If you prefer a different aesthetic but want that Jetstream ink, you will have to look into whether certain pens accept certain ink cartridges.
Edit: I'll also add the Parker Jotter as well. It's /r/pens approved and it looks more professional than the Jetstreams.
This is the basic one but you can also get more detailed ones. As well as the mat with two different tones on each side I found the two tone flip mat to be more than enough most of the time but I also got the multi terrain pack for more niche uses.
I use these pens. The paizo site claims you can use permanent markers and I'm sure it works fine but wet erase markers are just so perfect, no smudge easy wipe off.
A word of warning the maps do fold down so there are very obvious creases in the mats when you lay them out so make sure you chuck some books on them for a bit before the game starts. We normally just pile our dnd books on top until we need to use it.
Make sure to check out amazon or w/e because these mats are often sold as cheap if not cheaper on their. Also Paizo shipping can be quite a bit depending on where you live!
Good luck!

First I'll answer your last question, no, there is nothing wrong with not painting or going all out on a model. Like you said, you have only been at this for a few months and it is always best to start small. If you keep at it, who knows, months down the road you may be making your own custom models. That being said, lets see what I can suggest for getting the best out of your model without putting a ton of time (or money) into it. The first few things I would pick up are:
http://www.amazon.com/Elmers-XZ3601-X-ACTO-Knife-Cap/dp/B005KRSWM6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1451350392&sr=8-4&keywords=hobby+knife
http://www.amazon.com/Squadron-Products-Value-Sanding-Stick/dp/B000CDR5K8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1451350756&sr=8-2&keywords=squadron+tri+grit
http://www.amazon.com/Uni-Pin-Fineliner-0-05mm-Black/dp/B00A7BSEKK/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1451351047&sr=8-2-fkmr2&keywords=uni+pin+.5+fine+liner
http://www.amazon.com/Krylon-53530-Acrylic-Interior-Exterior/dp/B001C42OXY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451351086&sr=8-1&keywords=flat+top+coat
The most important part is have fun with it, and do what you like.
Definitely white. and as /u/MensLeagueGretzky stated, that crest will fill up quick. And if the guys sign small to accommodate the full team, their signatures might look cramped and shittier than they would otherwise be if given the whole front of the jersey to sign.
And black sharpie wouldn't look that bad over blue, but white is just an ideal option for a signed jersey.
Personally I would also just leave the crest clean, but that's up to you. Maybe save it for the bigger names on the team or if you have the chance down the line for legends like Potvin, Trottier, etc.
Or just let Rick Dipietro slaughter it with the thickest sharpie available on the market http://www.amazon.com/Sharpie-Magnum-Black-Permanent-Marker/dp/B0005KC7A6
Unless you just wanted the current roster on it, which is understandable.
First off, Welcome to /r/Gunpla and the plastic crack hobby
A few simple things that I think can help make a kit pop for cheap are
1.) Panel lining- basically just drawing in those recessed grooves that are all over. It gives depth and brings out details. The ones i use are like this. Brown for reddish colors, grey for light, and black for darker plastic. Usually $2-4 per marker depending on how you buy em
2.) Nub removal- there are tons of resources for how to do this "properly" and everyone finds their own way. The general consensus is first cut about halfway between the runner (the rounded pipe like stuff that all the parts come in) and the gate (where the runner narrows down and connect to the piece you are actually using).
Then using an exacto knife cut that remaining little bit off and buff the rest with high grit sandpaper 500 or higher works well. Its ok to be a little bit sloppy here because...
3.) Top coat- This stuff will coat the model and make all those sand marks go away. It also makes the model look less "plasticy" and more like the "real" thing. There are primarily 3 types: Matte/flat which is not shiny at all like a military vehicle would be, gloss which is very shiny like a sports car, and satin which is somewhere in between. I prefer matte lke this. Just pop the arms and legs off and spray.
From there you can get into the deeper stuff if you are so inclined such as painting, modding and scratch building. There are plenty of great resources here such as the sidebar guide or falldog's guide which is how I learned.
Sorry for the long post but,
Happy Building!
I've sold a ton and bought a ton over the years on CL. I'm reluctant to let people in my house but for amps and guitars, I figured it was sort of necessary. I've bought from other people this way as well. When people come over, I have the gear near the front of my house so they don't go all through my house to get to my guitar room. I should probably consider the guitar center approach but have been careless and lazy and just have them come over. I've been lucky so far but if I were giving advice to myself, I'd say try to meet at a guitar shop or something.
Alternatively, if you had an adapter for your car, you might be able to plug a small amp in and test it somewhere in public.
I have always dealt in cash. For large bills, I got one of these to make sure I wasn't getting fake bills:
http://smile.amazon.com/Sharpie-1778830-Counterfeit-Detector-Marker/dp/B0042ET0LU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452111105&sr=8-1&keywords=counterfeit+pen
I use Ebay to gauge prices. I look only at sold listings in the past few months to see what range the item is actually selling for (including shipping). I look at about the lowest price it has sold for and that's the highest I'll pay for something. It's also about where I start pricing my item. Generally, local sales are less expensive than Ebay. If you want the best money, you sell on Ebay and take the hit with their charges. The net for the seller is about the same, the buyer gets a break buying locally.
If my local market is flooded with the item I'm selling (I had an amp last year and there were 2 others of the exact same model not selling in my local CL), I'll list it on Ebay instead.
That's all my advice. good luck!
I had a very unique style of notes, but here's what worked best for me:
So in my junior year I realized that I hated carrying around hundreds of pages of blank paper all the time and so I only printed up about ten pages of note paper at a time. I found a template for Cornell style notes and just printed out my own note paper each week. The multicolored pens worked great for me because I could look back and my notes would all be organized. For example, raw notes were in black, equations in blue, examples in green, questions in red, and anything related to an exam was in every color. Then, I just followed the Cornell note-taking style for note review and it worked out great for me. I had well-organized notes (that people often asked for) and never had to lug around pounds of blank paper that I wasn't going to use.
tl;dr- colored pens for unique note items and self-printed Cornell notes
You can find more links to an example of how I took notes, as well as a link to a printable PDF for Cornell note paper here
You take a permanent text marker and use your hand to "Write on the PC". You get bonus points if you also write on your Monitor.
As i'm from Germany i would recommend the Staedler Lumocolor Fine Point Permanent marker: https://www.amazon.com/Staedtler-Lumocolor-Point-Permanent-Marker/dp/B005ENFQ48/
In my years of experience with this pen none ever went empty before i lost them somewhere somehow.
^(Editors notice: This article may have been sponsored by Staedler, who hopefully will send me a few free pens for the blatant advertisement for their products.)
We used these playing cards: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BTV2NV9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 because they were durable and gave people room for messages. We got two different types of sharpies: Sharpie Metallics: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DPLQJVN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which worked absolutely great, did not smudge, looked great, fast drying and a package of multicolored ones: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UHUKKHQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which were hit and miss - some of these were too light and some did smudge a little. If your guests are careful, they can not smudge the ink, but especially if you are doing an open bar like we did that may be too much too ask. haha
That is really specific indeed. I looked around but couldn't find much. The only one I found has the puff ball and it's pretty expensive.
I suggest getting the white one from your amazon link and painting the red stripes with a Sharpie. Not even kidding! Good luck.
Edit: Apparently [found one!**](http://www.cappelsinc.com/product/wheres-waldo-slouch-beanie-hat/)
Wow, thank you so much for answering! It looks like it's also on amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Zebra-Mackee-Care-Double-Sided-Marker/dp/B007QAIQV2
www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0015IQO0Q/
These are what i use, i think they need to be wet erase markers but please double check me.
So far these markers work great.
I love drawing. These Sharpie Pens would be fucking AWESOME.
I love drawing with regular pens, but sharpie pens are the best. They possess some magical quality that make ANYTHING you draw look adorable/epic at the same time. If Jesus was an artist, I shit you not that he would have drawn with Sharpie Pens.
These seem promising: https://www.amazon.com/Sharpie-Extreme-Permanent-Markers-1927434/dp/B00UHUJE1O
EXTREME! I hope they come with free mountain dew

Occasionally had a problem keeping the writing straight when going across deeper grooves, but never any issues with bleeding. I really like the spraypaint idea though, seems like it would be a much cleaner finished product.
That's probably why. Most kids in France write with using FP with cartridges (I think they are mandatory in primary school and in High School some of my teachers would require students to use FP during tests) so ink erasers are super popular there.
The same eraser as in the picture : http://www.amazon.fr/Papermate-Reynolds-Magic-Effaceur-r%C3%A9%C3%A9criveur/dp/B008AABVZU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450772049&sr=8-1&keywords=%C3%A9ffaceur (french Amazon)
http://www.amazon.com/Tiger-washable-eraser-permanent-re-writer/dp/B005H72SAG/ref=sr_1_10?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1450772347&sr=1-10&keywords=ink+eraser (the only ink eraser I could find on Amazon.com).
You are probably right about bottled ink. Is it possible to fill any pen with regular cartridge ink or is it complicated ?
No, those are dry erase markers. You want Wet erase markers for a standard game mat. Any that say 'wet erase' would do. Perhaps ask a teacher or look for a school supply store. These are the kind of markers that were used in older "overhead projectors".
The best ones are Staedtler like these: https://www.amazon.com/Staedtler-Lumocolor-Non-Permanent-Assorted-STD316WP4A6/dp/B0007OEDSO
This looks like an online retailer that services Chile and has them: https://listado.mercadolibre.cl/industrias-y-oficinas/oficinas/staedtler-lumocolor
It seems that only certain permanent markers contain xylene. The King Size Sharpie as well as the Magnum Sharpie do, according to Wikipedia. The marker that they seem to be using is a big metal one like the King Size and Magnum so it is likely that the marker they're using does contain xylene. It also probably contains cresol, which is also very bad. A very large portion of his skin is covered in marker, marker that is likely more harmful than your typical permanent marker. I'd be pretty upset if someone covered a good portion of my body in highly toxic industrial solvents. Also, I'm not a stick in the mud incapable of having fun, if there was an option that was non-toxic and equally as marking I might find the humor in it. I just wish people had more sense to know the harm these things can have on a person's health.
Because your username is relevant. Hopefully that makes you laugh :D

Make sure you get wet erase markers for these
As for terrain, you don't really need any to start...and its probably better if you didn't, because then you'll over-focus on that. But if you're a big craftsperson, check this guy out.
Have you tried the Uni Jetstream Premier? I've had one for a couple of years and it's been great.

I will always cherish this tutorial, he describes the difference between markers and how to use them at 3:46 (keep in mind the cotton bud works on the fine markers too)
I understand what you mean, but during school/uni me and almost everyone used pens with standard refills (waterman, parker, lamy, whatever) and you could always erase the "standard blue" with something like
this
This, my friend, is what you need:

Hi - Thanks so much!
I used unipin - these ones.
Haha my dude is comparison shopping bricks right now. If someone buys a brick for fifty bucks instead of two thousand they’re still a sucker .
I literally just got these permanent markers in the mail today to cover this same issue. I got these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005ENFQ48/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I wouldn't use Sharpie because they purple over time. These do not. I just used the one I linked so idk how well it will react to fading, but right now I used just a dot on the scratch marks. Although it doesn't match the bezel color exactly, the black mark is less noticeable than the metal showing through on the scratch mark.
I think you needed bigger pens ;-)

If you really want to blow peoples minds, use a retractable sharpie.
The most common brand of permanent marker is probably the Zebra fine oil-based marker: https://www.amazon.co.jp/ZEBRA-%E3%82%BC%E3%83%96%E3%83%A9-ZEB137-%E6%B2%B9%E6%80%A7%E3%83%9E%E3%83%BC%E3%82%AB%E3%83%BC-%E3%83%9E%E3%83%83%E3%82%AD%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B1%E3%82%A2%E8%B6%85%E6%A5%B5%E7%B4%B0-%E9%BB%92/dp/B007QAIQV2 Not sure where you can pick it up outside Japan though. I attend a fashion college in Tokyo and this is also the main brand we carry at school.
I bought these ones off of amazon, but you can probably find some matching ones in any office supply store.
Consider the Bic Mark It "ultra fine", they're a similar gauge.
It appears to be a Sharpie King Size which I think only comes in Black, Red, and Blue.

If you guys can pool ~$30 you can get a Chessex Battlemat and some wet erase markers. It'll be just a little bigger than (what I'm guessing is) 8.5x11 and just as functional/reuseable as your option.
Fat Red Sharpie
Like, that size?
And these are the markers we're supposed to use?

I recommend Staedtler non permanent lumocolor. They dry fast and require a little water to get off, so you won't erase your work by accident. I use it in conjuction with a Scrubby whiteboard notebook.

If you want to remove the labels quickly and cleanly, run a heat gun over them for a few seconds and they peel right off. I usually either remove any sticker with a bar code or redact with a big-ass Magnum Sharpie. https://www.amazon.com/Sharpie-Magnum-Permanent-Marker-1-Count/dp/B0005KC7A6
